A Demon's Touch

Demons aren’t supposed to have feelings. But I do, and that’s what made being condemned to earth my own personal hell.

As the only empathetic sex demon in history, being surrounded by emotional mortals is absolute torture. All I want is to get out of here.

Until I meet Harper Whitmore.

The last thing I expect is to fall in love with her. But just when I decide life on earth might not be so bad, Hell decides they want me back. And they’ve just put a bounty on her head to make me comply.

I have two choices: walk away from the woman I accidentally fell in love with...or fight for her, allowing her to discover that I’m nothing more than a monster. Either choice will condemn me to a life of misery, but for the first time in my life, I just want to do what’s good.

If only I knew what that was...

Endless possibilities

What can I say? This book had hold of me from the very first page. It's written in such a way that you find you encompass every question, feeling, and uncertainty expressed by these amazing characters.
What are the chances of a demon who has been banished to the human realm to find meet and fall in love with a human.
Angelo has powers beyond many others of his kind, yet tries to keep a lid on that side of his character.
Harper has been offered the opportunity of a lifetime. She is going to be Algelo St Christian's attorney, and she finds herself
trying to understand why??
Harper has always had a barrier around her heart, stopping her from getting hurt, but can she keep Angelo away? Can she stop herself from failing for him? This storyline is paced perfectly, allowing the mystery surrounding Harper and Angelo to grow and bind themselves to each other.
With Angelo's father trying to keep Angelo walking the path of darkness, they find they are continually avoiding all of the attempts others trying to destroy what they have.
I am trying not to give too much away while allowing the action, challenges, and ongoing manipulation to weave their adventure throughout each chapter.
Fallen Angel's, demons, vampires, and others are all part of this intriguing story and if you're like me getting caught up with what is happening between Harper and Angelo you will experience a myriad of emotions.
Honestly, it's a top read and one I highly recommend you grab asap.

This book takes intensity to a whole new level, Angelo is a drool worthy leading man but is stubborn as hell when judging gimself and his decisions. Harper is unsure of herself at first and it was nice to see her grow and develop throughout the story. The storyline itself was good, it keeps you interested throughout. Both the sex scenes and the fight scenes are mkre intense than jve read in a while. Overall a very good book, well worth a read.

If you want to read the worst way to start a paranormal or mate romance, read this. It starts with the male character(that were supposed to love and admire and drool over because he’s loyal and amazing) screwing two random women in his bed. And that’s after we read a chapter where he met his mate so it feels like cheating. Never. Ever. Make a book about mates or paranormal romance with one of the screwing anybody other than their mate in the book. It’s gross and ruins everything “mates” is about. This author just got crossed off the list of authors that respect mates and does them right.

I really enjoyed 'A Demon's Touch'. A great romance story told from multiple POV. I haven't read any demon romances before and really got into this one. A bit of suspense, lots of spicy moments and no cheating or bullying. A great easy to read story.

This is book one of The Soulless series and the main characters are sex demon and empath, Angelo St Christian, and lawyer Harper Whitmore. Her uncle Duke had been his personnel lawyer for decades until his recent death. Duke knew the truth of who and what Angelo was, and Harper met Angelo for the first time at Duke’s funeral, accompanied by her younger sister Kiki. She gets a surprise a few weeks later, when her law firm tells her she has been selected by Mr St Christian as the replacement for her uncle, even though she and her boss at the firm don’t believe she is qualified for the position! However, Angelo had promised Duke that he would look out for her, and he works to increase her confidence in her own abilities. He has a harem of fallen angels, who look like models, as companions in his huge house, which make her feel somewhat uncomfortable. Especially Terra, who is unhappy with her new competition, as she sees it! Angelo has been growing bored of her but hadn’t bothered to make any real changes yet. Angelo had been using his sex demon powers to invade Harper’s dreams prior to her starting work with him, leaving her rather flustered and sexually attracted to him. Angelo has been having his own issues in his dreams, visited by the voice of his father, the very father he had killed and thus been banished from Hell as punishment for. His father has been very cryptic with his messages and Angelo has even been pulled back to Hell, as his father tried to persuade him that his place was there, not on Earth amongst humans!

