To Blessing and all her woo- woo!
I love Nolan, he had a horrendous childhood with pain, bullying, torture, disappointment and heartbreak, but he escaped and became a strong, confident yet compassionate man who defends his country and always tries to do the 'right thing' for those around him. He still struggles with hope and with trust, he trusts his brothers on his team but everyone else has him wary, with defenses high. Until he meets Maggie, he has no idea how but she sneaks right under those defenses and into his heart, he knows that not only is Iris his to protect but Maggie is too...he just has to step carefully with her as she is as emotionally broken and fragile as he is. Maggie's abusive upbringing means she keeps a tight rein on her emotions and his little hope, she expects disappointment and pain. So Nolan is a man she doesn't understand...a protector. They are so perfect together and the love they have for Iris will bring a tear to your eye.
I am sad this is the last of the second season of The Long Road Home series, I will miss Blessing and her spot on but confusing predictions, please tell me there will be a third season of this series!

Nolan has endured a childhood that no one should have to and learnt that the only one he could count on was himself. He left at his first opportunity and has found a place to call home through his SEAL team until he realizes that he has an infant sister, Iris, who needs him now that his mother has passed away.
Maggie has endured a traumatic past of her own however the threat is far from over. I'm not getting a handle on Maggie's personality.
The sex scene was awkward as hell.
I didn't really feel the connection.
Why would you leave them alone for days in that situation?
Seriously...were they just waiting for their turn to come at them.

The Long Road Home series has introduced me to so many amazing writers. Caitlyn is one of faves and her contribution to this story has all the hallmarks of her other books. A strong alpha male lead with a troubled past, a stalwart female lead who has her own past to resolve. As with all her books, characters from multiple series are intertwined in the story and it is like greeting an old friend: "well of course Drake and Aiden make an appearance, they are part of Jasper Creek" Simply put, I loved this story and you should read it.

‘Defending Home’ by Caitlyn O’Leary is part of a multi-author loosely connected series ‘The Long Road Home’ that follows several military men who are trying find their place in the world. This story is about Nolan and Maggie who both had pretty terrible childhoods and believe they are damaged; perhaps beyond repair. Nolan’s mother was a drug addict and he moved in and out of foster care depending on her level of addiction resulting in him viewing his SEAL team (Omega Sky) as his only family. Maggie (going by Mary in the beginning) was raised in a situation where she had little autonomy or value and she is hiding from her past. They meet because Nolan’s mother died in childbirth and Maggie has custody of his baby sister; she reaches out to Nolan in the hopes that he will take the baby and she can disappear again. It takes them a while to learn to trust and reveal all their truths to each other. Maggie helps Nolan better understand his mother and he helps her understand how a relationship between a man and a woman should be.
The scenes with Nolan bonding with and caring for his baby sister are very touching and his courting of Maggie is so sweet. You are completely rooting for them as individuals and as a couple. They both have some growing and healing to complete, but they work well together to support each other on that journey. Once they both finally make some peace with their backgrounds and start to move forward in their relationship, the evil from Maggie’s past becomes a current danger. Nolan calls on his SEAL team for help and gets some help from the Midnight Delta team because Drake sister Trenda is one of Maggie’s friends – it is like old home week hearing about several characters we haven’t heard from in a while.
This book had good pacing and provided wonderful romance and exciting action. The chapters where the team is facing down the bad guys are fast paced and provide some unexpected surprises. It is not a shock that our SEALs are able to take out the threats, but they do have adapt when things don’t go as planned.
The epilogue provided some information on the other leads in the most recent round of the Long Road Home series and a little more information on the mysterious Blessing (she interacts with each man at the USO in the Atlanta airport). It also gives a look several months into the future solidifying the happy ending for Nolan and Maggie. I am really looking forward to Trenda’s book that is slated to come out next year.

