Tempt Me
After a life of hiding, can I find the courage to be myself?
Being single, an introvert, and closeted has made my life lonely. The only bright parts are my coworkers at Rebel Mechanics and my volunteer work with a cat rescue.
In a moment of desperation, I sign up for a dating app, hoping to finally make a connection with someone. Despite me not exactly having stellar social skills, I find myself opening up to a virtual stranger in ways I never have before. What is happening here?
Then a new guy is hired at the garage, Jude. He’s funny, outgoing, and a genuinely nice person. He looks past my shyness and awkwardness, and for reasons I can’t understand, he wants to be friends. It feels like there’s something between us, but that can’t be. He’s straight, and to the outside world, so am I.

This was a sweet story with a great romance of two lonely people that unbeknownst to them are perfect for each other.
Wes and Jude are co-workers at Rebel Mechanics. Wes is a shy and reserved mechanic who is slow to warm up to others due to being a strong introvert. Jude is their newest employee who is outgoing and positive. Wes and Jude have an instant connection, but due to Wes's shyness, there is no progression until they both start chatting on a dating app.
After meeting on the dating app, neither Wes nor Jude knows each other is the person they are talking to. This allows for both to express their honest thoughts and reactions without any barriers. Eventually, they both realize they have been talking to each other online, which is one of the cutest scenes after the reveal.
After the dating app discovery, they both fall head over heels for each other and it is so precious to see how devoted and smitten they are with eachother.
Overall this was an enjoyable love story feature two people that have struggled with finding their person, their HEA is well deserved and beautiful.

I have been in a book hangover ever since I read this book. I have been hesitating to write this review because I am afraid I can't get into words how much I loved this book and how deeply it affected me. But I am gonna give it a try!
Wes had my heart hurting from the beginning! My biggest wish throughout the entire book was to hug him. Imagine the shy, lonly, lovable guy in the corner who never talks to anybody even though people want to talk to him. That is Wes!
His thoughts about himself and life sometimes made me so sad and made me feel a deep compassion for him. He was not in an easy situation and how he lived his life was a little painful to read about.
I don't think I have ever read an MM book where a guy has been in the closet in the same way Wes was. He isn't out but he isn't in denial either. Wich made his life really hard to live and be happy.
Now Jude is a sweetheart. I imagine him as the guy next door. The one everyone likes and who is always happy to see you. He just gave me all of those vibes. He is the perfect partner for Wes and what I love the most was he was not just a partner for Wes he was also the perfect friend for him.
This is a slow burn story which often has me impatient to get to the good stuff but with this book, I couldn't have imagined it any other way it felt so natural how it all progressed and how they developed together and personally.
But don't get me wrong when they finally got to all the good stuff it was HOT!🥵
Ever since I read this book it hasn't left my thoughts and that is what tells me this book is special, it has a deep meaning I think a lot of people can relate to and it made me feel a lot and not just at the moment.
I can't recommend this book enough and I hope you guys will fall in love with Wes and Jude as much as me!

I was being an asshole. It wasn’t Jude’s fault I was attracted to him, and I was acting both unprofessional and rude because I happened to find him hot.

This was a real sweet story. I liked how Wes developed and how he gained strength through Judes support. I felt for him and can't understand how a mother can act like that.
Loved how the relationship developed.

