She hates Christmas. He’s about to change her mind…
Cassie isn’t a fan of Christmas. After a string of unlucky incidents during the festive season—including getting dumped—this year she decides to spend the day at home. Alone. No men. No complications.

But then her nightmare boss demands she track down this year’s most coveted Christmas gift—and the only person who can help is an annoyingly sexy Frenchman she’s just met.

This was a cute, unexpectedly steamy novella! Due to a lot of repeated bad luck, Cassie is not a fan of the holiday season. Tasked with an impossible gift request from her ignorant boss, her mission leads into a one-night adventure with a tourist from Paris.

This definitely packs in some Christmas cheer as the two complete a holiday bucket list against the backdrop of London. I loved that despite her distaste for Christmas, Cassie still had a giving heart during the season.

Beginning as strangers with a misunderstanding, the touch of mystery surrounding Nicolas and his career was fun. Being a novella, I naturally thought some areas were rushed, but this was still a very enjoyable read!

I received a copy from the author in exchange for review

My Lucky Night is full of Christmas magic between the pages. I was bowled over as to how quickly I fell in love with Cassie and Nicolas’ story. Olivia Spring’s writing envelopes you in a warm hug with a little spice thrown in, and as we travelled through London on the Christmassy tour, I felt like I’d joined the two of them in exploring London’s delights. I can’t wait for the next in the series to read all about Paris.

⭐⭐⭐⭐💫

This is the second book in the Ten Year Crush Series.
It is Cassie and Nicolas' story. Normally I don't like the fall in love/ fall for each other so quickly story, but Olivia does such an amazing job of telling this story that I love it!
Olivias writing in this book makes you get in the Christmas spirit, and believe in love. ( the spice was a * chefs kiss * 😉)
Olivia you wrote so perfectly, I felt as if I was there with them in London!
I can't wait for the next book! I love this group of friends in this series and absolutely adore your writing.
Looking forward to reading your next one 😍

I would just like to say a huge thank you to Olivia for very kindly forwarding me a beta copy of her book, in return for my honest review.

When I think about what things I love about a Christmas book, this book had it all and ticked all the boxes. It included all the London Christmassy hot spots and with Olivia’s wonderful style of writing, I honestly felt like I was there - enveloped in all of the Christmassy goodness!!
My Lucky Night is the follow on from Ten Year Crush but can very easily be read as a stand alone with absolutely no problems at all.
As soon as I was introduced to the two main characters, Cassie and Nico, I instantly warmed to them both. Oh and just don’t get me started on the fact that Nico is French and his accent just drips from his tongue like treacle (-well it was in my head anyway!!!)
In the first instance, Cassie doesn’t like Nico and thinks he’s a moody, pompous Frenchman but as she gets to know him a little bit better, she begins to warm to him and likes him more and more.
I really loved the little nick names they were giving each other, although some were cuter than others - no thanks to Cassie!!
There were many laugh out loud moments, both in what they were doing and also with what they said and they both had me giggling along in quite a few different places!
My Lucky Night was the most perfect Christmas rom com with just the right amount of funny moments, romance, festivities, oh and don’t forget the sauce sprinkled in there too - perfect!!
I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to get into the Christmas spirit and have a swoon over a Frenchman along the way!!!

Hot, sweet and delicious
5 stars

I was delighted to see Olivia Spring was releasing a short and Christmassy book featuring one of the minor characters from the (equally delightful) My Ten-Year Crush. Cassie from this book is that book’s heroine, Bella’s, cousin. Fear not, though, this book stands completely alone although Bella does make a cute cameo with her son, Paul.

Cassie is a likeable and relatable character. She has her grumpy moments - especially when it comes to Nicolas, but she also has her vulnerable moments such as when she’s dealing with her boss or her personal insecurities. I especially enjoyed that she was not afraid to call Nicolas out when he was being rude!

As we get this story solely from Cassie’s viewpoint, my first impression of Nicolas was of a gorgeous and exceptionally rude Frenchman. To be honest, my opinion of him didn’t much change until he really started interacting with Cassie. At that point, his directness became endearing and I started to like him just as much as Cassie herself did.

And speaking of that, Nico and Cassie have some lovely chemistry once they get over the fact that they don’t actually dislike each other. They’re really not disliking each other in the lift to the rooftop bar and when they get back to the hotel then all bets are off. At that point, if there was snow in London, it would’ve melted.