This is the last book in this season of The Long Road Home series and while this season has come to and end, there will be another one! In this one we meet Nolan and Maggie. Nolan has to go home after finding out that his mother has passed away and left a baby sister that he didn't know about. He has a lot of things from his childhood and past to come to terms with in regards to his mother, and it's made the more difficult that he has never truly faced his past. Maggie is running from her past and she knows she has stayed too long in one spot, but she loves Nolan's little sister. She has been taking care of her since his mother passed away and she truly doesn't want to leave her. Now Nolan not only has to face his past but he also needs to keep a woman he doesn't truly know but feels a connection with safe. And once he finds out her past, he is more determined than ever to do that and become her future.
I really, really liked most of this book. Nolan went through this horrific childhood and never truly dealt with it, he just ignored it and moved on. But it definitely shaped his future and made him not trust. Maggie also went through something that most people will never face, but she chooses to not let it define her or her future as much as she can. She knows that not everyone is that way and chooses to see the good where she can and live her live to the fullest. I loved them together, they perfectly compliment each other and bring out the best in each other. The way they are with his little sister is beautiful to see. They both aren't afraid to show their love, especially with an innocent soul. I loved seeing previous characters that I have loved. I also liked the addition of Trenda and hope to see her get a book of her sooner rather than later! The only thing I didn't like, I wish there had been to what happened to Maggie's father and the others. I felt like it was just glanced over. Btw, I wouldn't be opposed to her twin brother getting a story of his own!!! He deserves it just for being the stand up brother that he is! The epilogue with Blessing? I absolutely loved it and how it all played out! It was great!!

I like to read Caitlyn O’Leary books slower, so I can enjoy every minute, and this book was just as great as all the rest! The world building is excellent, the characters are so authentic and relatable that I was hooked from the very beginning! It was also fun to see old friends from other series. I love when the SEALs communicate or work together. Their camaraderie makes the book so special, whether it’s the witty banter or heart-pounding action, I am here for it! The lead characters also need extra props. For as sheltered and abused as she was, Maggie was remarkably strong, and I enjoyed watching her blossom with Nolan. And Nolan… what can I say? He’s a strong, protective SEAL, who’s also compassionate and loving, and amazing with babies! That’s a top shelf book boyfriend right there! He was so nurturing with Iris, and yet the scenes with him and Maggie were perfectly done! So much chemistry! There’s plenty of suspense, a plot twist or two, and action to keep you glued to your device or book! It’s definitely a roller coaster of emotions deserving of 5 stars!! I can’t wait to see which SEAL gets bitten by the love bug next!

Nolan couldn't get out of his small home town quick enough. Bullied for being the child of a drug addict and single mother, there wasn't much about the town he loved. Now a well-regarded SEAL he opened a letter from a stranger and his world shattered around him. His mother has passed away and his baby sister is now in the care of Maggie, the letter writer. Nolan would never consign anyone to the foster system if he can avoid it, so it looks like he has trip home to contend with.
Maggie loves looking after Iris but she is well aware that she's only her temporary caregiver until she can contact her adult brother. Living in a trailer park wasn't where she imagined living when she escaped her oppressive family and arranged betrothal but it's better than the life her betrothed had in mind for her.
Nolan and Maggie are well-matched. Maggie may have been sheltered and lacking in pop culture but she isn't an idiot and she sucks up knowledge like a sponge. Nolan has outgrown his bullied past but the memories are still there. He acts like the team's newbies big brother and he steers them in the right direction.
He is brilliant with both Iris and Maggie. He deals with the baby and the young woman with sensitivity and a careful hand. He's determined to ensure the safety and well-being of both. He's also aware that his growing and intense feelings towards Maggie aren't all rooted in how well she looked after Iris!
Nolan's alpha warrior with a sensitive soul and Maggie's naivety nature and inherent goodness are so heartwarming. The cameo appearances by Nolan's teammates and a certain Avery sister and niece was great. It's nice to know that Drake is still causing headaches for everyone!

