It’s amazing to me how this author can pack a full story in so many short pages. You get everything….plot, romance, action…you name it. This one like her other books has a mafia plot. Devlin is one of the head of the “families” and he owns a strip club. Diamond runs away from her abusive father and tries to get a job as a dancer at the club. Devlin takes one look at her and he is a goner.
Love the insta-love/lust and the “touch her and I’ll kill you” vibe. Very well written.

"Plump" is the story of Diamond and Devlin.
Our curvy heroine is on the run from an oppressive, abusive family when she meets the big bad hero, a casino owner. He takes her under his wing, makes her his woman and helps her gain some confidence in herself. The book was OK but I liked the epilogue.

I need a full length novel by Mink STAT. This was my first book by her and I absolutely adored this.

Cute but corny, with some spice thrown in for taste.
Which pretty much describes all of MINK’s novellas.
I had a good time though. Some of it was cringey lifetime movie acting type stuff, but it sort of settled after the first 25%. Not completely, but enough so that I wasn’t making faces at the naive and sickly sweet dialogue.
The plot was light. The sex was steamy but not the best. We didn’t get too deep into any part of the story.
It was an enjoyable, quick read.
Just maybe don’t expect much.
And if you’re gonna pick it up, be prepared to suspend your disbelief.

Getting so many second hand embarrassment.... I don't think I can continue reading this (maybe just skimming through 😭)
The h is so qUIrkY, that she comes off as childish.
Please act like an adult and stop literally running away from things😭. (like literally)
Someone kinda fatshamed her while she's on stage, she got embarrassed so she turned to run (okay this I kinda get it, so it's alright, but I still cringed lol)
When h was in H's house, she went to his bedroom and caught him masturbating in the shower... What does she do? Run to her bedroom... (anyway I also cringed bcos she went to a stranger's bathroom just like that, and the H chased her when she ran. h was crying bcos she saw H's penis😑😑😜)

I love it when an author gives us lead who’s totally relatable. Not some perfect stick thin figure.
Diamond is our lead, she fled her father and her home. Living in a shelter she takes a job as a dancer. When our lead Devlin spots her on the stage of his club he’s hooked. Shes the one he didn’t know he needed.
It’s definitely over the top, but it’s also swoon worthy. An alpha male who loves fiercely and will kill anyone who disrespects his woman.
It’s always a yes from me with this author!

So it's incredibly disheartening that the people at the strip club won't give her a chance. Considering that they have to go to a club and pay to see someone naked, you'd think they'd be a little more accommodating. However, I digress. Devlin was all in the minute he saw her. He loved what he saw, with everything in him and couldn't comprehend that someone else would not. I loved the way he took care of her (and her cat!)

This book was so good & I really enjoyed the body positivity we got from Devlin. He really brought Diamond’s confidence in herself up so much she found herself more confident & it was beautiful to see herself fall in love with not only Devlin but also her new amazing life. Plump had the classic intimidating alpha fall at first sight for his future wife & nothing or no one would take her from him. I absolutely loved this book & recommend it to romance reads and MINK fans!

I am in this for the cat.
Mostly. Well, for the over-the-top smut and cuteness, too, not going to lie. But the cat!
I fell right away in love with the cat in this story because, you know, in every story by this author we get a new kind of cat with its own personality and traits, and this one is so cute and loveable. The plot is adorably dark which is a bonus :-D

Devlin runs his city, all is calm but little does he know it is the calming before the storm. When he sees new stripper Diamond, he knows she will be his. He gets her off the stage before she can do her first dance, hiring her as his assistant. Devlin intends to claim Diamond as his but he is not aware of who her father is. A war is about to start over the woman who is quickly claiming his heart, who will win?
This was fun, a bit rushed but overall entertaining. I thought Diamond was a bit too naïve though at least for me. She grows under Devlin and the chemistry is there. Good story.

Short books aren’t really my jam. For me personally there’s not enough development of characters or the plot for me to actually connect the way I want to when reading which makes me so sad. Everything just felt a little rushed in this book. Still overall a very enjoyable read I just wish there was more to the book. Also I absolutely adored the body representation in this book for Diamond!

This was surprisingly good - after you get over the insta love thing that seems a bit unreal.
It has dancing (as in stripping), a lot of heat, the classical mafia drama and a great hero & heroine.
Always love a hero who protects his girl against her toxic family. So it's a win.

It’s like when you sneak into the kitchen in the middle of the night to eat ice cream directly out of the tub. You’re a little ashamed, but very satisfied. That’s exactly what this book is. It also has literally every cheesy romance trope.

C’est cool d’avoir une héroïne « grande taille » et de mette en avant la dysmorphie mais ça aurait pu être plus développer car on aborde juste un peu le sujet sans l’approfondir.
Devlin est vraiment super, bienveillante et protecteur. Diamond est sympa mais elle fait un peu plante j’aurais aimé qu’elle s’impose plus.
Après ça reste très rapide mais c’est le concept des histoires, c’est aussi un peu clichée et surréaliste mais pour une bonne lecture, rapide et sans prise de tête ça fait clairement le job.