TRIGGER WARNING: This book features homophobia, vague but on-screen attempt of sexual assault via drugging, and references to childhood abuse.
This is my first AT Brennan novel, one I picked solely because the blurb sounded really interesting. I am glad that I did, because this book absolutely delighted me.
Tempt Me is the story of introverted and slightly socially awkward Wesley and his more outgoing and far friendlier new coworker, Jude. Both men are in the closet for their own reasons, despite the fact that they work in a very queer friendly space. When Jude comes to work at Rebel Mechanics, he catches Wes's eye immediately. Wes catches Jude's eye as well. Both men handle this differently. For Wes, he throws up walls and has a hard time letting Jude in. Jude, on the other hand, tries to strike up conversations and develop a friendship.
Meanwhile, they are both talking online anonymously on an app called Chatz, where they don't realize its the other that they're talking to, leading to some hilarious internal monologue as they both anguish over the fact that they have feelings for two different men. Luckily, this is a plot thread that gets cleared up before anything real begins between them offline.
I think my favorite thing about this book was the depth that Brennan put into the characters of Wesley and Jude. It was clear where both of these men were coming from, their reasons for staying in the closet, and the individual traumas they bring to the table. Not only does Brennan make these things clear, but the issues are handled with a lot of care. None of it feels superfluous or something put into the character's history for spice. Instead, the issues all feel very real and explain parts of their personalities. The side characters, whether they were characters from previous books or characters created to add depth to our leads, were well written. Several of them seemed, at first, to exist solely as a hurdle or misunderstanding between the two men but, the moment given a chance, surprised me quite a lot.
I will say that a good portion of the issues in this book, at least at first, could've been solved with actual communication and conversations. I was very glad when those started happening, especially as these conversations started a good trend of communication between the characters.
In all, this book had some angst in it, a good amount of steam, and a couple you wanted to root for. The chemistry was tangible and the relationship felt real, like there was more there than just a physical attraction. The emotional connection was evident between these characters and it sated me.

Tempt Me by A.T. Brennan is a story of an instant attraction between Wes and Jude when they first meet on the job at Rebel Mechanics Auto Shop, however neither man is currently openly living with his true sexuality. There are a couple of twists in this book as both characters are pulled toward two different men early on in the story.. Wes has been mentally and verbally abused by his mother for most of his life and he knows that if he ever came out as gay, he would lose the last family he has. Jude, is running from a different type of childhood trauma but is just as afraid as Wes that if he was ever open about his bisexuality with his friends and family that they wouldn’t support him. Each man has to make the decision if an unknown future together is worth facing the past. Wes and Jude were both very supportive of the others' decision as to how to handle their own coming out and for those who have read the first three books in the series you get to revisit with many old friends. I liked how neither character pushed the other to move forward in the relationship at a faster pace then they were ready for. I enjoyed this story and how the author showed the reality of what is going through the characters' heads when they are in love, but afraid to share that with the world. Now I need to go back to books 1-3 in the series to get the backstories on all the side characters I was introduced to in this story.

I liked how from the start Jude and West’s connection is more than just physical chemistry. They have plenty of that, to be sure, but it’s the emotional compatibility and the care they take with each other that really powers their relationship. I love how they support and nurture each other through a wide variety of different things, and I liked how honest they were with each other. Both men share the fact that they come from complicated family dynamics: Jude’s early life and young adulthood were shaped by abusive parental figures; West still lives under the thumb of his controlling, bigoted mother. It’s hard to watch the way West’s mother treats him, and I don’t think I’d ever have been able to show Jude’s patient acceptance of the fact that breaking things off with her has to be West’s decision-- intellectually I get that, but this woman is a human garbage fire and I wanted her out of West’s life years ago, so… There’s a lot of emotion in this story, and while bad things (and people) happen, the core of this romance is about good things, about how relationships, romantic and platonic, can offer support and solace, and about how things can change for the better, even if some are better left behind.

I have loved all the stories set around this found family of mechanics at Rebel Mechanics. I have been looking forward to Westley’s story for a while. He is so introverted and private but obviously has a big heart…I mean foster kittens named after LOTR characters…hello! Jude is the perfect match for him! Both men have lived their lives in the closet for different reasons and both have their issues with their home lives or family. Watching these two connect online and then in person was a thing of beauty. Wes is dealing with a toxic relationship with his mother but he is convinced from years of belittling and abuse that he doesn’t deserve better. Jude is no longer in a bad situation but he hasn’t told his truth yet because he is afraid of rejection by his friends and his mom and sister. Together they realize that life isn’t worth living if you can’t be true to who you are and who you love. With the help of some amazing found family, these two develop the courage to live openly and embrace their friends and each other. I hate how people sometimes make fun of those who have been afraid of living in the open, but that is hardly a fair attitude because no two people have the same story or support to make it possible. Loved this book!

