Blake

I may have made my ex-boyfriend’s life a living hell, but now that I’ve been outed, my ego’s been knocked down a peg or two. Thanks, karma.

Just because my dad is the university president doesn’t mean I should suddenly be the poster boy and advocate for the LGBT community. At least this student group is a great excuse to check out Court, the super hottie who I happened to see sporting chaps at his family farm this summer. Hello, new obsession.

But do I even deserve someone as good as Court?

Court

I’ve been drooling over Blake for three years, but he’s been off limits…closeted and hooking up with my best friend. Yeah, this is definitely a disaster waiting to happen. Do I want to light that fuse for a shot at being with him? Yup, I’m totally going to remind him what happened between us freshman year, consequences be damned!

But even if I can get a pass on the bro code, is Blake dangerous or just misunderstood?

-insta-attraction but it’s a little complicated
-low/no angst

Not my fave of the four books in this series but Court and Blake are just so love-able, I couldn’t give them less than four stars. Even though things seemed rushed, their feelings felt believable. I mean it’s only 184 pages so…….🤷🏻‍♀️

Can be read as stand-alone but you will definitely get more out of it if you already know the characters from previous books and have background/character development on the boys this book focuses on.

goood read hopefully it’s another soon

***Spoilers splash here and there***

Not disappointed at all. But I do wonder though, Will there be a book with Cormac, Court little brother. I surely hope so. Because he’s going to be going to MU. Hopefully, if so I do wonder who he’ll end up with. Maybe VanDyke?

Plus there’s Gavin too, I did wanted a book with him and see if he’ll find someone. Fingers crossed 🤞🏾

So anyways, I figured that Blake wasn’t a bad guy even though he was wrong in the book with Gucci. But to learn the reason why he did what he did when it came to Gucci was understandable. It wouldn’t have worked with Gucci anyways.

Because he didn’t understand the reasons why Blake hid his sexuality and didn’t want to come out at that time. Whereas Court, understood and understand the reason and still was there for Blake when he was ready. More so with the prom situation. Because let’s be real Blake dad is a horrible man . It didn’t matter what Blake wanted or said his dad wanted him to do what he wanted him to do.

His dad did deserved a beat down in my opinion. Especially when trying to get rid of yet another one of Blake’s boyfriends. I was glad when Blake didn’t let that happened. Not only that his mom told him dad how it was. I was glad because at least his dad came around in the end.

Even though he did tried to control the job situation with his son. Though Blake didn’t take his offer. I was glad for because in the end Blake got to be happy with Court. With the job he wanted and being with Court in their own place on the farm.

I love this series!

I was so excited for Court and Blake's story, especially continuing from the last book. Everyone loves a good redemption story! I really enjoyed this book in the series, I read it in one day, couldn't put it down, and I'm hoping there's another book with Court's brother as an MC!

If you're looking for a feel good MM romance with all the feels, look no further!

I hope after reading Pucked Up Love you'll love Blake as much as I do. If you read Out With A Bang, then you know I had my work cut out for me redeeming Blake. But there's always two sides to every story.... I didn't even plan to write a book for Blake, but I couldn't resist... Famous last words, "I can change him!" lol. In this case though, Court stands a real chance. If anyone can do it, Court can.

I truly enjoyed this follow-up to "The Tie-Breaker." With all the grief Blake gave Gucci in that story, I was ready for some major payback in "The Icebreaker." But that isn't what I got. Instead, I was given a sweet story of hiding pain behind arrogance, regret, redemption, and taking chances. And I liked it even more that I thought I would.

Being forced to be the campus LBGTQ poster boy for his homophobic dean and father puts Blake into the limelight for all the reasons he doesn't want. It really adds to his feelings of being used and discarded by anyone he has ever cared about. But he also comes to the realization that his inner hurts do not give him the right to hurt others in turn. And THAT is the biggest revelation I never thought Blake would come to while reading the previous book. The fact that such a simple concept was so revolutionary to him was part of what made Blake a relatable character - rather than just the cookie-cutter bad-guy-turned-good trope character. He had to do a lot of soul searching to understand his past misdeeds and why Gucci wasn't seeking his social demise. And he had to have help - which he struggled to ask for because that meant being vulnerable in front of someone else.

Court was truly torn between his loyalty to his friend and his feelings toward Blake. With his quiet strength, he made the perfect foil for Blake. I loved the interaction between the two men. I hope the next book in the series features Court's brother Cormac.

This book for adult readers because of language and steam level.

