Oops I Married a Rock Star: A Small Town Romantic Comedy

Rate this book
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...
Except when you drunk-marry your bandmate’s baby sister...

Devlin
In my defense, I didn’t know Becca was Max’s sister.
The chapel, a case of mistaken identity and a lot of booze messed things up.
As hot and funny as Becca is, I can’t jeopardize the band’s survival.
I’ve got a rep with the ladies, and if I were Max, I wouldn’t want me anywhere near my little sister.
So I offer to dissolve our union quietly, confident that that’s what she wants, too.
But she shoots me down. What the hell’s that about?

Becca
I need a husband for a year to inherit my childhood home and art studio.
I spent three months arranging for the perfect temp marriage.
The mix-up at the chapel was unfortunate, but I don’t have the time or money to set up another fake marriage.
Devlin is gorgeous, sexy and successful.
Everyone will assume we’re the real deal, which is precisely what I need.
We can keep things civilized and agreeable for a year.
How hard could it be?

Oops! I Married a Rock Star is a fun romantic comedy standalone with a hot-as-hell drummer, a face-blind artist, mistaken identity, Batman, a porcupine crotch doll, cows of judgment and more! Need laughter and an HEA? Then read Oops! I Married a Rock Star now!

I normally steer clear of stories that feature manho "heros" but if anyone can make one likable it's Ms. Nadia Lee. She just has a way of making me laugh away my annoyance and make it seem like it's not such a big deal.

It took a while for me to warm up to the hero of this book. He was a pretty massive manho as a result of a former heartbreak. Even though I found his reasons boring, I ended up liking him since he ended up being a pretty good husband to the heroine. I felt like this book could've been longer and included more development for both of the MCs. They both had a lot to offer in terms of interest and the ending definitely felt rushed.

Overall, this isn't a re-read, but it was nice seeing the couple from the previous book. I wonder if everyone in the band is getting their own story. I just hope the other heroes aren't as gross as this hero was. :\

4.5 Stars (rounded up to 5.0)

Oops! I Married a Rock Star is one of those feel-good romances that didn’t start out that way. I’m not fond of “players” as heroes as a general rule, because they’re not usually believable when they fall for the heroine. That’s not the case with Devlin, drummer for the rock group Axelrod, and the hero of this story.

You can’t help but love Devlin after you get past the first couple of chapters, and I don’t blame the heroine, Becca, for falling for him from the get-go. He’s honest, faithful (even to a fake marriage), incredibly intelligent, and…a rock star. Smart enough to have gone to Harvard Medical School, but he chose a different career path than the one his father tried to force him into pursuing.

You also can’t help feeling compassion for Becca, who suffers from a rare condition she doesn’t want Devlin to know about because she doesn’t want him to treat her differently as a result. But withholding information from a loved one is usually fatal to a relationship, and sure enough, it’s almost fatal for Devlin and Becca.

Even though I knew it was coming, Nadia Lee handled the “black moment” beautifully (as always). And the resolution was incredibly sweet without being cloying. Devlin can be my book boyfriend any time…except he’s taken by Becca.

Just as awesome as the first!

This is the second novel about a Rockstar from Axelrod. However, the focus isn't on Axelrod, it's definitely the unique, simply hysterical characters Nadia Lee writes about, one who just happens to be a Rockstar.
I loved every moment!
Devlin and Becca are two amazing characters!
Devlin is not just a Rockstar, he's incredibly intelligent, well read, well spoken, and can play an evil grandmother like his set of drums!
Becca is also an artist, but hers involves paint and canvas, while Becca is a strong woman, she is played by her evil grandmother and wicked cousin. She is somewhat down on her self esteem, her grandmother takes every opportunity to put her down, and wicked cousin, well she's that woman every woman and man has met at some point in their life...
But together, these two are fun, outgoing, a mess, and frankly perfect for one another!
Nadia Lee has written one more outrageously fun romance you will simply enjoy from beginning to end!
I completely adored!

Oops! I Married A Rock Star by Nadia Lee is a great story about what happens in Vegas romance read...especially when your a rockstar. Devlin and Becca's story really grows from their 1st meeting. There's laughs, heat, attraction, chemistry and of course, Feels!! The emotions deepen as the story goes on and the secondary cast of characters are amazing! The HEA was the best and I am looking forward to Max's book- here's hoping he's next!