Holy moly what a fantastic read!!
I was captivated from the start, gladly boarding this action packed, addictive rollercoaster of a story. My only criticism is that I never wanted it to end. I truly fell in love with Maggie and Nolan.
They both had pain from their pasts. Nolan was treated cruelly by the one person in his world that should have treasured him, leaving him with mental scars that haven’t healed. Maggie was also treated cruelly, both mentally and physically. Forced to abide by stringent rules made by people who should have loved her.
They both come together with issues and yet it was utterly beautiful to watch their instant attraction and chemistry, their feelings grow.
Watching them together was spellbinding. Nolan’s alpha, protective persona on full alert to protect his family was so heartfelt and mesmerising to watch. These two characters couldn’t have been better matched.
The depth with which Caitlyn O’Leary writes is awe inspiring. I love the emotion that jumps from the pages. The scenes she paints so lifelike you could easily see yourself right there with these beautiful characters. Walking alongside them, accepting their friendship.
So heartwarming and beautiful.

Nolan O'Rourke had a truly horrific childhood, leaving home as soon a he could to become a Seal and never looking back. He found his family with his Seal Team brothers and never intended to return home until he received a letter from 'Mary Smith' - his mother is dead and he has a baby sister called Iris. Travelling home through Atlanta Airport to investigate he receives the usual intriguing wisdom of Blessing. Mary is definitely not all she seems and Nolan quickly determines she is on the run. Mary, who turns out to be Maggie, ran from the prospect of a horrific future, her home life was completely different to Nolan's but equally hard and difficult. Maggie and Nolan are destined for each other, shaped by their pasts into strong, determined, true characters. I loved Maggie's mix of wisdom and innocence, Nolan is a protective alpha who quickly becomes devoted to the two women in his life and absolutely determined to keep them safe from the threat stalking Maggie.
There are many threads to this story and it will draw you in and keep you gripped and enthralled from the very beginning. Action a plenty, wonderful characters and some guest cameos, a tender love story at it's heart, I thoroughly recommend you read this and all the others in the excellent The Long Road Home series.

Once again we are on the long road home and once again Blessing in Atlanta Airport will give timely advise that will set someone on a path to a future they never saw coming and this one really tugs at your heartstrings

An abusive home can break your spirit unless you meet another broken person who survived also
The ending book of the series is as intriguing and excellent as the first book. A young Nolan, being bullied at school and living with a mom struggling with addition tendencies, turns 18 and enters the military. Here he finds the family unit he needed. Maggie flees from an abusive home that forced daughters to quit school at 13 and marry their father's chosen mate for them, usually men his age. Maggie becomes the guardian to a friend's baby who is Nolan's sister, one he didn't know he had. When informed of his mom dying giving birth to his sister, Nolan goes to Jasper, TN to find his three month old sister Iris and meet Maggie her guardian. They lived in the same trailer park he lived with his mom and this triggers bad memories. Maggie needs to leave Iris with Nolan then go off grid again because her 'chosen' abusive fiance and his family found where she was hiding. The ending book of the series is as intriguing and excellent as the first book. A young Nolan, being bullied at school and living with a mom struggling with addition tendencies, turns 18 and enters the military. Here he finds the family unit he needed. Maggie flees from an abusive home that forced daughters to quit school at 13 and marry their father's chosen mate for them, usually men his age. Maggie becomes the guardian to a friend's baby who is Nolan's sister, one he didn't know he had. When informed of his mom dying giving birth to his sister, Nolan goes to Jasper, TN to find his three month old sister Iris and meet Maggie her guardian. They lived in the same trailer park he lived with his mom and this triggers bad memories. Maggie needs to leave Iris with Nolan then go off grid again because her 'chosen' abusive fiance and his family found where she was hiding. Defending Home might be my favorite book that Caitlyn O’Leary has ever written. Nolan and Maggie have a magical romance that is so sweet. They have to work really hard to get overcome pain from their pasts to get there. There is plenty of page turning action and sexy scenes to round out all of the feels. I absolutely could not put this book down. It was that awesome. The story starts with a letter from Nolan’s home. Nolan is going home when he runs into Blessing at the Atlanta USO after his flight is delayed. She tells him that “those two little ladies are lucky to have him fighting in their corner. “. Blessing is the coming factor in the “Long Road Home Series. Nobody can quite figure out how she knows so much. The fight to save Maggie from a psychopath that is stalking her is right up her big hearted, protective Seal’s alley. Nolan’s team arrives to help, and their camaraderie is so much fun to read about. Noah gains inner peace and a new family with his trip to Tennessee. What more could he ask for? Don’t miss this fantastic book!