Tempt Me is the fourth book in the Rebel Mechanics series. This AT Brennan tale is a great addition to this world.
Wes and Jude make for a great couple. Their story is compelling and I enjoy the character development.
It's an opposites attract romance between the somewhat awkward Wes and his outgoing and lively coworker Jude. There's instant attraction but Wes won't let anything happen.
This is a story where they become friends slowly in person, as well as online, without knowing it. I actually really enjoy the way this plays out. It doesn't have any of the looming doom or angst normally involved. But it's adorable that they are falling for each other in real life, as well as falling for someone else online.
Both men are closeted, but for different reasons. They're both well developed, with their reasons for being closeted are fully explored. I enjoy the way things progress between them, and their chemistry is undeniable.
The writing is great, as I've come to expect from this series. And I'm left impressed with the way the author explores the issues of both men. Everything is written and handled with care and compassion.

I have been reading the Rebel Mechanics series since the first story and I absolutely love each book. Tempt Me is such a good story with a lot of sweetness but also some angst.
Before I go to much into the review I do want to say this book does have mentions of one of the characters discussing past mental & emotional domestic abuse his family went through, some talk of past homophobic comments from friends, and one main character has a homophobic mother. I’m not mentioning that to make the story sound dark, just wanted to list some topics that could be triggering.
Wes is very shy and introverted but also so sweet. He is so kind and wants friends, he just has a hard time talking to people. He loves his job and his two cats. Once he meets Jude he is so drawn to him, but also to shy to really talk to him. As they get to know each other their relationship growth is so cute! (And steamy!)
Jude is new to the shop and he wants to become friends with everyone. He is a hard worker and loves being a mechanic. As he gets to know Wes more he feels like they are meant to be friends, if not more.
This book does also have the trope of talking to someone anonymously online but having it actually be someone you know in real life, and it really worked here! I loved that touch.

Very cute workplace romance with a twist!
Wes has got to be one of the most loveable characters I have read in quite a while. He's so stuck inside his head and his overthinking that it often gets in the way of actually enjoying his life. Luckily Jude sees through his social anxiety and to the sweet guy underneath.
I was rooting for both of them from the get go and their happily ever after didn't disappoint. The anonymous chat partner storyline is of course a little predictable, but I didn't mind that and it allowed them to get to know each other on a deeper level without any expectations.
I only wish that they had spend a bit more time with each other in real life before getting together. They both say they had a crush on the other one, but we don't ever really see them interacting. They have one coffee and about two chats together. While there is actually a lot of time passing (especially for a romance novel) they have very little page time together.
All in all a sweet and spicy workplace romance with two guys slowly accepting themselves and being open with each other and the world.

Wes and Jude became the most promising characters in this series since Ryan and Jace. I wondered how long their online relationship would face off against their real-life crush and unfortunately, that took half the book.
However, Jude is nothing if not bold and in control. So thankfully we didn't take long to get some live action. But then, the story fell into the rut of the others.
Basically, they become the happy perfect couple and I don't even know what we are reading for anymore. Wes had valid fears but I understood Jude's reluctance.
I wanted more cat time or thought we would get more cat time so for those who were wary of this, you have nothing to fear. It focused on the guys.
The sex was okay. Not plenty or extra steamy, for me at least, but it was good for them. I could do without the sexting but that's maybe just me also.

This is another excellent addition to the Rebel Mechanics series and I really enjoyed it. Tempt Me is well written, sweet, hot, gritty, emotional, deals well with some difficult issues, the characters are amazing and I love the storyline. I have been looking forward to reading Wes's story and I am so glad that he finally gets his HEA. He and Jude are exactly what the other needs even though it does take them a while to figure it out. There are some misunderstandings and both of them have difficult decisions to make if they decide to come out. Wes has a very difficult and bordering on abusive relationship with his mother as well as being a very shy introvert. Jude has his own issues to deal with but he is very supportive, caring and outgoing. I love their connection, they have smoking hot chemistry and they are perfect for each other. The ending is great, the secondary characters add so much to the story and I really hope there is more to come in this wonderful series.