My Rating: 4.5 stars *********

A fun romance! Well written, light-hearted, with some steamy scenes and a good back story. There's hardly any angst and our hero is pretty much perfect, so not a great deal of conflict. I was expecting something grittier, but it's an entertaining, uncomplicated read.

Swoon….

You know, I love me some Rockstar, and Devlin is one of the good ones. What kind of man had a one night stand and couldn’t get it up for any other woman after that? Yeah, our one woman drummer it is. Becca has a condition though, face recognition deficiency, or something of that nature. Devlin also put the man eater cousin in her place. No time for her shenanigans. So, no drugs, no cheating, and drunken debauchery in this story. Just awesome pure romance. I love it. Oh, and he bought her parents house for her, from the wicked grandmother. Shocker right. Grandmothers are supposed to be wise, nurturing and loving.

It was funny & entertaining. I loved Devlin, but I found it hard to really connect with this book. One half of the book seemed to heap the focus on her disability while she completely ignored it’s existence with Devlin. I just thought it was weird & unhealthy. Plus, I don’t really like reading books about disabilities. I literally read to escape my problems & disabilities, I don’t particularly want to read about them or others. It ruins the escapism.

We are all familiar with the Vegas ‘accidental’ wedding trope, but this is where it ends. Becca Bane, recognised artist and Devlin Marsh, hot drummer of rocker fame are married complete with contracts and timelines. By the way, the contract insisted on ‘full benefits’ of the heated, steamy kind.
Then…[drumroll please] Ms Nadia Lee knocked me with a ‘condition’ that Becca is afflicted with that made me sit up and read with a new eagerness. I have never heard of this before nor seen similar in other romance books. It brings a fresh, thought-provoking change and gave rise to a strong storyline with interesting incidents.
Of course, feelings grow with both Becca and Devlin but romance and relationships are never that simple are they? Add a grandmother that is very vocal in her dissatisfaction with her granddaughter, a vindictive cousin and you have all the angst of family drama – including a disappointed dad.
My heart hurt for Becca, having to ward off barbs – “because they represent something I’ve always longed for-unconditional love, acceptance and support”. This is Ms Lee’s writing at best. Emotional, honest and captivating.
Another not to be missed read, beautifully written that holds its own with five solid stars. Bonus stars for meeting favourite characters from previous books.

This book introduced me to something new. I had never heard of face blindness before. And while I tried really hard to be sympathetic, it was hard to understand how she could look right at people and not know who they are. I can recognize people from the back, from the shoulders down, from the side. It was hard to imagine her looking right at people and having no clue!
It was just okay for me. There wasn't much relationship building. Simply being together so Devlin could get it up. Meh

Maybe some spoilers

Devlin and Becca wake up in bed together in vegas married. He can’t remember anything because he was drunk and she’s acting like it was all planned. He realises she is the women he had a one night stand with a few month before but she dosent seem to recognise him which he finds unbelievable. He’s a rockstar!

She has a condition called something fancy but basically mean face blindness. She can’t make out people features properly. I thought this was a made up thing but I googled it and it’s real. I kinda guessed that this meant she was going to see someone she thought was him with another woman or she was going to do something thinking it was him and he sees.

So she paid someone to marry her for a year so she can get her parents house from her evil grandma. Infact evil dosent cover it. What a bitch! Anyway she tells this guy to wear a Batman T-shirt so she will know who he is and instead meets a very drunk Devlin who happens to be wearing a Batman T-shirt and she marries him.

He storms out the next morning saying they need to get it annulled but she still thinks he’s the guy she paid so dosent understand why he’s mad.

She goes for breakfast with her brother and his band mates where everyone finds out they got married. It all kicks off and her brother gives the big brother speech you know.

He agrees to stay married to her to help her get the house and when he meets the grandma and the cousin Sylvie he is more determined to help. Sylvie is one of the worst characters I have read in a long time. She’s all over Devlin, rubbing herself against him and touching him any chance she gets. He goes to get a drink and she follows and grabs his junk. She asks why he isn’t aroused and he puts her in her place and says he doesn't like vile people and goes back to his wife. The he defends her against the grandma.

