Good! But not for the feint hearted
Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists Box Set, Books 1-4 by Ellie Masters: Hard to read at times
These books are gut wrenching and painful, but also inspiring with the strength of the characters and their will to survive. Love the good guy guardians! The pace of these stories is good and I couldn’t put it down — I stayed up reading late into the night.
These stories are about the worst depravity of mankind. Serial murders and Human trafficking are unfathomable crimes, and nothing is off the table to these people. Kidnappings, rapes, beatings, murders, and slave bondage are commonplace. The Guardians are the good guys and their rescues save a fraction of the victims (and then give those victims the tools and support to become survivors), as they continue working to bring down the perpetrators. Interwoven are love stories and strong characters that touch the heart.

An action packed series
This series has lots of action packed rescues and terrifying abductions with very hot ripped special ops hes. Several of the damsels are tough as nails too and cool as ice, but hot for their hero. I felt the first story was very much a bit of a thriller type story mostly its about a serial killer and his apprentice... It follows the ex wife of a serial killer who is on death row...but he escapes.... The wife unbeknownst to her has a stalker he is a collector of women who sorta follows her ex's crimes... He is planning to take his mentors wife too. But an on vacation Guardian in town to witness his sisters murderer be executed, happens to cross paths with the ex-wife in a tornado.... The team descends to find a missing mother and then to find the murder who escaped, when the ex-wife goes missing too... Its full of twists and turns.
The second book to me is really the first book in the series really because its the start of an ongoing storyline. The Guardians are called in to save an abducted lady who has a relationship with one of the Alpha team members....Think its Alpha4. The story is mostly about the girl's abduction, recovery, training, and the Guardian teams rescue of her not once BUT twice. She's been abducted for a snuff film by order.
The third book links closely to the 2nd and 4th because parts of these other stories are related. This story is about a girl who gets abducted with the girl in book 2 on her second abduction and her relationship with Alpha3 starts in book one during her treatment and training. She may also have been in another story. The story has her almost save herself but then she becomes bait or an operative for the Guardians. She falls for her Alpha hero but he is reserved until he loses her
The 4th book is a mixture of the team following information on the trafficking of women and a woman who is taken the same time as the girl in book 2, but she gets split into a different truck. This story has undercover guardians and battles to escape, a treck in the jungle, and another gun battle. There are some questions unanswered.... How her father is tied to the abducted women, if they recover the women since she feels its her main reason to survive... I guess I will have to keep reading this series...

Melissa and CJ will meet in an unexpected way. She is finally free from the terror that is her husband. A killer who is in prison on death row. CJ is home on leave to witness this execution because he killed his baby sister. There could be triggers for some in this book. There's fear, danger and a will to live. HEA. This story is all too real. This actually happens in this world. Zoe is kidnapped and her father and brother move heaven and earth to find her. They hire Axel's team to find and rescue her. He is Austin's best friend and he's known his sister since she was in kindergarten. She's always had a crush on him. She has barely survived what they have done to her and in front of her and the others that were captured. This book may cause triggers for some. There's violence, danger and plenty of heat. They have a HEA but it's not over yet. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Was waiting for this book to find out what happened to Moira. Griff was her guardian although she only knew him by his number. When she's kidnapped again while the girls were at the beach, he goes crazy wondering where she was and what was happening to her again. But he's being held back from a bullet wound to his leg that was very serious and they won't let him help in the search till it heals. It's a long and agonizing road for the both of them. HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. An excellent read with plenty of danger, heat and the unthinkable. We are back in the search for human traffickers and trying to find Eve, daughter of a weathy man. She was one of the woman alonag with Moira who were kidnapped right off the streets. They weren't in the same place at the time they were kidnapped. Her future is uncertain and believes she'll never be free of her monster owner. Loved Max's character, he is defintely a strong alpha males and leader of his team. He'll do whatever it takes to get her back, he's become obsessive about it, but in a good way. HEA. Recived this book for a voluntary review.