I really love the stories where the characters connect online through a chat room or something similar and develop feelings while at the same time, develop feelings for a person in their day to day life. Wes is a quiet mechanic who works at the shop that just hired Jude, who is also a mechanic. There is a definite zing between them, but Wes is really shy and a bit aloof so Jude isn't sure whether Wes even likes him. Plus, neither of them are out so that complicates things. I really liked that we got to learn about their childhoods and exactly how that shaped many of their decisions. I loved that Wes had such a big heart for cats. That's always a big plus for me. I don't want to spoil anything so I will just say that this was a really touching romance between these two and I loved every minute! I have to read the rest of the books in this series now! I did receive a copy of this book through Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review.

Goodness, I loved Wes and Jude so much. Especially sweet, vulnerable Wes. Feeling an attraction at work and then getting to know each other anonymously in the chat app really worked for me. I liked how they were able to be honest with each other and develop this deep connection before realizing that they already knew each other. The moment Jude realized he was talking with Wes was everything.
I also really liked Ivy, Wes’ ex-wife. Many times, the ex is portrayed as some evil hateful person, but Ivy loved and cared about Wes and just wanted him to be happy.
On the other hand, Wes’ mom can go jump off a bridge. What a disgusting, hateful, vile person. The way she treated Wes made me sick. When he was telling Jude about how he had to pay rent as a teenager and was still paying her for raising him because “raising kids is expensive”, my mouth dropped open in complete and utter shock. Just hideous. His last confrontation with her brought tears to my eyes. Jude was perfect in the aftermath. I was even more happy with the sweet HEA for these two after that. They more than earned and deserved it.
I absolutely loved this book and this whole series actually. So, so good.

I also really liked Ivy, Wes’ ex-wife. Many times, the ex is portrayed as some evil hateful person, but Ivy loved and cared about Wes and just wanted him to be happy.
On the other hand, Wes’ mom can go jump off a bridge. What a disgusting, hateful, vile person. The way she treated Wes made me sick. When he was telling Jude about how he had to pay rent as a teenager and was still paying her for raising him because “raising kids is expensive”, my mouth dropped open in complete and utter shock. Just hideous. His last confrontation with her brought tears to my eyes. Jude was perfect in the aftermath. I was even more happy with the sweet HEA for these two after that. They more than earned and deserved it.
I absolutely loved this book and this whole series actually. So, so good.

This was a new-to-me author when I selected this book, and I am not disappointed! Tempt Me was engaging, easy to read, and full of likeable characters.
In particular, the main characters, Wes and Jude, captured my imagination. Wes with his overbearing Mom and adorable cats, his insecurities and naiveté was so easy to love. Jude, with his problems-with-boundaries sister and take-charge demeanour was a ray of sunshine.
Supporting characters, who’ve appeared in other Rebel Mechanics books, rounded out the cast of characters. Lux and Quinn definitely drew curiosity and will have me looking up their books for sure.
The hot times were particularly smoking because of the intense emotional connection between these two characters and the intimacy conveyed in these scenes.
Brennan may be new to me, but she won’t be for long as I am definitely wanting to check out her other books.

I really loved this fourth book in the Rebel Mechanics series. Wes and Jude are both in the closet for different reasons, so they “meet” on a dating app, where they start chatting and hit it off instantly. At the same time Jude starts working at the auto shop Wes works at, and there’s instant attraction in the flesh too.
I loved how they finally come together as a couple, they compliment each other so well and accept the other's difficulties coming out to family and friends and there’s no pressure at all. Sweet, introverted Wes finally gets his HEA and Jude is the perfect man to get him out of his shell and give Wes the confidence he needs. Together they are lovely, steamy and their communicatoíon is great. If you’re looking for a well-written, feel-good, steamy story, I highly recommend this one - and the rest of the series as well.

Tempt Me is another great installment of the Rebel Mechanics Series. I just loved Wes and my heart acted for how his own mother treated him like he was less than. Jude is the new man mechanic at the shop and on his first day there he worked with Wes. Both feel attracted to each other both they both think the other is straight because they've seen them with women. After work the both go home and get on a dating app and start talking unknowingly to each other. Sparks happen and online they both become close. Of course eventually they realize that the guy they've been sexting/talking to is actually each other. Being together in secret works for both until finally they separately come out to friends, co-workers and family, with positive reactions except one big one. This is a sweet HEA and I've enjoyed reading this series. Enjoy!

