He’s the best man. I’m the maid of honor. What could go wrong?
Spencer Cook is the love of my life and my ex-best friend. Three years ago, I let him walk away without telling him how I truly felt. Since then, it’s been radio silence between us. That doesn’t mean I forgot about him though. How could I?
Now he’s back, and my feelings for him haven’t changed. I still want him.
Could this be our second chance at love?

Liz is from bright sunny Queensland, Australia. She has always been a reader. When she was little she would be up late reading Garfield and Asterix comic books and also Footrot Flats. When she hit high school she read Tomorrow When the War Began by John Marsden and from there, her love of books continued to grow. She always has a book to read beside her bed along with a notebook for when inspiration hits at those crazy hours.
She is a stationary addict and a one-click addict. She loves everything books, authors and of course loves chocolate and lollies to keep her going.
This is a short emotional second chance romance. Spencer Cook a hot-shot sexy star football player that is back in town after a three year absence for his best friends Jackson's wedding. April hasn't heard from her ex-bestfriend since he walked out of her life three years ago to pursue his dream of football stardom. Heartbroken and feeling abandoned she has had a hard time moving on because she never told him that she was falling in love with him. Finding out he's back in town to attend her best friend Simone's wedding was a surprise and not a good one. He is going to be the best man and she in the maid of honor. Does he have a girlfriend, what will happen when they see each other again? Will she finally tell him how she feels or will he walk out of her life once again? Will he tell her why he never called her after being friends all those years? Or will the hurt and anger get in the way?
I received a free ARC from the author an I'm voluntarily leaving my review.
What a beautiful romance this short story is and it truly leaves you feeling wonderful when you have finished reading it. It may not be long in length but it has everything a good romance needs-great characters that have a sizzling chemistry, a problem that seems hard to fathom or solve, conflict and resolution, some humour and some beautifully described romantic gestures and scenes.
Spencer and April we met in book three of this fabulous Jilted series, I have to admit Spencer intrigued me. As a big football player I found him to be less conceited and more friendly than anything, of course, I shouldn’t generalise about footy players! In this story, getting to know both better is a delight and explains a lot about April’s actions in Something Blue. April I wasn’t sure about but found I liked her a lot in this book, she’s very real and, in fact, puts others before herself.
I totally recommend this sweet second chance at love romance to every person who likes to escape into a world of love and feel its fantastic affect.
This was a really engaging, second chance romance with Spencer, a professional American footballer, who moved from his hometown to pursue his dreams, and April the best friend he left behind.
I enjoyed the interactions between Spencer and April. Spencer comes across as a stand up guy even though he lacked some empathy when he was first reunited with April—he’d ghosted her for 3 years and then wondered why she was upset….April is an emotional wreck at times, but I love her humor and the fact she selflessly let the love of her life go, so he could pursue his dreams.
I really enjoyed this book, and I’ve loved reading about all the characters and their stories from this wonderful series, so I was thrilled to see that there’s a brand new series planned for a new character introduced in this book.
This was a short, easy to read romance that has a bittersweet love story full of misunderstandings and unspoken confessions at its heart ... I received an advanced copy of this book from the author.
So excited to read this book finally something a little light and clean is exactly what i needed.
I loved April and spencer but they made me laugh of how they thought they were helping eachother out by staying away from eachother.
This book was fun and sweet and i really loved it and by the end of this book i am so excited for what’s to come from this author especially where the new story is going to go.
