Finley Kelly has been left at the altar three times and has become known as the "unwed bride". Despite this, Finley hasn't lost hope in finding love and now she faces her fourth wedding. Her new fiancé, Austin Bennett, comes from a successful business family and is her current boss. They may not be madly in love, but Finley's at least sure he won't leave her at the altar. Then Knox Morgan, the town's former hockey star, shows up. Knox who was way out of her league, someone Finley never even dared to dream about. And he's Austin's best friend...

First of all: I love the Kelly family! Finley has three brothers who are slightly overprotective, irritating and boisterous, but they would do anything for their sister. The parents are each others opposites in many ways, but they want happiness for their children. And Grandma Kelly - she's the best!

We get both Finley's and Knox's viewpoints, which I love. I like that we get to see different sides of Finley, depending on who she's with. Knox goes through some changes that feel realistic. At first glance Austin seems to be rather insensitive, but it's not easy living up to his father's demands. I also have to mention Cole. He's Knox's 8 year old nephew and you have to love his precocious ways!

I found it somewhat unrealistic with three aborted weddings, but I guess it could happen. Having being dumped at the altar three times and still choose to go through it again, that just doesn't make sense in my world, but we're all different. What really bothered me was that Finley felt she had to hide some aspects of herself before Austin, for fear of him not liking it. Was she planning on hiding her true self for the rest of her life? And why didn't any warning bells go off in her mind? I really felt like slapping her several times...

I'm looking forward to returning to the fictional Gulf City for more encounters and romances! I still haven't read a book from Michelle MacQueen that I haven't enjoyed!

Every time I start a new MacQueen series, I think, "This is it. This is the one. This is my new favorite." Every. Time. And this book was no different.

We're back in Gulf City, and if you've read any of my reviews in the past, you know I love this city and its people. I've grown deeply attached to MacQueen's world, where all the series are connected in one way or another. She continues to build it up and somehow make it more and more incredible.

In Always a Bride, we meet Finley Kelly and her amazing family. She's engaged for the fourth time, but this time, she's the doubtful one when Knox Morgan returns to town. Her childhood crush. Her brother's best friend.

These characters are so well written and feel so real. The book is funny, but it still has sweet and emotional moments, of course. Even the side characters are so well developed that it makes me eager for more books. Between Finley's brothers and her best friend, Rae, I am completely invested all of their lives.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes clean romance. It's just... so good. And as I write this, I've already read and adored the second book too. This series is absolutely one to check out.

Apologies to one of my favorite authors, but this was not my favorite of her books. I am a very character driven reader and I just didn't care for Finley. To the point that I wasn't sure why the hero did. I loved the side characters and I am excited to read Finley's brothers' stories, but she wasn't it for me.
The writing, world (town?) building and editing are excellent, but just not her best characters.

Any of my reasons for disliking Fin would devolve into extensive spoilers, so I am just going to go with she wasn't strong enough for my tastes.

Fall in 💖 with the Kelly Family....

What a wonderful start to a new series! Not your typical runaway bride series that's for sure...especially as it's the grooms that end up leaving her each time at the alter. Will third time be the charm....or not? Meet Finley our amazing main character with such a great heart, warm spirit, and friggin amazing family that is a character in and of itself within the book. Fall in love with this amazing cast of characters and quickly fall under the spell of if/who she will end up with. I fell in love with the entire Kelly family, and can't wait to see who falls in love next....though I have a few ideas 💡😉.

This is a well written book with strong characters and a heartwarming storyline. The author does a great job developing the story and brings all the feels as Finley hopes to find her one true love. The story moves fluidly with her perfectly painted scenes and is an entertaining read.

This is the first in a new series. Finley is the subject of gossip in town, as she has been left standing at the altar 3 times, and she is hoping that the 4th time will be a success. Finley is engaged to her wealthy boss Austin, but Knox, who is Austin’s best friend, is in town for his sisters’ birthday, and he has always regretted that Finley is the girl that got away. Will the 4th time be the charm for Finley?
This is a well written story which is an easy to read, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to a sweet, and entertaining, small-town romance.

Plot: Finley has been down the aisle three times, with no marriages. The town has deemed her the unwed bride. When she gets engaged a fourth time, she is determined to put the town to shame. This wedding will end in a marriage. She is ready to settle, until her old crush, Knox, becomes heavily involved in the wedding when the groom has to take a last minute work trip. How will their relationship shift as they spend time together? Will her fourth wedding finally end in marriage? How will Knox take it?

What I liked: I liked that her family and friends kept rallying behind her and helping her feel supported in her life, regardless of how she felt about herself.

What I didn’t like: I didn’t like that her fiancé and in-laws wouldn’t let her plan her own wedding. She was so taken advantage of.