Recommended for fans of "Check, Please!", Alexis Hall, and Austin Bates.

I really liked Blake and Court's story. Blake seemed like a jerk in the other books and Court I wasn't really sure how I felt about him.

Blake is the typical misunderstood guy. He's known he's gay but has an awful dad that dictates everything in his life and isn't accepting of his life choices. He doesn't think he deserves good things in his life. I really felt for him. His dad was really awful at times.

Court has been pining for Blake for the last three years. He's been holding back because of his friendship with Gucci. Once Gucci tells him there isn't a bro code he has to hold up to, Court immediately goes after Blake.

These two are absolutely perfect for each other. Court is exactly what Blake needs in his life. He cares for him in a way that Blake has never had. Courts mom and brother accept Blake so easily.

The only thing that I struggled with in this book was Blake's dad. We go from his dad not accepting him, not agreeing with any of his decisions, not trying to really help the LGBTQ community, to it seeming as though he does. What changed? The argument with his wife over Christmas break? The hockey fight with the other team? It's like that was skipped over. I think it should've had a little more time in the pages because Blake's dad was such a jerk and was really the reason why Blake acted the way he did for so many years.

All about self-discovery
4.5
It's a good romance, hot, but also tender, between Blake and Court. Each will simultaneously reveal themselves to themselves, to the other and to those around them, all in a university and sports context where homophobia is latent.
Blake is definitely one hell of a character who comes to terms with his sexual orientation after being in hiding long enough, but who is now being manipulated by his homophobic father to promote a good image of the college of which he is the dean. As for Court, he is an activist in an association for their rights but above all he discovers Blake in a different light than the unattainable athlete, and does not know if he can allow himself a relationship with him.

Blake and Court . . .

Hockey player Blake Harrison was finally forced out of the closet, and it shook his arrogant posturing. His attention is now drawn to Court O'Brien when he saw him in riding chaps at the ranch. But he feels like he doesn’t deserve love after how he acted in the past.

Court has had a secret obsession over Blake for the past 3 years. Is it time to act on his feelings now that Blake is out? Court is a steadying influence and a good match for Blake. Will the two of them get together? If so, they have a lot of lost time to make up for!

I was really looking forward to this book! I wasn't sure that Blake Harrison could be redeemed after what he put Gucci through in "The Tiebreaker", but Billie Bloom made me fall in love with his character! Blake has had to take a hard look at himself since he was forcefully outed. Court O'Brien lands on Blake's radar during a horse riding photo op with his parents and he is highly intrigued by the sexy cowboy. Court has had a secret obsession with Blake since he had a run in with him freshman year, and being exposed to Blake on a daily basis isn't making his attraction any easier to get over. I loved how Blake toned down his normal cocky personality and became more vulnerable in his emotions. Court was a wonderful representative for acceptance and change in the LGBTQ community and that fueled Blake's desire to try and make things better for himself and others struggling to be accepted. These characters had scorching sexual chemistry and a connection that was just too incredible to ignore. I've enjoyed each book in "The Bromance Chronicles" and recommend the series.

Redemption for the villain

Blake is the villain in Gucci's story, and I wasn't really looking forward to his story. He hurt Gucci so badly, only thinking about himself, and although we only saw Gucci's side, it was hard to imagine how Blake could become a sympathetic enough character to warm to him, let alone see him a different light. As usual, Billie has done the impossible and redeemed him, though it doesn't hurt that she gave us Court to love as well.
Blake's story gave us the full picture about his time with Gucci and put their youthful relationship into perspective, once outside influences and the pressure Blake was under was revealed. Blake's self-worth had been severely eroded and he was a shell of a man, broken down and battered. He needed a special person to make him see that he did deserve to love and be loved and be happy.
Court had been crushing on Blake for three years but was best friends with Gucci and would never break the bro code. Their paths never crossed but circumstances led to Blake noticing Court and the attraction he felt for Court was instant and powerful. Court was a very laid-back, easy-going person who looked past Blake's self-loathing and self-doubt to see the real person underneath. He shored Blake up at every turn, encouraging, supporting and loving him, not giving Blake a chance to push him away.
Their story was beautifully written and had me completely hooked despite myself. As Blake fell in love with his cowboy, I fell in love with both of them. I'm sad the series has now finished but looking forward to whatever comes next from Billie. She's an instant one-click for me.

Hockey, frat, cowboy, sexy, LGBTQIA, fun, fast.

