The raging beast with Sakura takes form and a new villain joins the scene! Our tale moves to the remote location of Sakura's lineage's temple where Aria is ready to stand her ground against the now materialized demon. But this new transformation has made a swap with Sakura's form and without him by her side, will Aria have the strength to protect the thousands who depend on her?
Chika Shiomi has an amazing talent for depicting chilling and provocative horror stories that appeal to both shojo and shonen readers. Having created manga since 1993, starting with short stories in Akita Shoten's Mystery Bonita magazine, she has had a bountiful career of publishing both long-running series and short stories that have become popular both in Japan and abroad. Shiomi-sensei loves to travel and listen to Guns 'n Roses.
I’m finding this series to be like what might have emerged if CLAMP and Yuu Watase had teamed up on a series. Night of the Beasts reminds me of both Tokyo Babylon and Ceres: Celestial Legend...but I enjoy those stories more than this one. Hopefully the latter half of the series will be more intriguing.
Series Review: Night of the Beasts was a short but very entertaining. The plot was unique and the characters had a surprising depth for the limited amount of time for character development. The ending was really heartwarming and perfect for the series. I recommend this to those who like the supernatural.
i'm really enjoying the shonen warping of this story. an early indicator was the art style, and now we get the heroine learning the moral lessons of the shonen hero, albeit with shojo drivers. nice.
