Really enjoyed this book. It is mostly a modern history, but with references to the author's personal experiences growing up in the Republic of Ireland. Not just dry history, but a real insight into the way the Irish see themselves and their place in the world.

It's about Ireland and the mythology they've created for themselves, but the reader can't help but rethink how they view their own country.
