Malice was a broken man. A leader with a cracked crown.

Guilt was eroding his throne.

William was an opportunist. A man with a grudge.

Ambition dressed in an iron suit.

Anthony was a survivor. A lover with hope.

Healing wrapped in good intentions.

I’m a pawn, and it’s up to me to remind these men that they’re stronger together.

I just pray that this fight for power won’t tear us all apart.

Whatever I expected in this final installment of the Malice Mafia trilogy, this wasn’t it; it was so much more! It was soul-crushing, it was full-circle growth, it was unexpectedly sweet and funny, it was violent, it was sexy, it was raw. In short, it was everything!

“No matter what happens, we will be here for you, Juliet. I picked up my pieces so that I could help you pick up yours, okay? You aren’t alone.”

The conclusion to the Malice Mafia series, Grudge, had so many curveballs that I’m not even sure I'm done processing let alone able to string together sentences coherently.

There’s nonstop action and well-paced character growth, not to mention Anthony’s signature humor which elicit laugh-out-loud moments! This installment focused far more on growth and resolution than smex, but there were still hot-as-hell scenes. Much like I said with the other two books in the series, I loved it. All of it and I’m sad to say goodbye to the Civellas.

📣 Grudge is the final book in the Malice Mafia series and must be read in order.

This third and final book in the Malice Mafia trilogy was everything. I had no idea how Coralee was going to spin this, but dude - brilliant! My darkness loving heart devoured this.
After the first two books that were more on the deranged side, we see so many different layers to these dynamic characters in this read. Almost dare I say... Tender. I know, I know.
Emotional for sure. It will twist your heart strings and you'll love every second.

We see Juliet struggle so much, but we also get the pleasure of watching her rise above it. To grow stronger and braver. To come into her own even more with the help of three dark, deadly, but deliciously hot Civella brothers. This book put them all in a different light. We see them also struggle at different times to find their place in this unconventional relationship. Juliet has come to the conclusion that her wants and needs are JUST as important as the guys. For once, they just might be playing by her rules.

Anthony I think stole the show for me! OMG! He was a breath of fresh air - despite him being the one who could take it away in a second if he wanted to! He would do anything for his Juliet. He had me giggling so much. His one liners were a treat.
Nick... sigh. I loved him as well. What he did and would continue to for his girl. Even when he wasn't actively helping - he really was, in the background, just waiting for the time to be needed... but anyone.
William, William, Willaim - you silly, silly man. Pride could very well be what would finally end him. I get it, but then I don't. Thankfully by the end of the book I was 99.9% on the William train lol.

I'm a little sad to see this crazy mafia world come to end, BUT this conclusion was perfect.

Oh my dark, dark heart- I am not ready to say goodbye to this depraved batch of ruthless weirdos. But alas, here we are. I have loved this enchanting, yet disturbing trilogy of savagely sweet and sweetly savage love, and Coralee June gives these captivating, broken characters the ending they deserve. That they need. Grudge is an unexpectedly tender finale, the most emotionally rich and emotive of the trilogy. And I’m left with a full heart and undying love for the Malice crew.

Narratively, Grudge has a very different approach than the prior two books in the series. Malice was also trope subversion, an edgy dark seduction. And Wrath was an action packed character deconstruction packaged in a macabre red herring of a villain. At the center has always been the complicated, unexpected, and ever evolving dynamics of this unusual reverse harem romance, as well as the individuals’ own self-actualizing journeys. But our prior books have also been packed with entertaining action, sadistic villains, mafia intrigue, and twists that result in gruesome murders. But Wrath is blissfully and cleverly stripped down. Which is exactly what these characters need. The external forces have enabled them to delay facing their own demons and waffle on confronting the toxicity of their relationships with one another. Now with no gleefully ludicrous foe to face or endless bodies to bury, this Malice mafia crew must face the hardest enemy of all: themselves. The story is shorter, more focused, and certainly more emotively meta. Cora still brings a chaotic and dark tone, still gives us a breakneck speed, but this is a story about feeling, a story that is more existential and cerebral than the rest of the trilogy. The malice mafia crew have to now face the aftermath of all that has happened, and all that they have done, and what a better backdrop to highlight the complex and turbulent tensions between them than by forcing them to explore it in relative normalcy. The result is more focused, more intimate, more affecting. It’s the least dark, and the least violent, but somehow the most haunting.

