Meet Cute #3

It Was All the Daisy's Fault

Rate this book
Writing is Scarlett's destiny, her purpose in life. If she could finish her novel. She just keeps getting interrupted by all the people in need—and animals and trees and flowers.

Like Cole. He splats face-first before her feet like it was fate. Kismet. A sign. He is just the inspiration she needed for her book. Tall, dark hair, glittering eyes. A surgeon sporting a super-hot, disapproving stern face. Surely, a smile lived inside him somewhere.

But Cole has no plans to get involved with anyone. Certainly not a sassy, hippie who thinks flowers have feelings. Still, somehow he keeps tripping into her, even when he tries his hardest to stay away.

That incredible urge to back her up against a wall and do things to her? That chemistry couldn’t be real. It just couldn’t be.

A meet cute, opposites attract, can’t-help-yourself sexy romantic comedy

When has Elizabeth SaFleur ever disappointed me? I say never.

Because this latest release just proved that she can do no wrong.

Scarlett is our little Mary Poppins but instead of being a child whisperer, she's more known for being an animals and daisies whisperer. Who's basically got it all - amazing friends, a books she's about to finish, and of course her endless love for her animals and daisies.

Meanwhile Cole - could be considered like Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd - even though two different fields - since Cole's a heart surgeon, and well Shepherd was a neurosurgeon. But he also is the saviour of hearts, though can't say much for his own, and is avoiding his own past issues as he homes into a small town of Moorsville.

Of course sparks don't fly when they first meet, but curiosity begins. And soon more outings, more..interesting..hehe..conversations happen, and then eventually sparks fly, alongside with the help of the MCs's friends.

But drama ensues as well..but you know E.S - she never lets a good ending get ruined by all that. And then a HEA for everybody! *pops champagne*

Point is - I definitely enjoyed being in Cole and Scarlett's world, despite them literally being complete opposites. And them battling their own demons..because hey some people are idiots for harping on trouble on my poor lovebirds.

Regardless, I delighted in Elizabeth's writing as always, the romance, steam, plot, chemistry and just the characters in general -and getting some interesting info in regards to heart surgery - how cool is that?

And yes now I have officially developed a taste even moreso for classical music and daisies okay..cause...ya know..just read the book alright?

Anyway until the next fun read by Elizabeth (god I cannot wait).

Till then - Me being half alive.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love Elizabeth SaFleur's brand of humor as she can make me giggle like a little girl with the Meet Cute series, and this book was no exception. See, Scarlett marches to the beat of her own drum, and she honestly makes no apologies for it nor does she care what other people think of her. I didn't understand her hippy ways, but I absolutely respected her for her security in herself & her life. She comes face to face with Cole, an uptight surgeon, and she knows immediately that he's going to be her inspiration for her latest book despite the fact that he won't play ball at first. See, Cole can't get away from her quickly enough as he doesn't understand her either, however, there's a pull there that he can't explain, and it will become undeniable despite his best efforts to the contrary so the delightfully humorous & sexy journey begins to entertain us all. It Was All the Daisy's Fault was a page turner that gave me a big smile throughout & long after I finished, and let's face it, in this time in history, we all need this in our lives so just hit those one click buttons now! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is the third book in the series. They can be read as standalone books. This book does tie in with Elizabeth’s book The Sassy Nanny Dilemma. Scarlett is the sister to the Heroine is the other book. Cole is friends with the Hero in the other book as well. Scarlett and Cole meet at the hospital. The pair do not hit it off well. But Scarlett thinks he would be perfect inspiration for her book. If only she can get him to answer some questions for her. Cole wants nothing to do with Scarlett’s questions. He is just trying to start over and be left alone. Scarlett and Cole strike a deal when Cole’s patient leaves the hospital before he should. Cole will answer some questions if Scarlett will help with his patient. The more Cole talks to Scarlett the more interested in her he becomes, despite how different they are. Can Cole overcome his issues in order to be with her? Or will he let those issues drive a wedge between them? This book was a great read. I laughed so much. I love Scarlett. She is great for Cole. She shows him a different way to live. That it doesn’t all have to be about his work as a doctor. And that he isn’t his father. This book has fantastic characters and story line. I have read the second book in this series, but not the first. I loved this one as much as the second. I have the other book on my TBR list. Elizabeth is a fantastic author. I look forward to reading more books by her in the future.