That story was awesome. The hot older underworld boss that fell head over heels in love with the younger woman that searched for a job at his club. One look and he was a goner 😍😍😍 Little did he know that she had a secret😉 Insta love,sweet,safe(DV?), romantic with steamy encounters and action in it too😍😍😍😍 Great characters and a sweet storyline 👍👍👍

I could finish this easily but I know it will have a HEA, I know the issues I have will persist, and I’m not really invested. DNF @ 41%.
I read it because I’ve heard a lot about Mink’s books and this just came out with positive feedback so I thought I’d give their writing a go. So I don’t know how relative this is to their other books but this story was very “too good to be true”. And I wanted a softer feel-good book between heavier series, but this was just a sickly sweet type of story for me. It started off okay and cute in spots but then it didn’t really develop for me.
What you have is the (criminal) rich guy who instantly falls in love with the (runaway) curvy and innocent virgin girl. He swoops in upon seeing her curves and plays white knight to her life all the while she is a sweet (naïve idiot) going a long with it.
If someone bullet pointed all of his actions without context or inner monologue you would think “red flag!”. You would think that because they represent some of the actions that lead to a partner having too much control and potentially abusing said control.
This was his first 24hrs with her:
- Doesn’t allow her to retain a position at his club instead insisting she will be his (unnecessary) assistant
- Doesn’t allow her to leave without him, and immediately demands she will be living with him upon seeing her residence followed by mild intimidation of those trying to protest
- No professional boundaries, verbal sexual comments, and sexual acts within a 12hr span of knowing her (all initiated by him)
- Remains by her side constantly, takes her with him everywhere
- Takes action and makes purchases for and about her personal life without discussing them with her first
- Never actually discusses the job he’s apparently hired her for
Now okay individually you may think these are innocent acts but it’s all borderline creepy on a good day and stalker/controlling behaviour on a bad one. And I’m getting this is probably meant to be a “fairytale” type romance in that everything is okay in the end, but it is too unrealistic for me and I don’t want to read another ignorant portrayal of “true love”. If I wanted that I’d read one of the original Sleeping Beauties about the princess falling in love with her rapist and it being okay because it was true love in the end. And I’m by no means saying this story is the same as the OG Sleeping Beauty stories, but it promotes the same idea that his behaviour is okay if it’s done because he loves her. By that token the crazy stalker in “Find Me” can be excused for killing the lead’s family for trying to take her away from him.
My point is, though everything in this story will work out in the end and there is no ill-intent behind Devlin’s actions, I don’t want to read something that normalizes his behaviour. Because outside the vacuum of the fictional world of “Plump” boundaries are important and a relationship that starts this way is most likely not healthy. If I wanted to read about men not respecting a woman’s boundaries or independence I’d be reading a historical romance.
And all of Devlin’s behaviour is further enabled by our lead Diamond who is as sweet and ignorant as a 9yr old. She kept reminding me of either a little girl or a cheesy porn actress. Like I wanted to like her, there were a few small flashes of a real woman in there but for the most part she doesn’t fight for her independence or question if she should trust Devlin’s at all.
Her ignorance is seen when:
-She chose to be a stripper and promptly runs at the first insult despite choosing a job knowing she would be vulnerable to others opinions.
-She doesn’t fight going to stay in a strange man’s home alone after living in a women’s shelter for however long.
-She accepts a job without discussing particulars or questioning the job in the first place.
-She invades Devlin’s personal space and discovers he has guns in his end table (plural) and is masturbating while imaging her. He then invites her to join him promptly followed by him listing some of the sexual acts he wants to engage in with her. This is all within the first few hours of meeting and her thinking she’s there as an employee.
-She then begins as his “assistant”, does no work and fools around with him, meets his actual assistant without realizing it, while he’s making extravagant purchases for her without her input.
ALL OF THIS and she doesn’t stop to question it once. Oh and did I mention when he told her flat out not all of his business is legal? No? Well he did. All within 24hrs. To a girl running away from a controlling upbringing who for some reason is not alarmed at all about his behaviour or the fact that he’s admitted to being a criminal. It’s like here’s a curvy virgin and we’re going to take away any intelligent thought so Devlin’s can play “Pretty Woman” with her.
So yeah. This was not for me. I should have been able to read this just for entertainment value but it had no bite for me. Like I said, sickly sweet in it’s unrealistic idealistic insta-love insta-lust universe.