Ironic really that a series that is infamous for a gruesome curling iron murder or its finger munching villain ends in this place. One that is sentimental in places, stripped down and raw in others. One that feels tender and loving. But isn’t that the very essence of Coralee June? This is an author that doesn’t just break rules, she joyfully deconstructs them. From the start, the Malice Mafia world has been trope defying and expectation subverting. So of course this finale would be nothing that we expect, yet somehow the closure these characters (and we as readers) want and need. With a narrative stripped down, Cora lets these characters, and their challenges, breathe. Fester. Boil. She’s subverted trope, she subverted foe, and now this finale subverts character. The once powerless and lost Juliet finds her autonomy and purpose amidst some of her most heartbreaking obstacles yet. Her unstable, fragile partner becomes her rock. Her invincible, controlling alpha becomes her vulnerable and supportive partner. And her insecure and selfish protector does her the most harm, but also finds security in sacrifice. And her narcissistic, Judas of a friend becomes a comfort and light. All evolve and reshape themselves, not only because they learn how to be the right partner for Juliet, but also because over the course of the series each has confronted their own demons and flaws. Each finds reasons to be better, not just for Juliet, but for themselves. For their family.

Because truly from the start this trilogy has really been a brilliant and poignant an emotional character study masquerading all sneaky underneath the flashy mafia intrigue, panty melting steam, comedic antics, and memorable macabre murders. The life’s blood of Malice Mafia comes down to emotional growth and acceptance. The character evolution of four broken, lost, and baggage laden individuals whose connection with one another forces them to face their long buried pains, to unpack their flaws, and to resolve the gangrene wounds between them. In some cases this means changing and evolving, in some cases making sacrifices and hard choices about priorities and values, and in others is about embracing or accepting the parts of themselves that haven’t been given oxygen for far too long. They started united by a family legacy, mutual enemies, and the universality of trauma- but now all they have is their love and an uncertain future. Over the course of the series Cora has systematically challenged and broken these characters, and now the question is if they have the strength and resolve to rebuild themselves. Can these characters learn to operate from love and compassion rather than malice, wrath, or a grudge? Can the most broken heal? Can they survive the consequences of their choices?

Of course, it’s Coralee June, so we still have some unexpected twists, dark humor, and loads of steam, but it’s the heart that shines the brightest in this finale. How four disparate, toxic parts learn to be whole and healing together. I’d have loved to spend even more time reveling in their absolution and their resolution when it all comes together in the end, but get so much closure to so many questions. And, if anything that’s an indication of the arduous but meaningful journey it has been for these dynamic and rich characters. The road has been paved with more than dead bodies- and this finale showcases that. Heartbreak, devastation, and the consequences of real mistakes all catalyze this finale. Cora evokes such raw emotions (what is this water leaking out my eyes?!) that it’s no wonder I cherish every page I can get, but in this finale, every page is packed with an emotive fervor- the kind that only Coralee June can write. A fervor that brings a lightness to this finale, a hopeful darkness to hold onto.

What an ending to the Civella Trilogy 🖤

Full of pain, heartache, compassion, surprises, death, violence, kidnapping, acceptance and Love ❤️

Juliet - she is something special - so strong and forgiving. The journey she goes on in Grudge makes her stronger and more sure of herself. She has some big surprises but she fights and becomes even more special because of her resilience 🖤

Nick continued to surprise me and made me fall deeper for him - he really is the whole package!

Anthony - just wow that transformation in Wrath was life changing and he is his best, cheeky, loveable self

William - well not gonna lie - I started to hate him! His actions were at times questionable. But that ending was perfect for them.

Another amazing read to bring the Civella men to their knees 🖤

1.5⭐

"We are her boyfriends. Nick here is the angry, murderous psychopath. William is a rich, protective fuckboy. And I’m the lovable comedic relief with experience burying bodies.”

It physically pains me to announce that this whole trilogy had ONE scene of the three brothers fucking her.
ONE SINGLE scene.

And one scene of two of them playing with her.

I wished Anthony, Juliet and Nicholas killed William and lived happily ever after in their throuple.

