Not loving it!

The first 4 books were amazing! I remember the first time I read Inception I stayed up all night to finish it, that book actually made me want to get back into reading again (which I did) but these last 3 books just keep getting worse and dragging on. You have to wait a year for every book and for what? Fluff! You get no answers just more story lines and it keeps getting more complicated. The whole thing with Gabriel was left field and felt wrong, she’s taking advantage of someone who is lonely and just wants to do the right thing. They have acted like cousins/brothers this whole time and now this bonding thing does not feel right that is Dom’s thing (& it’s very hot lol) it was very lazy and I didn’t like it, come up with some better ideas not the easy way out just to put a bunch of fluff into a book. I think I counted 3 scenes in total with Dominic and not that many with trace, half the book he was mad the other half out for the count. The whole book was basically about Gemma using Gabriel to get a high and to also “save” Dom, even though she made close to no effort to figure something else out. As you can tell I don’t like Gemma anymore

Side note I hated Gemma’s attitude towards her mom and sister yeah they aren’t the best but they have helped her in the past and want to help now. Tessa doesn’t understand her relationship with Dom (it really seems like Tessa doesn’t understand lovey feelings lol) she was trying to protect her. Also I think the blood bond with Gabriel is really disrespectful to Tessa as well. Gemma does nothing for anyone but her self and supposedly her boys who she constantly hurts.

I can’t give this book a super low rating because I loved the Beginning of the series so much, but I’m disappointed and I can’t handle Gemma’s shit anymore lol.

Jemma isn’t learning from her mistakes. She continues to make impulsive selfish choices that put everyone around her at risk and string along two guys who love her deeply. She has been dealt a rough hand, but I want to see her stepping up better and improving. This installment in the series just continued to prove her single-minded focus on getting what she wants, when she wants it. The Gabriel storyline is 100% proof of that. There is always purpose behind a choice that benefits her, but how much harm is ok for someone who has been nothing but supportive and protective to her? I want her to learn and do better. Please help her make a good choice for once without immediately undoing it with the next rash decision.

I actually wish this book could have been a little longer to better develop the “bring Dominic back to emotion” storyline. After all the closeness with Trace, it seemed kind of cheap to jump back to Dominic so easily. I get that there are a lot of Team Dom folks out there and they deserved some love on this go round, but it didn’t feel right like it has in the past.

I did not expect Trace’s last chapters in this story. Good twist there. The sweet moments with him were really nice. The next book has a lot to tackle as the final installment: punishment or redemption for the Order, Nikki and her hell baby, Gabriel’s connection, Trace vs Dom, Trace’s vision, some semblance of a future moving forward, character development for Jemma and finally making the right choice and not the rash one, explanations for all these alts jumping back in time and where they came from.

Would love to see some improvement in editing. There are still quite a few errors that pull me from the story.

Still enjoying this story and invested in the finale. Team Trace!

WHERE DO I START?!

I absolutely loved this series from the first book - I love me some trashy vampire romance and holy shit did Jemma and Dominic’s relationship deliver. However, I can also acknowledge that the other storylines outside of their relationship have been bit all over the place and not great.

The good news is I actually think this 7th book is some of Bianca’s best writing by far!! Although I was seriously pissed off Dominic didn’t really come in to it until the last quarter of the book, I felt like Jemma and Gabriel’s character development and the story writing in general really improved in this one. The storylines were finally believable. I didn’t get super bored like I usually do when it’s not about Jemma and Dominic.

*SPOILERS*

In saying that, I feel like an opportunity was missed to really dive in to Jemma bringing back Dominic’s emotions - it felt really rushed at the end. I didn’t mind the whole book leading up to Dominic coming back but I really wanted to read more about him actually coming back (if that makes sense). It definitely could have been a longer book!

I swear if Jemma doesn’t choose in the last book (Dominic obviously) and it turns into some sort of reverse harem thing I’m gonna be pissed off big time.

