This 3rd episode was so totally, freaking awesome! Mackie's friend, Bernard, who was running the brewery, is violently murdered. Who killed him? Nobody seemed to have a motive, and yet, as in any good murder mystery, quite the list usual suspects. Then there is a ghost and a dangerous person from Mackie's past that won't leave her alone. Her imaginary cat, Tandy, who is part of Mackie's psyche is nowhere to be found, and yet, Mackie gets a couple of cryptic psychic messages from that cat. Mackie also has her neighborhood friends with whom she plays Bridge. And now, she is starting a "just for fun" band, where she plays the keyboard, her friend plays a guitar, and a new friend plays the bass guitar. And, of course, there is her love interest, Detective Dan, who has more than one meal with Mackie. Whoa! Wait a minute! Did I fail to mention some pretty awesome new paranormal skills? I gave this episode 5 big old fat stars, and can hardly wait for the next one to magically appear in my ever-loving Kindle!
So despite my less-than-enthusiastic desire to read another of these books, I figured I'd knock out the series. The romance between the female lead and the police detective is moving along very well ... but in this murder, the name of the murderer changes from the pages where he's introduced - to the pages when he's discovered!!! It's quite annoying! Also, as reluctant as Mackie has been to develop her skills, suddenly, she's quite powerful and almost kills someone with her abilities! I think I'm done with the light reads for now and looking for something more substantial again.
Shorter than all of them but not as good. Not interested in a middle age band, or PI, and Tandy is no longer there so there is no cat really because her real cat is barely in the story.
I started this series thinking it was a cat cozy but it is not. I really do not think it is good to put animals on the cover of cozies to make a person think it is something it is not. It is deceptive and a lie and doesn't make me think kindly of the publisher or the author.
This series is a fun, light experience with plenty of real world situations. The characters flew off the pages and I was right there in the scene. A great read.
The story continues and I love that the characters are growing and we see rather personalities develop. I love the paranormal element and can't wait for the next book
This is a well written and developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