Being an empath, from his mother’s angelic side perhaps, makes life on earth a personal hell for Angelo, leaving him to isolate himself and not normally going out anywhere. He does the majority of his business from home and thus his need for a full-time lawyer of his own. He can sense and feel everything that Harper does and tries to build her up and work with her on his business deals, to get her comfortable in her new post. He finds himself relocating all of his fallen angel house guests, including Terra who has pushed a little bit too far on her own importance to him. He sets each of them up with everything they could ever need, but that isn’t enough for Terra after ten years with Angelo as his companion and the one who always recruited other fallen angels for him. She is jealous of Harper’s place in his world and doesn’t appreciate being thrown out of a job, no matter how much he gives her. Against everything he has ever known, Angelo finds himself falling in love with Harper, a human! She has no idea of what he truly is, although she has caught glimpses of his other side not knowing what she really saw, both whilst awake and in her dreams. He believes he is truly like his father, who he despises, a demon through and through, who has no feelings or soul. But he forgets his mother’s angelic side is also within him and this allows him to feel love for Harper, meaning he does have a soul. No matter how hard he tries to deny this. His relationship with Harper soon gets steamy and intense, now alone in his house with his cook Greta and right-hand man David. His father reveals a shocking truth he had hidden from Angelo for centuries, interrupting his dreams and now also Harper’s!

His father wants something from him and for him to take his rightful place back in Hell, beside him! Angelo knows that whatever his father wants, is definitely not something he wants to allow him to have nor to do! Having fallen in love with Harper has made her a target and he will either have to fight his father Koradon and his demons or let her go by lying to her. Angelo tries to leave her somewhere that Koradon cannot reach her, but when Harper realises she hasn’t told Angelo that she loves him as well, she places both her and Kiki in danger. Only a surprising appearance by someone on the other side of Angelo’s family line, will ensure they can be together once again, for however long that might be before the next attack comes. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout, and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Thought this book was going to be a nice mix of demonic with a sexy twist. For me I felt that this book and the next book in fact I’m going to go as far as to say this could have been all one book. It just drug on needlessly.

A big no is when an author has the male or female lead for the matter be with someone right before they meet up with their now mate. They had lives before but we DO NOT need any details about it.

Harper is an attorney and you would think just being in that profession would help with nerves as you have to be able to face down angry opposition all of the time. Harper was stressed about so many things. In fact, one of the characters wanted to know why the male lead was even interested in her? I wondered the same thing myself after thinking she had the backbone of jellyfish.

Not to say she didn’t have some back bone but she was a bit clueless a lot of the time. Then again this had “Shades…” of another story with the male characters name being Saint Christian, you get where I’m going with this?!!?

Harper was supposed to be the naïve ingenue and was she ever that. I mean at the end of the book Angelo finally came clean about being a demon yet she couldn’t figure out things were not as a normal guy would be?!?

Most of the dialogue came across a bit stilted and immature for me. A lot of the action with the bad guy happened inside Angelo’s head. There were small bursts of action then a lot of filler.

Angelo was the big bad Dom and wanted to protect Harper from his enemies but he thought keeping her in the dark about his true nature would protect her. (Insert eye roll)

What worked for me was the relationship that Angelo had with his first in command David and Harper had with her sister Kiki that was the saving grace for me. Otherwise, this book should not be a happy for now it should have ended with their HEA and the story be done.

I received an ARC and I am leaving a vouluntary review.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. Harper Whitmore is a meek and mild attorney that has been relegated to paralegal status at he uncle's firm. Her uncle recently passed and made her future his number one client's priority. Angelo St Christian does not plan to let Duke Whitmore down. Angelo requests Harper to take over the role that her uncle was fulfilling as his personal attorney. Angelo is a recluse and did the majority of his business from his home. Harper was now expected to be at Angelo's home and even spend the night if needed. There is something different about Angelo. When Kiki, Harper's sister, mentions that he might be a sex demon, the sisters don't know how close to the truth they are.

