Mia is growing up, unbeknownst to her, in a terribly abusive home. As Mia navigates her way through the end of fourth grade, she starts to question whether her home life is the same as that of her friends'. With the help of some incredibly strong women, Mia embarks at a young age on a journey to free herself from the pain and heartache of being an unwanted child.
Well written book about a very difficult subject. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to read this book with this subject, but the author handles it so well that I couldn’t put it down. Definitely recommended
From the moment I picked up this book and brought it home, I started reading it right away. I read most of it the first night and picked it up the following morning to finish it. I was impressed with both the story and how it flowed overall. It is definitely a book worth picking up and reading. It's the type of book that you simply can't put down. Thank you Sarah for such a great read!
I really appreciated this book.Reminiscent of "Room".A heavy topic for sure but ultimately a hopeful story The " voice " of the child- heroine is absolutely accurate & believable.Child sexual abuse by a female perpetrator is seldom told. This story is told well , written well, with empathy & a positive resolution. An important addition to this genre.

Very well written. A very good approach to a difficult topic that needs more attention. The characters were vivid, the perspective was very believable and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down! Highly recommend.
