I was tasked by my best friend to deliver a final message of goodbye to those he had once left behind. Despite my grief, I made it to a strange, dangerous planet with the letter ready for them to read and my promise fulfilled to my dead friend.
Having done what was asked of me, I expected to leave but, as my brother used to say, tell the universe your plans and watch it laugh at you.

Now I’m stuck on a planet for six weeks where the veneer of civilization is easily wiped away, with four former Super Soldiers who don’t know quite what to do with me, and more danger every time I turn around.

But there is something about them that calls to my soul, that makes me want to soothe them, and invites me to trust them in a way I never have anyone before. My life isn’t my own. I will have to go back to my own home and leave them behind, yet each day I know them the idea of doing that becomes even more unfathomable.

My name is Raven. I’m just a girl lost on a strange world surrounded by danger, wondering why a planet I never knew existed can suddenly feel like home.

*Please note, this book is the first in a new series called Super Soldiers. It is a spin off from the world created in a finished series called Wings of Artemis. However, no characters from Wings of Artemis will appear in these books. The events of these books take place 15 years after the end of Artemis, and on the other side of the galaxy. It will take two books for Raven to find her happily ever after (so don’t expect all things resolved at the end of this book) and book 3 will begin a new heroine.*

Super Soldiers in space!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😚😔🤓🥰

The heroine: Raven - she escaped her planet in the middle of the night on a journey to the edge of the galaxy to deliver a note from her dead best friend Amias. Her two best friends, Amias and her brother Stone were both dead and she had to fulfill Amias’ last wishes before she returned to her planet to help those she could. Her planet, like many others was taken over by Super Soldiers and a man named Clarke owned everyone on the planet, including her. He owns her body and gives it out as he sees fit.

The Heroes: Ransom, Crew, Gunner and Mace - They were known as The Five, though one of them is now dead. They are ‘Enhanced’, Super Soldiers. Amias was one of them, but left them years ago, only leaving a note saying that he would never return. They always thought Amias would return. They lived on their planet in peace, protecting the humans and the humans on the planet taught the soldiers things they needed to know.

The Story: Raven delivers the note to the men and is ready to return to her planet, but the shuttle pilot who landed her there lied to her. The rains came as soon as they landed, with the rains comes electricity in the atmosphere at this time of year and it lasts six weeks. It is what they call the quiet time on the planet since nothing can land or take off. Raven is stuck there for the next six weeks.

The Super Soldier back story is a pretty good one. Apparently, they were created by a large corporation to be used in a fight against Earth. However, they lost the war, due to the fact that the people of Earth were so fierce, but also because Earth had sent out some message that caused some of the Super Soldiers to switch sides. Others weren’t affected by the message, and after they lost the war they were going to be destroyed until most of them escaped and went to little known and barely populated planets. Some, like the five and many that settled with them on their world, did so in peace with the humans on the planet. Though some, like Clarke thought they were better than humans and subjugated the planets they went to.

The one thing I didn’t like about this book was that I kind of wanted all the Super Soldiers to be good. But from the beginning I could tell there would be some sort of battle between the good Super Soldiers and some bad ones. So, our Heroes enhancements wouldn’t give them any edge since they were up against others with enhancements. Though overall, I really liked this story, it was different and interesting, as well as quite steamy. I wish there were more books in this series, but for now there is only one more and it hasn’t been released yet. Hopefully Rebecca Royce will keep adding to the series.

Special thanks to Cintia for the recommendation of this book.

One last promise to a loved one changes everything. Raven has slipped off her own planet and traveled the universe to give a final message to the five. And now they say she’s theirs. Crew, Mace, Gunnar, and Ransom are Super Soldiers, developed in a lab and bred to be killers but Raven makes them feel human. Her life has never been her own; forced to be a prostitute and denied an education, this is the first time she’s had any choices. They make her feel safe and treasured; she makes them feel. But can she outrun her past? Can they?

