And then Daddy Dearest enters stage left.

So, I met my father. I beat the crap out of him, but I haven’t killed him yet. Yet being the operative word. I still haven’t made up my mind about that. I had my to-do list before I broke out of Scorchwood and killing him was a major part of my big kill list. I mean, the man framed me, sent me to prison in Hell, then had a mad warlock experiment on me.

When you’re fate’s little bitch, you kind of have to expect the unexpected. And my father’s big reveal about why he did all those horrible things to me and everyone else was like that movie where that kid sees dead people. I didn’t see if coming.

So, now we are uneasy allies. The fate of two realms is resting on my shoulders. That doesn’t mean I might not still decide to kill him if we manage to pull this off.

Overall I did enjoy this series and this book. However, in some ways it felt a bit lackluster. There was no big showdown and once again the 'enemy' was some mostly unseen character whom we met once or twice. The take down was a bit disappointing and I was really looking forward to the heroine letting her dark side out. This girl loves to kill and dole out justice more than breathing and I kinda loved it as did her men. There was some really fun parts like kinky and flirtatious trees which sounds weird but was really interesting. Really fun series!

Great end to the trilogy.

Had a lot of fun with this trilogy. I loved the characters, and their relationships. The plot wound up satisfactorily, but it’s never exactly what you want. Would have loved to see this as a series as these were characters I didn’t want to say goodbye to.

I could take it or leave it

Series Review
I’m sad that so many books I’ve read recently feel so half-assed. This felt like a very half assed series to me. I could take it or leave it, preferably leave it. I got very bored with every book in this entire series. I skimmed a lot too…I’m sorry, but it was just so dull.

None of the characters felt authentic. The sex scenes were stupid because I didn’t believe in the relationships. Also, MM in reverse harems isn’t something I like. When the men start loving each other as much as they love their woman it makes me feel cheated on her behalf. She never even got to have real sex with the demon because he was always with Roman.

It’s hard for me to point out why this series was so tedious. Maybe because it felt like the characters were all playing pretend. They were either pretending to be all soft and cutsie with each other or they were pretending to be badass and bloodthirsty. For some reason those two aspects didn’t seem to jive.

The bad guys were basic. The weird twist with her dad didn’t fit either. First she’s gonna kill him because he’s evil and next she wants to be bff’s with him and her new stepmom. King was supposed to hate halflings, but he ended up accepting her and opening fae realm to them. Guardian broke the unbreakable law but all the fae accepted that too. Nothing fit and nothing made sense. Even the demon Kings felt soft and docile. That doesn’t fit!

This series was RH with MM relationship and love, contained fae, demons, vampires, and shifters. Urban fantasy.

Bring on the battle

Serafina is pulling threads to find even more waving about needing to be snipped. Learning the truth about Eltian was shocking. The demon betrayal not so much. And the prison itself? Oh, plots within plots. This single focus game just became whack-a-mole on a triple espresso high with a shot of cocaine. Time to break out the torture and pyrotechnics and turn Elemental Batwoman loose.

Spoilers ahead.
A very neat and tidy wrap up. A little too pat, and rather syrupy for our murder happy heroine.
*The very brief glimpse into the fae realm matches nothing we've been told, even by Fergus.
*Eltian's character either was a consumate actor hiding his true nature or pulled a 180 out of nowhere.
*Why would a good king endorse outdated laws that would hurt his people? Isolationism is never good. Killing people for reproducing is heinous.
*Prisons aren't supposed to be for-profit. They're a necessary evil. Rehabilitation is one thing. But prisons that make profits are because they "hire" out prisoners for labor that the prisoners see pennies of but the prison receives profitable contracts for. It's basically a modern slave trade.
*We're told that summonings are fun for demons, then told that they're killed during them- one of the reasons a particular demon is part of the rebellion. If it's so dangerous, why haven't shadow demons been sent out to find out how it's done to prevent it? They've had hundreds of years, thousands even.
*How long do the various races live? Fae are immortal, demons, too. Are vampires? Shifters? Elementals have fae blood. Does it extend their lives past normal human lines? Does living in Hell allow you to live longer? World building has been scant and I'm curious how these races are going to age together.
*It's mentioned several times how pale Roman is but not that he has to avoid sunlight, so why's he pale? Blondes can tan. But his paleness is tied to being a vampire according to the story, but he never has to take precautions before going out in the day.
*For a big secret Fergus sure is put on display a lot.
*For all the time the others gave each other for bonding, Fergus sort of became an afterthought. Skoll was given alone time with her for his wolf. Roman, to strengthen his initial partial bite bond. Amd, he seems more focused on Roman than Serafina this book. As in a few scenes he only has access to her through Roman. Literally, through Roman.
*Who says knitting isn't exciting? Just ask Jamie Lee Curtis how helpful knitting needles are! (Original Halloween reference, for those that haven't seen that classic lol)

