As Gunn and Salvo desperately try to hatch a plan that can slow Grey down, an unexpected — and largely unwelcome — ally comes to their aid. They might hold the key to defeating Grey, but their agenda is their own.
Meanwhile, Dab returns to the lab that first experimented on her mind hoping to find a clue as to what is fueling the Dolus and how to stop their terrifying powers. What she finds will change everything...
Infinite Grey is the latest episode in the Gunn and Salvo sci-fi thriller series, a high-octane rush through the wildest corners of the galaxy!
A good attempt, but it left me with mixed feelings. There were some brilliant moments, but they were overshadowed by a plot that felt too predictable. The writing was solid, yet the characters lacked depth in places. I finished it, but I wasn’t as satisfied as I hoped. It’s enjoyable, but not unforgettable.
This book ranks in the best sci-fi books that I have had the pleasure to read in the past year. It centers on two groups of people who have a common mission in Space following the atrocities committed on Illium. The author, in a masterful way, succeeds in taking the reader, virtually, to where the action takes place and cheering for either the good guys or the bad guys. I personally, always cheer for the good guys. The plot is very well written and is not congested with so many characters so that the reader has to go back and forth to follow the story. In addition, the many twists and turns throughout the story keep the reader on his or her toes, and the revelation, at the end, leads the reader to look forward to the next book to see Gunn's reaction when he discovers this mind-blowing personal revelation. 5 STARS all the way.
Picked this up several months after reading the first four in the series. It was a slow start -- trying to untangle the many secondary characters and overlapping subplots took a while. Fortunately, the story accelerated quickly to an unexpected and dramatic end.
Worth the wait, worth the effort -- this is an above-average series which sustained my interest across books. Good, solid entertainment, although the characters and plot stopped just short of being compelling.
The story itself is good, but the books are starting to follow a similar formula each time. The good guys get knocked back, the good guys come up with a plan, the good guys implement the plan, the plan seems to go well, the bad guys overcome whatever the plan should have achieved, the good guys are almost back to the beginning again It's the age old adage of 2 steps forward 1 step back, but in this case it's 10 forward 9 back The only real saving grace and truly unexpected outcome, is that main characters die. You don't know who will still be alive at the end of each book and this one is no different
This book continues to follow the ups and downs of Gunn, Salvo, Regency, Hypatia and Okoli. As with all good stories there are other storylines running alongside the main one.
It is fast paced and exciting. Just when you think things will turn out alright something hits you from the side that you didn’t expect.
There are more books in the series and I can’t wait to get into reading them.
In book 5 of Gunn and Salvo, Infinite Grey, We see the boys Gunnison and Salvo are about to face some new action and danger with a sprinkling of excitement. And you know what it about to hit the fan, with a twist too. This book proves to be a great exciting to keep you turning page after page. I had to keep going to finish this. Never disappoints with this duo of James and Young!
What a beautifully written piece! The author paints vivid images with their words, making every scene come alive. I felt like I was there, experiencing every moment alongside the characters. The story was heartfelt and touching. It’s one of those rare finds that you want to read again immediately. A gem!
Love Salvo and Gunn and all the other characters that turn up as the story plays out. Read 1 thru 5 as one book, can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
The gang is all back and so is the action, danger, and a few surprises. It was fun to read and to see who showed up and what Gunn and Salvo would have to face and overcome this time. Loved it. Enjoyed seeing if the plan and their ally would work. Glued to the end to watch all the fun.
More action, danger and excitement to keep you gripped once again. A continuation that draws you in forever. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to read another book. Don’t miss out once it’s released.
Wow! I loved INFINITE GREY! It’s chock full of twists and surprises in the midst of truly non-stop action. I liked that there was not as much gruesomeness as in some of the previous volumes while the villains are still monstrous.
I appreciated the effort that went into crafting this story, but it didn’t quite resonate with me. The plot had potential, but the execution was lacking. There were too many side plots that distracted from the main narrative. I enjoyed parts of it, but it wasn’t as cohesive as I’d hoped.