I have read each book in this box set and absolutely loved them.
They are full of action, dramatic, intense with a mystery that goes right to the end of the book.
Each guy in the security team was definitely not going to fall in love but cant help themselves when they have to protect and defend the ONE.
The guys are romantic, sweet, alpha and oh so protective, some of them made me swoon. But they are like real guys, not over the top in any of these facets except many protective but the girls need a little push in the right direction. Most aren't aware they are in a much danger as they are.
Such a great set of books and seriously you would be doing yourself a favour getting them as they are great reads. I loved spending my time with them all.
Most of all, they have that team spirit where they all have each other's backs, and I just love that facet in a book.

I give this series a 5 for the author.
I really loved the stories of the 4 I have read although I am not a fan of the continuous use of the ‘F’ word. Bit if you like serious constant action with a lot of scary situations that really keep you on the edge your seat then this is the series for you. They are stand alone books ‘kind of’ but best to read them in order starting with rescuing Melissa. All the same Guardians are in the books so having back story and already liking the story of the rescuers prior keeps you rooting for each and everyone of the guardians and the rescued. I am about to start rescuing Lily. It is going to be as exciting as the last 4 I am sure!
Have to admit I kind of lost respect for CJ when he slept with Melissa just after her surgery but like my husband tells me ‘it was in the script’.

1700 pages of my life that I’ll never get back
If there was ever a book/series I should have DNFed, this would be it. Please don’t waste your time. Rampant, basic factual and sloppy writing errors. Massive plot holes. More loose threads than an old sweater. Downright detestable heroines.
Congrats Ms. Masters…you officially created the worst romance heroine ever: Eve. Snooty, weak, self-righteous, entitled. Anyone who describes their own actions as “I glide” and “I gracefully…” is a total self-important snob. She is literally the worst heroine I’ve ever read…and that’s saying a lot, as I’m currently at over 700 romance novels in the last two years.
She literally walks around with her nose in the air, does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to earn the hero’s love other than be pretty, does nothing to escape or help those around her and even actively ignores their pain, worries only about herself and her vanity, and squeals like a pig when she gets a Charlie horse even though everyone around her has been seriously injured or endured horrible abuse. But yeah…your Charlie horse…boy that must have been rough. She just sits around waiting for daddy to rescue her and bemoaning her circumstances, though she’s treated 1000x better than the women around her. And let’s not talk about the fact that she’s to blame for her circumstances…her own clueless bravado led to her kidnapping. And then anything she does that’s “brave” involves her tugging at the sleeve of someone better than her. She’s the most embarrassing female character I’ve ever read. I will never read another book by this author…the others in this series were barely better.

Very good romantic suspense!
This volume contains four books. The first takes place well before the next three, which are inter related. The guardians are teams of former special ops soldiers, who with their boss, Forest and his sister, Skye protect, rescue and help put back together kidnapping victims, sex trade victims and hostage victims.
The only reason I gave four stars is that the erotic scenes are very long, I mean multiple chapters per scene. I like some erotic scenes in a book, but this is too much for me. Perhaps another would actually enjoy this?
These are solid books and form a coherent whole. If you enjoy this genre, you will love these books.

Excellent writing, but very dark
Ellie Masters is an excellent writer. Her story lines are always strong, her characters well developed. The books are relatively well edited - a few minor issues here and there.
However, these books are dark. They are full of triggers. Mental health is important - check for trigger warnings before considering this series. The story includes abduction, rape, beatings, snuff. Although Zoe’s story was excellently done, I chose not to continue the series. I read for entertainment. These books are simply too dark for me to consider them entertaining.

So hard to rate a whole series but honestly, none of these books really felt like more than 3 stars. I am not sure all these books are in order and maybe that’s why I struggled, or I missed some that had to be read first. I just felt like a few books contained little bits of foreshadowing that never came to fruition and at the end there were more questions than answers. I need a well rounded book with a complete finish and the final book I felt like it was just the end of a “lust at first sight” relationship and nothing was resolved as far as the person behind all these kidnapping were.