Is anyone else pissed off about Trace? I loved that Dominic had the upper hand as a rev with the bloodbond and special way of satisfying Jemma etc. I’m pissed off Trace can now have that too. Ugh.

Contains SPOILERS !!!

I love this series more then myself but yet I am disappointed. I was expecting so much more from this book… like every previous book was SO damn good I couldn’t sleep without dreaming about it. I can’t say I hate Jemma for her behavior because she reminds me of me. The whole thing with Trace and Dominic was just not enough. Yeh I love Gabriel, he’s the kind of best friend ever girl wants to have, but I didn’t like the bond at all. Every time they were bloodsharing and things got a lil too intense, I felt kinda awkward… I was expecting that Trace and Dominic are going to be a problem just like for 1/4 of the book and not the whole book. I was expecting more of the thing with Nikki and the baby and all the stuff that really mattered but it was only Jemma trying to save the both of them. Yeah I can totally relate but it was really unnecessary to carry it all the time. It felt like this was an extra chapter to the whole series and I missed Trace and Dominic all the time. Like I read the books for them and then they are not even there 😫
And besides all of that!!! Isn’t Jemma like the half-sister to Nikkis baby. Since they share the same father. And why do all the demons come now?? They don’t even mention that Jemma is actually the same kind as the baby!!! They even said they were waiting for something like this to happen, but it already did tho. Can’t they like turn their brains on and face the fact that Jemma is literally Lucifers daughter and the baby is her little half brother ??? I mean Jackie seams to be smart and she knows all that stuff, how come she can’t see something like this coming?? And if the baby is so bad, does it make Jemma bad either?? Or isn’t the baby going to be normal like Jemma was/is. I mean yeah that thing with the wings is confusing asf but like the baby ist the same kind, isn’t he ??

Ok I’ll stop there. I don’t even know how to rate this book bc I love the series and it breaks my heart to give it a bad rating, but I think I’ll go with 3,5-4/5 stars. This book was disappointing yeah but it also made me feel comfortable. I didn’t know I missed this world until the book came out

**SPOILERS**

I am super bummed about the direction this is taking. Jemma is a selfish, narcissistic, asshole and has stooped to using people she supposedly loves to get what she wants with Trace and Dominic (mostly with him though). The way she has screwed over Gabriel (someone she supposedly also loves) for her "DaRk AnGeL" is disgusting. She compromised him and his beliefs, not to save the world, but to bring back her boyfriend. If the ending to this series has Gabriel also in love with her I will never forgive the author. I can't fathom one person being in love with her let alone three. Also, she turned Trace into the one thing he didn't want to be because she doesn't want to lose him. So now all that matters is her and her wants? She justifies it by convincing herself he would want one more day with her and if that's not the most selfish, self absorbed load of garbage I've ever read, I don't know what is. Then to add her Alt coming from the future to convince her it's the right thing...just, no. There had to be some justification and reason for her to go through with it, so that was it. Have her Alt tell her to do it. But not because it helps her future. No, it's because he dies and she is sad.

Also, the love triangle is a joke. She has a soulmate but is also in love with someone else? Doesn't that defeat the entire purpose of a soulmate? I used to want her to end up with Trace, the loving, sweet, soul mate who do anything for her. Now though, I hope Trace lives happily ever after without her and with someone who actually deserves him. Everyone is in control of Trace's life but him and that's just awful. Both he and Gabriel deserve better than Jemma but I have a feeling they will be locked into some stupid love square in the final book. Hell, maybe Gabriel and Trace can fall in love and then the series can be redeemed slightly.

I really hope the final book fixes the convoluted mess created by this one, and quite frankly, the last book as well. What a tragic shift to what was originally a great series.

This story is dragging

I have loved all of these books but at this point this story feels like it’s dragging. This particular book could have been half the length and gotten the story across. This was just a lot of fluff. Disappointed in this one.

