The Partners aren’t done with the Montford family and there is blood to be spilled…
I’m a monster. I have a darkness that I can’t control and it begs to be let free.
A monster that has sold their soul to the criminal underground. I shouldn’t like the taste of blood. But the power it gives me feeds the malevolence inside me.
A monster that is tasked to kidnap someone. A gorgeous, feisty woman who looks at me without fear in her eyes. Her fight causes a primal feeling inside of me. I know I can’t have her and yet that doesn’t stop me from wanting to defile her.
I’m torn between loyalty and taking her as mine to protect. Both our lives hang in the balance. And now the gun is pointed at me, but I’m not scared to get blood on my hands.
Because I’m a monster. And my darkness is ready to make my captive mine.
**This is book 2 in The Partners series. While they are standalones, it is best they are read in order. This is a dark romance suitable for readers 18+.
Tori Fox is the author of romantic suspense and contemporary romance with a little bit of angst and a whole lot of sexy. When she isn’t writing, you can find her listening to true crime podcasts as she tends to her plants or singing along to Taylor Swift as she drinks champagne. Tori is living her best life in the magic of New Orleans with her dog.
You can find Tori on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
Matías & Alessia OMG straight away you could feel their chemistry off the page. THEN 'The Partners' gave him a assignment which involves Alessa Father...no spoilers
They can stay away from each other even thou he is her hired forced protector but there is pull they can not fight 🥵 That pull they have get very hot and I truely believe she was his salvation. Why is he seeking salvation well you have to read his story to find out! No spoilers but Matías is a damaged anti hero full of grief & gilt. He has loving people around him but he seeks out punishments in the ring...no spoilers
Alessa I love her straight away and she is a artist. Tori did amazing job explaining the way she paints and how she feels when she paints. It was beautiful written and I was a artist myself once upon time and its nice to see it in writing on how it feels to paint & express your dreams. OH and she is not afraid to stand up to her monster. She is the full package
Matías her Monster & Alessa his Angel is a love story that will make you bleed and happy at the same time. They will fight for each other and die for each other
It's was driving my crazy who are 'The Partners' the faceless puppet master that promise him freedom & blood at the same. They are fantastic villian and the suspense killed me!
Love, Action and Suspense what more could you ask for this Christmas 🎄
This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Tori Fox!
Repentance is a standalone book set in The Partners series and tells the story of Alessia and Matias. Although this is the second standalone book in the series, I recommend reading the first book, Atonement.
Repentance was another great read by Tori Fox! I was a big fan of the first book in The Partners series, Atonement, and I was always interested in Matias’ story. I’m so glad that we got his story and that I got to read his happy ending. Repentance was such a well-written and fast-paced read, and I really enjoyed reading about Alessia and Matias.
Alessia is an innocent girl, and Matias is definitely the opposite. But you know what they say, opposites attract. I really liked seeing Alessia and Matias’ relationship grow towards something more. I loved seeing a different side of Matias when he was with Alessia. I also really liked that Alessia’s an artist, I liked how her artistic process was described.
I really liked Alessia and Matias together, and I loved reading some bits about Cam and Bastian, from Repentance. And I’m also really looking forward to the next book in the series, Redemption. I cannot wait to read Kilian’s story! If you’re looking for a good Opposites Attract/Kidnapping Romance, then definitely recommend Repentance!
OH MY EVER LOVIN' HELL! This story made my dark & twisty soul sing for real LOL! Matias believes he has a monster inside of him after all the things he's done because of a debt. And I mean terrible things (I despised him in a previous book) so kudos to Tori Fox for giving us his story because there's definitely more than meets the eye when it comes to him. His newest task has him kidnapping Alessia, as she's a tool to the powers that be. Little did he know that she would shake up his world since she could see past all of the demons so let the games begin. They have heat in spades, the twists are coming in hot with all the shady business of The Partners (the powers that be) with a kicker of darkly delicious things. And since I"m trying to keep this review very vague I need to stop here so y'all can just experience for yourselves after you hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Another great dark and twisty story of the Partners and their power and influence over the Montford Brothers. I was no great fan of Matias after reading Bastian's story. But I also wanted these brothers to be able to heal and mend some bridges. Repentance goes some way to doing that.
Matias is a tortured soul. In his own words, he has a monster within him that he cannot fully repent for. He struggles to accept the actions he has been forced to do. Alessia is a political tool used by The Partners to manipulate both Matias and her family who have been embroiled in the dirty dealings of the powerful & influential Partners.
This is a forced proximity, kidnapping (with good intentions), dark romance that plays with taboos and the darker side of romance. Matias's monster is domineering, dark and delicious and the interplay with Alessia it heated and intense.
Being under the thumb of The Partners to pay off a debt brought out the monster in Matias. He always knew it was only just a matter of time before he met his own death. A rich billionaire who had secrets. His next mission was quite different than any of the others. To kidnap a girl and babysit her. With only a few friends Alessia liked to stay recluse in her apartment to paint. Her way of of letting her problems disappear. One night she decided to go out with her friends. Little did she know what was in store for her in the days to come. A romantic suspense that will keep you intrigued as the layers of the monster are slowly peeled away.
Repentance by Tori Fox is book Two in The Partners series. This is the story of Alessia and Matias. I have read the previous book which did add to my enjoyment of this book. Alessia is somewhat a recluse who just wants to paint but she does go out one night with her friends. This leads her to Matias. Matias is a dark man who feels himself to be a monster. When he is instructed to take Alessia he finds she brings something out in him and she doesn't seem to see the monster that he feels he is. This was a great page turning read. Loving this series and I will be looking for more from this author and series.
HOLY SHIT! Yes, holy shit! This book.... let me tell you, when I read Atonement.. I hated Matias. Like HATED HIM! but I should have freaking known that my best friend would make my ass fall in love with him in Repentance... and that's exactly what happened..
Is that toxic? Hmm.
Anyways, I've never wanted a hot man with a monster inside of him to kidnap me so bad in my life... and that ending!
Repentance releases DECEMBER 9th! Go read it... then email me so we can talk about that damn ending!!!
This series was my first Tori Fox book, and I can honestly say that I'm so glad that I picked these books up. Honestly from the start of the book you are sucked into another world and before you know it, it's dark outside and everyone else is asleep and you're just sitting there reflecting on what you just read. If you never read a Tori Fox book or just looking for something new and exciting you will definitely want to pick these books up.
Now this was what I was expecting after yet another catchy prologue. I had concerns after the first book that we would be misled but that couldn't of been further from the truth. I was riveted from cover to cover and gobsmacked by some of the outcomes. I'm going to leave my review here as both characters and plot have some big surprises in store.
This book is amazing! I love Matias now that I read his story and acted the way he did in Bastian's book!! I love this author's writing! It really pulls you in and doesn't let you go! Thats how it was for me! The characters were wonderful and the story flowed well too. I definitely recommend reading this book and series!
This is the second book in this intriguing series and is Matias and Alessia’s journey. Alessia is being used as a pawn by the Partners to manipulate Matias and her family, while Mattias is a tortured soul who proclaims that he has a monster inside of him, and he struggles to accept the actions which he has been forced to perform, and now he has had to kidnap Alessia. This is a well written story which had me on tenterhooks throughout, and this is a dark, raw, gritty, intriguing, and riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.
