The Scorecard

Rate this book
Pretending to be married to my brother’s best friend and my biggest enemy is the last thing I imagined I’d be doing.

But there was a thin line between lust and hate, and when I fell into bed with the NHL’s rookie playboy, I found out just how easy that line got blurred.

We were enemies with benefits, but then two pink lines changed itall.

Now he was bringing me back home to his family’s farm and faking it became real… in moreways than one.

He was meant to be the enemy but falling for him meant letting him win.

The Scorecard
Graham: 1
Me: 0

**The Scorecard is book 1 of the duet and is approximately 60,000 words. This book does end on a cliffhanger."

I decided to read this after seeing a post on the authors Instagram and it matched the mood, I was in so I dived into this duet. I have never read any of her books and I skipped the first 3 and even though a lot of the characters from previous books make appearances I knew pretty much the gist of the relationships/friendships between everyone to feel like I was confused.

We meet Graham who is known for being a massive player and having a girl for everyday of the week. I would have preferred if he was not such a pig tbh - it diminishes his initial reaction to our FMC who he says he has wanted and liked for years but then went off and slept with TONS of women and had a daily rotation going.

Emery is the sister of the first books MMC and Graham is one of his best friends. Hockey player and she's just graduated school and is a lawyer. I loved her ambition and we got to see the flashbacks of the moments that defined the relationship these two have with each other.

They eventually hook up and they both can't stop wanting each other, Emery hates that she wants him but isn't looking for anything special or a relationship which leads her to sleeping with him more and more while he is falling for her.

He does not have any relationship/sex with another woman after they initially hook up and we find out that he has been celibate for about a month prior to that. We do not get any former hookups showing up to cause drama and honestly part of his life dies out pretty quickly which I was happy about.

She ends up pregnant and these two spend the remainder of her pregnancy growing their relationship and feelings. They end up finding out they are having twin baby girls. While Graham is happy and excited for this new chapter, Emery is freaking out. They both lie to different people about being engaged. Graham lies to his mother and sister, and she lies to her boss and law firm partners/client.

At the end Emery has the twins and the last part of the book is a breaking news segment showing on television where they inform the world that Graham has been traded and is moving from Chicago to Washington - this is something that was never mentioned in the book, and I am sure will come as a massive shock to Emery and everyone involved.

When I picked this up, I had no idea that it was a part of a series because of which I didn't really get the dynamics between the characters and it was hard to remember who was who. But it was light-hearted, cute and swoony at times. I liked Emery for the first two chapters and disliked Graham because I thought he was too cocky and annoying but then Emery totally changed. She came off as a real brat to me tbh. She kept saying that she independent, successful and fiery but after a certain point, it seemed to be so fake, I just couldn't hear her going on and on about it anymore lol. She complained a lot when Graham wanted to take her to meet his mother and sister but when she needed his help, (to please her boos and snag a new client) she could lie real quick. She had double standards, was obviously selfish and I couldn't stand that. Graham was surprisingly a nice man and good with kids but that was his entire personality. The characters lacked warmth in a way and I just couldn't get their bond. And what even was that ending? I went into this book thinking that it's a standalone and after reading that last line in the book, it turns out that's not the case at all. I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would.

4.5!

Say hello to my new favorite Maren Moore book 🤩

Maren Moore ALWAYS delivers with the quick, fun, and fluffy reads with sports romance, spice, and pregnancy/single parent tropes that just make my heart happy, and this book was no exception!

I’ve been anticipating Emery & Graham’s story ever since I first fell in love with them in MM’s previous books, and I was not disappointed. Emery is an independent, hardworking lawyer that I found myself relating to, and Graham is just the biggest sweetheart EVER. This book had enemies w/ benefits + brother's best friend + fake-dating + pregnancy + guy falls first (& let me just say that he falls HARD). So basically, yes, this book was perfection. I also loved how family-oriented this book was and seeing appearances of the couples from MM's other books — very found-family-esque 💙

Overall, this book was just so. freaking. adorable. I’m so excited that there will be a 2nd book for more Emery & Graham content, especially after that ending! The development of this couple's relationship was lovely to see, and I can't wait for more of it. Need a month to pass by already 😫

Welcome back to the bubble gum magic of Maren Moore and her effervescently dreamy hockey DILF world full of swoony, dirty talking athletes and their sassy but sweet ladies. And at last we have our dreamboat, golden retriever of a hero Graham paired with everyone’s favorite spunky little sister, the incomparable Emery Davidson. Maren delivers yet another adorably sweet, heartfelt, and super sexy hockey romance- one with a delicious frenemies with benefits twist. AND I AM IN LOVE!

