deze is voor jente en tessy die niet geloofden dat ik dit boek deze maand eindelijk zou uitlezen

anyway dit is een van de boeken die al jaren bij mn currently reading staat en ik nu aan het afwerken ben. het is duidelijk dat ik dit begonnen ben aan het begin van mn studie geschiedenis, want dit hoef je als je eenmaal historicus bent niet meer te lezen. vond de historische feitjes oprecht wel leuk en leerzaam, maar alles net te oppervlakkig, onduidelijk of onzinnig, maar oh well daar adverteert het boek natuurlijk ook mee dus viel te verwachten. prima boek om door te bladeren, maar dat is het dan ook wel :)

In this book important historical events are described in a fun and concise way with a mix of interesting facts. Some subjects were described a bit too concisely if you had less prior knowledge about this subject because some important details were missing. However, you could get acquainted with these historical events and this is of course also the intention of this book. Getting acquainted with historical events in two pages. It is certainly a nice book for the history lover.

The book title should have been edited to western instant history + other minor titles related to other civilizations.

The pyramids, Ottoman Empire , andulsia, Hannibal,….etc all theses events were missed or mentioned in minimum.

The book is designed to reflect that only western cultures, figures are the history, except few here and there.

Anyhow it give a good overview on history but missed a lot of instants

Useful for if you want to have some knowledge of history events, with facts, figures, people and events covered on 1 page only, yet some of the topics are actually quite in depth, grouped into 'categories.' The 'categories' are Early Modern times, 19th century, war years and the Cold War to the present day. On the surface it might seem that it is written mainly for children, but in my opinion it provides an insight into history for the young and old, as there is something for all. Originally published 2019, so perhaps it would benefit from an updated or revised edition so the list of US presidents at the back is correct, however anything that gets written will eventually be outdated, and the information was correct at time of going to press, so this is only a minor quibble on an otherwise great 'beginner's guide' to history.

Instant History is comprised of brief summaries of different historical events from the Early Modern period to the present. The language used is incredibly accessible and interesting to read, and the author gives basic key facts for each event. While I dislike the cover, the aesthetics of the inside of the book were second to none, and I genuinely enjoyed flicking through. While I am a history student, I imagine this woud be of interest to most people! I would for sure reccomend this book, and would be interested in reading the other subjects in this series.

If you aren't looking for in-depth knowledge of history then this is your book. It skates across history giving you a little taste of the highlights of history. This should be mandatory reading for everyone. Knowledge is power and this gives you a little bit on all the monuments events. Easy read with pictures, charts and antidotes. Get the most education in the shortest possible time with this little book. Highly recommend to everyone from kids, to college and university and all adults.

This book is a great resource for anyone interested in learning about history from different parts of the world. It’s packed with information, but it’s not meant to be a comprehensive study. The author did provide some additional reading materials, though, if you want to learn more about the events covered. Overall, I had a great time reading this book and I hope they make an updated version in the future.

Good (and fast) read to increase general knowledge without going into too much details. Like infographics; good for daily 10mins read. Those histories I am particularly interested in - will take my time to read up more!