Exceptional Addition to this Series!!
You gotta love these SEALs. The focus this time is on Nolan O’Rourke. His childhood was such that he was put into foster care. He has not communicated with his mother for years. When a letter arrives with a feminine look, but not his mother’s hand, he learns his mother has passed away and left a daughter; his sister. Mary Smith is on the run, but had committed to caring for young Iris and contacting Nolan.
It is tough for Nolan to return to a town where he was bullied and abused. Mary is a great guardian for Iris, but Nolan can tell she is on the run from something. He could be just the guy to help her out of her situation. An incredible story of overcoming odds, coming into yourself, overcoming adversity, and finally finding your “one”. The team has their back, so we don’t worry too, too much.
Full of emotions, incredible backstories and an overall wonderful reading experience.

This is a story that pulls you in from the very start and grabs you with all the emotional feels you expect from Caitlyn O'Leary. Nolan O'Rourke is a Navy Seal with a horrific abusive background. He was raised by a drug addict mother and spent most of his youth in foster care. Mary Smith is in hiding from a cult that her family is in. They have promised her to an abusive man who has already terrorized her. He is tracking her.
She writes Nolan to tell him his mother died giving birth to his baby sister. Mary has been named the guardian of Iris by his mother. Mary tells him that she had cleaned herself up before the baby and was wanting to reconnet with her son. Nolan falls in love with baby Iris immediately and is very smitten with Mary. Nolan is determined to protect Mary and Iris. He brings in some of his team to help protect them and apprehend the cult members. I could not put this book down and I love Nolan. I also appreciate whenever we have a chance to meet up with team members. This is a definite 5 stars.

Nolan & Maggie
This story will melt your heart. There are so many little storylines here that show you just how difficult Nolan’s childhood was and his rise above it. It also has equal depth into Maggie’s difficult life that encompass her reality now. I couldn’t read this fast enough.
I was so proud of Nolan and his journey through the emotions needed to navigate his life as he slowly discovers what it is now. I appreciate the help Nolan receives from his SEAL teammates, especially Gideon, to help him discover the secrets of the other players, Maggie’s family, and her stalker, Kyle and his family.
Maggie is such a warm, loveable person. To love Iris as much as she does, without reservation, while not ever being related to her is so precious. She cares so much about Nolan getting to know his baby sister and to understand the life his mother lived the last few years of her life.
This is an amazing story of healing, love and acceptance. It’s also full of loyalty and trust to allow Nolan and Maggie to form a loving family with a sweet HEA. I loved it!

Nolan O'Rourke is is a Navy Seal but his life as a child was terrible that he was determined to never go home and not see his mother because of how she treated him. But he gets a letter from Mary Smith and he can't get her out of his mind. He starts to go home and he talks to Miss Blessing. She puts him with other military men. They exchange numbers. He goes home and finds his mother died and he has a baby sister. Mary Smith is on the run from and can't take Iris with her. He falls instantly in love with his sister and determined to keep her but he also falls for Mary/Maggie and determined to help her. He meets some of the guys who beat him up when he was a child when Maggie was working at a bar and they were going to rape her but Nolan saved her. Her family and the man stalking her came to town after her and him and his team save the day. I have never gave a five but this book just took my heart. It was fantastic

Another don't put me down book. Caitlyn is such an amazing writer and once I start any of her books, I just can't stop reading them.
Nolan had a tough life growing up but he's such a sweet and caring man that when he meets his baby sister he falls in love with her immediately, and the chemistry between him and Maggie is so strong that he can't resist it.

