Hello. I’m Evie Prince. A proud forty something bi-racial highly successful woman. I’ve always known where I was going and what I was doing. Until I found myself in a place that I never thought I would be–single, living through a pandemic, and unemployed.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the unthinkable happened. Someone asked–What do I really want to do with my life. What kind of foolish question is that? I was soon to learn it was the kind of question that would turn my world upside down. Trying to answer that question led me from Colorado to Martha’s Vineyard and uncovered things about my family that would either make or break me.
Follow my journey to self-discovery and meet the people in my life that helped me remember that everything I needed was contained within.
Inspirational writer Victoria Wright has embarked on a journey to find her true self. In the process, she is remembering how to be whole, to look inward for guidance, and to know her truth. Her journey is full of beauty and discovery. She invites you to embark on your own journey of remembering.
Victoria is from Martha's Vineyard, MA and is a member of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head Aquinnah. Currently she and her family reside just outside of Denver, CO.
Yes, this book is written as a contemporary/women literature, but it is so much more! It's inspirational.
Evie is a woman at a crossroads. Her life just completely fell apart, yet all these random people are telling her the same thing--"listen to your heart," and "you should meditate." She doesn't know what that means, and she doesn't know how to meditate because she can't turn her brain off. However, as the days go by and all these random people guide her, she starts hearing her inner self guiding her, too. It's funny because she thinks she's losing her mind until her life guides, those random people turned friends, explain what that voice is, that everyone has one if they would just listen.
This resonated so much in me. I had a moment of frustration, where I just didn't want to deal, and then I finally heard MY inner voice, my higher self, for the first time! And the advice it gave me made a bad situation so much easier to deal with.
This book is a story, but it's also a guide on how to find your calm, find your own happiness, passion, and how to manifest your best life possible. Think negative and negativity will follow you. However, if you think positive, good will come. And put your ego in check!
I love how Victoria teaches these lessons through a story, a journey. It makes learning so much fun. You get a great story along with the guidance to discover your own higher self!
I loved writing this book, as I was not that different from the main character Evie Prince. I shared the emotions that I felt and the fears that I had and continued to have throughout. In a nutshell, the story illustrates the spiritual awakening process. It shows that when you quiet your mind, you will receive the answers to the questions you have been asking.
Evie's journey shows that living the spiritual life is a practice similar to yoga. Awakening is only the beginning. It takes focus and love because the journey can get bumpy. You can have “good” or “bad” days, but with each moment, you have the opportunity to create the life you desire.
Throughout the book, there are many lessons or reminders. The reminders are there to jog the reader's memory on how to create the life they want to live. How to keep ego at bay, to appreciate, and to love.
Stay tuned for the last two installments in the Evie Prince series to launch this December and March 2022. Please add the books Red, Red, White (book 2) and One Deep Breath (book 3) to Goodreads. Thank you.
