Felix North was framed for murder but has a shot at freedom...
Hunting an elusive, legendary ship that has devastated Commonwealth forces...
But what he finds is worse than anyone had imagined, and might spell the end for humanity.

Felix North was one of the Commonwealth's best soldiers until he was framed for murder. He is given a chance to win his freedom on a near suicidal mission, though nothing is what it seems. Allocated a call sign he hates, and with a crew of misfits, Felix ends up facing the vanguard of a mass invasion.

Nobody expects them to survive and become the first line of defense against a galactic onslaught. But enemies and friends alike have been underestimating Felix. And he has revenge in mind if he beats the impossible odds.

Military Si Fi at it's finest

wearmouth spins an exciting tale of a man done wrong. Hts command of English and sparse style keeps the action moving while the plot twists and turns. I loved his crew, as a mix of unusual aliens!

Unconventional but very good

I found this one by accident so glad I did it's a real page-turner, lots of action plenty of violence with more than a little humor, think James Bond in space with the bad guys being aliens. Wrongfully imprisoned in a high-tech facility on the moon our hero is released on the provision that he finds out why the military probes and ships are disappearing when they approach an inconsequential planet. All is not as it seems there's a traitor in the top brass, a ghost warship is being blamed and he's been set up to fail, plots within plots great characters, and world-building, I couldn't put this one down highly recommend one to enjoy, Baz.

This is a solid 3.5 stars, but 4 stars for the sheer fun of the book. The story is a bit over-the-top, but the tongue in cheek wasn't overpowering. I liked the main character and his sidekicks, and I was glad that he was successful in his mission. I would recommend this book for anybody that was a fun, fast, action story.

First in the series

Too campy and formulaic, just a long short story with smartass for a hero, with to good to be true luck. The "cutting edge prototype" over 30 years old, and the most incredible luck of the hero. Just way to expected.

This is a very enjoyable book to read. Lots of humor and great action. I liked the collection of characters. It reminded me of the crew from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Lovable scoundrel saves the day

I always enjoy a story where the bad guys get what's coming to them. This reads like a Western in space.