Hang on to your ovaries, because your next book boyfriend is here, and Graham will totally melt your heart and panties. We’ve all been anxiously awaiting for Graham, and MAREN DELIVERS! Graham is easily her most delicious hockey DILF to date. This loyal, playboy, fun-loving rookie transforms into a loyal, endearing, family-oriented, and adorably persistent leading man. Turns out our little playful puppy sidekick is actually quite a substantive man- he’s thoughtful, kind, generous, and patient. Which is a good thing because he’s coming up against the formidable Emery Davidson- who has Graham on the very bottom of her scorecard. Emery is my favorite heroine yet- she’s so sassy, so strong and resolved, clever and focused. She’s the perfect nexus of veiled vulnerability and self-assured bravado. And she’s just so fun! I want to be her bestie, even if she doesn’t love Graham like me. But like all Maren books, irritated heat soon turns into playful banter and steamy moments- and like all the insanely fertile crew in this batch, Emery and Graham find themselves trying to figure out more than just their frenemy chemistry.

We all knew we’d love these two- they are the TWO secondary characters I’ve been begging for, and how brilliant that Maren paired them together, because holy chemistry these two are fantastic. A tense but flirty chemistry evolves into one far more emotive and meaningful, and I loved seeing both of them, especially Graham, start to open up to each other, and turns out there’s about the hopes, fears, and aspirations of these two endearing characters. But what do we know? They are dynamite together. And Graham’s dirty mouth- HOLY PUCKS!

Unlike the others in this series, this one is a duet- so we have a cliffhanger to contend with and several loose ends that I’m not yet sure where Maren will take them. But I’m so invested in these two in their sizzling but sweet connection- their chemistry just dazzles. Yet again I’m swept away and charmed by Maren’s swoony spell. I’m desperate for Emery and Briggs to get their HEA- though we may have some obstacles to face before these two get on the same page. But rest assured, it will be a wild, fun, sexy, and lovable time getting there.

This is definitely my favorite Maren book so far, I was anticipating Graham & Emery book so much and it did not disappoint. First of all Emery defense became one of my favorite female characters!! A BADASS LAWYER YES I love her so much. Graham is such a cinnamon roll he’s so sweet and just wants to take care of Emery. Amazing enemies with benefits and also surprised pregnancy which you guys know is one of my favorite tropes ever.

I’m happy there wasn’t any miscommunication between them and that we saw these two getting closer and closer little by little, you can definitely sense their connection getting deeper. THE ENDINGGGG??!?!?? I really need the next book right NOW, I can’t wait to see Emery and Graham getting their happy ending with their babies.

i have been anticipating emery and graham’s books since the moment i met them… when maren told me they were actually getting a book TOGETHER??? i screamed 😩

i love both of these character so much individually. emery reminds me so much of myself and graham is that perfect, hot himbo that i am forever falling in love with.

enemies with benefits turned lovers is one of my favorite tropes, add in dirty talk, a surprise pregnancy with twins, and i’m a goner.

the chemistry between these two characters was 🔥🔥🔥 and i am counting down the days until the second part of this duet, because i HAVE to know what happens next… like yesterday 💫

****AVAILABLE NOW****

4 STARS

I really liked this one.

1. It was all my fave tropes - hockey romance, enemies to lovers, teammate’s sister.
2. The steam was so good.
3. Great guy group of friends.

I designedly prefer a grumpier hero. Graham was a bit of a cinnamon roll, but I enjoyed his character.

Definitely a good read if you are looking for something fast, steamy, and entertaining.

When Sincerely, The Puck Bunny was released, I said Briggs is my favorite. Well, I take that back because Graham is officially my favorite book boyfriend. He’s the cutest person. I just want to hug him. He’s so loving, sweet, caring, selfless and protective. Honestly he’s all I want in a man 😩. Emery is a badass lawyer. She’s smart, confident and stubborn as hell. Emery has been burned before and she doesn’t date athletes, especially her brother’s teammate.

