A local councillor’s daughter is missing, as well as several hundred thousand pounds of council funds.
But who’s responsible?
It’s up to Nick Shannon to find out.
He’s set up his own investigation business specialising in corruption and fraud. And what better way to start his new venture than with a missing person’s case.
Her father is certain she’s been abducted, but Nick isn’t so sure. He suspects that if he can trace the money, he will find her.
Paul Bennett was born in London and educated at Alleyn's school in Dulwark. He studied Economics at Exeter University and spent seven years in advertising. When he left advertising, he set up a market research agency whuch he sold in 1986. He has now semi-retired in order to pursue writing. Bennett lives in a converted barn in Essex with his wife and two daughters.
After working for the fraud squad, Nick Shannon is now working for himself, investigating fraud. A local councillor has hired him to look for his daughter who went missing the same time as council funds disappeared and some people are convinced she stole the money. As with all the books in this series, I do get a bit confused with the plot, but I still enjoy the stories. Nick has a great sense of humour which I like. With the help of his friends once again Nick saves the day.
