You know, when I first started reading Trapped, I was all the way here for Phoenix getting her revenge against Dante. I mean, he broke my girl’s heart so, she deserved a little get back. Even if it was murder. But, Phoenix probably should've read the fine print on her revenge plot because, she definitely got got. Khalid hoodwinked, bamboozled, and finessed her right on out of her panties and her soul. He had Phoenix so dickmetized, she literally risked it all. They don’t call them the soul snatchers for nothin'. Trapped is a cautionary tale about what happens when you let anger and revenge consume you. This was such a good read and I’m not even mad there was no HEA at the end.

When you start reading this book, please remember the phrase “Expect the unexpected”. This book caught me off guard and literally had me trapped in the pages. Get it? LOL! Due to her boyfriend breaking things off with her around Halloween, Phoenix Brown is a notorious Halloween hater. Being dragged by her bestie to a Halloween party didn’t appeal to her until she gets up and personal with the mysterious and handsome Khalid, who she met earlier. Shae Sanders takes the words finesse and soul snatchers to a whole new level in this paranormal novella. In this novella, you get mystery, suspense, revenge and of course, good sex. But for me this story gives so much more. It makes you think of how anger and bitterness can consume you. It will also remind you that people show us who they are up front , we just sometimes get blinded by their looks, sex and other appealing attributes. Stay focused queens!!! Lol. Overall, I enjoyed this story. I will honestly say that I was expecting endless sex( which is not bad) but Shae came through with a unique Halloween story. I was given an advance copy of this book for an honest review. This book releases tomorrow.

Whew Chile!!! Phoenix wasn’t ready for the immortal peen that was put on her! She spent the past year bitterly torturing herself over the breakup between her and the man she thought she was building forever with. After bumping into Khalid and later seeing him again at a Halloween party she was prepared to end her ex’ Dante’s happiness once and for all at any and cost. She had no idea of the price that she would end up paying! 🤯🤯 Ladies let this be a lesson to let that man go and move on! Being dxckmatized can be deadly🤣🤣😩😩This definitely had me spooked!

Phoenix was still angry after a year that her boyfriend had left her. She struggled to move on because she had been replaced it didn't sit right with her. That is until she "runs" into Khalid and after their initial encounter she can't seem to shake him. The connection she feels for him is intense. Once she finds out he is from down "under" that doesn't scare her at all, in fact it seems to attract her even more. He helps her get revenge on her ex boyfriend and atp I'm like okay girl you pushing it with this. Once Khalid gets what he needs, she realizes she doesn't want to let him go. Even after reading the book about Tricksters and the lengths they go to steal your soul, she didn't take heed at all. Phoenix was so dickmatized that was all she could think about. For an entire year she lived in a fog trying to figure out how to get back to Khalid. It's like ma'am did you read the fine print 🥴😩 Instead of living her life she planned to get Khalid back by any means necessary....and she did just that smh.

This was an actual creepy horror like read. I highly appreciate the erotica element making it easier for a scary cat like me to read. I was totally not expecting this, I had to keep telling myself this is NOT romance. No HEA. But I love the fact that Shae will give you a little bit of everything but her writing voice is clear. I love the versatility. This was kind of like having a black folk’s saying turned into a creepy horror lesson.

When the author's note said this was not a romance she wasn't lying! This was the most intriguing and eerie Halloween book I have read so far, BUT I loved every second of the thriller! There were sooo many details that you had to pay attention to for the end to make sense. It was a spin at the end that I didn't even see coming! Again Shae Sanders can write so well that I was hooked from the first page! All of the erotic scenes were amazing and steamy! I was here for every second of it!! Lastly, there was a quote in the book that stuck out to me about not letting anger consume you. A lesson that I wish the main character Phoenix would've learned sooner! I definitely recommend this read!

I am at a total loss of words, thoughts and feeling after this read! Phoenix gurl..... what do you think you have intuition for huh? You spoke about your gut feelings multiple times, but you did nothing to act on those feelings? You ignored the gut feelings? Never, ever ignore those! Especially on a day that you hate, and in a creepy situation that you found yourself in! Ughhh...... I did feel bad for you...... at first, but then you went and did that dumb ish! I had to laugh at that ending tho'! Damn shame! 😂 Good read! 👍👍👍

This was a super spicy and unsettling revenge retelling of a soul snatcher myth between a woman wronged and the revenge she was willing to take. Oh, and a very handsome stranger with a startling red gleam in his eyes and truly intense erotic energy.
Be careful with those scary books your friends hand you, they might just come loaded with a curse.
I don't know if I liked this? But I read it and it kept me o.O, so definitely a good spooky season read if you want to feel scared and unsettled!

3.5! This definitely wasn’t what I expected when I picked up this book but it was pretty damn good! Trapped tells a story of sex, murder and revenge and who doesn’t love those things? Phoenix despises Halloween because it’s the day her boyfriend broke her heart. She’s consumed by her bitterness, anger and rage, so much so that when a mysterious monster of a man, Khalid, walks into her life offering her a solution. She doesn’t question it, she does what feels good. Unfortunately, sometimes the things that make us feel good are the exact things we don’t need.
Definitely give this book a go if you’re looking for a different type of Halloween erotic read. The concept is definitely a good one and I wouldn’t mind seeing more like it.

Love the cover, the story was meh
I like the idea of a soul snatcher that feeds on our negative energy. I had difficulty with the flow of the story and the characters didn’t really resonate with me. I’m not a fan of novellas for this very reason.

I love-hate this book! There's a particular aspect to it that should get a much louder trigger warning.
Take heed of the warning, this isn't a HEA story.
I want it as a movie!!!
It was eerie. It was funny, especially the dialogue between Phoenix and Khalid. I was rolling when he told nah ma, niggas ain't genies.
The ending!!! Somebody make this into a movie very quickly. Of the 4 books I've read this weekend, this was the best!!!
I want a second book out of this but at the same time, I don't want a second book out of this as it ended perfectly.
The book looses 1 star because of the trigger that should be louder, Dante's eventual story after the event (either I read too fast or there really wasn't a good plausible explanation that made sense that was shared) and also there seemed to be a backstory with the professor.

All the S hits the fan after that door locks! This novella gives us some lore, revenge, steamy times 👀, and definitely teaches that if someone starts referring to themselves in the plural you should run. Well worth the read and yelling 😂

This books truly shows you how men can lie in real life and the afterlife 😂. She sanders is gonna deliver characters everytime no matter how short the book in she draws you in quickly. This was my first time reading a paranormal book with this type of deity so that was fun to read about. But if you're looking for something a little dark, twisted, sexy, and spooky this is your book.