Angelo is a demon-angel hybrid. He was banished to the human realm for killing his father, Koradon. Angelo is an immortal sex demon. Harper's uncle knew what he was and made it his business to help him with his identities throughout the years. Angelo wanted Harper from the moment he saw her and started coming to her through her dreams. Harper's attraction to Angelo grew from there. She felt a connection to him but did not realize that the Angelo she dreamed about was the Angelo she worked for.

Will Angelo and Harper seal the deal? Will Angelo tell Harper what he is? Koradon is making trouble for Angelo. He wants him to join and rule with him. Angelo refused and Koradon decided to get him to agree by any means. Harper might just be that means to get Angelo to come around. This book will have readers thinking that there is a possibility for demons and angels to be among us. I enjoyed the fantasy of it all and all of the characters. I can't wait to see what happens in book two.

Sexily, Sinfully, Deliciously, HOT!!! This is that book that has the hot guy, the equally beautiful girl who is unsure of herself, but there’s so much more to it. Sex demons, fallen angels, vampires, witches, my mom’s an Angel, my dad’s a demon and I thought I killed him.

Harper’s favorite uncle Duke passes away - he’s an octogenarian that has a heart attack driving. Harper loved him fiercely and he doted on her because her parents were never around for her and her sister KiKi. At the funeral, she meets a handsome, dark stranger that makes her feel…everything. He’s Duke’s client, he’s actually about 80% of Duke’s firm’s business where Harper currently uses her law degree as a glorified paralegal. This stranger, Angelo St. Claire; billionaire, reclusive, shark in business, water, and in bed, but he’s also so much more. Mr. St. Claire is a well rounded demon who wants Harper as his personal, on call, concierge, consigliere. Oh but he wants her for so much more. He invades her dreams, reads her emotions, and eventually realizes he needs her like a flower needs sun. When hell comes calling, it threatens everything they’ve built in the short time together, but will letting her go destroy them both or save them from his evil father in Hell.

I enjoyed this book A LOT! The steam was worthy, the plot was as old as Tim: good versus evil, but it was an exciting twist. The players were perfect. Kiki was hilarious and the dynamics between her, Harper, Angelo, and David…muah! If you haven’t read this book yet, it’s a treat you’re depriving yourself of.

I enjoyed this book, it was fun, and exciting and I am really happy it didn’t end on a cliffhanger. I don’t think I have read anything by Ms. Jade before, but she has caught my interest now, so I will be looking out for more, and especially for the next book in this series!

5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.

4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.

3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.

2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.

1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

A great story where a sex demon faces an impossible task. Preventing him from falling in love with his lawyer.

Angelo is the outcome after a relationship between a demon and an angel. When his father killed his mother, he turned against the underworld by killing his father. Only his father is not dead and tries to get him to join him in the underworld. Even though Angelo is in the human world, he loathes his stay because he feels everyone's emotions as an empath, until he meets Harper. She is the niece of his previous lawyer who passed away. Duke knew his personality, the good and the bad. Now his niece is his new lawyer.

Harper graduated from a prestigious university, Yale, and works with her uncle. After his death, she 'inherits' his client, as it were. At the first meeting she is already attracted to him and her dreams revolve around him and the things he makes her feel. The overwhelming feeling she has around him turns into wonder and leads to love. But parts of Angelo remain unknown to her and when the danger of the underworld increases, Angelo thinks it would be a good idea to break off the relationship.

Is he wrong about that!

Angelo must expose himself if he wants to save Harper and she accepts him for who he is. It ends with a cliffhanger where Angelo realizes he has to kill his father but now definitely and he has to protect Harper from whatever comes their way.

Great story that shows the attraction between Angelo and Harper well. I look forward to the sequel.