Whether it’s an author I’ve read 1000 times or someone fairly new to me like Olivia Spring is, it normally takes me a page or two to get into the writing style and voice of the author. So it was a lovely surprise that from the very first chapter I was all-in with this story and completely engrossed. Ms Spring’s voice is so friendly and descriptive, really engaging and with a good dose of British humour.

Not only is this a fairly short book (at just 150 pages) but it also takes place over the course of just a couple of days. Despite that, it feels very full and the chemistry and emotions are realistic and a delight to read.

Upon finishing the story, I was surprised and delighted to find that Nico and Cassie are actually getting a full length story in a future book called My Paris Romance. Had I not read that, I would have finished this book and been very satisfied with the ending and unaware there was to be more. What I’m trying to say is that I’m still classing this book as having a happily ever after as our pair are together and happy at the end.

This was another winner for me and another delightful tale from Olivia Spring. I loved the characters, felt the connection and could feel the magical sparkle of London at Christmas. This is the perfect book to snuggle up with alongside a cup of laden hot chocolate. And I found the story as hot, sweet and festive as my delicious drink. 5 stars.

This Christmas Novella was super cute with just the right amount of sweet & spiciness! This book is the second book in the Ten Year Crush Series and can be read as a standalone book (it is my first book that I have read by Olivia Spring).

Cassie has had some bad luck over the years at Christmas time. From giving the wrong
(embarrassing) gift to a boyfriend’s mom to a few boyfriends breaking up with her. This year since her family is off doing their own things for the holidays, she is planning a nice, quiet week-long vacation to do as she pleases. While she is out with her cousin and godson, they visit Santa where Cassie is put on the spot when Santa asks what she wants for her Christmas gift when her godson answers for her…a boyfriend!

She literally runs into the man who will change her outlook on Christmas when she is on the phone with her cheating, jerk boss who expects Cassie to drop everything to find his mistress the most sought after gift of the season. As she tries to tell her boss that it is impossible, this man (Nicolas), whom she sees as a gorgeous but rude French man, may be the only person who can help her find this gift!

But first, she needs to help him! As Cassie helps Nicolas check off items from his to-do/see list, she begins to see just how wrong she was about him. They share many of the same views and have so much in common. Did Santa grant her Christmas wish?

I love the bantering between these two characters. It is a fun and quick read! This insta-romance does show that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series - My Paris Romance to see what the future holds for Cassie & Nicolas!

Thank you to Olivia Spring & BookSirens for this advanced reader's copy in return for my honest review.

Title: My Lucky Night
Author: Olivia Spring
Hero/Heroine: Nico & Cassie
Trope: Enemies to Lovers

THE GOOD 😀

As with previous Olivia Spring books, this was a joy to read. Funny, festive and with the added bonus of a hot French bloke, My Lucky Night was a fabulous quick read.
Disillusioned by Christmas and anything to do with the festive period, Cassie was looking forward to spending time alone relaxing. However, when her douche of a boss called and demanded she find an impossible to get present, Cassie realised that this Christmas was going to be just as bad as previous ones. When she enlisted the help of Nico, the hot French bloke over in London for a short break, things took an interesting turn.
I loved Cassie and Nico, the banter between them was on point, and the chemistry between them felt natural and, at times, pretty intense. Throw in the gloriously festive setting of Christmas in London and what you have is a feel good, steamy romance.

THE BAD ☹️

Spencer. What a douche.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: A fun, feel good and steamy festive read

I read this Christmas book in the middle of June because I received an ARC for My Paris Romance from Olivia Spring. The ARC letter at the beginning of the book said it could be read as a stand alone but if you wanted to hear how Cassie and Nicolas met, read the novella, My Lucky Night. So being only 150 pages, I of course ran to read My Lucky Night. It was an absolutely adorable romance. It’s book #2 in the “My Ten Year Crush” series, but I didn’t read the first one. You don’t have to read #1 to understand #2. But I’ll probably go back and read it because Olivia Spring’s writing is so carefree.

This book is an adorable sweet little romance about Cassie and Nicolas. Cassie is a personal assistant for a two-timing businessman. Her job is to find the most popular item of the season, one that has been sold out for weeks, but she must find it in order to save her job. So she’s running around the night before Christmas Eve chasing the most impossible task. Which doesn’t bode well for her history with Christmas. She’s not a fan. None of them seem to go right. But she continues to run into the sexy French Nicolas who is visiting from Paris. They certainly don't have an instant connection but their banter is adorable. You will absolutely be running to the next book in the series, rooting for these two. So… that’s exactly what I’m headed to do. Sit on my porch and read a sweet romance while the summer storms roll in.