Godddd William is literally good for nothing why is he in this relationship dynamic i literally do not understand.

The only thing good coming out of this trilogy was ANTHONY.

Do you know why Anthony is the best?
We had buried so many bodies here that I lost count. And if it came to it, I'd join them in the ground if it meant making her feel better. I would do anything for this woman
That's love.
The only man who loved this woman truly was Anthony and by the end i saw a little of that love in Nicholas.

Ok, so lots of things I liked in this ones, some I didn't. I liked how not everyone was onboard with the sharing and struggled with it. I like how the relationship between the siblings was not an easy one, the power imbalance between them being reflected in their strained relationships with each other. I liked the character growth for each of them. The angst was a little high in this one. Overall, this whole trilogy was an enjoyable read.

I know this is the last book but man I still don’t like William. I mean that ending was hot but I wanted more. More of them all happy together, more about David, more of their future. There’s a lot going on in this book but most of my favourite parts involved Anthony. I love that weirdo. I also love Nick. These two guys are my favourites for sure. I really liked the book but I wish there was more, I’m hoping we get a novella!

If there’s one piece of information I can give you, please be mindful of the trigger warnings and description of this book. This is dark, dirty, and not for the faint of heart.

Every feeling you have is part of you. If you feel numb, that's just a symptom of being you. Even when you don’t feel like yourself, you’re still Juliet Cross. And who you are is a loving, wonderful, kind young woman. Don’t you ever forget that.

Was I ready to say “goodbye” to this series? No. But I couldn’t NOT read this book to put off the inevitable. This book/series is yet another example that I love stabby stabby men when I shouldn’t! But the undying love that Nick, Anthony, and William have for Juliet does all kinds of things to my heart. The bond between Anthony and Juliet was special from the beginning, there’s no denying that. And although Anthony wedged himself into my soul, the love between Nick and Juliet that grows and evolves through the books is my favorite! Malice is no more. (Just thinking about that makes me smile and my heart flutter.) But William…oh William. I’ve always struggled with him. From the beginning, he loved Juliet in such a destructive way. It wasn’t the love she deserved. And this book was proof of that. Because of William’s selfish decisions, Nick and Anthony are left to clean up the mess he makes of Juliet. They love, protect, cherish, prioritize, and shield her in every way they can, every way she deserves. They need Juliet just as much as Juliet needs them. In true Anthony, Nick (and William) fashion, they show their love for Juliet in hopes of healing her, each other. But at the end of it all, they’re a family. And nothing can tear them apart.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “I’m proof that lost things can be found. Broken people can be put back together.”
• “Whatever you need, I will give you.”
• “We’re better together.”
• “I just want you to be mine.”
• “Your damage doesn’t define my love for you.”
• “Shhh, show me.”
• “I picked up my pieces so that I could help you pick up yours.”
• “Use me up, babe. Every last drop.”
• “Show him what happens when you mess with family.”
• “Let’s make that legal.”
• “This is the part where I tell you I can’t fathom spending a single second without you.”
• “You look beautiful when you’re spent like that.”

7/10 Dark Romance
9/10 Dirty Birdy
7/10 Mafia Romance
8/10 Reverse Harem
9/10 Series

Good enough to f!ck you hard in the back seat of Anthony’s car while he drives us to go look at f!cking cemeteries, the demented f!ckwit.

I have no idea why I am feeling this pressure in my chest or why my eyes are wet as I turn the last page of Grudge by Coralee June. It is a dark reverse harem and mafia romance. It is supposed to be twisted and deviant and bone chilling. But here comes Coralee June making me cry for the Civella men and their queen Juliet. Here comes Coralee June gutting me with her intense writing and filling my heart with all consuming feels. Here comes Coralee June making me break for these imperfect and raw characters and become obsessed with their epic love story.

Malice was the story of Nick "Malice" civella who ran their empire with bloodied ruthless fists who realised Juliet is more important than any power.
Wrath was the story of Anthony Civella who put his crazy pieces together for Juliet. Now it's turn of William. He is not ready to share Juliet and he thinks by taking over the empire, he will own her heart. But Juliet's life is getting ravaged by one grief after another. And she needs all her men.

