I think its a great book lots of great knowledge of the sport in there, but my problem with it is that it is very dated. The sport has evolved a lot from the time this was made and could be even more beneficial for the young angler if we could get an up to date version. Another thing I would like to add is that although it gives the right information I feel that it also has a lot of empty facts that no one needs to know like how to make a hair jig like I already know just tell me about what I should through at what times.

really liked this book, however there were parts that did not fit with the rest of the important information in the book. Book could have been more california and local-oriented and could have been longer. Great tips, but should have described clearly what lures work best at which times of the year and in what bodies of water.

The first Bass Fishing book any angler should read; although it's dated, the content is still very relevant in todays modern fishing age. In a world where most anglers consult with YouTube for inspiration and knowledge, they should just reach for this book first and get properly educated ! 4 stars