What a fabulous, breathtaking, make you feel good all over, story! The characters are perfection, refreshing, and utter perfection. This book is part of a series by one of my favorite authors. It’s unlike her other stories, and I loved everything about it. Scarlett is a free spirit, who loves herself and if someone doesn’t like her, who cares? Many find her “out there” but I found her completely charming and likeable. I actually wish I could be more like her. She’s confident, yet wants what any woman wants. A happy life with a partner who loves her for herself.

In walks Cole, a new doctor in town who throws her off her axis. He’s handsome and cool and confident. He’s amazing at his job and doesn’t know what to make of Scarlett. She’s unlike any woman he’s met before, and he’s intrigued. Can two people from different backgrounds and views ever make a go of a relationship? In my opinion, these two are perfectly imperfect for each other.

I loved so much about their story. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with both of them. Their chemistry is sizzling and their banter is unlike any I’ve read. If you are looking for a story that has it all, then Scarlett and Cole’s story is for you!! Just brilliant!

It Was All The Daisy’s Fault
By Elizabeth SaFleur

I loved this book! Scarlett has always intrigued me, and I was excited to see that she has her own story!

“A beat of silence between them lengthened. He could stop this now. Just say good night and end this call. But he didn’t. He went on to describe more. The soft sounds she’d make.”

Scarlett grew up surrounded by rumours about her family and their life. Deciding that she was better than those rumours, Scarlett decided to live her life just being herself. She experienced things as she saw them, with an open heart and open mind. Meeting Cole, an aspiring heart surgeon, triggered Scarlett’s love for writing, but learning so much good about someone, only makes your heart fall faster. When Cole meets Scarlett, he cannot get away from her faster. But the more they talked and the more he listened, he saw someone that the people in their small town didn’t. Cole learned more about himself just by being with Scarlett. But when insecurities rise, can Scarlett and Cole overcome what’s holding them back?

“Lost to him. She sent one final thank you to the beach gods and goddesses for letting her have that moment. Even when it ended, she’d remember him as one of the best men she’d ever encountered.”

Bravo to Elizabeth for It Was All The Daisy’s Fault. This book was so entertaining and full of all the feels. Reconnecting with past characters is great, but seeing deeper into Scarlett’s story is the selling point, especially if you have read the previous books in this series! The main characters groove so well together, making this love story a win!

“One look into his blue eyes, and she’d cave. Be willing to settle for just bits and pieces of him—or worse, start to filter herself. She was done with scraps—and she hadn’t even realized that was what she’d settled for in the past.”

Opposites attract in this romantic comedy in this addition to the Meet Cute series.

Scarlett meets Cole when she brings her brother flowers in the hospital. Cole is his doctor and he is a stickler for rules and flowers are not allowed. Scarlett is attracted to him and wants to use him as inspiration for her latest male character but he is resistant to the request but he does eventually allow three opportunities to gather information that will help write her character.

I loved how different these two characters are but that they complement each other perfectly. They enhance the best bits of the other and bring out bits that have been buried. Scarlett is a free spirit. She is comfortable in the knowledge of who she is and confident in herself. She has no self-doubt at all and doesn't care what those around her think. She is bright, caring, loving and funny. She is rescues off-cuts of flowers to bring people joy.

Cole, on the other hand, is in control, a stickler for rules, focussed and reserved. He cares what people think about him and has been judged all his life, expected to live up to the standards set by his father. He has been all work and no play. He doesn't know what to think about Scarlett when he meets her for the first time but she helps him be looser with himself and more free to be himself and a carbon copy of his father.

