Batman needs a break. But with new vigilante Duke Thomas moving into Wayne Manor and an endless supply of adopted, fostered, and biological superhero children to manage, Bruce Wayne is going to have his hands full. Being a father can't be harder than being Batman, right?
CRC Payne is a freelance writer from Seattle, WA. Batman: Wayne Family Adventures is her first webcomic series. She spends most of her free time writing, reading, and drinking way too much tea.
A nice, and easy to read slice of life comic on Webtoon, isn't exactly special, but when it stars Batman and his extended family of sidekicks, a long time comic book fan like me would certainly notice it.
The light hearted approach is already a refreshing departure from the dark and brooding main line Batman comics that DC publishes. Thus, it stands out from the glut of Batman material sold in all comic book outlets whether brick and mortar, or electronic.
I’m not going to log 30+ episodes, so I’m just going to count this as one whole comic. Anyways, this is my introduction to DC comics, and the Batfamily, I love this so much. It’s so wholesome, and sweet, and really helps me distinguish and flesh out these characters so that I can dive into their individual, canonical and longer runs. I’ve always been told DC is better than Marvel in terms of comics, and this has already proved those people right.
IN LOVE WITH THIS WEBTOON! It's the BatFam we deserve; Bruce being a father and working through his issues, dealing with the trauma of the family, the issues and quirks.
Using this to log the first 25 episodes of the Webtoon. So glad I decided to give this a chance, it’s wholesome and funny and full of heart when it needs to be.
This is an ongoing webcomic, but I just have to tell you this thing is good for the soul and warms me from the inside out. All the grit of the superheroes you love, with all the gold of found family and sass bucket children. Need more of this in my life. <3
I LOVE the Bat Fam. Just from the amazing cover art and short synopsis, I knew I was going to get sucked in.
Wayne Family Adventures gives a fun and lighthearted look into the lives of the many Bat Fam members. From Robin to Black Bat to Signal, we get to see the line between superhero and civilian blur for each character as both their personal joys and struggles are brought to the surface.
[I'm not logging all 51 individual episodes of Season 1, so this will count for the whole series.]
Whether you're a beginner to DC comics or already deep in the fandom, I really recommend this fun and easy read. 4.5
[My bias did sneak in here... The scarcity of ✨ Nightwing ✨ in this series has me dropping it from a 5 to a 4.5.]
This is the best, funniest and most wholesome Batman comic I've ever read. We follow the whole Wayne family in their everyday day life with everyday struggles, and their superhero lives that are sometimes easier than being a teenager or a super rich playboy, single dad. I love the illustrations and the story often makes me either laugh out loud or want to give them a hug.
I read Every issue but I’m only counting one so my numbers for the year don’t take a massive spike bc of webtoon but I still spent a good two hours reading so.
i read every issue but im just logging this one bc i don’t wanna add 36 books to my goodreads anyway the amount of serotonin this gave me is astronomical and i love my waynesties so much
Season 1: It was really cute reading that, i don't know if it's canon i don't think it is? but i like to imagine the batfamily are interacting that way
I read the first 49 issues but no bind up yet. Really, really enjoy the characterization and slice of life family dynamics that dig deep into the history and canon of the characters when keeping the relationships central.
As someone who loved the batfamily for years and always wanting something happy and wholesome with them i am so happy this comic is a thing! There were artist who used to do cute comics about them(💓) and i love that this comic is official
Read it!! You dont have to know too much about them and you can take it just as a funny slice of life(if you fight villians daily) comic about siblings
*shelving this as a representation of me following the webtoon*
I know next to nada about the DC characters but this comic happens to be everything I didn't know I needed AKA hilariously wholesome superhero family shenanigans🤩
Anyways, amo a la Batfamily and I love you Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne. El cómic está disponible en Webtoon
I'm currently on episode 39 - secret identity. I just wanted to record my thoughts somewhere about this series without inflation my books read on Goodreads. Then I remembered I had this shelf exactly for that reason 🤦.
So episode one really surprised me with how it felt like batman but without all of the doom and gloom.
I'm not a batman comic reader so my knowledge of all of the characters were vague at bet. I don't know who Duke was, Damian I did, I do mix up Jason and Tim as the Robins, the daughter of commissionair Gordon was a Batgirl but who she is now and who the other women are...
That doesn't matter though! You get a good feel for the characters even without knowing who they are, which is marvelous.
I also enjoy the art style. If I had to choose one kind of style for American comics this would be it.
Cute, funny, and a quick read. Maybe too much personal information, but I've started listening to audiobooks and reading these short comics while pacing to try to lose some weight; I don't like taking walks or pacing on it's own, so instead of making it unbearable and miserable, I stay inside, keep warm and pace while enjoying some books.
I started re-reading this series this morning because I needed something truly light as my audiobook is a little grim.
This did the trick and picked me up immediately. Signal moves into Wayne mansion and somehow everyone is in character, but this is far, far less serious than most Batman comics. Excellent.
I'm going to count this as the entirety of Season One, which I've now read through twice (and planning a third).
It's extremely cute, a lot of fun, and very wholesome. While some of the characterizations are understandbly softened, all the characters are entirely within the spirit of their characters and I think it works great here. Major kudos for being the best use of Duke Thomas thus far. (Justice for Duke!)
Can't wait for a collected physical release, if we get one. That'll be an immediate preorder for me.