Devlin was actually awesome. I hated him in the first book and I really didn’t want to be in his head but once he said he would stick around he was in 100% he went to the grandma to try and butter her up but instead overheard her saying she was selling the house asap so she lied to Becca. He secretly buys the house for her.

Becca was ok but I don’t understand why she never told him about her condition. It causes a lot of problems that could have been sorted quicker if she had just told him. Honestly it was stupid!

Anyway her cousin pays for a guy to go have sex with her and gives this random guy a key to her house and he just lets himself in and starts playing on Devlins drum kit. She thinks it’s Devlin and puts her arms around him and starts kissing him and obvs Dev walks in and sees. Because he know nothing of her condition he thinks she’s cheating and he leaves. Fair enough she should have just told him!

He goes to Killains from the first book who is now married and he sulks at their house for a few days. Becca finds out where he is and goes to him. She explains everything to him and the make up.

She dosent end up moving in the house he bought her and instead she moves to him and where the bands studio is but she is still really happy they now own the house.

I really dislike stories where there’s no communication and if she had just told him the 3rd act break up wouldn’t have happened. Then it skips forward and they have kids which was a bit jarring as it didn’t say epilogue but I guess it was

It was a nice story overall and I was impressed with Dev after hating him in the first book

So hot!!! Loved this couple!

Dealing is the drummer for a famous rock and roll band. He goes to an art gallery with his band in New York City and he really doesn't understand why they had to get dressed in tuxes. He also doesn't care for or understand the artwork. He's had a lady kling to him since he walked in. Now he heads to the restroom to get away from her. He finds a beautiful woman there who is trying to get away from a male admirer. So he punches him and takes her away.

When they get to his hotel he can't keep his hands off of her. She introduces herself as Ms. B. He thinks it's funny but he goes with it. He calls himself Batman because of the t-shirt he's wearing. They have incredible sex several times and in the morning she's gone.

Devlin has issues with other women and doesn't understand it. He's gone weeks since the woman in New York. Now the band is in Vegas and he is shocked when he wakes up in bed with the woman from New York. She has the audacity to say they were married the night before. So he gets mad and leaves her in bed. When he goes to have breakfast with the band he gets surprised when Max says his little sister is joining them.

Devlin is even more shocked when his bandmates sister turns out to be his new supposed wife. Becca is very protected by her older brother Max. In order to get the family home, she has to get married for at least a year. Her horrible grandmother got it after their parents were killed in a car accident. She WON'T let them just outright buy it. She's holding it over their heads for some reason.

Devlin goes along with this sham because he cares for Max but also because sex with Becca is off the charts. What will happen when Devlin learns Becca's secret?

So good! Need more for sure! Enjoy!

Hilarious and swoony

Devlin and Becca are #RelationshipGoals. Both have been screwed over by cheating exes. Devlin is a band mate to Becca’s brother Max, in the band Axelrod. After his girlfriend cheated on him, his response was to go manwh0re. In the first Axelrod book, he’s seen with the Sextet girls from Spain when he attempts to cheer up his band meet Killian. Everyone knows he goes through women like he does oxygen, and his bandmates sister is supposed to be off-limits.

Becca is an artist, and first meets her brothers band mates at a gallery showing of her art. She did not get an official introduction to Devlin however, and meets him on her own. They hook up and have an amazing night, and she sneaks out in the morning. Of note, she was injured in an accident as a child and suffers from facial blindness. She cannot recognize people by their faces.

Becca and Max have a horrible horrible grandmother and cousin. The grandmother is holding their childhood home over Becca’s head, and she leads Becca to believe if she gets married in three months time, Becca will get the home as a one year anniversary gift. What is his next is a case of mistaken identity, and a surprise Vegas wedding. There’s some laughs, some 🔥🔥, some small town humor, and a wicked grandmother and cousin. And in the end, there’s a HEA. Another hit by Nadia!

This has been on my TBR since it was released and I am so glad I finally got to read it. Devlin and Becca's story is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. This is the story of a rock star, a special heroine, an incredible one night stand, and an accidental marriage that lead to forever love.