This follows on from my 10 year crush but can be read as a short Christmas standalone
When Cassie isn’t feeling the Christmas vibe (who doesn’t love Christmas!) she takes her godson to see Father Christmas and wants a boy she can play with. Cassie has been unlucky in love.
Olivia’s books always have been reading at the speed of light they are relatable, funny and keep you guessing on whee as is going to happen next!! Well I won’t give too much away but who wouldn’t want to meet a handsome French man 😉
They both help each other out with a turn of events it’s all about being kind and helping with good deeds over Christmas right (abit like a puppy not just for Christmas but all year around!)!
I’m looking forward to reading book 3 which is out in the summer.

This afternoon I am delighted to share my review for the novella My Lucky Night by the lovely Olivia Spring, this story joins Cassie as she takes an unexpected trip around the festive sights of London with the rather gorgeous Nicolas.

I loved the setting for this story and how Nicolas is first introduced into the story. As a family we love a trip to London at Christmas, so that we can experience the magic of the lights and the various festive delights. From ice skating to mulled wine there is something festive for everyone amongst this delightful story and I could have just kept reading as she teased my taste buds and reminded me of all the festive fun that we can have in our wonderful capital. I would have loved to have kept reading as I was enjoying the story and the sparks that started to fly between them both.

The perfect festive read for any romcom lover, within the first few pages it had my full attention and it was a great fun read to enjoy in the lead up to Christmas.

This book was absolutely brilliant! It only took me 2 days to read as there was no way I could put it down! An incredibly brilliant read!

In this book we meet Cassie , a lovely , sweet , kind , caring character that really did feel real to me . She is sadly unlucky in love and Christmas really isn't her favourite time of year anymore. She does have a super supportive sister and nephew though which help her through everything and when he nephew asks Santa for a man for her , she doesn't believe that will happen....but maybe fate has something for her!

We also have the gorgeous , sexy, Nicolas , I am pretty sure that anyone reading this will wish he was real and was in their life! He is the sweet man who ends up being the only person who can help Cassie find the present her boss is demanding to get for his wife. As we follow them on the adventure to get the present we fall more in love with both characters!

This is definitely one of them books that puts you on a rollercoaster of emotions and sucks you right into the book, you feel empathy for the characters. The setting is described perfectly everywhere they go so you can clearly picture it in your mind. I love this series and can't wait to read the next one!

Olivia Spring is one of my favourite authors, and My Lucky Night is the second in the My Ten-Year Crush series, but you absolutely can easily read this as a standalone. I think if you do, you’re definitely going to want to read My Ten-Year Crush too!

This book gave me serious ‘Love, Actually’ vibes, although I think that was entirely down to the setting being London during a snowy Christmas. If you love festive reads, then this will not disappoint.

Cassie and Nico were a great couple once they got over the misjudged initial meeting, so although technically it could be classed as an enemies to lovers trope, they are enemies for such a small moment in time, before they find themselves caught up in the romance of a festive London. Nico definitely fit my book boyfriend ideals, especially with the sexy French accent (entirely in my head as I read the book!). I really enjoyed the way they interacted with one another and loved their hobby connection.

I loved Cassie meeting Santa with her nephew Paul and her interactions with Santa before she met Nicolas. The day progresses with Cassie helping Nico complete his bucket list of Christmas in London, and there were some entertaining moments, together with lots of giggles along the way.

This was such a fabulous festive book, with mulled wine and mistletoe, sexy moments, colouring books and a gorgeous Frenchman in a very Christmassy London. The perfect festive vibes.

Thank god i finished it idk how much more i couldve taken 😭 sorry but i didn’t really enjoy this book.. it was written cringe, it was pretty rushed i know this is only a novella but still some parts were pretty rushed.. idk why cassie was so pissy and snappy the entire time (in the beginning) when she was with nicolas? When she was on the losing end? And he was trying to help her but she just kept snapping at him it was so?? She kept complaining and being rude to him when he was only helping her and idk why he put up with that because I wouldn’t have 🥴 idk I just didn’t like cassie at all really.. I didnt hate the book but I definitely didn’t like it.. and during the sex when she spoke french idk WHY non local speakers speaking that language (and during sex) just makes me feel so….. CRINGE. And weird. Like why .. just speak in english