This was my first read in this series, but I feel like it totally works as a stand-alone, although I'm sure you'll know more about the side characters if you have read the other books. I did not feel lost or like I was missing anything. I loved Wes and Jude and the way they first met and started opening up to each other. It's so funny how we can bare our souls to complete strangers online, things that we would never share except under the cloak of anonymity. But what happens when the veil is lifted? A little awkward? Maybe. But for Wes and Jude, it opened up a whole new world and gave them insights they would (most likely) never have gained otherwise. Fantastic story with great characters.

This is steamy, intense and romantic. Wes and Jude meet when Jude begins working at the garage Wes works at. Both feel an intense attraction for the other, but neither are out. Wes is a sweet guy who has an interfering, selfish and uktra religious mom. Jude is a caring guy who helped his mother and sister ecsape his abusive step-father. Both decide that hookups are getting tired, so they turn to a chatting app. Then a scary incident at a bar changes things between them, and they to be friends, which soon turns into more. I enjoyed reading about Jude and Wes, I loved their characters and the storyline too.

This is my favorite book so far out of this series. Wes and Jude were so prefect for each other ❤️ This was a slow burn, low angst, sweet and endearing story, my heart broke for these two guys who were closeted for different reasons and I was soooo happy for them to find the closeness, love and passion that they both so richly deserved. These were very well written characters, each with troubled upbringings and each had doubts..... individually the were great but together they were close to perfect .....as always it's nice to revisit characters from the past books too ❤️ I would defiantly recommend this book, especially for fans of this series.

Wes and Jude, two men that work together and are hiding their truths from the world, find each other on an app and begin to develop a friendship. I love the dating app or online trope so this book appealed to me from the start. Add in an awkward introverted mechanic, an outgoing family oriented mechanic, with loads of chemistry, and you have the perfect recipe to keep me flipping pages.
There are some sensitive topics regarding religious homophobia and it’s heartbreaking. As a person who is religious I simply cannot understand the mindset that homosexuality is sinful. We’re all sinners in the eyes of God and since no sin is good… yeah, I don’t get it. I feel so much for anyone that has experienced that type of trauma in their lives, fictional or not.
It was unbelievably satisfying to see Wes and Jude get their HEA and I would definitely recommend the read.

The final book to the Rebel Mechanic, and it did not disappoint. This book follows Wes and Jude, two mechanics from the shop, and their love story of anonymous messages, workplace crushes, and slowly coming out. Wes broke my heart throughout this book because previously, he was described as being mysterious and wanting to keep to himself when in reality, he was lonely and wanted to make friends and have a boyfriend but had internal turmoil over it. Jude was sunshine and all, but he still wanted to connect with someone. I was rooting for these two automatically when they were introduced. They balanced each other perfectly, it each other needs as well. They understood each other, and Jude never judged Wes or questioned why he was the way he was. I did not want to put this down, I kept just staring at the pages like oh my goodness, will you two kiss and be together forever? This was another great addition to the series, and I can comfortably say I loved all the books in this series.

Great Series!
I am really enjoying this series and was excited to see Wes get his happily ever after. He was the quiet one in the garage, watching from the sidelines as all his co-workers were falling in love. This was a really enjoyable read. Wes and Jude both were in the closet for different reasons and both had family issues that were weighing them down. They formed a friendship first as they built toward more. I really liked the time it took for them to move to the next level. The conversations they had, the secrets they shared, the way they both opened up...it made for very explosive chemistry when they finally did get together. This book had some very hot and steamy times that felt so much more intense to me because I just felt their connection so strongly! They both supported each other as they worked through family drama and finding the courage to be themselves freely and openly. I did want to literally drive a bus over Wes's mother though as she was just plain awful! This book totally works as a standalone, but if you've been reading the series we get to spend time with the gang from the first 3 books as this found family continues to grow and expand! I hope there is more to come in this series!