Devlin is a playboy with zero plans to settle down until he ends up accidentally married to Becca. He doesn't realize at first that all of the feelings he has for Becca are really love, and that was fun to read. Becca is a girl with a plan and a condition that makes that plan difficult to implement. She falls hard and fast for Devlin. I love the way he treats her and the way he makes her feel. I really liked the way the author allows the reader to experience Becca's condition first hand. I cannot imagine how difficult things are for her at times. Devlin turns out to be a sweetie who just needed the right girl for him to settle down and be all in.

There is humor and some very hot heat in this book as they find an incredible HEA. This is one of my favorites from this author.

I really loved Devlin, well I mean all those Axelrod guys have had me fall. This is the second book I've recently read that a character has had prosopagnosia. Face blindness must be so hard to experience. I can't imagine not recognizing a face because that's how associate names of people to their faces. Poor Becca because her grandma is on my do not list. Making Becca feel less than because of something beyond her control. A mistaken identity creates for an intriguing story. Becca finds herself married to a rock star. Not any rock star, but one of her brother's bandmates. I gobbled up this book. Becca and Devlin had me gobbling up the pages. I wanted to see where this story took them. It was a ride I highly enjoyed. Devlin had me swooning at the end. Yeah, he is made out of book boyfriend material though he doesn't start out that way. He's a playboy he loves playing the field, but accidentally ending up married to Becca throws him for a loop. I would recommend this one. It's a book that I easily got lost in!

We are back in the Axelrod universe. This time around it’s all about everyone’s favorite drummer Devlin and Max’s younger sister Becca. We start off the couple waking up hitched in Vegas, but this is where the story detours from the usual results. Our couple has both suffered mutual betrayals from cheating exes. However, as they get to know more about each other they grew closer. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Nadia Lee book without humor and drama. Drama comes in the form of the reappearance of exes and toxic family members. I liked how the author brings more attention to Prosopagnosia (face blindness) by way of our heroine. It is fascinating how Becca can navigate through this especially being an artist. We also have appearances from characters from the previous books. Another thing I appreciated is how readers get to see more of Devlin outside of his Bad Boy Rockstar persona. I won’t spoil it, but I will say Nadia can going add Becca’s Grandmother & Cousin Sylvie to the horrible family member group (New Members Class). Overall, I enjoyed the story. I already know we are in for a roller-coaster ride with our favorite “Bodyguard” Toylan’s story.

Becca planned to marry in Vegas however she didn’t expect the groom to be Devlin but now that they are husband and wife, he will fit the bill as it wasn’t a union of love but a necessity to reclaim what should have been hers all along.

Devin is a successful musician who finds himself married to the sister of his bandmate. He would like to pretend it never happened however she feels differently and that is when the hijinks really begin!

Despite all the challenges that Becca faces it only makes her stronger while Devin is exactly who she needs and their journey is filled with humor and plenty of emotion.

Another fantastic read from Nadia Lee. I can always count on Lee's books to be amazing.

This book troupe is fake relationship, brother's best friend. It was a wake up in Vegas married book. There are many books with this premise, but this one had the Nadia Lee spin.

Becca and Devlin had a one night stand, and it ruined him for other women. With a case of mistaken identity and alcohol, Becca ends up marrying Devlin.

It was a quick solid read. The cameos from Axelrod were thrown in here and there. Even Barron from Lee's other series made a brief cameo in this story. I just love it when authors scatter Easter eggs.

Great second book in the series. I hope there are more coming.

really enjoyed

Ive been surprised when I saw that this book and Killian’s stories weren’t considered a series.
I was hoping to easily see if Max or Coles had their stories out lol. I definitely enjoyed this book for many reasons. Becca definitely had a challenge that is not well known. I had fun actually googling about it all, learning more about something that people actually have. Before this book, I wasn’t sure how much I would love Dev and his own book, but I was so glad to actually be able to hear his thoughts and see how his story went. Will read more from this author :)

Nadia Lee's books always have characters and stories that are entertaining and fun.

Devlin and Becca were great together. They had lots of chemistry and a connection from the beginning. I liked how their relationship developed as they spent more time together. Their road to happily ever after wasn't always smooth and things weren't in the usual order, but everything comes together in the end.