I read the synopsis for ‘My Lucky Night’ and it certainly sounded like the kind of read that I needed at that time- a fun, light hearted and distracting read. Well it was certainly all that and so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘My Lucky Night’ but more about that in a bit.
I loved the character of Cassie and I warmed to her from the very start. In fact, I took to her so well that it was almost as if she had become a friend of mine. She is a lovely young woman who isn’t a fan of Christmas as things seem to go wrong for her around Christmas time. I could identify with that as I am not a fan of Christmas either as I lost my Dad shortly before Christmas a few years ago. Anyway that’s enough of me and back to Cassie. Cassie has a job but to be perfectly honest her boss needs a slap across the face a few times with a wet flip flop for his attitude and the way he treats Cassie. Cassie isn’t that lucky in love either although that could soon change. What happens? Well for the answer to that question and so much more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out as I am not going to tell you.
As soon as I started reading ‘My Lucky Night’, I started chuckling away and I don’t think I stopped chuckling until after I finished reading the book. To say that reading ‘My Lucky Night’ became addictive is a bit of an understatement. I would pick the book up only intending to read a chapter or two but I would become so wrapped up in the lives of Cassie and the other characters that I would still be sat there reading half a dozen chapters later. I had my own suspicions as to what was going to happen and I had to keep reading to see if I was on the right track or if I had wandered down the wrong path entirely. ‘My Lucky Night’ is a novella rather than a full length book and so it didn’t take me long to get through the book. I found ‘My Lucky Night’ to be a fun and festive read, which held my attention throughout and which kept me amused.
‘My Lucky Night’ is extremely well written and then some. Olivia has one of those writing styles that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. For me, the story hit the ground running and maintained a fairly steady pace throughout. Olivia clearly cares about her characters and she makes them sound so realistic that they seem just as real as you and I. I always find that a sign of a good book is when I become far too involved in the story and talk to the characters as if they can hear me. That’s exactly how I felt about ‘My Lucky Night’. Olivia has the knack of making the reader feel as though they are part of the story and at the heart of the action.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘My Lucky Night’ and I would definitely recommend it to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Olivia’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

When Santa grants you your wish…

Cassie has had enough of Christmas. Each Christmas was a disaster the last years, so this year, she wants to spend it home alone, with a bunch of movies.
When with her godson Paul she visits Santa in his grotto, she is surprised when the good old man asks her what she wishes for Christmas. Of course she doesn’t expect him to give her for real ‘a boyfriend to play with’.
And then her most annoying boss demands her to find the most wanted and most impossible Christmas gift, otherwise…
And apparently the only person that can help her, is the most sexy Frenchman she has ever met. Ever met and also literally just met… Because Cassie and Nicolas has clashed a few times in just one day, and Cassie is sure that Nicolas is arrogant, irritating and no matter how good he looks, his behaviour is a real turn off (a little bit).
He is ready to help her on this impossible quest for the gift, but has something he wants in return…
The more Cassie and Nicolas are together on their missions, the more Cassie realizes that Nicolas is not what she thought. And with Nicolas, maybe she will feel differently about Christmas and maybe Santa did grant her her wish?

Ooooh I ADORED reading this story!!!
it was funny, sweet, heart – warming and at some occasions even steamy!!!

I understood why Cassie wanted to celebrate Christmas alone and on her conditions. If you had one bad Christmas, okay that’s bad luck.
But having year after year ‘incidents’ during the seasons, well, nobody deserves that!
And to make things even worse, her boss is asking to achieve the impossible. Reading about what he wants, when he wants it and for who the gift was, made my blood boil…
Surely my boss shouldn’t be calling me during my holidays, demanding for things he should arrange himself. Being a PA doesn’t mean to be a housekeeper!

But despite her doing what her terrible boss demands, I loved how she stood her ground against ‘injustice’.
It was hilarious to see her argue with Nicolas when he skipped the queue, when he didn’t look where he was going. And then to do the same, more focused on her phone and bumping into, yes you guess it, Nicolas!

However, I also loved the kindness both characters showed. Nicolas is ready to help Cassie to find that gift, and he only asks her to help him to thick all the boxes on his to do list.
And before you start to think weird things, that was exactly the kind of list I would like to complete myself!