Angelo is a half-demon, half-angel, living the high life of a billionaire after being rejected by the angels and exiled by the demons after his demon father kills his angel mother. As an empath, he mostly keeps to himself, but quickly falls for his new attorney Harper after her uncle dies, and he hires her to fufil an oath to her uncle. He does his best to bring out her confidence, but he's drawn to her and uses his powers to come to her in her dreams.
I'd like to say that's creepy, but it's oh so steamy. My favorite is how mad she gets when he doesn't take it futher, because in her dreams, she leaves her fears behind. It doesn't take long for that to topple into the real world, and of course, cause some serious drama.
Her sister is a quick witted smart mouthed fireball who quickly falls for Angelo's best friend, who is of course also a demon. Everyone in Angelo's world wants a piece of him, except Harper. She just wants him. He tries to protect her and of course (we all see it coming) breaks up with her in order to do it, but swoops in when his father tries to steal Harper and Angelo is faced with his feelings.
I'm hooked on this series. I'm so excited for the next one. He's saved her, but I'm not sure he really did. She's not dead but they are far from out of the woods. I knocked out this book in a day because the story line flowed so nicely without dragging and rewritting the same part from both POVs. It says by claiming her that he has sealed both their fates, and I'm excited with how the next book will go.

I was hoping for a spicy blend of demonic suspense and romance, but this book ended up feeling drawn out and repetitive. Honestly, it could’ve been condensed into one book instead of two. The focus on past relationships before the main romance even begins felt like unnecessary filler.

Harper, an attorney, didn’t come across as strong or confident, despite her career. She’s constantly stressed and a bit clueless, and I found myself questioning why Angelo, the male lead, was so interested in her. Her naïveté made it hard to believe she wouldn’t pick up on the fact that Angelo is a demon, especially when he reveals it at the end. The dialogue often felt stiff, and much of the action happened inside Angelo’s head, leaving the story feeling a bit flat.

What worked for me were the secondary relationships—especially Angelo’s bond with his first-in-command, David, and Harper’s connection with her sister, Kiki. These added some depth, but the romance itself felt forced, and the *happy-for-now* ending left me wanting more closure.

The premise had potential, but the pacing and unresolved plot points made it frustrating to read. **3/5 stars**—an okay read, but it needed better pacing and less filler.

The premise of a Demon character possessing empathy is a truly captivating and refreshing twist, setting this story apart from the usual tropes in the fantasy genre. I found myself completely engrossed in this original and imaginative narrative, drawn in by the compelling characters and the intriguing plot. The characters were particularly well-developed, each with their own unique motivations and flaws, making them feel incredibly real. The plot, in turn, maintained a strong sense of suspense and intrigue from the very first page to the final chapter. I was also impressed by the author's skill in crafting a world that successfully blended fantastical elements with a believable foundation, making the entire story feel immersive and authentic. Although there were a few minor instances where the pacing could have been slightly smoother, these were only minor hiccups in an otherwise exceptional reading experience. Overall, "A Demon's Touch" is a captivating and memorable read that I wholeheartedly recommend to fans of fantasy romance, especially those who appreciate complex characters and engaging storylines.

A Demon's Touch is book 1 of The Soulless Series, following the story of Harper and Angelo. First off in the last chapter of A Demon's Touch, I love how Angelo's mother comes to his aid with saving the woman who brings out his light in him. I also love how Angelo believes that Harper deserves better than him, but Harper wants to stay with him because she loves him. I also loved how he finally reveals to Harper not only is be part angel and demon, but he's also an empath who can feel the emotions of those around him before they themselves feel. I thought author Ella Jade did a phenomenal job of starting the story between Angelo and Harper. A Demon's Touch had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next. I found that each chapter flowed with ease from one to the next. I'm looking forward to reading A Demon's Sins which is the continuation of Angelo and Harper's story. I would highly recommend A Demon's Touch to readers who enjoy reading a paranormal romance that isn't about some kind of shifter. I love the occasional demon romance story.