I adored this book and absolutely loved the series! This story is the final chapter in the Bromance series featuring frat boys and hockey players. Blake is the jerky jock who is outed and trying to find himself, quite Court a sweet, chill “cowboy” who sees the true heart under Blake’s scared bravado.

I was lucky enough to read the ARC of the first book and now the final one and what a great debut sports romance series. This is defiantly a must-read, all four of them are. With that said I wish they were longer, the first is a novella (I have no idea why as Parker and Greyson’s story is epic) and the other three books are quite short. They hit hard, fast and sexy, as a true “wham bam thank you, man!” However, I wanted more, more time with the characters, more insight into their worlds and what makes them tick, more time to watch them fall in love and grow into their own, more interaction with all the other characters. Each story including this one was incredibly heartfelt and sexy (did I mention the sexy because hot damn they are) yet things went by too fast and I was left wanting more.

This book was a great conclusion to the series and had a place for all of the other couples that we’ve fallen for but again, I wish there was more. I can only hope that after Bloom takes the genre by storm (because she’s going to) she will revisit this series and beef them up and give us a fuller more robust story.

As a side note, this series underwent a cover and title change for each of the 4 books and I’m not sure why (though I’m not a marketing wiz) but I did like the original titles better.

I want to thank Book Sirens & Author Billie Bloom for sending me an e-book copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
.
I enjoyed this book! I can’t remember the last time I finished a book in one day. It was nice to feel that again. This was an MM Romance, male on male, gay romance. I enjoyed diversifying my reading! This was my first go with a gay romance book.
.
Let me just start by saying, this book is spicy. Bloom does not hold back on erotica/sex scenes. What I enjoyed, it contained healthy romance and the importance of healthy relationships and respecting your identity/boundaries. This is a coming out story. A love story. An erotica book. An awareness to sex education and inclusivity reform on university campus’s. Lastly, it contained hockey and brought awareness to gay players in the NHL and college level hockey. I also enjoyed the Bromance in this book. There is a lot of inclusivity in queer friendships, the hockey team and fraternity on campus.
.
I was highly impressed with this book. Thanks again to Book Sirens and author Billie Bloom for gifting me a e-book copy!

omg absolutely loved!!

This was such a good story. Filled with angst, self love journeys as well as fighting for who can love. I was so glad to get Blake’s story after starting to like him in Johnny and Guccis story. He came off as the arrogant jerk but he masked all his pain with jokes and arrogance. His dad is horrible and although shows moments of being protective uses his power and influence to manipulate and control Blake. I loved how gucci finally saw how much Blake suffered through high school at his dads hands and forced closeting. And that they both grew up. Even Blake recognized that gucci wasn’t right for him and was not very accepting of his situation or mature about it. Loved court. He is amazing. And how he supports Blake. Their story is filled with steam, easy best friends almost type of romance where they just fit in all aspects. Love Blake’s new throat for equality and how he fought for it. That huge hockey fight was kick ass. Loved the ending!! Hopefully Gavin get a book and then we need one for cormac!!

This book read like a send off for this series that I have very much enjoyed. Blake definitely had the most personal growth of the series characters. Court, with his confident and quiet ways, was a place of refuge for Blake, who suffered from an unsupportive and overbearing parent. This series has pleased me with the frat house and ice hockey settings, and, now, with a horse farm and a cute college cowboy. This setting and Court’s nice family added to the plotline. The author writes excellent steam and how Blake and Court met was the first of many hot and imaginative scenes. It was great to have the reunion of all the couples from the series, those were some of the best scenes. I liked the preparation for the prom at the frat house and the dance for Blake and Gucci. Very enjoyable, as was this book, as was this series, or, as is this series. If it continues, I will definitely be reading!

This is the latest in Billie Bloom's series featuring gay hockey players. Blake, the latest to come out, is also the University President's son. His father is just as controlling as ever but trying to be politically correct. Court has a low profile on campus but belongs to the same fraternity as other gay hockey players. Bits of history from past stories come up. However, the two of them take a class together, and Blake sees what a great life Court has on his family's farm, where he is accepted and loved just as he is. Court is so sweet and calm, which does wonders for Blake's chronic anxiety. Their story of togetherness, pain and progress is good for the soul. The sex is scorching as well—my compliments to Billie Bloom on their ability to write these scenes with love and care.