I just love me some big burly, hot military guys with mad skills and BIG hearts!! Loved the first boxed set of this series. I love how they never give up and they protect women and hostages, and how they take care of the people they rescue after they bring them to a safe place. I just loved the teams' strength and character. The men and women on the teams worked in sync because of their relationships with each member of their teams. Just great well-written stories with feel-good endings as good triumphed over evil

Please write 5 - 10 books of the Guardian's.
I can't believe how fantastic the books are. I love the characters and would love it if the next four or more would be how amazing women are. Surviving such horrible things.
I like how the book start with the women in a container or the floor. The strength it shows when the continue to fight.
And the heroes taking such care of them!

Each book comes with its own story but the characters are some of the same. Each book is standalone and focuses mainly on 1 Guardian and his woman and how he must save her, or re-save her. Well written, well researched
I think I got this with the grand idea of reading about the heroes but in reality I got part way into the second story and my PTSD kicked off really bad.
I have read other books by this author and thoroughly enjoyed them but this one has way too many trigger points for me...
I like the author so don't want to give a bad rating, I mean CJ intrigued me. But this is not for me.

I have read other books by this author and thoroughly enjoyed them but this one has way too many trigger points for me...
I like the author so don't want to give a bad rating, I mean CJ intrigued me. But this is not for me.

I reviewed each of these books separately. They are all graphically tragic and demoralizing to women (from sex trafficking to trafficking for snuff films - which I hope doesn't actually exist), but they are eye-opening books that everyone should be aware of. If they scare you, you'll hopefully be more aware and stay out of trouble. Beware of the triggers! The writing is original and the storylines unique. I can't wait to read more.

Great read and now for the rest of the series
I enjoyed reading the boxed set of Guardian HRS and would recommend it to anyone especially if you have liked any of Susan Smokers books because sorry Susan Ellie Masters is giving you a run for it. Great reads and the stories continue from one book to the other.

Intense
OMG!!! Every one of these stories had me on the edge. The first one was absolutely insane. The following three were no less insane.
There are some really sick people in the world.
Ms. Masters has done some serious research, these stories are very well written and all the characters are extremely well fleshed out.

Highly recommend!
For the genre, there’s a wonderful mix of plot, action, romance, and sex. I like the overall theme as well.
I wasn’t sure if the series began with this set: Parts 1 or with “Saving Melissa”. You should definitely take advantage of the link to the free book and read “Saving Melissa” first.

Alpha Team 1-4
To start with the missions are awesome, the rescues are like real life, the girls are unmistakable and the guys are HOT 🥵. I loved the books. The stories behind the girls and the way everything came together. Thanks for sharing. I’m starting the next one immediately.

I don’t know who recommended these books but I love them. I love books where characters are intertwined but we get a book about each character. Loved these, can’t wait to read the next ones.

Intense
These books are intense and not for the faint hearted. Rescuing Zoe in particular made me cry. However, there is hope, some laughs along the way, friendship, passion and love for the HEA couples.

Best set of books ever
These books kept me up at night reading until 2 am. The suspense of each volume never slows down and plays with your emotions as the scenes play out. Strong women are portrayed in these books.

Great Stories!!
'Rescuing Zoe' was the only one I couldn't finish - it scared me. It's really well written. The rest of the stories, guys, girls and situations were intense but I was able "to handle that business!" Thank you for your time, talent and the story.

Worth reading but heavy topic
The books are well written but very heavy and triggering. The people who are abused need heroes like these guardians. I found myself having to stop several times because it was to much. I can't imagine how the victims survived such horrific treatment.

Hot hot hot
Max and Eve and on fire. I've read every one of the Guardian books so far. They each are amazing. Max is all the way Alpha and Eve is strong beyond. They become unstoppable together. Can't wait to move onto the next book.

Worst book I ever picked up. The author seems to have a dislike for women and likes to see them beaten and tortured (she does this in great detail). A waste of money and will never read Ellie Masters again!!!!

Loved this Boxset
This boxset was superb. I couldn't put it down. I was enthralled with these characters. I liked how even though each story builds on the last, you can read each one as a standalone. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

This series is totally awesome. Nail biting, suspenseful, kickass hero’s and tough as nails heroines. They all roll right into each other. I will always be up for a Ellie Masters book. Just amazing all the way through.
