What the hell was I thinking? Getting involved with a woman was a bad idea. But Kenzi Horton had my attention from the day I met her. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Her spit-fire personality drew me in from day one, and there was no way I could pull back and get the hell away from her.
My life was too complicated to bring another person inside. If Kenzi found out who Axel Layton Riley really was, she would run for the hills. The shit storm I left behind was about to hit. I thought for sure I buried that life for good. Boy, was I wrong! Finding out that the man you’re dating blew up buildings for a living isn’t exactly a hot topic of conversation. “Oh, yeah, Kenzi. Did I happen to mention that I blow up buildings."

Kenzi has lots of questions Axe can't or won't answer. When Levi comes back into her life, secrets are revealed, but not all of them. Still with unanswered questions, Kenzi asks the wrong person, which causes trouble for her. I enjoyed the suspense, twists and turns. I couldn't put the book down.

If you like intrigue, suspense, kidnapping and other games of ill intent, you will want to read this series. This book will end on a cliffhanger and it appears that there are four books to end this series. Be prepared. Good news is that these books are already available or will be soon.
Axel Layton Riley had a tough childhood living with an ill mother and drunken father who was also abusive. The boy desired escape above anything. Enter his assumed salvation, Sgt. Van Wilkerson, Army recruitment soldier. What does the Sergeant mean, “When you decide you have had enough of the military life, I’ll be in touch”? The reader will soon find out once we move into present day from the eye-opening prologue.
Axel knows better than to fall for a woman in his “line of work” but he’s captivated by Kenzi Horton. They both are hiding something from the other but one of them has a bigger and more dangerous secret than the other. Other characters will give you pause as well. I simply cannot wait to dig into “Burn” to see what happens. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens.

Kenzi and Axe are very much in love with each other, but they keep many secrets between them.
Kenzi hasn't told Axe that she's thinking of moving out bc a job opportunity , nor about her past, like how she killed a man to protect her ex.
Axe also hasn't told Kenzi about his relationship with Wilkerson, the man who recruited him at 17 and for whom he's been doing a series of jobs he knows Kenzi wouldn't agree with.
When Kenzi is kidnapped Axe goes crazy looking for her, and despite all the resources at his disposal he always seems to be one step behind her.
What will happen to Kenzi and Axe? Will Levi be a problem for them? And River, the mysterious man who appears at the end of the book?

I really struggled with this one. One the one hand the author has a great descriptive writing style but the storyline felt stilted, missing important key elements to engage me and a lot of it seemed irrelevant to the story line. At the half way point in I didn’t feel like I knew, liked or even cared about the characters.
Lack of character development and references to ‘the society’ without any further context was frustrating. (Maybe all or more will be revealed in the next book but there needed to be enough of to make me want to buy the next one)
Things got interesting in the last 50 pages or so as the cliff hanger was set up but unfortunately I don’t think it was enough for me to want to read the next one.

Fire is book 1 in the Sinful Desires series and is my first read by this author. It ends in a cliffhanger but is beautifully set up for book 2. This is Axe and Kenzie's story and these two take us on quite a ride. I believe they love each other completely and fiercely but the secrets are tearing them apart. These characters are written in such a way that you feel a part of their journey as you travel their path with them. I was thoroughly engaged with every single page from start to finish and I can't wait to get to book 2.

Book 1 in Long's Sinful Desires. A well written, captivating romance that will pull you in and won't let go and with this cliff hanger of an ending will have you begging for more! Our main characters are Kenzi and Axe who are very much in love but oh, the secrets we keep. Long writes in a way that we're inserted into the lives of these characters and the list questions that need answers just keep growing. I can't even wait for book 2 in hopes that all our answers will be had!

I received this book for free for an honest review. First I want to say I did really enjoy this story. I like the premise. I did have issues with the structure. I found it dragged a little bit in places. I feel both Kenzi and Axe could be developed a bit more. I'm sure this will happen in further books but this one was a bit superficial. I'm not sure how I feel about the River storyline but we shall see in upcoming books. Over all it is a good story and I enjoyed it a lot. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series. I like that it has the link to Reyna and Davian as well.

This is the first part in this series, yes - it ends on a cliffhanger. Meet Axel Layton Riley and Kenzi Horton. These two characters bring alot to this loaded story. Each of them has past that brings complications into the present for each of them and for them as a future couple. I was intrigued by the characters, hooked on the suspenseful storyline and the left wanting more at the end. I look forward to seeing how things unfold. Enjoy!.

The chemistry between Kenzi and Axe is electric and they are brilliant together but when their pasts come back to haunt them can they survive.

Long style, this book is full of suspense and intrigue and as the story starts to unfold, we find there are many secrets and past traumas both Axe and Kenzi are hiding from each other. These two are passionate souls who always find time for the fire in their relationship, but will that and the love they share be enough for them to survive? We’ll have to wait for Book 2! ~Angie❤️

I have never read an A.L Long book I didn't thoroughly enjoy.
In this story lovers Axe and Kenzie have many secrets they are keeping from each other.
If they had been honest from the beginning they may not have ended up in the situation they are now in.
Excellent storyline that keeps you completely enthralled. I can't wait to see what happens to this pair in the next instalment.

Fire by A. L. long is the first book in the Sinful Desires series. It is the story of Axe and Kenzi. Whew!!! What a mind-boggle!! These two have off-the-charts chemistry….and tons of secrets!!! Both have their own secrets….and these secrets put them both in danger….especially Kenzi….since she has no idea who Axe really is…

Fire is the first book in the Sinful Desires series which features Axe, who has served in the military, and Kenzie, who has just passed the bar exam. Both characters are passionately in love with other, but they each have riveting secrets which have not been revealed to each other. This book has well developed characters, a suspenseful storyline with danger, and great writing.

This story runs rampant with the lies and deceit. That was the draw for me. I loved the turbulent relationship based on these lies because it increased the level of drama and my emotions became involved as well. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.

Book #1 of the Sinful Desires series is an awesome read. I really enjoyed Kenzi’s and Axe’s story. I was fully invested in the story. There is a lot of action, drama, steam, intrigue, secrets, lies, and deceit. It does end in a cliffhanger. *this was a complimentary copy and this is my honest review*

Wow! This story has a couple POVs so you know what each is thinking. The two main characters have secrets from each other and then the other characters have secrets that will connect to the main characters.

This was so good. It pulled me in and never let me go. He has a past that has caught up with him while she is keeping secrets too. I really hope it works for them. I hope he finds her and is honest with her about everything. I love how this ended. I can't wait to read the next book.

I rooted for these two but now I'm not so sure, they both have secrets from one another and it's those and the connection to them that could rip them apart and even get one of them killed
