Life in the shadows might just be the death of them. As Naz and Oliver find themselves on the run in mainland Europe their friendship is put to the test like never before. With vampires on their tail, they are forced to keep a low profile, but when desperate times call for desperate measures they find themselves embroiled in an underground fight ring.
Will their illegal pursuits help them out of a tight spot, or will it bring them unwanted attention?
Meanwhile, Calin and the wolf pack are forced to deal with the fallout from Juliette's betrayal, but where does Calin stand with Polidori and what is the mysterious 'uprising' that is being whispered about in the shadows?
The third instalment of the Dark Creatures Saga is packed with high-octane action and stunning revelations.
I am an author of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Fiction. I'm passionate about my family, reading, writing and cats. The order of which can change on a day to day basis.
Okay, so Naz is growing up a bit. I enjoyed her character far more in this book. This one is fast paced, exciting and easy to read in a day. There's a bit of a love triangle, a lot of fighting and suspense. The end is a bit of a shocker. I expected it but didn't see it coming quite like this. Great series.
Naz is in trouble. Yet again. What’s New? She’s out of the Packs, out of the Country and almost out of friends.
This is the third book in the Dark Creatures Saga, an Urban Fantasy from Ella Stone. This book is set primarily in modern day Europe. There is no romance and no scenes of an adult nature.
I’m really enjoying this series. Ella Stone’s fluent style sets a good pace and the change of scenery in each book so far has kept her world interesting. The story arcs are well thought out and her characters have continued to grow and develop throughout.
In this book, Naz has outdone herself. Her existence and her actions seem to have riled up all supernatural beings. Not only does the Vampire Council want her dead but they’ve effectively destroyed the Werewolf North Pack and recruited the help of the Werewolf South Pack to try and flush her out.
She’s out of the packs, out of the country and on the run, reluctantly helped by her long time friend, Oliver, who it seems is still furious at her for the whole situation. Former vampire lover, Calin, continues to work behind the scenes in London to see what he can do to clear her name with the Council but it looks like the odds are stacked against her. Time is running out, friends are scarce and the Vampire Council is hot on her heels.
We see a lot more of Oliver’s character in this book and I am so happy about it. He appeared in book one but was a very secondary character. His appearance in book two was fleeting. In this book he is a main character and we really get to see what makes him tick, as well as how he feels about his friendship with Naz, who seems to make a habit of throwing his orderly life into absolute chaos.
As ever, there is a nice big, shiny hook at the end of the book which just reels me in and I find myself wanting to read the next one immediately. I can’t wait for the next installment!
I'm honestly enjoying this Werewolf/ Vampire/ Witch series. Although the pace is slower in this 3rd book in the series, I still found it a compelling read. With Naz on the run with Oliver, Calin is doing everything he can to keep Naz safe, whilst trying to discover who is behind the rogue vampires. The narrative goes between Naz, Calin and Oliver, smoothly and efficiently, so one is kept abreast of all the events taking place. I'm so pleased Naz has finally put on her big girl panties and has grown exponentially as the series progresses. Her attitude and behaviour in the prior books are totally in line with her past, her upbringing and her perspective. I loved seeing her growth, her changing attitude and her determination. I thought the storyline was well planned out, everything fitted perfectly. Although, I'm thinking, maybe a three way relationship is on the way? Hmmmm, I'll be very interested to see how that develops! I missed Lou and her verbal diarrhoea and I was glad to see her reappear. And Rey, oh my word Rey! Really? To know what I'm alluding to, you'll have to read it and trust me, you WANT to read this series!
Each book has pulled me in further. This time Oliver and Narissa have to face many challenges pretty much on their own. Oliver does all he can to keep Narissa safe even when she hasn't quit learned to control her temper. With tensions high these two are amazing together and learn about each other. But of course the author throws in a huge suprise toward the end and it was perfect timing. Also a great way to set up the next book. Once again, I'm eagerly starting the next book and I think we are definitely in for some major surprises and twists. Where will all of this lead? I guess we have to just keep reading to get the rest of the answers.
I enjoyed this installment of The Dark Creatures Saga. Naz has grown so much overall since the first book. The relationship between her and Oliver was great to watch develop while they were in hiding. His POV chapters provided great insight and offered up new details in Naz’s earlier life. I am looking forward to the next book to see what happens next.
On the run, Narissa and Oliver find themselves hiding out in Europe. But, when they get to Lithuania, things really change. I loved the turn Narissa took, to see her character grow. Plenty of action and surprises along the way to #4...hurry! I am. * I was given a copy for an honest [always] review *
First, I have to say this book is great. Second, this series is a binge worthy addiction. Third, the characters are incredible and the inner monologue or diatribe as some may call it are hysterical sometimes even when Naz starts acting like a petulant teen. The action and betrayal is full on in this one, so buckle up and get ready.
Naz and Oliver are on the run and focused on surviving. Their personal relationship is something of a powder keg. Freys is dead and Calin has told Oliver he can’t tell Naz. Worried and cash strapped they have to figure out where they can stay safe and how to make money. Will they survive?
This book was just so drawn out. It didn’t need to be four books everything could’ve been summed up in three bucks half of it probably could’ve been summed up in two. The writing is good the stories decent it’s just wordy and takes forever. I honestly don’t know if I’m gonna finish this series.
Wow another great book in this series. Lots of action as Naz and Oliver try to stay one step ahead of those chasing them. Twists and turns with which characters are on what side. A surprise ending leaving me to want the next book.
Naz and Oliver are in hiding on their own, but too soon, Naz gets antsy and then the chaos begins. A lot of action. I was happy to learn more about her past and Oliver, too. The story was slow in parts but just you wait! And the shocking from friends to enemies! Can't wait for book4
Naz and Oliver are on the run and hiding out from the vamps and getting into more trouble, an unexpected surprise at the end, thoroughly enjoying the series so far x
I really enjoyed this instalment. The complexities of being a were wolf and sustaining relationships proves a lot more complex both physically and emotionally.
I loved the character development in this one! The way Naz and Oliver bond was so fun to watch. I know my preferred outcome for the love triangle! Secrets are kept and the mystery increases and we're left wondering what's going to happen in the next installment. The twists and turns kept me intrigued until the end!
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