Everyone who has followed my reviews knows how much I love Rebecca Royce’s Wings of Artemis series. This is a spin-off of sorts. Super Soldiers were developed in a laboratory and experimented on to design perfect specimens with enhanced speed, strength, and senses. Some had additional powers. All were bred to be killing machines with no emotions and little concept of humanity. Many were unstable. But along the way, there were those who evolved and wanted to be more “human”. We were introduced to a few in Artemis, and this is their first story. I love it. There are endless possibilities of Soldier variations, so many dangerous combinations I love the character arc of these characters. The men are physical and intellectual perfection but lack the essence of humanity…and realize it. They have no reason to exist now that the war is over unless they discover it. They have dedicated their lives to protecting humans. The fragility of humans keeps them diligent but it’s still not enough. Then a girl shows up. She’s beautiful, brave, heartbroken, and a little damaged, and they suddenly have found their ‘reason’. Raven makes them feel like men and they are not about to let her go. Meanwhile Raven sees herself as lesser because, in her mind, she’s just an illiterate prostitute. She doesn’t see her resourcefulness or beauty. She’s never been allowed to dream and suddenly, these men are offering her the world and it’s full of possibilities. Loss brought them together but together they have so much to gain. And their love is enough to start changing the world. It’s a beautiful story.

Uncivilized is the first book in Rebecca Royce’s new Super Soldiers series. I was very excited when I heard about this series because I have long been a fan of the super soldiers from their appearances in previous series. Rebecca Royce’s world building and character development are incredible in this book, as usual. A strong badass heroine is also the usual in her books. And Raven, the FMC in this book, definitely fits that description. She is born into a life of subservience and degradation, yet it never touches her soul or her self-respect. When she loses the only two people she loves—her brother and her best friend, Amias—she sneaks off-planet to deliver a last message from Amias to the four friends he deserted years earlier. Those four friends (Crew, Ransom, Mace, and Gunnar) are all escaped super soldiers, otherwise known as enhanced, just as he was. When Raven is trapped on the planet due to severe electrical storms, she gets to know these men in a way she never expected. As super soldiers, they were bred for one purpose—to kill. They never expected to serve any purpose other than fighting someone else’s wars, so they’re still learning how to live as an ordinary human. As their two worlds clash and as Raven and these men grow closer, they learn from each other, lean on each other, and come to love one another. As intriguing as the relationship between Raven and her men is, the relationship between the men themselves—who are more brothers than friends—is just as intriguing. Those relationships along with an overarching, larger plot line combine to make this one phenomenal read. I’ve long considered Rebecca Royce to be the queen of paranormal RH romance, and this book just proves it yet again. This is a great start to what I’m sure will be an incredible series!

Raven arrived at her destination in a raging storm. She managed to get this far, and she would now keep her promise to Amias and deliver the message in her pocket to 'The Five'. The Frog and Bull was as Amias had described, she couldn't read it, but the image of a frog was much the same as what Amias had drawn for her.

The bar was packed with the enhanced, she wouldn't cower, she had a purpose, a promise to keep. The reaction she received when she asked for 'The Five' wasn't what she expected. They were threatening, large men and all she wanted to do was deliver the note from Amias.

Finding that she can't leave, that the pilot had lied, leaves Raven in a precarious position. One that Gunner and Mace solve immediately.

Gunner and Mace bring her back to the bar and discover how cold she's gotten being out in the elements. They thought a hot shower, but of all times for it to happen the hot water went out. Instead, they wrapped themselves around her in the guest room bed warming her with their bodies. They asked Raven to tell them about her home, Amias and Stone.

Gunner, Mace, Crew and Ransom all have feelings for Raven that have them denying themselves the machine that takes away the urges. They can only hope to woo Raven into their lives, so she'll stay with them.

This planet is a blend of Super Soldiers and Humans that live together harmoniously. Yet there are threats out there and we see a few of them in this book and how Crew and the others deal with it.