Swearing: none

Physical intimacy level: closed door

Star rating: 3 stars

Trope: friends to lovers, small town romance, love triangle (kind of)

Always a Bride is an enjoyable second Chance romance between Finley, who has been stood up at the altar three times but is now engaged to her boss Austin, and Knox who will be Austin’s best man at their wedding who always regretted not winning Finley’s heart in high school. This well written romance has amazing characters, wit, strong emotions at times, indecision, and a heartfelt story.

DNF at 30%. Finley is a total moron. None of her "friends" tell her what's going on. Give me a break.

I really liked Knox and Finley, but Gram was the real star lol. If you want a cute free read, give this a go. Very much a “beach read” that you can get through with a swiftness.

Always a Bride is the first book in a new series. Instead of always being a bridesmaid, Finley is always a bride and after 3 weddings she still isn’t married.
A year after the third wedding, she is dating her boss and he asks her to marry him also. I didn’t mind Austin but he definitely didn’t seem to care that much for Finley. He showed it at some points but in reality he didn’t really love her. Austin’s dad was not a nice person and unfortunately he had too much control over Austin and the business.
Knox is back for his sisters birthday. He has a job that allows him to travel the world so he doesn’t see much of his sister and her son. Turns out that Knox and Austin are old friends and Finley was the girl from high school that Knox never got over. I would consider this a love triangle because Finley can’t open her mouth and call the wedding off to Austin but you can tell she is developing feelings for Knox.
I loved the brothers in this story and I’m excited to see if they get their own stories. Rae was a pretty cool character as well. I loved the relationships and how comfortable everyone seemed with each other.
I honestly wasn’t sure what to rate this book. I wanted to give it 5 stars because once I started I didn’t want to put it down and it hooked me. But I also wanted to give it a 3.5 because of how Finley was and how she couldn’t tell Austin no way sooner. I loved this book but at the same time it annoyed me and frustrated me a little.

The start of a new series and showing a lot of promise for things to come.

Once again, we have a backdrop of beaches and small-town communities with the fictional 'Gulf City' which, admittedly, feels like a place I'd like to live.

After being left at the altar 3 times already, you'd think Finley would be done with love but, instead, here she is attempting number 4. The real question here, though, is whether this is really about love at this point or has the idea of marriage become somewhat of an obsession for Finley. And what will happen if number 4 goes wrong?

More importantly, should number 4 go wrong? Is marriage to the wrong guy better than no marriage at all, or is it worth risking it all for a maybe Mr Right?

Finley's family are an entertaining bunch and offer up plenty of potential for future books in this series.

Am I glad I read it - yes
Was it a waste of my time - no
Would I sit down and read it all over again - if I didn't have such a big TBR pile, I probably could
Would I read more by this author based on this book - yes, definitely interested to see the next book in this series.

Three weddings later Finley Kelly still doesn’t have a husband. Despite walking down the aisle each time. Now, a year after her last failed wedding, she is getting ready to walk down the aisle with Austin Bennet, heir to the Bennet fortune and legacy. But something is off with this wedding. For once, Finley’s not afraid she’ll be left at the altar. As the big day grows closer, and Austin’s best man, Knox, arrives back in town, secrets start to unravel. Will the wedding happen after all? Or will this be another wedding with someone left standing at the alter?

This was such a sweet story to read and I can’t say why, but I got some very strong Runaway Bride vibes. And I haven’t even seen the movie all the way through, that was my sisters movie. A great take on the “always a bridesmaid never a bride” storyline.

Finley had a lot of dress rehearsal when it came to weddings. She was a bride three times and never a wife after the weddings that did not move her from engaged to married. When a year after the third near miss she winds up engaged to her boss, which was basically a marriage of convenience wherein he really did not love her, she is determined to know success and make it from engaged to married. But is the point to be married or to find a partner with whom to share a marriage that will bring her fulfillment? Austin was the groom she was settling for. Knox, in town for a family event and her childhood crush makes her wonder if she is making the right move while she was trying to work her way to sealing the deal. Will she make the right decision for the right reason with the right man? Meeting the Kelly family was fun and the story was sweet, emotional and engaging.

After three failed attempts at getting married Finely is trying once again, Austin seems nice and she is sure she could fall for him and when he unexpected proposes she decides to say yes not know there is more going on behind the scenes. Knox is back home for his sisters birthday and expects it to be another pop in and out visit until he catches up with his old friend Austin and finds out not only is he getting married but to Finley a girl who he noticed a lot at school but they were never friends. You get plenty of laughs (a big thank you Finley's brothers lol) as well as heart ache, finding that family means different things to different people, old memories and actions no taken as well as the hope of Finely finally getting a wedding she deserves BUT also to the right guy that makes her. I can not wait to read the next book and see what happens with Rae and Shane!!!!

I've enjoyed several of MacQueen's books. This one is close to the top. This is a book I can share with my daughters. It is clean and tastefully done.

Fin has been down the aisle 3 times and still has yet to seal the deal. This time, she will get married! She's tired of being the hot topic of the town. She loves her family and the support they surround her with, but maybe all of her ex-fiancees were right in their reasons to leave her at the altar.