Reading this brightened up my day. It was like warm sunshine wrapping you up and making you smile. It was joyful and just fun.

It Was All The Daisy’s Fault is the third book in Elizabeth SaFleur’s Meet Cute series, and I think it was my favorite so far.

Cole is a Heart surgeon who gets more than he bargained for when he started treating his new patient, Finding himself as the muse for the free spirited, witty and quirky Author Scarlet’s next novel.

Scarlet has no boundaries when it comes to her line of questioning, which leaves Cole slightly frustrated with her curiosity. Cole comes across as uptight and confident little patience for Scarlet’s level of intrigue and tries to avoid her, but fate intervenes and they keep meeting up.

Scarlet has a vulnerability about her that she tries to keep hidden, but also has the ability to draw qualities out in people. After they both appear in the same places at the same time, they both recognise that they like who they are around each other and start to open up. They soon realise they have both suffered hurt caused by previous relationships and the grief caused by the loss of loved ones.

I really enjoyed this opposites attract book, it is a lighthearted read, the characters are lovable, funny and the chemistry between them is tangible. They are perfect for each other. It’s fast paced so it felt like I read the story quickly, but more the fact you are engrossed in the world of Cole and Scarlet!

A perfect summers day read!

It Was All the Daisy's Fault just made me happy while reading it. I smiled and chuckled throughout the story as I read. How can you not love a character who thinks flowers have feelings, has two way conversations with animals with names like Beano, Cluck-Cluck or Witty Kitty or apologizes to a food before eating it? I thought that Scarlett's sister Addy may be one of the quirkiest characters I've ever read but I think Scarlett ranks right up there and possibly surpasses Addy. Scarlett has no filters. She puts it all out there; good, bad and indifferent and makes no excuses for who she is. More often than not the results are delightfully funny. What a gem!

Walking away from his life in the big city and his family was a self-preservation move for Cole Stevens. He's reserved, by the book and seemingly dispassionate so becoming the inspiration for a romance novel character, so never in a million years would that be on his bucket list. But he never saw whirlwind Scarlett coming. The more he's around her the more he finds things about her he's likes and the more he likes who he is becoming. Unfortunately his past shows up and threatens to derail his future with Scarlett if he can't get her to listen to his apology and all the reasons for his behavior.

This is part of the Meet Cute series. I really enjoyed this book. This book had me at a grumpy hero and a sunshiny heroine. These two may be opposites on paper, but they fit each other like puzzle pieces. Scarlett may not be everyone's cup of tea and truthfully the snobs who say things don't know the big kind heart she has. She's someone with a beautiful spirit that sees the goodness in everything. She reminds me a bit of my brother with how she feels the animals talking and the plants. Cole's backstory so makes me root for him to find some happiness. The choice to relocate to this small town will turn out to be the best decision he's made. It leads him on the path for a perfect meet cute with Scarlett. I loved watching the light he lost return with Scarlett in his orbit. It just made my heart happy. Don't let straight laced rule follow Dr. Cole fool you that man knows of to dirty talk that's for sure. Scarlett and Cole have undeniable chemistry that burns bright. I would recommend this highly entertaining make you feel good story!

Cole is a control freak heart surgeon. Scarlett is more like a hippie want to be author. When she decides that he is going to be the inspiration for the hero in her book, he wants to get out of dodge.
Opinion
I think this is by far my favorite in the series. There is something about the mix of these two characters that just called to me. Add in that the (fictional) setting is somewhere close to where I live and I became vested quickly. (I loved reading about my area and especially the Blumethal.)
This book, and series, is a great beach read. There is also a tie in to The Sassy Nanny Dilemna so if you read a lot on vacation, here are four great books to enjoy. If you only have time for one, no worries. Even though this is a series, I believe they can be read as stand alones. There is a bit of overlap but not too much that you will be confused.
Many thanks to Bare Naked Words for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I am loving this series more and more with each and every book. It Was All The Daisy’s Fault is the next book in the series revolving around Addy’s sister Scarlett, and woman who makes no apologies for any part of herself and Cole, a heart surgeon looking to make his own path in his life. These two seem like complete opposites but in reality they are more alike than they realize and to watch them go through the discovery of finding each other is one that is fun, full of laughs, self-discovering, and oh so sweet. Scarlett is a character that I love from the very beginning, a woman who knows who she is and loves every part herself. She is strong and stands up for herself and finds that Cole is her perfect match even if it takes a moment for him to realize this. Elizabeth SaFleur keeps giving us wonderful books in this series and I can’t wait for the next read.