I’ve been in love with this series but this book was disappointing. It felt like filler, like the same things going around and around. There wasn’t really any character development, with Jemma or between Jemma and those around her. Things with Jemma and her sister are stagnant, things with her mother are stagnant. The council is still trying to kill her. Nikki has the power to birth Lucifer’s son and no one’s even trying to kill the demons flocking to her, they aren’t trying to lock her up. This series has so much potential but I hope the author realizes we need more. There is one book left and she has to pick a love interest, something has to happen with her and her mom or it’ll feel weird, something needs to happen with her sister, Gabriel. These characters need to progress. Jemma herself needs to grow more. She’s still very immature and sure she’s young but being a magical being and in these serious situations she should be growing.

In the eighth book we need to see Jemma emotionally mature, there needs to be resolution or some sort of connection with the mom, she needs to connect with her sister. Gabriel deserves something. There are so many loose ends and book seven just added more to it. Like the new powers the new Information about her dad. It feels like it’s going to be like game of thrones where the entire show was AMAZING and the last season was bizarre and made no sense and didn’t give a satisfying resolution. Anticipation, suspense, cliffhangers: yes. But not at the expense of creating a cohesive story. We’re losing connections, we’re losing vulnerability, missing opportunity for a lot of stuff.

Irreverent Review: Contains SPOILERS Read at your own risks

I absolutely love this author! She has created a word like no other. The story is well written with a couple twist and turns I did not see coming.

Now while I loved the book I was disappointed by a couple of things.

1.) Dominic ( who I absolutely love) didn't pop up until about 70% into the book! I did not find that groovy, but when he did finally make an appearance it def did not disappoint. Swoon!!!! I honestly thought this book would do more with Dom working through getting his emotions back, but that wasn't the case it was like BAM he worked through it in .05sec and over it. At least that's how I felt. I do feel like his and Jemmas scenes are waay more steamy/intense which does not disappoint me one bit. Hopefully that means he could be end game?... One can only dream! Fingers crossed!

2) Gabriel - Now I looooooove the blood bond and thinks it's sexy as hell! I just like it best with Dominic. I did think the scene in the kitchen where Jemma was drinking from Gabriel and he couldn't stop watching her intensely was super hot. Every scene that had to do with the blood bond and Gabriel I kept say " excuse me sir she's Doms! " I also felt like it was super weird with Jemma and Gabriel I see them more as brother and sister then anything else.

3) Trace - He was honestly better in this book even though it was small as well. I feel bad for him in This one Nikki def psychotic. I def don't like the idea of him being a vampire ...there's only room for one and his name is Dominic! Sorry I guess I'm very biased when it comes to my favorite vampire !

I'm not into Jemma jumping from one guy to the next especially one after the other. I feel at this point she needs to make a decision and not take the easy way out. This brings me to a theory of this becoming a reverse harem book. I usually wouldn't mind but it's super late in the game to have it switch up like this in a series. It just doesn't flow with the characters. Especially Jemma and Gabriel. Say what you want about Trace but I can't see him accepting that even if Bianca writes it like that. It's just not in their character if that makes any sense? I like to know what I am getting into and twisting it to possibly be a reverse harem .....I just don't know how I feel about that.

As I have said before Bianca is a beautiful writer and I love all her hard work
/dedication she puts into these stories to give her readers a wild ride. I will continue to read all her next projects. She is def a purchase at 1st sight author.

Thank you Bianca for this fantastic series!!

Warning Possible Spoiler if you have not read the serious, do not let me spoil it for you. I don't give details but it might confuse you lol

Things I didn't like about this book and somewhat from this whole series so far:

- I am confused on Jemma's whole natural father storyline, or maybe I just missed something I am not sure, but I thought that her bloodline was already established as her being the daughter of Hades isn't Hades the same as Lucifer? Or according to them 2 different entities?
- I also am so over Jemma and her whining like stop it already. It is so annoying for the main characters to be all powerful but can't get over their low self esteem.
- The whole lack of control when it comes to her lusting over Dominic and Trace, I can understand teenage hormones and attraction but this girl can't seem to keep her panties on the moment she looks at them, it's ridiculous to an extent.