Grudge is everything you have come to expect from Malice mafia. Violent. Explosive. Gore and passion going hand by hand. But this was also the most emotional of the three books. Juliet had to go to a lot of emotional pain and my heart was breaking for her. She has emerged as an even stronger and more fierce woman in this story. And to be honest, I was getting angry with William. He is blinded by his incessant need to prove himself to be better than Nick at ruling and to be more stable than Anthony to take care of Juliet. He hurt Juliet and well he did his redemption too. Nick surprised me. He is still my favourite. This dangerous, controlling, merciless man was ready to leave everything for Juliet. He showed William how he actually protected his brothers from becoming the demon. And Anthony is my sweet psycho killer. He made me( and Juliet) laugh at most deadly and dark moments. They all had to process the complex emotions. Grief. Guilt. Anger. Hate. Love. And don't forget the filthy steamy moments! I will miss them so much. If you have not started this series yet, you are missing something special.

Honestly don’t wanna say goodbye to my precious playful psychopath Anthony and my crazy controlling caring Nick but I guess I have too 😭😭😭.

This is really the end huh 😭😭.

Man what a ride what an absolute rollercoaster I tell you.

The amount of emotions I get slammed with from this series gave me whiplash after whiplash.

I laughed, frowned, clutched my heart in pain/sadness, argued at my phone, blushed and questioned my sanity so many times it was crazy 😭😭.

But I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. The growth in the characters especially Anthony and Nick, absolutely amazing. Anthony calmed and swallowed down his demons, refusing to let them control him again which was soooo soooo amazing. The strength it took to do that I cannot even fathom😭. And Nick, swallowed his pride and let up a lot of control. They did these things for love.

Love practically helped and healed them.

I- just. My words cannot express.

So thank you so much for this series I loved it.

My beautiful chaotic darkness 🖤

This was the best ending for this series. They intricate way that Coralee brought forth each of their personalities so perfectly. And wove it in such an amazingly dynamic and addictive way just shows how great a writer she is. I loved every single second of this book. From the very first page of the very first book to the last page of this one, Coralee takes you on a deliciously dark and depraved journey that will have you gasping and desperate for more.

You get to see each of the guys and the progression that they’ve gone through since the first book. They are still the same guys we’ve come to know but also different in the best ways. You could really feel each one of them and how distinct they are from each other, but also how well they mesh together. They each bring something utterly different but absolutely necessary to the dynamic. And honestly, I can’t imagine one without the other. They each give Juliet something unique but no less than the others, they changed for her and the life they want to build.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about a brother’s RH story, but I never should have doubted Coralee and her ability to pull you into any story and captivating you until the very end. Each of these men, is special bringing a new and exciting layer to the story. It’s not only about their love of Juliet but also the bonds of family and how not everything is as it seems. I fell in love with the Civella brothers and am sad that it’s over. Anthony with his sense of humor that always leaves you laughing, Nick with his darkness and possessive need to keep everyone safe, and William with his soft side and his ability to nurture I mean what more could you want.

Original review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Coralee June!

Grudge is the third and final book in the Malice Mafia series and continues the story of Juliet, Anthony, Nick and William.

I’m so sad that Grudge is already the last book in Malice Mafia series. I really enjoyed reading this series and getting to know our main characters better. The Malice Mafia series is a dark and twisted Romance series with broken characters and an interesting story. I’m so happy that I discovered Coralee June’s books in 2020. She’s such an amazing author and Grudge was such an amazing book!

Grudge isn’t your average Dark Romance, it’s so much more. This book deals with a death of a family member, an absent mother, family issues, … I think that these topics made Grudge (and the other books in the series) so much more interesting and realistic. I do have to admit that the death of a certain family member really messed with me. I was sobbing while reading those parts… Those moments in books always hurt so much because I lost two family members who meant so much to me.

Grudge was such a well-written Romance read, and I didn’t expect anything else from Coralee June. This book was so good and addictive, I read this book in one sitting. Coralee June has this way of writing books that you need to finish as soon as you can. You want to know what’s going to happen to the characters and how the book is going to end. I’m so glad that I picked up the Malice Mafia books and I really loved the ending of this series!

