Certainly a worthy read if you're interested in the basics of psychology.
I found the first few pages boring however the middle of the book is beautiful, and mostly continues like that until the end. I think the main issue with this book is the very brief overview of complex topics, you simply cannot understand some concepts after reading a paragraph on them. However if those topics were discussed in length then this book would be 10,000 pages long.
I found it much easier to understand the parts of Jung, Freud and Lacan. Likely due to having knowledge of these theories prior to reading this book. A reader of this book certainly benefits from having some general idea of basic psychology theories before reading.
It's a nice introduction of psychology. But given the wide topic and low page count, it sometimes feels like the book is going from one thing to the next very quickly wich can sometimes feel a bit jarring. Even though the book provides information on a big part of the paychology field. It never goes too in bept on any of the topics it discusses. On one side this makes it the perfect book to read if you're just starting an don't know anything on the topic. But it can also leave you wanting a bit more explanation.
As someone who loves Psychology, this book was amazing. Read through things I’ve learned in the past, and even learned new things! Really fun to see how Psychology has changed over the years. So much was talked about in the book. It was great. Definitely recommend if you want to learn more about yourself and how people work and such.