What I like about this book and series, being a Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Vampire Diaries fan despite my dislikes and frustrations I got some of the similar vibes from this book that reminded me of these shows. Overall I do love the story line and most of the conflicts. The ending had me feeling crushed only because I wanted more and I was like NOoooo don't end it like this but thankfully there is another book and after 2 years from the first time I read this I can get to it. so happy about that.

Listen no matter the criticism this is one of my go to series that I will reread several times over, it just gives me that nostalgic feels like the shows I mentioned about. Its fun and fun paced, and you get all the paranormal angst you would love in a vampire type story line.

Really Jemma?

How can one girl involved in everything she has never grow up? She still lies constantly, is emotionally weak, totally self absorbed, and as dense as a cement wall.

Poor Gabriel is treated so badly by her but still loyal. He is like an abused dog

It is the guys that save this book just like they have to save her over and over. I have loved this series

*EDIT TO REVIEW*

Here we are nearly 6 years after book 1, with 6 more books behind it and the series with a massive fan-base. It’s interesting. Yes, the MC is 100% a dipshit. Even up until the very last page of book 7, she had me clenching my teeth. However, she’s grown (a smidge) in that time. And the storyline, the twists, the mystery… those are what kept me going. Also the romantic subplot (in some respects).

There were some books (I’m looking at you 5 & 6) that I wanted to just quit and more read them out of a feeling of obligation, curiosity where things would go, and just a feeling of conclusion. But at the end of the day… I’ve stuck with the series for 4 years now (ever since I first picked up book 1) and have very strong feelings about the characters. Which means I’ve become emotionally invested. Which is the mark of a good storyteller, no?

So…while I would never tell someone to “please go read the series because it’s sooooo good,” I can say that the story sticks with you. Makes you think. Makes you feel (and not always happy, fluffy emotions). And keeps you wondering. Which is the sign of a good read.

*Original review*

MUCH BETTER than book 6. Also way less angsty and dark. Sometimes I read this series and it does nothing but cause me a knot in my stomach from all the emotional tension and darkness. This was much lighter. There were many things to enjoy. We saw a much more grown-up, worthwhile version of Trace. Got VERY little of Dominic and what we did get felt like we were being thrown a bone. And I guess there are still a lot of things I wish had been handled differently.

A little less unimportant (filler) information and more time with Dominic (at the end) or even Trace. Without giving away too much and having spoilers, I guess I’ll say that this book is one a true fan and even a so-so fan of the series (like myself) should read.

But…a warning… what ended really nicely (in my opinion) at the end of Season 1 (book 4), should’ve just stayed there.

First… we are heading to what looks like RH. Which has taken 7 books to get to… 8, I suppose, because it hasn’t happened yet. Which has to be some kind of record for SLOWEST Burn RH series EVER. BUT… I am not a fan of RH. So… *sigh*

Second…I swear, things that are happening in Season 2 are an EXACT repeat of Season 1 except with slightly different circumstances and resolutions. But honestly?! It’s like a cut and paste of what happened in the first season. X has a problem. Jemma wants to save him. Everyone tells her it’s not possible. Her sister doesn’t support her. The Order tells her she’s the only one who can stop this bad thing from happening. She whines and cries and does impulsive, foolish things to try to save him and endangers the world while she’s at it. In the end, X dies anyway. OVER…DONE!!

Read at your own risk. But by now you’re probably invested and just want to know what happens (as do I). So just be forewarned.

Wow!