I absolutely adored this book and read it in one sitting. Wes and Jude might be my favourites so far in this series. Both are still in the closet and hiding their sexuality from their friends and family. I loved how they met anonymously on a chatting app rather than the usual hook-up apps that you find and I felt that was a great way to find out about the background for the characters and the reasons they felt they had to hide their sexuality.
This is the fourth book in the series but can be read as a standalone book but it was nice to have mention of the other characters from the previous books.
On the whole this was an amazing book and I loved returning to Rebel Mechanics!

This was a sweet and slow burn sexy read! There is an insta attraction between these two Mechanics but both are in the closet due to family and friends. While Wes is a bit socially awkward in person, via text he can be kinky! LOL.. Wes has been lonely and is very introverted so Jude the new mechanic he is training is just what he needs! Beautifully written from both POV so we can experience how each of them feels. There are some great side characters like Ivy the ex wife who is so accepting and supportive, and there are terrible characters like Wes's Mom! I received an ARC of this book and it was a lovely enjoyable addition to this series! Always love a mechanic or two falling love!

Grumpy/Sunshine is one of my favorite troupes and this author did a fantastic job with her story!! Wes and Jude are co-workers at Rebel Mechanics. Wes is an introvert and takes his time getting to know people. Jude is the polar opposite. The dating app was perfect for Wes and Jude to open up on, although they didn’t realize they were chatting with each other. Wes is in the closet to a point, if you asked him, he’d come clean. I loved how Wes and Jude were friends first. I absolutely loved this story hard!! It was really well written, highly recommend. I’m voluntarily leaving a review from an advanced copy that I received. Well this is the second book I read from the Rebel Mechanics series and now I have to read them all. I love the way how AT brings her several so different characters to live.
Again I could dive in the book and experience all the emotions with the two character. That’s what I need from a book, something where I get whirled in and where the story stays on my mind.
This book is about Wes and Jude, two mechanics. Jude is new in the garage and able to get Wes a little bit out off his shell. I will not Zelle mire about the story, only that you have to read it. I fall in love with Wes and Jude.

So, I won an ARC ebook in a giveaway and this has been in my TBR pile for a minute. I was in a funk and decided to give this book a go. Soo, glad I did. I had never read this author before and the premise caught my attention. Wes and Jude are amazing! I absolutely loved Wes! He is a kind, sweet, adorable shy guy. Jude is also sweet, kind and amazing guy. There's a couple of parts that have you worried for one of them, then a heart breaking part that you saw coming. I love how the app situation isn't drawn out. The interactions with the other characters are great. This author will definitely be one I read again.

Cute texting romance.
I originally picked this book up because I love the trope where they begin to fall for one another online/via letters and I love when they finally meet/figure out who the other is. This one was good for that but the reveal wasn’t exciting. They didn’t really fall in love via the dating app. But Wes was so adorable with how vulnerable he was. However this book was a little lacking in plot. I was craving for things to happen. Then the timeline got a little wonky to me. It was skipping big segments of time. It focuses a lot around coming out to people. That’s about all that happened before the HEA. So I was a little bored.

I really enjoyed Wes and Jude’s story. I’ve really been liking the Rebel Mechanics series and I was thrilled to see Wes’s story! He stood out to me through the series as we didn’t learn much about him and he always kept to himself. When Jude started at the garage, he piqued Wes’s interest right away. Wes tried to play it cool as he was not out at work, or anywhere. He feared his mothers rejection and kept his sexuality amongst himself and his two best friends. Jude felt the same instant spark as Wes, but also closeted for his own reasons, he tried to act unaffected. I loved seeing these two start to develop a friendship. They really got to know each other through their conversations and it makes for some smoking hot sexy times when they finally crossed that bridge together. They had a wonderful connection and their chemistry was so palpable! They were each there as support systems for each other as they faced decisions on their sexuality. I hat really stood out to me most about their story was the wonderful friendship they built with each other. I loved the authenticity of how Wes’s story turned out. It made their HEA even more wonderful in my eyes!