This was an amusing, fast paced story in Elizabeth SaFleur’s “Meet Cute” Series. It is about two very likable people – Scarlett, a free spirit who is trying to write a romantic novel, talks to animals and plants and is a happy soul – and Cole, a heart surgeon who has come to her small town to establish himself away from his family and previous life, and is uptight and restrained. They meet, and meet again, and as the story develops, they begin to see the good in one another, even though they are very different people. How it all develops, and turns into a pretty passionate affair, is fun to read and goes very quickly. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a warm and cosy hug of a book. It's a small-town romcom. Miss Sunshine meets Mr. Grumpy. If you have read Elizabeth's meet cute series before, then you'll be familiar with the eccentric, bright and bubbly breath of fresh air that is Scarlett Bloom. I adore her so much and was thrilled when it was revealed that she'd get her very own book. In It Was All The Daisy's Fault, Scarlett meets uptight heart surgeon, Dr. Cole Stevens who becomes the perfect love inspiration for the steamy novel that Scarlett is writing. Cole warily agrees to do a few interviews with her, purely book research of course, except Scarlett is soon starring in her own hot romance novel. A fantastic read, perfect for these hot Summer nights! Definitely a top Summer read in my book!

It Was All The Daisy's Fault is book three in Elizabeth SaFleur's Meet Cute series. These books have been funny, touching, sexy, and great opposites attract stories. You must check them out because Elizabeth SaFleur does a meet-cute so well.

The 260 pages of It Was All The Daisy's Fault kept me spellbound from start to finish, and I loved that we got Scarlett's story. She was so loveable in The Sassy Nanny Delima and so wonderfully quirky compared to Cole's uptight personality. Scarlett sees him as a leading man from first sight. Cole, however, finds Scarlett to be unusual. Their journey to love and forever made my heart sing. It Was All The Daisy's Fault was my favorite story so far, and I give it five stars.

I've enjoyed all the books in the Meet Cute Series and it was great to see all the couples play their part in the romantic journey of Scarlett and Cole. I found It Was All The Daisy's fault to be more complex than it appears at first. Yes, there are witty, funny scenes as well as seriously hot and steamy ones. But there were others that made me angry and sad on Scarlett's behalf. She is not just a quirky, I-am-what-I-am woman. She is also a very vulnerable one. And while Cole is confident, successful, caring and sexy, he too has his demons to fight. A story that will make you smile and warm your heart.

Sometimes I just want to read a story that's not really heavy with drama, tons of emotion and angst and Ms. SaFleur's latest story is just that. I loved Scarlett. She's so fun to read. Cole is a surgeon and always seems to be serious but meeting up with Scarlett has him thinking differently about a few things. This whole story made me smile almost the entire time while I was reading it! Cole and Scarlett are perfect for each other and it was fun watching the relationship develop between them. Loved seeing characters from the previous stories in this series. If you need a feel good book, then this is the one you're looking for!

Another quirky read in this delightful series. Scarlett is an avid writer, not published though, and she will do anything to get insight into her characters. She' latched onto Dr. Cole Stevens, he's a challenge and she loves challenges. She's a free spirt and he is Mr. Up Tight. Challenge accepted. Cole thinks Scarlett is flighty, and all over the place, but she's slowly growing on him. She's a flower, not a fungus and definitely part of the circus, and as he said, he was going to visit the circus tomorrow! Loved the beach house and the opera and especially the name "Sea Phoenix". He definitely needed to do more research!