This series just gets better and better. I have missed these characters and especially my dominic. We return to Jemma dealing with the impending arrival of book is baby, Dominic having switched off his emotions and Trace walking around like a ticking emotional time bomb that could detonate at any time. Gabriel, he's just a darling. Always there for Jemma and has her back.
Jemma fights to keep both her boys safe. She fights to get Dom to switch on his emotions and she fights to keep Trace alive and free from what happened to him. Jemma learns some hard truths about her father's death and she swears to get her revenge. The last few chapters were the best. I won't give too much away but let's just say it involves Dom. Jemma them gets a surprise of her own right at the end of the book and I'm intrigued to see how she deals with this latest development. I adore this series and it's characters. I adore my dark vampire and he is definitely book boyfriend material. I can't wait to see what is next for Jemma and will now patiently wait for Bianca to work that writing magic she holds to bring us another amazing book. If you haven't read this series, then what are you waiting for? Just a note before you do though. I call dibs on Dominic, sorry but he's mine! ☺☺

As if things could get any worse for Jemma they do! I can't believe the decisions weighing on her poor shoulders. The things she has to endure but the strength inside her character to keep fighting when it would be so easy to cave in & admit defeat & let someone else carry the burdens. I had thought all through that Gabriel was in love with Tessa but now I also think he's secretly in love with Jemma. The cliffhanger this time leaves me wondering what Jemma has turned into & how dangerous she will be now she has learned to master all her secret buried abilities. Watch out Nikki I think your days may be numbered, as for the Order I think they'd better run too. Although I feel for Trace ( & Dominic surprisingly ) I hope there's a way for them to learn to live together & share her as they obviously both love her & we know she loves both of them. The poor editing is really annoying me, it spoils a fantastic series that has totally gripped me throughout. Off to book 8 wondering how it will all end but I don't want it to. This series has been a great read & I am fully invested in all the characters.

I don’t even know where to start, I read this one in probably day in a half.

As many of you feel Jemma is starting to get annoying, first of all all the bonding parts with Gabriel? Jesus.. it felt so inappropriate, specially because of Tessa? That made me feel so confused. Jemma uses him as she uses everyone else and I don’t like that at all. Jemma is selfish, reckless and sometimes a jerk. She spent the whole book annoying everyone myself included with her comments and actions. She cannot be honest with anyone for once.

The other thing I didn’t enjoy is how she bounces back to Dominic so fast. She is so toxic! Promises love to Trace and next thing you know she is doing the other one. I wish she could make up her mind and choose Dominic for once.. though I’m not sure she deserves love at this point. This is the first time I’m sure I like the “bad guy” better than the main male character.

Please Jemma , choose Dominic? Stop acting like a child, treat others with respect and put your sh*t together. I’m honestly starting to feel bad for Nikki..

Haven't read many books I love this days, so when this came out I was super excited.
I think this whole series gives me Vampire Diaries vibes and that's okay.
I like the relationship between Gabriel and Jemma- he really is someone she can trust.
Although, part of me wishes this book was a reverse harem so she could be with Trace, Dominic and Gabriel hahahaha

Overall a great book! A page turner and super funny.
I am happy Book 8 is the last book as i hate when series go on unnecessarily.

Loved the book - though the whole Dominic regaining his emotions seemed too quick. I felt like Gabriel and Jemma creating the Bloodbond took far more effort.

I’m also conflicted because now that Trace is a Rev, he and Jemma won’t get their ideal Happily Ever After (marriage, kids, etc) unless Jemma is already pregnant, which I mean, who knows! I kinda hope it’s possible, given the little boy from her dream in book 1 with “familiar gray eyes” - is he her son or is he The Son of Perdition?

Ultimately, I don’t want her to choose between any of the guys! Trace was my favorite from the beginning, but I think all 3 of them balance her out. And let’s be honest, Gabriel deserves some kind of happiness, the guy is far too hard on himself and needs to be thrown a bone! He is always putting Jemma’s needs and wants before anything else.

Can’t wait for book 8!

