I’m alone.

Trevor and Brett are gone.

Because people are dead and they’re responsible.

But they can’t just run forever.

So I’m stuck in neutral. I don’t know what to do.

The only way I can move forward is to find them and convince them to come back.

But I have no idea where to look.

I have to do something, though.

I have to find them.

Before it’s too late.

WARNING: Dusk is the sixth book The Sunset Beach High series. This is NOT a standalone and since it's part of an ongoing series, you may find some cliffhangers. But they're worth it! It contains mature themes, sexual content, and profanity. If you're not a fan of those things, this isn't the book for you. But if you like serious stuff mixed with lots of bad words and some sweaty sex, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU.

Presley is BACK to Find Trevor & Brett & Rescue From The Evil Drug Dealers

Sunset Beach book Six continues off from where ‘Dawn’ book five, ended.

FYI **Spoilers Ahead**

As you may be aware if you are reading the series, Trevor ( Presley’s BF) & his best friend Brett had gotten themselves into a bit of bother due to Brett’s wayward life decision . ie: gambling.
Thus, the two found themselves having to work off his debt doing dugs runs for dealers the Marquez siblings, Sergio and Annabelle

However, this all went to poo when Presley & her group of girlfriends got curious about Trevors extracurricular activities chose to stalk him.

This leads to Presley, Trevor younger & cousin Sunny, getting in over their heads in San Rivero, the cliffhanger ending that McKayla is renowned for.

The start of this book has Presley doing lots of hand wringing, being stressed out as she hasn’t heard from Trevor for some time.

Considering he TOLD Her she wouldn’t due to circumstances both he, & Brett found themselves in, this isn’t surprising.

However, Presley is not happy.
She wants Trevor BACK! (Pout) She misses him terribly, well misses sleeping with him, & is worried about him.

Not able to stop herself, she starts to needle Sunny for information thinking that there might be something, ANYTHING that she knows that might help them discover where Trevor has gone.

Sunny is having none of this.
Still peed at Presley for the way things went down in San Rivero, & the way Presley had taken control (badly) of the situation, Sunny is dealing with some serious PTSD.

On top of THAT her wayward black sheep of a brother Dylan has shown up at her door, after deserting her, to say the two have issues would be an understatement.

But, Presley is like a dog with a bone & is determined to find out where Trevor is.
She needs to know if he is ‘okay’
So, she defers college upsetting her GF’s + Dad, & starts to dig for clues by working on Sunny.

Her persistence finally pay off when Sunny remembers about their family holiday destination of Catalina Island that Trevor loved.

So the two, plus Dylan, the brother Presley is not happy has joined them, head off on their search.
Presley taking the opportunity of the alone time with Sunny to try to make amends for what happened in San Rivero

Things look like they are going well, Dylan proving his worth, with his knowledge of the Island, quickly has Presley reevaluating her initial reservations about him.

Eventually, Trevor & Brett are found, & although they are peed, Presley, with the help of Dylan, are able to convince the two to come back to Sunset Beach.

Thanks to Dylan, with his knowledge of the drugs trade, HE is convinced that the Marquez family have been playing Trevor & Brett.

They all just have to take another trip down to San Rivero to met one of his old contacts to get the skinny on the family.
His contact can also help get the pesky police of their back over what happened.
For a price.
The thing his contact CAN’T do is get Sergio Marquez off their backs.

You see, Sergio blames Trevor & Brett for the demise of his sister.

And NOTHING is going to stop him from coming for them.

Can you guess what the cliffhanger is yet ?

This series has me perplexed.
I’m loving the plot, I’m loving all the twist & turns things are heading in.

What I am bothered with is Presley

She has the ability to ingrain herself into situations, circumstances that are beyond her control.
Then, places people in harms way when it all goes to S

She is determined to have her BF back & her perfect little life, to heck with anyone standing between that dream.

She isn’t beyond bossing people around, forcing her view point, as to how thing are going to go down, according to the gospel of Presley to get what she wants.

If Presley want her BF back? She going to get him.
If she wants Sunny & Dylan to patch up their differences? She will make that happen.
So, it’s refreshing when things go wrong for her
Dare I say, I relish it.
I just get sick of her thinking she can control everything.

So, to say I was happy about Sergio showing up, throwing a spanned in the works of her, & Trevor’s little world would be an understatement.

Also there are elements of this story that could use some tightening up.
The conversation at beginning between Presley and Bridget, seemed to go on forever
Also, I loved the bit where she first approach’s Sunny for help & Sunny tells it to her how it is

See. Presley overestimating her abilities.
She’s reckless.

Then we get Dylan inserted into the story, ex drug dealer, ex con, who is there specifically to help push the story along.

How convenient that Presley’s own clumsiness ends up putting her in his cross hairs.

He is Inserted into the story to provide us with backstory for Sunny
And well, to rekindle his broken relationship. ( I smell a spin off series)

So, Trevor is back in Sunset Beach, & Presley has got what she wanted.

Then Sergio show up

AND I’M HEAR FOR IT 100%

Let’s see if the rich kids get out smarted by the street wise gang banger.

These books took an unexpected turn and that turn ended up downhill.

A part of me really likes these characters but the other part makes me annoyed that the series has continued with such a dramatic storyline. I mean, I felt like I was watching an naff episode of Outerbanks.

It just seemed extremely unrealistic to me that these characters ended up in this predicament.

Not as good as the first 4.

Great follow up

This (book 6) was a wonderful, powerful follow up to book 5 in the Sunset Beach High series. Questions are answered, but the drama is far from over. I am looking forward to reading the finale (book7). However, I truly hope this author has a series where we get to follow the lives of, Brett, Bridgett, Gina, Maddie, Sunny and Dylan. She may already have one, I need to check that out. I wholeheartedly recommend this book/series and this author.

This book is the 6th in the Sunset beach series.
Each book was really great but this one really kept me on the edge of my seat for what would happen next. There are some places that are difficult, watching Presley and Trevor navigate their troubles. A trip to the beautiful Catalina island! And the addition of a new awesome character! And, yes another cliff hanger leaving you biting your nails in anticipation for the next book to come out!
A fantastic read by McKayla Box!

3.5 Things have kind of gone off the rails with this series. It could have ended beautifully with book 5 and an HEA. Now there’s just all this weird crap that the FMC and MMC have been dragged into. I still love these characters but this bummed me out. Glad the next book is the last and they get their HEA.

Lost

The whole crue is lost over the death of Jake. Presley comes home for Christmas break and all kinds of things go wrong and Trevor has to go into hiding. Presley just can't except that and goes looking for him.

It was a bit of a drag.. I feel like it didn't need as many chapters as it did.. I was so happy when Trevor finally let Brett have it for being the reason they got in the mess their in.. That was the only highlight in the book for me

Grammar errors in this book a bit more than the others… I’m still all in, head first in this series!
