Halloween Horrors

Rate this book
A mysteriously disappeared grandmother, an odd innkeeper, a trip of a lifetime that goes horribly wrong, a strange little old lady offering cookies and milk, and a child’s imaginary friend that may not be entirely imaginary are just some of the scares you can find within these pages.

Halloween Horrors is a gripping collection of 31 spine-chilling stories and accompanying full-color illustrations, one for each day in October that will terrify you to your very core.

These are no ordinary tales of terror. There’s no gore or contrived violence. These stories delve deep into human nature, drawing out your worst fears and written in a way that makes them feel unsettlingly real.

It all started with a challenge….

Halloween Horrors actually happened by accident. Two friends, one a writer, and the other an artist, decided to challenge themselves and each other by coming up with 31 unique scary stories and illustrations for the month of October, giving themselves just one day to complete each one. Once they were posted on social media, the stories and illustrations took on a life of their own. They were so loved that the author and artist were urged to turn them into a book.

What readers had to say about Halloween Horrors:

“Both the story and the illustration give me chills! It’s so terrifying! Truly triggered upon reading the end of the story….”

“This one really got to me...it’s one of my greatest fears….”

“This is truly brilliant! Both the story and the illustration. Well done, ladies!”

“You’re so f*cking talented!”

“Loved the twist at the end!”

“This illustration is on another level. Woah.”

“This story made me anxious!”

“Very very very scary!”

“Great storytelling and fantastic illustrations!”

“I might not be sleeping tonight!”

“It’s fabulously terrifying!”

“Just thrilling and dreamy and goosebumps rising….”

“This is literally my worst nightmare”

“This one will stay in my mind for a long time!!! Amazing!!!”

If you love a good scare, “Halloween Horrors” belongs on your bookshelf. It’s a collection of frightening tales unlike any other.
Featuring behind the scenes descriptions of what inspired each story and illustration, along with a foreword by the great Mary Shelley, author of “Frankenstein,” “Halloween Horrors” will horrify and delight you all at once.

Your turn...do you dare…?

Halloween Horrors is a collection of scary stories accompanied by illustrations, which beautifully capture the essence of each tale. Pacing and character development are flawless; an art in itself when writing flash fiction.

A gripping compilation of both contemporary and classic horror stories, Halloween Horrors features everything your thrill-seeking heart desires; treacherous friends, creepy kids, employees from hell, haunted phones, perilous poems, tender ghosts, claustrophobic woods, sentient gargoyles, scheming vampires, and numerous ways you definitely don’t want to die.

The backstories following each tale and artwork provide an interesting glimpse into the creative process and the inspiration behind each piece.

Even Mary Shelley herself returned from the spirit realm to preface this anthology.

Overall, Halloween Horrors is a lovingly crafted book, perfect for anyone who enjoys huddling under a cozy blanket on a fall evening and having the bejesus scared out of them.

What started as a challenge on Instagram ended… in a book!! And I couldn’t be happier about it! LOVED Piper’s and Jennifer‘s Halloween challenge on Instagram last year, them posting a whole new story and whole new artwork, based on the story each and every day in October, and me (not so patiently) waiting to see the new artwork by Piper and new story by Jennifer every day and they never disappointed.
Such a courageous challenge and they absolutely nailed it!

So I was absolutely thrilled when I saw that they’ve decided to turn it into a book! And I didn’t needed to think twice whether or not I should buy it. And again I wasn’t disappointed! A beautiful book, with the spooky stories and dreamy artworks from the challenge, also with backstories and a foreword by Mary Shelley! Just loved to read the backstories to every story and artwork, the read their thoughts and what made them write that particular story or make that particular artwork, just amazing. Great quality and absolutely perfect for the spooky season!
Thank you guys!

I really enjoyed this book! I had lots of favourite stories the ones that stick out are The Inn because it reminded me of psycho (1960), I liked the last story because it was based off my favourite Halloween movie Halloween (1978). Oh and the one about the spiders crawling on ppl at night really freaked me out because I’m terrified of spiders and it’s my biggest fear. I loved the drawlings as well so good!

This book certainly didn't disappoint! I greatly enjoyed the stories and the illustrations, and getting a foreword from Mary Shelly, the legendary author of Frankenstein, was fantastically clever. This book is a terrific gift to all horror stories lovers.