I really enjoyed this quick, sweet, and funny read! I am looking forward to Nadia's next book already.

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

What a fun book! I found myself smiling throughout this story. Devlin and Becca are a riot. Devlin is not quite the devil may rocker he portrays on tv. He is a real Prince Charming. Becca is the perfect mate for him. The fact that she doesn't fawn over him allows his real persona to show. His in your face desire for her allows her to be her real self with him as well and kicks all those insecurities to the curb.

Really enjoyed this story.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

Oops! I Married a Rock Star

This story is about Decline a Rock Star in a very popular Band and Becca an Artist who has a face blind disease. She can't distinguish who a person by their face. She has to look at people in ways that help her know who they are like their voice, how tall they are, the clothes they are wearing, etc. They meet in New York at her Gallery showing. They hook up when she discovers her ex has been cheating on her. They meet again in Vegas and Decline wakes up married to Becca.

Hilarious and steamy

I love Devlin. He made me laugh all throughout the book, especially with his BPS. I also love Becca because she is stronger than she gives herself credit for. Becca has face blindness and because of this, ends up married to the wrong person. She has a mean grandmother and cousin who treat her like a freak. Devlin stands up for her because he admires her. When things go awry due to her condition, loves saves the day. I loved the ending of the book, I just wish it didn't have to end.

Fun read

I enjoyed this read, I mean waking up in Vegas married to a rockstar from her brother's band great start to a love story. Becca is different from a "perfect" heroine, she has face blindness which adds a deeper twist to the story. Devlin has a problem of his own, one night in New York with Ms. Bad and his equipment hasn't been able to stand tall, waking up in Vegas with a mystery wife takes a turn. Great humor, swoon worthy loyalty makes this an engaging read!

It Was Alright

When I give a book 4/5 stars it typically means that I really liked the story/characters and I couldn’t put the book down - Oops I Married A Rock Star just lacked for me. I wasn’t super eager to read it, and the story didn’t captivate me. While I think they Nadia Lee did a good job portraying the main character Becca, I don’t think the same can be said for Devlin. I didn’t love their romance story and didn’t really see why they fell in love to begin with. It felt a bit rushed, but overall the story wasn’t terrible.

wow

Wow, just wow! Becca and Devlin are absolutely amazing together. Becca is so laid-back and down to earth. All she wants is the feeling of love from her family’s home. Devlin has been a man whore for so long because he got hurt in the past. The two of them, bring it out the best in each other. Becca is smart, caring, and loyal. She’s had to put up with a cousin and grandmother from hell. Devlin is smart, And knows how to make things happen. Hope that will be more from this group.

I love everything Nadia Lee writes! She makes me laugh so dang hard! Devlin was so much hotter in his own book than in Killian’s. I wasn’t so sure about him when I started the book but I quickly found out he’s a big strong and of steal teddy bear! Becca’s condition was wildly fascinating to me and I just imagined her with a constant blank RBF! I loved how the two of them brought out the best of each other. They made my heart so happy! I hope we get Max’s book soon!

Nadia never disappoints and this is no exception

My only complaint on this book is that I read it too fast! Loved hearing Devlin (who came off as a complete tool in FWTRSND) and Becca's story and can't wait to see how the rest of the members of Axelrod find their loves (and wouldn't it just be fair play if Tasha and Matt ended up together?) Also, as a longtime fan, it was especially fun to spot the Easter eggs from other books!

Fabulous

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!
After reading Flirting with the Rock Star Next Door (#1 in the series) I couldn't wait to read the next installment, I love all of Nadias books but I think this was 1 of my favourites. It is so refreshing to have a heroine who is slightly less than " perfect" or what the world today associates to be perfect. It was more real and made the character much more relatable. Would highly recommend 10/10

I absolutely loved this book.. Being in a bit of a slump I chose something at random and it didn’t disappoint.. I found myself laughing at ridiculous thought processes of some of the characters, (see the highlighted passage lmao) and loving the sweetness of other.. It was the perfect read for a stressful week and I can’t wait to read the next one. If your looking for a read that’s hot and will make you laugh this one’s it..
