Always partial to a good epistolary story.

“Really, Granger? You have to ask what’s keeping me sane? It’s you.”
|Thoughts|
This was a unique Dramione in terms of formatting as the story is told via court documents, letters and flashbacks. Made for an engaging story that I couldn’t put down.
“You need to be prepared to let me go,” he finished softly. Hermione blinked. “I am not abandoning you, Draco.”
Draco shows some real growth and the interactions with Hermione were sweet.
“I just cried over a house elf, happy?”
Even love that he begins to ponder their potential future together, when it’s still very much undetermined if that’s even a possibility.
“Then I see asking your opinion of the book I’m reading and bickering over politics and finding out what you hair feels like”
Although Ron is not my favourite character (in canon or fanfiction), it was nice to see both Harry & Ron be extremely supportive of Hermione for a change.
“I don’t claim to understand it, but you can go ahead and assume I’ll always be behind you, cheering you on. No matter what”
Just to see an alternative view on the war and the silent double agent Draco was, warmed my heart.
“If you can carry my pain for awhile, I can carry yours. I’m here. You’re not staying there, I promise, and neither am I leaving you”
It felt cosy yet raw at the same time. And doesn’t shy away from the horrors and realities of war.
“Sleep, Draco. I’ll protect you”
“Love is correct”

When I say I love epistolary romances, this is exactly what I mean. Heartfelt letters, lots of confessions, comfort and bonding.
This fanfic felt familiar (it is still a Dramione after all), and yet, somehow, different from others I’ve read. But above all, so darn romantic. The last chapter was maybe a little over the top, but still sooo satisfying to read.

first time reading this format and honestly, it was not only easy to read. but also. just. sad but so sweet at the same time.