I love the way we are introduced to this new series, there's action, romance, rescues, and plenty of sizzle too.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This is the first book in the Super Soldier series and this is a spin-off of the Wings of Artemis Series.
You don't need to have read the Wing Of Artemis Series to read this one but i highly sugest you do as its an amazinf series
I was so excited when this series was released as i have been waiting for a long time and i have loved the super soldiers since the WoA series.
Now we get to see what happened to all of them and i as always the ability of the writer to spin amazing stories ,write well thought characters that are well developed and to create worlds once more shines through!
Filled with action and a strong FMC the author delivers a book that will captivate you and keep you on its pages.
Raven and "The Five" were truly a fun read despite the hurdles they went through .
As i mention, action filled with twists and turns to the story ,love brewing and super soldiers that have to face for the first times situations that humans live every day.
The author delivered an amazing first book for a very promising series!

Raven was born on a planet where people are property, all owned by the one Super Soldier. But her best friend’s dying wish was for her to deliver a letter across the galaxy, and she’s going to do it. She makes it, only to get trapped there by inclement weather.
This book starts once Raven has made it planet-side to her destination, and pretty much drops you straight into the thick of it. It’s space sci fi, but manages to be somewhat dystopian as well, and gives off some good wild west tributes.
Raven is one of those heart of gold characters, despite what’s been done to her, and a fragile little human Expect protector vibes. There’s some hammy dialogue in there, but overall it’s basically Pretty Woman in space where she gets multiple men.
Each book in this series is going to centre around a different female, and it’s already set up for two others. Though surprisingly, the next book is a different character again.

Overall, this was an okay story and it does show promise, however there seemed to be missing some back story on certain things were referenced that happened in the past but no other information to fill in the blanks as to what actually happened and why. It took me a little bit too actually finish the story because it just felt like things were missing through-out the story line as it progressed. I still have questions that were not answered in the story. I hope the author will fill in the blanks of the back story since it does actually affect the main characters in the story and possible other characters in any future stories in the world.

The main characters in the story were great and did show growth from when we first met them to the end of the story. It was well written and no grammar errors that I could find.

This is my first Sci-fi RH, and I loved every second of it. The premise is awesome, as is the world building. I can't say I am disappointed in any of it. Raven is such a strong character, she has a strong will, and a good heart. The super soldiers, or enhanced as raven calls them are a whole other mystery I can't wait to see unravel.
I love the idea of sci-fi, the author can really do as she pleases, because who is going to say its wrong? so it's really a fabulous way to let that creativity flow, and this author does not disappoint. It's a well told story, I haven't read anything like it before. The clashing of their 2 worlds is handled really well and I imagine lots of readers will come to love raven and her men like I do.

L O V E D this!!!! ❤

As a huge fan of the WINGS OF ARTEMIS series (of which this is a spin-off...and no you don't need to have read it) I was sooooooo excited when this gem was released. Yup...as expected, Raven and her super soldiers did NOT disappoint! I loved diving into this new world of "The Five" and our brave FMC Raven. There's action, intrigue, suspense, and definitely a few surprises along the way 😉. I'm loving these characters oh so much!!! Raven showed bravery, heart and fearlessness. She took a true leap of faith, and her entire world opened up. Take the journey with her...you won't regret this adrenaline packed ride! I for one, absolutely can't wait to see where this series goes. Bring it on!

I’ve been looking forward to this series since Rebecca Royce’s Wings of Artemis series ended (aka one of my favorite series ever). I think the Super Soldiers are so interesting and add a fun variance to the romance dynamics. As far as Uncivilized goes, I think it was a very good introduction to this particular set of Super Soldiers on their side of the galaxy. I’m glad this one was a standalone and that the next will follow different characters. Getting to know these characters was great, and I did enjoy them and their sweet devotion to one another, and now I’m looking forward to getting glimpses of them in future books in the series. I really liked this one!