Billie Bloom is a new to me author, her first book in this Bromance Chronicles series, is her debut novel. I’ve started this series three books in, and I loved it. An enjoyable, sexy m/m college romance. Blake Harrison is the closeted hockey jock that cowboy Court O’Brian has been lusting after for the past 3 years. Court is the dream guy that got away from Blake following an encounter in the communal shower that both of them have been fantasising over since freshman year. When Blake finally comes out as gay, he has so many obstacles to overcome, and with the help of Court he goes from strength to strength. A super sweet college drama, with a really enjoyable group of characters, all rallying for the same great cause. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

This is Court and Blake's story and it's such an adorably cute one. A cowboy who has pined for the hockey jock for 3 years finally gets his chance to be with him. Blake feels like he is undeserving of love and after being thrust out of the closet by blackmail realizes that the man he'd had a brief shower fling with on the first night of freshman year is none other than Court who he is currently crushing on. They get together and then work to bring pride to their college campus, win over Blake's bully of a father and University president and have a prom redo. Plus lots of steamy times in-between. High on romance, low(ish) on drama and swoon-worthy all around.

Not just an MM romance

Although this is billed as a MM romance, it is not the only thing it is. This story is about learning who you are and what is worth fighting for. It's about finding your path and making it work.

In previous books I wasn't struck on Blake. In fact a lot of the time I REALLY disliked the guy BUT this book you see a totally different side of him. A side not only does Court fall for but you the reader does too. Court is a horseman and he also is a calming influence. In my opinion, he sometimes could be a little too laid back and Blake sometimes a little too insecure / immature but the moments that matter they pulled it together. A brilliant read once again read within just over a day with plenty of breaks due to adulting.

I wasn’t sure if I was ever going to be able to like Blake, based on his behavior earlier in the series (it’s possible to read this romance as a standalone, but reading pervious works gives you full context on the characters and things that have happened before). I was happily surprised, however, that the Blake in this book is complicated, compelling, and totally capable of redeeming himself. There’s some lovely chemistry, physical and emotional, between Blake and Court, and their story is, overall, well worth reading.

I received a copy of this book for free from Book Sirens and this is my honest review.

I was intrigued by the blurb - redemption stories are always good - although I hadn’t realized it was the third book in an interconnected series and a direct follow-up to book two. I’d not read any of the earlier books. Fortunately this didn’t impact on my enjoyment of the story, which can easily be read as a standalone, but it did explain the flurry of name-checking at the start of the story that had confused me.

I enjoyed the story, Blake and Court were a great couple, although I found the writing style rather simplistic. I’d be interested to read future books.

The best of the series & what a redemption!!

This is a modern romance, the fourth in the series and must be read in order! Blake has been mentioned in all three previous books and let’s face it, he’s a dick (not in a good way)! But there’s always two sides of every story; underneath that arrogance and dickishness, is a great deal of pain. Court is the very best of men; it was going to take someone special for him for me to be happy but I never expected these two to find love in such a spectacular fashion! This was my absolute favorite book of the series and it was a pleasure to read!!

I love this series, and I needed to see how Blake would manage to redeem himself!! Well, it takes a hot cowboy on a horse that is what it takes! And Court is one adorable cowboy too! How can Blake resist and not change himself for the better for this guy? Court and Blake have amazing chemistry! Of course, there is drama with these two young guys but are hot and belong together! Story is told in both POV, so you get all the perspective! I received an ARC of this book and recommend for those who enjoy the antics and the drama of college age guys growing up and finding romance!

I really enjoyed this book. It was great getting to know Blake and watching him take a good look at himself, his life, and his choices, and accept who he is. He was cocky and a bit arrogant, but after being threatened and being forced to out himself, it knocked away some of that bravado; allowed himself to take down some of his walls and be able to show his vulnerability when it mattered. Court was such a wonderful character and a perfect rock for Blake. I loved watching their relationship develop and grow. A great romance. 5 stars.

I HATED Blake in the previous books, and could not imagine how Billie was going to successfully redeem him…but, of course, they did. He really comes into his own, working through the trauma of being closeted, and he’s also gifted with the angel that is Court.

Super hockey fan, no frills cowboy, and frat boy, Court is exactly what Blake needs. He is always there for Blake when he needs comfort or reassurance and never questions or makes demands of him.

I need the next book in the series, like yesterday!

Another great book in "The Bromance Chronicles". If you have read previous books in the series you may be skeptical when you see one of the MCs is Blake. You do not want to miss his story. This is a great story, Blake and Court are fabulous characters and their chemistry is off the charts! The story has a lot of emotions, romance and a bit of drama. It is a great read, I cannot wait for the next book by Billie Bloom.
