English Translation :

Woh Ab Bhi Pukarta Hai is a short play, but its impact is far greater than its length. By the time it reaches the end, it feels as though the story has ended a little too soon, and the conclusion is somewhat abrupt. Yet, the emotions and questions it leaves behind feel complete in themselves. Its greatest strength is the way it brings to light a social reality that we often tend to overlook.

The play very effectively shows how, in some parts of the country, people belonging to so-called lower castes still have to bear the burden of the social legacy and oppression associated with upper castes. Here, by “lower caste,” I specifically mean those people who have still remained untouched by the benefits of the reservation system (“among its own category of castes”) provided under the Constitution of India—and whose financial condition is equally weak. In other words, along with caste-based discrimination, they also carry the burden of economic inequality. Perhaps, that is why the play continues to linger in the mind even after it ends. Short play, somewhat abruptly concluded, but deeply complete in the questions and sensitivity it leaves behind.

Very well written. Glued to the end. I can imagine the character talking in front of me.