I enjoyed the characters and their interactions with each other. I laughed several times while reading, especially when Grandma came on the scene. I think I broke Fin's rules too. This is a cute read and I hope to read about Fin's brothers and Fin's bestie soon.

Finley is standing at the altar for the third time while her fiancé calls off the wedding. She survives the ordeal but it leaves scars and makes the town gossip about her worse. Knox returns home for his sisters birthday when he finds out his best friend is planning on getting married. He would be happy for Austin if it was going to be a real marriage but it will be for the sake of the business. When Austin asks Filey to marry him she says maybe as she isn’t sure she can go through it again. She eventually says yes to his proposal still not knowing about the plan. Austin finds it hard to make time for the wedding arrangements and sends Knox on his behalf a few times.
Although the story was predictable it was really well written and had me in (happy) tears at the end.

Finley settles for the wrong men who end up leaving her at the altar. Austin is far from perfect, kind of self absorbed and controlling at times, but unlike the other fiances he's willing to go through with the wedding. But she doesn't show him her true self before she agrees to marry him thinking she can just continue to pretend after they are married and be miserable or divorced. His best friend Knox comes back into her life and shakes it up making her wondering if she's settling again just to get married so she will feel better about herself. I envy Knox his travels and wanted to shake Finley for being a pushover and not taking a risk. I loved Finley's protective rambunctious funny brothers and the Lee Ranch where she goes riding.

Couldn’t put this book down!! It was so gripping to read, I had to know how it ended!!

Finley is a girl of 31 that’s been almost married 3 times, going on 4. She has fallen for each guy only to end up being the brunt of Gulf City town gossip.

Knox is guy #4’s best friend. He had a crush on Finley back in high school but she dated his hockey teammate. After high school, he got incredibly into IT computer tech work and traveled around the world. Coming back to Gulf City, he ends up finding reasons to stay.

Incredibly well done story that’s very touching. I am very blessed to have gotten an ARC copy. Finley is so strong of a character and you just want the best for her, it’s exciting!! The character growth in her, the acceptance of herself, it’s beautiful to see!

We've all heard of the saying "Always a bridesmaid, never a bride" but what about "Always a bride-to-be, but never a bride"?
That is what Finley has become after being left at the altar three times!
She is tired of being the joke of the town, so when her boss asks her to marry him, she is hesitant at first but believes she loves him, so agrees. She has misgivings right up until the wedding day but decides no matter what...whether it's love or not, it is better than no marriage.
I absolutely adored the Kelly family and their wonderful dynamic. Knox & his nephew feel the same way and wish they were a part of it.
I look forward to reading how Finley's brothers find their forever love.

Witty, romantic comedy with memorable characters. What would your life look like if you had spent your whole life in the town where you had been left at the alter…not only once but three times? What would you do to change your image? Hilarious and heartwarming!
With this book, the author revisits a small Florida town that I’ve come to love. I first found the place in her We Thought We Were Invincible. Since then, there have been many more books and characters inhabiting Gulf City. Each is memorable and adds to the depth and realism.

In this current story I got to meet new families and people, who, as small-town life goes, interact with old familiar friends.

What a beautiful story.
It started a bit slow but once into it, you’re rooting for Knox and Finley all the way! You’re really drawn into the story and the way Michelle creates a story is just fantastic.
I really felt sorry for Austin, to live that kind of a life, money isn’t everything.
Finley is a sweet girl but maybe a bit naive and Knox is an epicurean, but they make the perfect duo.
Her brothers are fantastic side characters, I can’t wait to read their stories! And Grams is something else.
I definitely recommend this one.

This story has so much emotion running right throughout. I felt for Finley after all she’d been through and the self doubt it had created. Austin didn’t have much support so we could understand some of what drove him. The Kelly clan are the family that everyone needs. The Morgan’s just needed to find their glue. And Knox? He’d known what he wanted since he was 15, even though he hadn’t realised how deserving he was. Sweet and full of real life problems and characters that finally understand they have to be true to themselves before they can be true to others.

Only as we mature do we realize there are many ways to love and be in love, as many as there are reasons to get married. Finley has yet to learn this. She keeps getting to the altar, but never leaves a bride. Will she make it this time? She's about to marry her boss, when in pops his best friend who happens to have been her high school crush. My favorite person in this book was Gram, who through Finley gives us all some great advice on loves and soul mates. A sweet romance that's feel good all the way through.

More, please!

I LOVE Finley and Knox - and Rae, and Cole(!), and Mariana, and ALL the Kellys (seriously, I would love to meet them all IRL)! Michelle MacQueen has a gift for creating characters that are just so darn loveable, adorable, sometimes (okay, quite often) hilarious, and just so easy to root for.

Always a Bride is such a wonderful start to this new series, and I want to read ALL the stories, pretty please, with sprinkles and shenanigans on top!