Graham has wanted Emery since the first time he saw her.

“The first time I ever saw you, I thought you were the most beautiful girl in the entire stadium. Thousands of people and all I saw was you.”.

After she heard Graham say something, she tried to stay away from him. However, Graham has other plans. He found a scorecard of players Emery would sleep with in order of looks and he was ranked last. Ever since that he made it his personal mission to show her that he always comes first.

And OMG once they get together, their chemistry is off the chart and Graham has a mouth alright🥵

“I hope you know that I’m going to tear that dress off of you the second I get you alone, Davidson. So goddamn hot. You’re lucky we're surrounded by people or I’d already have it on the floor.”.

And then, they find out they’re having twins & Graham is so freaking happy. Unlike Emery, he wants it all, the picket fence, the kids, a big house. I was smiling so hard, my cheeks hurt. I know he will be a great dad after that scene of him talking to his babies. I wasn’t prepared. I fell in love with him even more. My standards now are even higher and I blame daddy Graham.

And let me just say Graham jealous is everything OMG.

“I’m saying you should probably take your hands off of her, before I take them off for you.” . FUCK ME

This book is everything and it had some of my favorite tropes: “enemies” with benefits, sports romance, brother’s teammate, fake dating, pregnancy and with twins. That cliffhanger though ugh. I don’t know what I was expecting, but that wasn’t it. I need book 2 right freaking now 😩

3.5 ✨

I’m rounding up bc I’ve read the other 2 in this series and they’re all pretty good and the characters appear in each others books, so it kind of evens it out.

It’s an accidental pregnancy trope book, didn’t realize that going into it. However, I do like that trope so not complaining, was just a surprise.

If you’re into hockey romances I mean, it’s a good read. It’s not as good as the pucked series by Helena hunting, but probably second to that series.

Trigger Warnings:

Damn was this disappointing, I was looking forward to reading something quick and cute but this was not it for me. I wasn’t a fan of the writing and the characters were just so unlikable. I haven’t read the other books in this series and you might get spoiled on it but I don’t think you have to read them to read this. The FMC Emery is so unlikable and I hated Graham. Their romance was non-existent, it was just focused on sex. Their “love” felt so forced and came outta nowhere, I was like huuuh? The “hate” just wasn’t there for me, I just kept rolling my eyes. The conversations between the characters just felt so fake. The moments that were supposed to be funny just had me sitting here feeling dead inside. The friends and family had no personality and the plot was so boring. There were a lot of time jumps and moments that were brushed over that ruined the development of the romance and the relationships between characters. It's a quick book you can read to pass time. I might get bits of the plot wrong since I was skimming so correct me if I am wrong.

Emery hates Graham, the manwhore bestie who plays with her brother on his hockey team. But after one hot night, they have no choice but to put up with each other.

Now for spoilers

Stay safe folks!

I loved everything aboard The Scorecard and Graham and Emery’s enemies to lovers journey is the perfect addition to the Totally Pucked Series but be warned we don’t get all of their story in this quick read because the cliffhanger at the end is going to have you wondering what happens next for this adorable couple.
Graham Briggs us a talented NHL hockey player but he is also a player off the ice and that makes him public end number one for Emery. He is best friends and a teammate of her brother so that means mixing in the same circles is inevitable but this hot player is off limits for more than one reason…..
Emery is an independent, strong woman living life to the fullest so how did she find herself fake dating the last man she should be with, how did she go from avoidance to falling for him and more importantly how did one night turn this couples life completely around….guess you need to one click to find that out.
This book has it all, Graham was easy to fall for once you saw the sweet man behind the player, Emery was the girl we would all love in our corner but together this couple take this read to another level. This was a wonderful addition to the series and I’m so excited for what’s next for this couple and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

You guys are not ready for Daddy Graham’s!! This is my second book my Maren Moore and she did not disappoint!

Emery is a total bad*ss. She just passed her bar exam to become a lawyer and on one drunken night, her and her friends make a scorecard where she rated the men on her brothers hockey team. This is when Graham finds out he’s last and he is not happy.