I loved how Scarlett is true to herself and meeting Cole finally inspires her hero in her book which unfortunately means for Cole that she has lots of questions for him. There are so many laughs to be had as well as a few uncomfortable moments when both Scarlett and Cole not only have to deal with their family legacies as well as how people see them. While they appear to be too opposite to each other they are in fact perfect if only they can both move on from what they are scared of. I also really want to read Scarlett's book!!!.

On the surface, Cole and Scarlett should be filed under “polar opposites”. And yet, even though their approaches to life are so very different, many of the things that have shaped them into the people they are today, are pretty similar. Of course, that also means that they have some of the same blind spots about relationships and other people. I had a lot of fun with these two; watching as Scarlett got Cole to loosen up his tight control just a bit and as he got her to believe that sometimes “Happy Ever After” isn’t only a book ending. I seriously wish this wasn’t the end of the series, but at least I can go back and read all about Scarlett’s sister’s story.

A wonderful comedic success by Elizabeth SaFluer. Scarlett is an awesome character. She is free and fun loving. She talks to plants and animals and says exactly what is on her mind. Cole is a heart surgeon who is strait laced and serious. He is looking for a new start in his life. The author does a great job of bringing the two characters together and plotting the development of their relationship. It is page turning and exciting as they flirt and banter. Seeing them falling love is like watching a flower bloom and reach for the sunshine.

This is another fun, lighthearted romance. Scarlett is a quirky author, or as Cole would say a sassy hippie. Cole is a surgeon who starts out as a stern person without much humor. But of how things change as the tornado that is Scarlett worms her way under Cole's skin. And while Scarlett is very comfortable in her skin, she is also vulnerable which Cole sees very easily. I loved the humor and snark as the relationship between these two developed. There were also some interesting side characters (both human and animal).

Ms. SaFleur absolutely excels at this type of story - it is “chick lit” but so much more. The characters are well developed with enough flaws and idiosyncrasies to make them interesting and the town is populated by a wonderful array of quirky and loveable characters. The romance was sweet with a heavy dose of heat and the drama was kept to a minimum with just enough to move the story along. I highly recommend this series!.

I am so happy Scarlet got her own story, she is quirky, funny, caring, sweet, lovable and the complete opposite of Cole. Cole is so serious and a real workaholic but he is also captivated by Scarlet. Their journey is not without problems but it is so charming and their friends are all rooting for them what could go wrong? This is a lovely, heartwarming story and a great addition to the series.

It Was All the Daisy’s Fault is the third book in the Meet Cute Series. This is Scarlett Bloom and Dr. Cole Stevens’ story. This is a “cute” series! An enjoyable Rom-Com to say the least! I love that Scarlett is a Daisy Whisperer! BTW perfect last name for Scarlett, Bloom….

This book left me with Feel Good Vibes! I keep wanting to call Scarlett, Daisy! Haha!

Thank you Elizabeth SaFleur for this feel good book! I loved it.

She is a bit eccentric and he is a straight laced heart surgeon. They meet when he is treating her friend Walker and they make a deal. She will let him know about and watch over his patient and he will help her with her book. They don’t plan on more but do they have a chance at a future when they are so different?.

One of the funniest and cutest RomComs I’ve ever read!! This steamy, opposites-attract contemporary romance is fast-paced and engaging. The book is well written, with exceptional dialogue and witty banter among the characters. Cole and Scarlett are likable and relatable, and readers will fall in love with them. It Was All The Daisy's Fault is rom-com gold. I can’t stop smiling! Happy reading everyone

Exactly what the hot doctor ordered!
Scarlett is adorable, hilarious, and full of spunkiness. She is the exact yin to Cole's yang, all tied up in a flowy boho package. Cole is way too serious, too stern, and too sexy for his own good in that white coat and striking baby blues. Their back and forth romance will have you bouncing in your seat hoping for the best and fanning your face at the same time. An exceptional summer read!