Harper Whitmore and her sister Kiki are at their Uncle Duke’s funeral. Harper sees an attractive stranger in an expensive suit standing in the doorway of the funeral parlor. Uncle Duke was 80 years old and had a heart attack while driving. He was there for Harper her whole life and was especially happy when she became a lawyer like him.

Angelo St. Christian is the only empathetic sex demon in history. His father was a demon and his mother was an angel. He is condemned to Earth for “killing” his father. Duke Whitmore was his lawyer. When Angelo is summoned to the gates of Hades, his body sleeps but his subconscious mind is there. They only summon him when they have a reason. This time they want him to come home to Hades, but Angelo tells them no.

Angelo has requested that Harper be his personal lawyer now that Duke has died. He promised Duke to take care of Harper. One of the senior partners calls Harper and tells her to give Angelo whatever he wants because he makes the firm a lot of money.

I love that Harper and Angelo clash from the beginning. She stands up to him.

Spice: 5/5
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Demon Romance
Content Warnings: Violence
ARC Source: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
PoV: Dual: Harper and Angelo
Thoughts: A Demon’s Touch by Ella Jade is a devilish blend of chemistry, spice, action, danger and redemption. From the opening chapter, the pacing is taut and compelling, drawing the reader into a world where danger and desire intertwine seamlessly. While some readers may crave more extensive character backstory, Jade’s approach is refreshingly restrained. By offering just enough detail to spark curiosity, she invites readers to engage imaginatively, filling in the blanks and forging a personal connection with the characters. This narrative choice enhances the sense of mystery and keeps the focus on the unfolding drama. For those seeking a well-paced gothic romance with a seductive edge and a touch of darkness, A Demon’s Touch is an irresistible read.

I’ve been with Ella since the early days and have read most of her library. I am not a paranormal fan. I don’ read these books but it was Ella so I had to try and I really enjoyed it. This might. Ot be a troupe I read but I will read this series for sure. This story is about Harper and Angelo's journey. Angelo is a demon with empathy and he’s the only one. You wouldn’t think of a demon with empathy so being sent to earth and living with humans is excruciating for him. Then he meets Harper and everything in his world shifts. He wants to stay on Earth now but Hell wants him back and puts a bounty on Harper’s head to make him agree. This story proves Ella can write anything and make it compelling and entertaining.

A Demons Touch

I wish I could give this book more than five stars.

I haven’t read many paranormal books lately hard for me to find something interesting but this book is so hot. It grabbed me from the first page. Great plot loved all the twists and turns. The characters (hello, hot sex demon) were interesting and exciting. It made me sad when I finished it ( I didn’t want it to end). I Will be patiently wait for the next book.

Angelo St. Christian was banished to earth because of an act he committed centuries ago. Living amongst mortal Is like living in hell for a demon empath but meeting Harper Whitmore makes it tolerable. Now he’ll wants him back and they will stop at nothing to make sure he complies.

I received this this in exchange for and fair and honest review.

How the mighty will fall in this sexy, tantalizing romance of empathetic Demon Angelo St. Christian, the only one of his kind, living in the world of mortals, and hating every moment of it, that is until he meets Harper Whitmore, the great niece of his deceased attorney.
Things really start to heat up amidst the intrigue, suspense, doses of humor and machinations from the denizens of purgatory when these two click and the fun begins.
I enjoyed this well written story whose main characters were engaging and likable and provided an exciting non-stop immersive read. There is an HFN ending which has me looking forward to jumping back into Harper and Angelo’s story in the next book!

I loved this book. It's the first book I've read by this author, but the premise of an empathetic sex demon falling in love with a human woman was an immediate must-read for me. Great world building. I loved the characters. Harper and Angelo have such great chemistry. I was really interested in Angelo's personality and character. I loved his empath senses and how he handled himself. I also loved the secondary characters. Kiki was fun, and I really liked David and Greta. As much I loved watching their relationship develop and unfold, the stakes become high and dangerous when Hell and evil demons become involved. An exciting read. I couldn't put it down and can't wait for the next book. 5 stars.