- Never actually discusses the job he’s apparently hired her for
Now okay individually you may think these are innocent acts but it’s all borderline creepy on a good day and stalker/controlling behaviour on a bad one. And I’m getting this is probably meant to be a “fairytale” type romance in that everything is okay in the end, but it is too unrealistic for me and I don’t want to read another ignorant portrayal of “true love”. If I wanted that I’d read one of the original Sleeping Beauties about the princess falling in love with her rapist and it being okay because it was true love in the end. And I’m by no means saying this story is the same as the OG Sleeping Beauty stories, but it promotes the same idea that his behaviour is okay if it’s done because he loves her. By that token the crazy stalker in “Find Me” can be excused for killing the lead’s family for trying to take her away from him.
My point is, though everything in this story will work out in the end and there is no ill-intent behind Devlin’s actions, I don’t want to read something that normalizes his behaviour. Because outside the vacuum of the fictional world of “Plump” boundaries are important and a relationship that starts this way is most likely not healthy. If I wanted to read about men not respecting a woman’s boundaries or independence I’d be reading a historical romance.
And all of Devlin’s behaviour is further enabled by our lead Diamond who is as sweet and ignorant as a 9yr old. She kept reminding me of either a little girl or a cheesy porn actress. Like I wanted to like her, there were a few small flashes of a real woman in there but for the most part she doesn’t fight for her independence or question if she should trust Devlin’s at all.
Her ignorance is seen when:
-She chose to be a stripper and promptly runs at the first insult despite choosing a job knowing she would be vulnerable to others opinions.
-She doesn’t fight going to stay in a strange man’s home alone after living in a women’s shelter for however long.
-She accepts a job without discussing particulars or questioning the job in the first place.
-She invades Devlin’s personal space and discovers he has guns in his end table (plural) and is masturbating while imaging her. He then invites her to join him promptly followed by him listing some of the sexual acts he wants to engage in with her. This is all within the first few hours of meeting and her thinking she’s there as an employee.
-She then begins as his “assistant”, does no work and fools around with him, meets his actual assistant without realizing it, while he’s making extravagant purchases for her without her input.
ALL OF THIS and she doesn’t stop to question it once. Oh and did I mention when he told her flat out not all of his business is legal? No? Well he did. All within 24hrs. To a girl running away from a controlling upbringing who for some reason is not alarmed at all about his behaviour or the fact that he’s admitted to being a criminal. It’s like here’s a curvy virgin and we’re going to take away any intelligent thought so Devlin’s can play “Pretty Woman” with her.
So yeah. This was not for me. I should have been able to read this just for entertainment value but it had no bite for me. Like I said, sickly sweet in it’s unrealistic idealistic insta-love insta-lust universe.

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
Diamond has run away from her Chicago mob boss father, needing a job she hears other girls at the shelter talking about an upscale local strip club. Diamond is on the plump side and has been ridiculed for it her whole life, especially by her father and his goons, but boy can she dance, so she gets the job. Devlin owns many businesses, legal and illegal, one is a nice upscale strip club, he takes real good care of his people, offers good salaries and benefits. When a rival mob guy, Alonzo, comes into to club to cause problems he heads out to the floor to stop him. But before he can approach Alonzo he spots Diamond on the stage ready to start dancing and he freezes. His attraction is instant and he knows she is going to be his. He loves everything about her, her big hips, thighs, breasts and butt, he’s enthralled. He has never felt this way about an employee of his, he does not touch the girls, ever. When Alonzo says some very rude things about her weight Devlin loses it, Diamond turns to run and almost falls until Devlin catches her and takes her straight to his office. Her attraction to him is just as instant and their chemistry is super hot. He tells her she is going to be his assistant, not a dancer, although she can give him plenty of private dances. They are so cute together, she is naive and sweet and he’s all possessive and protective. Especially when he puts together who her father is. Trouble comes when her father finds her, and demands her back. Devlin tells him she his and as soon as he runs her dad off he marries her. More trouble caused by her father and Alonzo. Devlin along with his right hand man, Malone and his assassin turned club manager Brenda save Diamond and kill all the bad guys. I love yous, more sexy times and sweet epilogue with two daughters and pregnant with their son.

First book by this author for me. Great writing style. The author really knows what he/she is doing.
For the book: welllllll, I don't even know how I stumbled upon this and why I read it. It seemed shortish on my kindle's library page, so I figured I can handle it over lunch and the evening...
Sooooo, no idea what I should have expected. I liked the background topic of her body image issues. I liked how he was so devoted to her. What I can't feel, is how a lifelong abuse can be healed after 3 days being with a man. I mean, she has suffered her whole life due to her father's and his men's treatment of her. There is no hint that she had any well meaning anchor in her life. She flees and lands in the lap of a mafia boss who kinda dom/sub/daddy-little-girl seduces her... she needs therapy and not trading one dominating man for another... and what are they really building their relationship on? Her despondency on him? Seriously, she has no education, no knowledge of the real world and they can kind of hit off a life long happy relationship? It's not feasible. I mean, they were sweet, but it's just no working like that... I know ooooh it's fiction and meant to be over the top and all, but still.... 🤪🧐

Diamond is down on her luck after escaping the clutches of her evil, mafia boss father. Now, she's dancing at a gentleman club...or she's trying to. Diamond knows she should guard her heart, but with a man like Devlin she can't help how fast she falls.
Devlin takes one look at the angel that is Diamond and knows she is his. With a body straight out of his fantasy's and a heart of pure gold he'll do anything to keep her safe. Including going to war with her father in order to keep her with him!