This is the third book in the Omega Sky series. If I could give it a million stars, I would. Nolan had a very hard childhood and was bullied at school. He bounced between being with his mother and foster care. He didn't make friends as a child and definitely has trust issues. Maggie grew up in a community that was off the grid and the men controlled everything. Women had no rights and the daughters were forced into arranged marriages. Maggie is in such a predicament. She's on the run from the man she's supposed to be marrying. He is a psychopath. Nolan and Maggie meet after she sent him a letter informing him that he has a baby sister. He reluctantly heads up to Jasper Creek, Tennessee to check things out. After an awkward beginning, Nolan and Maggie develop feelings for each other. They have a great many hurdles to navigate to get the HEA they deserve. Get this book ASAP and find out what happens. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review

Nolan grew up poor with a young mother, bullied in school, in and out of foster care, Maggie grew up in a backwards small town in Minnesota where the men rule like dictators, present day being a SEAL returning home after learning about the death of his mom and having a baby sister being cared for by a strange but beautiful woman, sparks fly when he's looking into the eyes of his sister, the same eyes and he knows he would do anything to protect her, trying to figure out what Maggie is running from is tricky, can they unveil their lost souls together, heal their hurts from the past, Blessing and her woo woo has been right once again, love in two weeks definitely, this series is a definite read, thank you Caitlyn O'Leary for a beautiful ending to season 2, Dana Zamora

Loved his latest book by Ms O'Leary
Nolan had a difficult childhood and I thought my hear bled for him until I leant abut Mary/Maggie's upbringing. Tow strong characters written with the usual O'Leary charm who overcome a whole raft of difficulties to not only be together but to raise little Iris too.
A real heart warming book, just what we need. It was great to meet characters from previous books but I think you could read and love this without the background details from the people.
loved how everyone came together to assist in whatever way they could.
I am hoping that there will be a future book staring Trenda and Jase but will leave that in the capable hands of the author. 100% loved this and totally recommend

Love and support are magical healers. The book is well-written with relatable characters. The characters have one thing in common, abuse. But they both have persevered and are better for it. It is well worth the read.

a fitting conclusion
This is an excellent wrap to another wonderful Long Road Home series with Blessing and her woo in the prologue and epilogue so even better. Nolan has to go home when he learns that his estranged mother has died and left him a baby sister to look after. Iris (the baby) is currently being cared for by Mary/Maggie who , it turns out, is a woman on the run from an abusive family and a man wanting to marry her who she is terrified of. Being a navy Seal and a natural protector there is no way he is standing for that. Maggie and Nolan are very attracted to each other and this forms the storyline. Really enjoyed this book, shame there are 8 months to wait until series 3.

OMG I loved this story! I loved everything about this book. This is truly the best one yet. Maggie was a great character likable, realistic and relatable. Nolan was a alpha male but not over the top. He continuously showed his sweet, caring and passionate side. I love when the teams comes together. I wish we would have got a little more of Drake. Belle is a awesome. She will have her college paid for before the end of the series. I hope to get Trena story soon The book is well written and edited. It is a fast read that you don’t want to put down. You want to get to the end so you can find out what happens but also don’t want it to end. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

This time there was another letter from Mary Smith telling him his Mother was dead and he had a baby sister. He couldn't believe it but he had to check it out.
On his way home his plane was delayed and he met Miss Blessing. Never a large part of any of the stories. But the part that kept me coming back. I knew and enjoyed several of the writers. But it was Miss B!easing that got me to try the unknowns and their skill that brought me back. I hope the Binge Read Babes decide to team up again.