This was a hilarious story to read, but also a wonderful story to read. I loved reading how Cassie and Nicolas spend the day together, seeing how the attraction starts to grow, even making me frustrated at each time when there is a kiss in the air, something comes in between.
And reading how Nicolas manages to make Cassie do things she has bad memories of… my heart just melted each time!
Seeing how they both learned from each other (no phones, stepping outside your comfort zone) was marvellous, and let me tell you, an elevator will never be the same again!!

This (rather too short for my liking, because I wanted MORE MORE MORE – even after reading the bonus chapters) was just perfect, just as I expected from this author.
It is exactly what everyone needs to read during the festive holidays. It will restore your faith in Santa and that even the most impossible wish can come true!

While I’ve never had any inciting incidents that cause me to steer clear of Christmas cheer, I could relate with Cassie on her desire to spend her holidays at home, alone. After all of the horrible experiences she’d had around that time of year, she wants to let the day go by like it’s just another number on the calendar.

When it comes down to it, she has a choice: to stay indoors away from everyone and everything, or to spend the holiday season with the most infuriating, yet most gorgeous man she’s ever met in her life. What to do, what to do….

My Lucky Night was a really cute and fun experience. Aside from her obnoxious boss, who made me grimace more than a time or two, I really enjoyed watching and seeing where things would end up for Cassie and Nicolas. He’s not at all Cassie’s type, but as the story unfolds, we get to see that not all is as it seems, for either character. The premise behind how the two meet, and how they find themselves “stuck” together was a really unique way to get things rolling, and I enjoyed going along for the ride.

I was really surprised–and in a good way–about the steam level factor in this book! It did not deflect from the cuteness or the fun, adding another layer of extreme spiciness! Hello Nicolas! (The elevator scene) Letting down her hair so to speak, and releasing her inhibitions shows a good amount of character evolution for Cassie. This is the same person who had started out with the bah humbugs, and I felt the transition was done in a nice way, with good pacing. Even after a major bump in the road makes Cassie question everything she knows about Nicolas, you can tell that the growth she’d acquired over chapters is still there, enabling her to handle things head-on.

If you’re looking for a holiday read that offers up a spicy kick, this one is it!

Ooh la la!

Are you ready for a fun festive spicy read?

You guys are in for such a treat!

I have a feeling Santa is going to be inundated with Christmas wishes from my fellow bookworms for gift-wrapped BBFs under their trees this year if Nicolas is anything to go by *bites lip*… *mutters under breath* (along with a year’s supply of ‘special’ batteries! *snorts*)

Cassie’s story came along just when I needed it. I was suffering from MTYC withdrawal (totally self-inflicted as I have the author’s back catalogue to catch up on) and needed another dose of OS goodness.

I was full of Christmas spirit (steady!) after joining Cassie and Nicolas on a whistle stop tour of London’s festive delights!

There were so many highlights for me in this jam-packed novella; Paul at the grotto with Santa (out of the mouth of babes, eh?), a perfect meet-cute, ice-skating (I could totally relate to Cassie here. Remind me to tell you the story of teenage me and my Papa’s ‘bum in a sling’ comment!), The Lift scene (capitalisation fully warranted) and return of the fanny flutters.

🎶 There's magic in the air this evening… 🎵

Do not question The Muppets lyric. It’s best to leave the inner workings of my mind alone. Honestly, it just popped into my head as I was reading *shrugs*. It really had nothing at all to do with a certain Frenchman’s magical tongue *blushes*.

Now, I hear tell we’re off to Paris next year to continue Cassie and Nico’s story. *nods* Yup, agreed, waiting sucks and I can feel the fudge-en-ing from here, but *deep breath* we know it’ll be worth it.

In the meantime, sing it with me…

🎵 Tis the season to be jolly and joyous… 🎶

Meeting Nicolas . . .

This is a quick fun read with a theme of enemies-to-lovers with a holiday flair. Cassie isn’t fond of Christmas and wants to stay at home without any further incidents in her life. Her boss, however, won’t make that possible with his annoying tasks. He had her shop for gifts for his wife and, knowing the super expensive Icon hair dryer would sell out fast, Cassie bought it early. Now her boss, who was going to take his wife’s gift and give it to Sally instead, needs another impossible favor. His wife always snoops and opened the gift early, so he wants Cassie to get another one for Sally… even though they are all sold out. This is not turning into the quiet day at home she needs.

Then Sally bumps into a French tourist named Nicholas and he will help her get the hair dryer somehow IF she agrees to show him around like a tour guide for his brief stay here in London. Will he come through for her and find a hair dryer? Will Nicolas teach her to love Christmas again as they decorate a tree together? And will all her new memories and the discovery of all the good things in her life that far outnumber the bad make this a Christmas to remember as he takes her to Paris to continue their celebration? And best of all, she’s quitting her job with her ungrateful boss. Is she ready to find happiness at last?