Raven just had to find them- the four remaining from the Five. The five enhanced or super-soldiers. Unable to read, she set off to another planet with one purpose- to deliver a message, a note. But in fact, she was delivering herself- away from Clarke and the horrors of her planet. The enhanced- Crew, Mace, Gunner and Ransom, that wanted to be human, for her and because of her. She not only changes their lives but those around her by juat being herself...What a fabulous book one in a new sci-fi RH series by Rebecca Royce! I can't wait for book 2.....

Raven is a woman with a mission to find four men and deliver a message to them. When she does find them Raven’s life turns upside down.
I enjoyed meeting Raven and the four men. Each man has his own personality yet they all fit and work well together. It was nice to see the way their relationship grows and strengthens. I like that Raven is a strong woman and is more than ready to fight for what she wants. Emotions are strong and the journey is hard for Raven and her men. Once again, the author has woven a wonderful world full of engaging characters and I was quickly immersed in their story.

I absolutely love these super soldiers and I’m so glad they finally have their own series. While we have seen super soldiers before, you don’t have to have read those books to read this one.

Raven lives on a planet where super soldiers rule and humans are mere pawns. When tragedy strikes, she finds herself stuck on a planet completely different. It’s there that she learns her true worth and that life doesn’t have to be the hell she’s been living.

Loved loved loved this book and can’t wait to see what other couples we get to see in this series.

Brilliant read.
I love that we get to see some more characters from this world. I love the supersoliders.
Raven has a journey to take. She needs to send a message, one that she struggles to make, but she must a death note is not one to be ignored. But the journey is not without its hardships especially when she is unable to return to her home. Raven is learning all the Time who she is and what she really wants.
brilliant read.

Raven is on a mission for a friend who has died, a trip to a far flung planet where she mist deliver a message. Once done she can return to the hell the she came from. The message is for 'the five', super soldiers who Raven has grown to distrust but can these men who were born to be killers show her that they can be more than what they were created for.
It is fabulous to be back in the world with the super soldiers, I can't wait for the next one!

This story seemed a little quick, without all the story build up of previous Rebecca Royce books. There are wholes, missing pieces which I wish we knew, but hopefully the next books will give us those tid bits that make her stories so amazing. Where this was not my favorite RR book, I still liked the story especially because of the Super Soldiers and their quest for balance and goodness. I can't wait to read more.

4🌟 for such a cute book.

I barely read any Single POV books (especially RH). But this book had kept me interested from first page to last.

There was a lot of fluff (cuddles, forehead kisses, sweet compliment) and mid spice.

Although the writing could have been a bit better and the MMCs could have been great given separate voices or characters (sometimes they tended to blend in with each other), but overall, I liked the book.

Love it!!!!

What a fantastic start to a new series. It never occurred to me to think about what happened to all those super soldiers. I am happier than ever to be a part of this world again. I liked Raven, and her men were so sweet. I loved meeting so many new characters, especially hoping we might be able read more about them!

Raven travels to another planet to deliver a message. She is surprised to learn that humans and Super Soldiers live in peace with each other. She is even more surprised by the five Super Soldiers to whom she is drawn. A very suspenseful, action filled read with twists, turns and steaming hot moments. Received a free copy and am posting an honest review.

I love the wings of Artemis series so I was so excited to be able to go back to this world. Being on the Evander side of the universe and seeing how these super soldiers are living their lives now it was fun. Loved Raven. She was strong and vulnerable at the same time. All of her guys were amazing. They were sweet and kind. I can't wait to see the rest of the books in the series. Must read

So great!!

It's actually been awhile since I got to the end of a story and yelled "NO" when I realized book 2 wasn't available yet. What a fantastically put together story about growth and love. I absolutely loved everything about "The Five" and truly cannot wait for the next book!

great plot, doesn’t make sense they are super humans but don’t know basic things about medicine. Also, there were really few spicy scenes, and they were repetitive. And i the ending felt rushed, i mean his brother wakes up and that’s it? Idk i expected more.