If I thought I loved Briggs… Graham has to be my new favorite!! Even from the first book he held my attention. I just knew that he would be the perfect dad especially with the way he cared for Olive in Briggs’ book!

That ending killed me. I need more of Daddy Graham asap!!

“I know this isn't real to you, but every single second I'm around you, it becomes real for me.”

The Scorecard is the third installment in Maren Moore's Totally Pucked series and follows Emery and Graham.

Like the rest of the series, this book was a spicy, lighthearted, and cute rom-com featuring the pregnancy trope. I enjoyed the beginning of Emery and Graham's story, but it might be my least favorite because some parts didn't hold my attention, and it took me a while to connect with Graham. I found him a little annoying at first, but I grew to like him, and I liked how he cared about Emery and wanted to do everything to help her. His character surprised me, and I didn't expect him to be like that, so that may explain why I didn't really like him at first. As for Emery, I adored her immediately. She is sassy, fierce, independent and passionate about her career. Despite the pregnancy and their fake relationship, Emery is determined to put boundaries between them, but we slowly see her fall in love with Graham, and their connection becomes deeper. I loved this part of the book!

After this ending, I'm ready for more content from Emery, Graham, and their babies, and to read about their happy ending in The Final Score, which comes out next month.

I received an ARC copy of this book via a Facebook giveaway and I couldn’t be more honoured to write this review for one of my newest and favourite authors.

This series in general has quickly become my favourite hockey romance to date. The addition of the Scorecard just further confirms this! For me, this has all of the pieces I love in a romance book: hockey players; a strong, independent female lead in Emery; Graham: a reformed playboy who is oh so swoon worthy and sweet, past the surface; babies; SPICY scenes and chemistry; and the element of family that comes through the updates we get about previous couples in the series.

The story of their growing love for each other, even despite some stubbornness on Emery’s end, is so well told and built from the beginning. It had me smiling throughout and wanting more. Graham is probably my favourite Maren man to date! You will not be disappointed with this addition to the series, and I highly recommend. ♥️ I’d be disappointed in the cliffhanger ending only if I didn’t know the next book will be here soon and it means more G & E love!

ʜᴀɴᴅs ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴇᴀᴅʙᴏᴀʀᴅ ʙᴀʙʏ.

GIRLS! If you were waiting for Graham’s story - like I know most of you were – Maren DELIVERS just as promised! Graham Adams is as sweet as he is filthy - the mouth on this boy!!
Emery Davis is independent and career driven. She guards her heart and given her past, it’s understandable as to why. She tries her hardest to steer clear from NHL players - given her brother is one and she knows firsthand what these guys are like. Emery has hated Graham for his ways and overhears a conversation not meant for her ears.
But Graham's been into her since the beginning and just never played into it - after all, it’s his best friend’s sister.
I absolutely LOVED seeing Graham break through Emery’s walls bit by bit.

ᴛʜᴇ ғɪʀsᴛ ᴛɪᴍᴇ ɪ ᴇᴠᴇʀ sᴀᴡ ʏᴏᴜ, ɪ ᴛʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏsᴛ ʙᴇᴀᴜᴛɪғᴜʟ ɢɪʀʟ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇɴᴛɪʀᴇ sᴛᴀᴅɪᴜᴍ. ᴛʜᴏᴜsᴀɴᴅs ᴏғ ᴘᴇᴏᴘʟᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ᴀʟʟ ɪ sᴀᴡ ᴡᴀs ʏᴏᴜ.

Their story was everything – It was spicy, steamy, romantic and sweet! There were times where I had literal tears in my eyes and giggling crazy. There’s no way you won’t fall head over heels for Graham Adams!
And Yes, this is part one of a duet – and, although this book ends on cliffhanger it’s one that has you at the edge of your seat and craving for more! I cannot wait for part two of this perfect story and I’m already counting down the days!