What a fun Christmas rom com! Seeing the sites of London at Christmas - with a Frenchman - in the snow. . . Dreamy!

Cassie has had years of bad luck at Christmas, so she plans to sit this year out at home alone. But first she has to visit Santa with her best friend and godson, and she bumps into a rude (but sexy) Frenchman. Then she bumps into him a few more times. She has to find a last minute gift at her boss’ request, and the French guy says he can help get it. In exchange, Cassie shows him some London sites and helps Nicolas mark some items off of his London bucket list. Turns out he isn’t a rude French guy after all. The sweet romcom gets suddenly steamy. (I was surprised.) But of course Cassie’s good Christmas can’t last. Or can it?

Parts of this book are really charming and sweet! Great side characters of the best friend, Bella, and her son, Paul. Also fabulous descriptions of the London sites that make you want to visit. Cassie and Nicolas are sweet and cute - then pretty steamy. Some aspects seem choppy, but it’s short and British - and has some French and broken English dialogue.

It’s a fun Christmas novella - short and sweet (and spicy.)
There are bonus chapters to download with the ebook to add in fun snowy scenes and to give hints as to where the story might go. I’m rooting for Cassie and Nico!

Well, this may only be a little book at just 150 pages but boy oh boy does it pack a punch! It will leave you a little hot under the collar and wanting more, or encore! should I say..?

This is set in London at Christmas and it is just the perfect backdrop for this storyline, I felt like I was in a little Christmas bubble and was fully transported to the vaguely familiar streets. It's actually made me so excited to get trawling round the streets looking at all the lights and festive window displays, especially if I could be holding a hot mug of gluwein to. Isn't there just something magical about hot drinks in the freezing cold...

Cassie hasn’t exactly had the greatest track record when it comes to Christmases but you can feel that spirit radiating towards her from her nephew, Paul. His sheer joy and excitement for meeting Santa is infectious and I had to chuckle a few times at his innocent comments - even if I could see the redness creeping up Cassie’s face! You’ve got to love kids haven’t you… they really do pick up everything!

I loved this book and my only criticism is that it finished too soon! Although I was very grateful to the bonus chapters from Olivia’s newsletter and I seriously cannot wait for book 3! Oui, oui, oui to more books please Olivia!!!

Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My Lucky Night by Olivia Spring

Cassie's bad luck around Christmas time has made her somewhat of a grinch. However, when a handsome stranger crosses her path, he might be the one to change her luck and make this season magical again.

This steamy little novella was a delightful read to put me into the mood for Christmas season! I was a little scared at first because one of the Mcs is French, and I've rarely seen good representation of bilingual French character. But, this one was great! No spelling mistakes in the little snippets of French and it flowed naturally! I loved how Nicolas had a list of Holiday experiences he wanted to go through, he's my type of man alright! Enemies to lovers in a novella is a difficult one to pull-off, especially if the main characters are strangers at the beginning, this one felt a little rushed, but their connection felt genuine so it did not bother me much. I actually really enjoyed the single point of view of the story, leaving Nicolas a little mysterious to the reader and having us wonder what's hiding behind that gorgeous accent and flirty words.

Thank you to Olivia for sending me a digital copy of her book for free in exchange for an honest review. As always all thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.

The story
Cassie has always felt like Christmas is a particularly unlucky time of year for her. There have been breakups and mishaps galore. But this year, Cassie meets charming Frenchman Nico in the coffee and donut queue when she thinks he is pushing forward. When he overhears she needs help locating the sold out Icon hairdryer for her boss, he offers to help locate one in exchange for her help on his Christmas activity list. One magical (and pretty lucky) evening follows… there is hunting down of Christmas lights, a Christmas dinner and party with ice skating, all set with London as a backdrop.

My thoughts
I am definitely reading this series backwards 😉 I loved book three in the series, My Paris Romance, which starts where My Lucky Night begins. This gorgeous Christmas themed novella shares the charming meeting between Londoner Cassie and Parisian Nico. I loved how they are an unlikely pair on the surface but when it comes to their values, attraction and interests, they are very much on the same page. The ice skating scene where the stars align gave me shivers and had me smiling. This is a perfect, feel-good, holiday themed read 🎅