I seriously can’t begin to explain how much I loved this book. I found this series by accident but I’m bloody glad I did. Yes it had some super hot scenes and the chemistry between Angelo and Harper is one of those epic loves that transcends everything. However it was the story itself that held my interest all the way through and I loved that it wasn’t a little book but took me a few hours to read. I loved it, the book is one that isn’t just full of sex but has a pretty unique and brilliant story. It has action , excitement and .
I can’t wait to read the next book. I think I may have found my next favourite author.

The cover has the ubiquitous tattooed hunk, but my interest is piqued by the blurb touting an empathic sex demon. Ok, I'm interested. The story unfolds around a confident half-demon, half-angel and a diffident lawyer who have 2 things in common. First is her deceased uncle who was the demon's lawyer and second, sex. Lots and lots of sex. (You can't tell me you're surprised by this.) Ms. Jades writing is good, the storyline is well crafted but does drag a bit and could have benefited from some editing as well as a proofreader. I received an advance reader copy as well as borrowing the book from KU. Mistakes I noted in the ARC were still present in the published version. I haven't decided whether to read the net in the series as this can easily be read as a standalone.

Harper (Lawyer), Angelo St. Christian (Business Tycoon), When they met, they had one thing in common. Her Uncle Duke and her Mentor was Angelo’s Personal Lawyer, until Duke passes away, so Angelo decides that as a favor to Duke he’s going to take Harper under his wing as his new Personal Lawyer.

Harper thought she was going to her first day as the Personal Lawyer to Angelo in order to stay close to her favorite uncle, but she could never have imagined what she would fall into.

This book has plenty of love and steamy scenes, but it also has enough of a story to break everything up. I loved this book, and 100% will be recommending it to all of my friends and family.

Harper meets Angelo at her Uncle Duke's funeral. Angelo was a major client at Uncle Duke's law firm, where Harper also works. Angelo wants Harper to be his new lawyer. Harper has a problem understanding Angelo as they work together and get to know each other. Angelo has difficulty keeping the fact that he is a sex demon, half angel and an empath from Harper. How will she react if she finds out? Love this unique steamy story that has everything. All the feels, fallen angels, vampires, demons, angels, witches and twist and turns. Can't wait for the next in the series!

Harper is a young attorney working for her Uncle when he passes. She inherits his client, Angelo who is a mysterious billionaire. Angelo has a lot of secrets and as Harper becomes entrenched in his business, things heat up between them. The concept of this book was interesting and different, Angelo is the son of a demon and an angel and has been banished from both homes. Harper is an innocent that brings out the
compassion in Angelo. This was a slow build-up and although not a true cliff hanger there are definitely some unresolved issues and I am looking forward to book 2.

When Harper's beloved uncle dies, she ends up taking on his client Angelo as his attorney. The law firm she works for is VERY clear that Angelo gets anything and everything he wants and she is to be there for him whenever/wherever. This is not what she expected and she isn't about to let Angelo walk all over her. Yet at the same time, he is somewhat intimidating (and hot! Literally!) She doesn't know that he's a sex demon and he's decided he wants HER.

What's fun about this book is Angelo's complete obsession with Harper. Unfortunately, as much as Harper is willing to stand up for herself against Angelo and his overbearing personality at times, she is incredibly unsure of herself as an attorney and I find that a bit annoying.

It was still entertaining. I ALMOST thought it was going to be a whychoose with Angelo's security guy but that's ok.

I am not a big fan of paranormal books but I love Ella Jade so I had to read and I am so glad I did. This was an amazing book with a very hot and sexy demon named Angelo. He was deemed to rome the earth because of something he did centuries ago, it was excruciating for him until he met Harper and everything changed. Things don't always go the way the should when Hell wants him back and puts a bounty on his head. Will he go back or can they find away to stay together? I can not wait for the next one. A must read.