4.5 star review The Scorecard (Totally Pucked #3) by Maren Moore
Maren Moore is a relatively new author to me but what I have read, I have really enjoyed. This is Graham and Emery’s enemies to lovers story and was a great addition to the series. Pretending to be married should not have been complicated since the animosity between them is real.
However, we all know that there is a fine line between love and hate and that is a line neither of them expect to change, until it does. The passion and attraction ignites between them and suddenly their lives both take a turn neither expected.
I fell hard and fast for swoon worthy Graham Briggs a talented NHL hockey player who is so much more that just a player. From the first chapter I was totally hooked on the story Ms. Moore wove.
The chemistry between them sizzles and I loved the growth that both characters went through on their rocky journey to love.
This was a well written, entertaining story that left me excited for what’s next in this wonderful series. One click this little gem, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

I’m obsessed with this series Maren Moore has created her writing is beautiful her stories have me swooning laughing and panting all in one there sexy funny captivating and so darn sweet but also the steam holy smokes the mouth on Graham has me blushing at times and the sex is incredible and Emery she is the epitome of bad ass boss bitch she’s beautiful confident independent and has such a strong personality I think she’s perfect for our favorite playboy hockey player these two are just chefs kiss together ! I definitely can’t wait for the next book because that ending had me wanting to throw my kindle ! I think this story just might be my favorite out of this series!

To be honest with you I was really excited to get into this series again but it was not what I expected to find. When I saw this book while looking at titles on the Kindle Unlimited section, I immediately knew that I needed to read this book and continue onto finishing this series. Maren Moore’s books are always an easy pick for me because I read her books fast and they are entertaining enough to keep me going. But, this time around I felt like the story had too many plot holes in it for my liking, and at first I tried to look it over since there’s another book connected to this one, although in the end it happened too many times for me to be able to look it over. And, I know it’s a short book, but I would have liked for the author to make more sense between the scenes that she paired together from chapter to chapter.

i’ve been waiting for emery and graham’s book in this series and it did not disappoint! this man is quite literally obsessed, had me giggling and blushing the whole time. he falls first and falls hard, just as every fictional man should. also something about a man who’s always been in love with a girl and finally getting the girl, i’ll be eating it up like my last meal. fake dating, brothers best friend, hockey, don’t mind if i do! also this is a duet so you bet i’m on my way to download book two.

The whole book just felt like the tip of the iceberg. Every single interaction, “drama” or plot overall was very vague and never got to full substance or detailed.

Also the ending felt so anticlimactic, why make it a duology when you could’ve added everything the second book will probably have in lieu of the 50% filler.

Not bad, not good, just meh.

⚠️ accidental pregnancy trope and blotchy hate to love.

"Maren Moore's *The Mistletoe Bet* delivers a cozy Christmas vibe, perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in a light-hearted holiday romance. Set in the quaint town of Strawberry Hollow, the story introduces us to Quinn, a high-flying executive with a distaste for the festive season, and Parker, her childhood crush turned charming small-town doctor, who adores Christmas. A whimsical bet under the mistletoe rekindles their connection, setting the stage for a story filled with warmth, banter, and a dash of romance. While the plot and characters might feel familiar, akin to a Hallmark movie, the novella's charm lies in its feel-good, easy-to-read nature, making it an ideal pick for those seeking a quick, festive escape"

I LOVE Graham and his sunshine self…. He’s always so happy and such a great friend and ‘uncle’ and was so excited for his book!

Brothers best friend is one of my fav troupes and this one did not disappoint! I loved everything about these 2 and Graham’s need to change Emery’s scorecard.

I love how sassy Emery is and her outlook on life. She knows what she wants and then Graham comes along and loved watching her walls crumble for him

But oh that ending 😳😳 I need more of them

4.75/5 ⭐️

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. An enemies with benefits and pregnancy trope, a combination that I didn't know I loved until this book!

Graham was such a prominent side character in Briggs' storyline that I immediately fell in love with him. He's funny, caring, and I mean who doesn't love seeing a guy with a kid? Emery is by far my favorite female character from this universe. She's super independent and doesn't let anyone take advantage of her! She's very career driven and isn't going to let anyone or anything get in the way of that. Their banter and tension had me screaming! I'm usually not the biggest fan of slow burns but I am loving the build up in this story.

AND THE CLIFFHANGER!!! THE ENDING HAS ME BY THE CHOKEHOLD, I need the second book immediately!! Thank you so much Maren Moore for this arc!