I enjoyed the series. I enjoyed her monsters series, too. Even with the dissonance going on. The sarcasm and one liners keep things going when conflicting concepts and editing errors try to drag you out. I will be keeping an eye out for future releases.

This is a weird one. In all, I enjoyed the book. But for some reason, I just have this underlining feeling of just "meh." It wasn't exactly boring, just not great. It was just lacking something.
So, it has love, gore, action, and smut. But the smut and action are lacking that excitement or heat. I'm not sure how I can yawn while reading a 5-person orgy, but I did here. But, don't get me wrong, the book somehow has parts that are great, and that's why I still score it high. The characters are witty, psycho, dark, funny, and sweet. Even with the narrator reading the book. Again, not the best narrator, ok for the one female voice, disappointing for others. At some points, I can't tell who's POV she'd reading. But in over ways, she's good at getting some passionate across. I hate how she makes the MMCs sound... There's no steam in their voices.

Anyway, this RH, paranormal, badass female, all unhinged, witty characters, has a great overall story and characters worth investing in... but their journey and story is just meh....with some great moments and twists that keep it up there in stars. It just could have been better somehow...how...I don't know... I just know I have no book hangover and will likely forget the story, but not all the main characters. Confusing, I know.

This series finale is amazing! I absolutely loved this book and the characters in it! Serafina, Roman, Amducias, Skoll, and Fergus are back and they are getting retribution for the treatment they endured in Scorchwood. It starts with Warden Skinner and continues to the demon Zepar. Meeting her father, Serafina wants to kill him but when she learns everything she was told about him was not true, they begin working together to fix all of the issues. They start by ending the demon rebellion by Zepar and three other Dukes and getting the cure for the Fae's infertility. They must go after the rest of Warden Skinner's coven and in the process, Serafina is hurt. In the end, she gets not only her family of mates, but a family with her father and grandfather. Alls well that ends well and the Fae are even revoking old laws against halflings and opening the portals to the human realm once again.

Sera is introduced to her grandfather. She, the guys, her Dad and Grandfather plan how to capture Zepar.
They get witches to help capture Zepar but he still escapes.
Zepar grabs Sera but because of the drug and he is so not a fighter. Sera knocks him out. She contacts the guys and they bring Zepar to the dungeon.
Sera gets to plan his execution and it is gruesome. But a sniper kills him before she gets to do everything she wanted.
We learn who else joined Zepar's plan to take over Hell. They all are taken care of. One, I was sad for him, he joined because he wanted something changed because his wife was killed because of it and it kept being not taken seriously. So, I was glad they were change that.
We find out why the Warren did what she did, her and her group was taken care of.
Then they lived happily ever afterwards.

This third and final book in the Scorchwood Supernatural Penitentiary Series by JB Trepagnier had a lot of action and adventure in it as Serafina and her reverse harem attempt to find out who was behind the prison problems, who was trying to take over hell, and who was involved with the genetic testing. Of course, she and the vampire, the wolf, the demon, and her guardian had a variety of sexual escapades between some of them and all of them. And, as the author is known for, it was all described in hot juicy and most erotic vivid details. This story was also about trying to discover where Serafina belonged in terms of her fae family with her father and grandfather, as well as her demon family in Hell. It was sad to see the series end. Serafina, a half-human/half-Fae fire elemental, finally meets her father who framed her and got her sent to Scorchwood Supernatural Penitentiary for a crazy warlock to experiment on her! So she beat the crap out of him, but hasn’t killed him yet, although that was on her to-do list. There was a reason he did what he did, so for the moment they are uneasy allies with the fate of two realms depending on Serafina and her guys to figure out the rest of the details, like who was behind the prison problems and trying to take over hell. You won’t want to miss this exciting conclusion that will have you jumping up out of your chair!

