She also has oodles of print and online poetry chapbooks published in a variety of sources.
In addition to being a poet, she is the editor of a one-woman indie press, Blood Pudding Press, which specializes in poetry and artsy little misfit offerings.
She also edits Blood Pudding Press's spooky little sister in the form of an online literary publication called Thirteen Myna Birds.
Such a visual book of poetry, so much violent and sexual imagery....Jam is used at times. It's one of those weird things but I could handle all that weirdness but as soon as tuna got mentioned I pulled a face and went eeew!
There are some fantastic lines in this collection:
"Spaghetti straps slipping off bloody shoulders"
And every line in Dollophile are my favourites, I love that poem.
I highly recommend this book unless you have a fear of tuna. (you can read for free using the link in the books description)
I like Juliet Cook's gruesome Barbie doll imagery, whatwith the candy-coated maggots and the like. I do think this brand of bloody beauty queen criticism was more fitting of 2008 when it was published, though. Still great in terms of poetry.