This series is not for everyone. That being said, I love it! Jemma, can be super frustrating, especially early on in the series but she has evolved some, so it is easier to get over some of her issues. With that being said, she is a teenager, so we all know what teens are like and what it is like to be one. She has been through A LOT, so behaviors can be excused or at the very least, understood. This series has some things I don't usually like in a book, love triangles and such but for some reason it doesn't bother me here, unlike other books. It is just such a cool universe and I like most of the characters. It draws you in, so that overlooking things that would usually bug you is easy, well for me. The cliffhangers are strong with this author! 🤣😂 I don't mind. Cannot wait to read the next installment!

Fantastic

Just finished book 7, and my goodness what a cliffhanger. Ok so this series really is freaking fantastic. Jenna, Trace, Dominic, and even Gabriel are characters like I’ve never read before. The story, the ups and downs, twists and turns. The depth and thought she has put into these people makes them feel exactly that, like real live people. Yes there is a bit of spelling n grammar errors..who cares! This series more then makes up for any of that. I cannot wait for the next book. I’ve read it’s possibly the last book. I can’t wait to see what happens but I will be sad to leave this world and say good bye to these characters. I pray she writes more in this world in the future. Thank you Bianca for an absolutely wonderful wild ride. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished.

This series is just getting worse as it continues. Don't think I even care to find out what happens in the final book! This book gave no answers or closure to anything! Didn't say anything more about the spawn that Nikki is carrying other than she's due any day now. Don't see how gabriel can just continue to be at Gemma's side. Does not say anything more about trace or just goes from he's mad at her to him in a state of unconscious. The info that Dominic had about her dad is just confusing. The whole Jacqueline and Dominic beating her to bring out her other powers is just put in and seemed to have no rhyme or reason. This series should have ended 2 books ago. I could not get into the book in Kindle, I opted for audible and could not wait for it to end! I actually skipped to the end to put myself out of misery.

‘Mind blowing!!!!!

I didn’t write a review on the other books, but all of them are Fantastic!!!! I read the first 6 books in a matter of a week and was excited for the 7 book. At the time it was supposed to be released on the 1st of September and the date kept changing talk about being frustrated but it was worth the wait only to finish the book and 3 days 😂😂😂 now I don’t have anything to read 😭😭, but anyway let me get back to the book I loved it but was also frustrated with it at the same time having to walk away to give my mind and heart a break 😂😂… I can’t wait until the next one

A guilty pleasure for sure. I will indeed be finishing this series but.. I had so much frustration with Gemma in this book. She exhibited a lot of selfishness and I can understand a bit given the circumstances; but my heart hurt due to what she put some of the people in her life through. Aka Gabriel. I think that if there wasn’t that “Alt” twist in the end I would have been really upset about the decision regarding Trace but .. it gave me a small bit of peace of mind. Lots of information was revealed this book and im curious to see how it’s resolved. Her internal dialogue is still quite annoying, but I keep forgetting she’s literally in high school lmao

The only reason I read this book was to find out about what happened to Nikki and her spawn.
Conclusion.
Jemma shat on everybody that she called friends because she was in love with both Dominic and Trace. Oh so selfish, jemma. Jemma needed to break the bloodbond with Dominic, and she thought only Gabriel would be right as he's revenant. Only Gabrial has never taken human blood before and had already caused bloodlust.
Dominic started feeling emotions again.
Trace had to die to become a revenant.
Jemma got wings, but nothing to finalise nikkis story. This book was written a few years back, and the 8th book either was out for a while( as it says pre-order) but can't find it.

On Pins & Needles For the Next One!!

One of my favorite series, every book has been deliciously nerve wracking!! I love it! The anticipation, the unknown, the wonder! Paranormal Romance is my favorite genre & this fits the bill to a tee! It is a cliffhanger, most series are. And don't get me wrong, I usually don't mind cliffhangers, however, this one is kinda huge. I mean big. Her other books aren't like this & I don't really care for an action scene to be stopped mid-scene & the very next words are "to be continued". So now I'm waiting impatiently for the next book!!