One again, lots of things are happening in this book, but the reader will be intrigued and delighted as the author makes it all come alive! Grab your copy and enjoy the final adventure to see how it all works out!

Serafina has meant her father and he tells her the truth behind his involvement. Serafina doesn't kill him, they go back to hell. They inform the others of his involvement and who is behind it. Serafina doesn't know what she wants from her father. She knows that they will have to work with fae to solve this problem. There are several things that going on.
There are so many different layers to this book. It will grab you with the action, the steamy scenes and Serafina coming to terms with everything that has happened to her. I didn't go into to much detail as I don't want to give any spoiler out, recommend reading

Fun series

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

Amazing! Just when I think I have it all figured out, everything changes. I kept expecting different things to happen.

If you have not read the previous books, I would highly suggest that you do. Each one starts where the last one ended. It takes me a small bit to trigger the memory. At least, you can have the opportunity to read them one after another. I envy you that, but know that you will enjoy them all.
I am sorry to see this story end. I really love all the intrigue. There may be good news in the future….like maybe more of Charley, I hope.

This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

What a fantastic ending to a brilliant paranormal reverse harem series, there were so many twists and turns in this amazing book that I am dizzy but it was so captivating and everything fell into a lovely happy ever after. This book follows on from book two and that cliffhanger nicely with more action, adventure, revealed secrets, hot sexy scenes and plenty of humour and romance, it was thrilling to find out how this series progressed, a family that kills together stays together. This author is fantastic, JB Trepagnier has definitely been added to my favourite author list.

JB continues a great series with a dynamic series ending. Serafina, Roman, Amducias, Skoll, and Fergus are back and they are getting payback for the treatment they endured in Scorchwood. They find out that her father isn't the bad guy they thought, and the warden is just the beginning of who they are after. The main culprit behind it all is a lot closer to Hell than expected--it's another Duke of Hell who's plotting to kill all 7 kings & take over Hell.

Non-stop action from page 1. Great characters & world building. This is a definite must read series. Ends with HEA for everyone. Add to your TBR list.

BEST RH SERIES EVER! I’m no stranger to a RH and I must say that this one has it all. Badass heroine 4 hunky lovable guys. And lots of comedic gold. The third book in the series was everything I could hope for in a finale book. The dynamic between all the characters is something I love in a good RH. No maté jealousy truly a RH. I love that we get to see more of what Hell is like and how much the characters can’t wait to start their lives there. I absolutely love Rowan. There’s just something about a loveable psycho that is just irresistible. All the moments of teaching the men about the modern world is just heartwarming. So many moments I caught my self grinning like a loon.

Serafina and her men are back, this time working with a king of Hell and the Fae king and prince, her father and grandfather. They all join forces to take out the warden of Scorchwood and her coven, stop the demon trying to take over Hell, and cure Fae women. Serafina still isn’t sure whether or not she wants to kill her dad, but she’s enjoying getting closer to her mates. I’m sorry to see these characters go but it was a great conclusion to the story. This was very interesting ending to this series. There was some so needed fight and tortures. There was going to the bottom of this all story. There was finding the future and learn to live by your own rules or changing the rules that exist to fit this new world. There was dealing with everyone who was coupable of all atrocities that did happen. It was as well filled with hot sex. This story was really nice and did read easily and with pleasure.

“Risky Business” is the final book in this amazing trilogy. Risky Business is exciting, action-packed, super-hot, dark, and twisted with the best HEA ever! This is the third and final book to this series and I am sad to see Seraphina and all her men go. The author did such a great job bringing the characters to life I found myself rooting them on and getting mad right along with them at parts. The ending of the story was perfect for them I am just sad to say goodbye.

The finale to the series and it didn’t disappoint! We got to see the evil plan finally revealed, who is the master mind and the punishment that dished out Serafina style. Like in the previous books, who needs a guy to save a girl when she can just kick ass herself? Read the killing and dazzling ending to the Scorchwood Supernatural Penitentiary! It won’t disappoint!

I absolutely fell in love all over again with Serafina and her crew. You immediately fall back into the story ad it grips you throughout. I laughed, cried and was on the edge of my seat with everything that happens. I would love to see more set in this world with some of the side characters or just to followup with the characters.