So…dark romance blah blah blah

I’m not sure why…but the scene with Vicky has been particularly disturbing for me.
I’ve read so much dark shit over the years that truly not much phases me.
But for some reason, the way in which Norman kills Vicky has been playing on my mind a little. Sheesh.
That was…particularly fucking brutal.

Anyway. Just…a heads up I guess?

Like I say, I’m really not triggered by anything, and I won’t say that this has “triggered” me but it is kind of sitting in my mind a little.
So, do with that what you will.
I guess it was original?

This book/ series is dark. It’s a good solid “tar” on my darkness scale.

The characters are broken. Especially Anthony.
William…I wanted to shank him multiple times. He’s such a soft cock for so much of the series. Good lord. What a whiny bitch.
Nick was brilliant. Him and Anthony were my favorites. Their internal dialogue was one of the best things about this series in my opinion.
They are both unhinged. Anthony is legit off his rocker.

They all have an incredibly interesting arc through the series which is what I enjoy reading about.

Okay I had a hard time rating this one.🥲

So i loved getting to see more Anthony & Nick in this one. They really changed for the better! Anthony was so fucking good to Juliet & the way he made sure to always be there for her. Like he really understood her on just a different level than the other guys. I love him so much. Nick surprised me in this one omg. I wasn’t expecting him to embrace the changes he was facing so well. I loved that he found a way to relinquish control of Juliet’s life but was still able to sneakily provide the appropriate protection for her. Both him & Anthony had some serious character development & i absolutely LOVED it.

However…I can not stand William. He is as a whiny bitch threw this whole trilogy. He was just mad that he couldn’t get his way & he was constantly creating problems that weren’t even there. It was infuriating. The bestest parts of this book where when he wasn’t mentioned or involved😭 William had no real reason or excuse for his behavior towards Juliet threw out this trilogy.

But i’m glad Juliet put him in his place. i just wish he wasn’t part of the harem.💀

overall though i really did enjoy this book/trilogy.

Grudge (Malice Mafia #3) by Coralee June is William's story. Vicki is dead and everyone is handling it in their own way. William is still determined to prove his worth by ousting Nick aka Malice out as the head of the organization.  Anthony has finally gotten a hold of his actions towards Juliet and his mind is a lot more normal. He is still crazy, just a funny crazy and not the homicidal crazy he use to be. Poor Juliet is trying to find her way in this mess of a life of hers. She is still trying to reconcile her feelings about Vicky, her death and the things she did to not only Juliet but her brothers. Eventhough it is William's story everyone had something going on. An emotional story that had it highs and lows and twist and turns. Of course the sex was off the rails and so was Anthony. He was a laugh riot but sweet as he can be. William was still struggling with his demons, insecurities and his feelings sharing Juliet with his brothers.  But the biggest surprise was Nick. He just rose to the occasion like the baller he is. A really good ending to this series.  This author has done it again. A 4 star read for me.

A perfect ending to this trilogy.
I fell in love with the Civella men the second I first read about them.

The plot was amazing, so many twist I feel.
I wasn't expecting certain things to happen, My favorite part of this whole trilogy was the character development between all the characters. Especially Anthony. He's so different from the first in the series(Malice)

You wont be disappointed with this ending and the last spicy scene in this book... WITH ALL OF THEM!!! ouuuff. I need a cold shower. wow.

I teared up a few times during the book, I finished it in one sitting. I couldn't wait for a paperback so I read it on my kindle. but wow, if you've been reading this trilogy. don't forget about this one.

like I said, perfect ending of to the trilogy.
I loved this happy ending for Juliet, Anthony, Nick & William!

Oh wow Coralee!! This read was one rollercoaster ride!! I enjoyed every minute of it.

Those brothers are sure trying to change for our Juliet. Nick, Anthony and William are trying to do what they can for her. For what she needs. Even if it is all three of them. But what if one does not to follow with what everyone else wants? And what if he decides to make the decision for everyone else?

Guys I promise that this is an amazing series that will have you on edge of your seat wondering what was going to happen next. Will Julia and her guys get their happily ever after?

Definitely read and find out!!

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

This is the final installment we have been waiting for. I wasn't sure where exactly the story would take us with this one but she manages to really wrap things up quite nicely. It is an emotional journey to the very end giving the reader all the feels that they have been looking for. Makes for quite the riveting read. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
