Book three
Mistakes: I found a few and have listed them on Goodreads.
Plot: I really enjoy this series. There isn't a lot of action, but there is always a lot going on. It's almost like base building but on a grander scale. With enough details to keep your interest.
Characters: The MC cries a lot. I also got the feeling that his ex and one of the sons are just after the mc's money.

4.5 Still going strong, can't wait for the next one

Barbra is definitely the weak link for me in this series. I just don’t gel with her as a character and don’t see how she fits in this story. Her actions speak way louder than her words, and those actions show an entitled, high maintenance woman who is only with Carl for what she can get from him. Okay, she uses her gifts for good, but it doesn’t change the fact that none of her actions feel loving, but rather that they feel transactional.
In such a wholesome series filled with loveable characters, she really stands out.
Other than that, this book delivers much of the same as what we’ve seen before. It’s slice of life wish fulfilment which is highly enjoyable if that’s your cup of tea. It’s just a shame that it looks like the series ends here as I was really enjoying this. With no new books from this author in 4 years (that I can see), another book in this series doesn’t seem likely.
One final minor note, I have no idea what’s happening with the cover, because it has no relation to the story whatsoever.

As the title says this is a review for Kindle Unlimited and as such is a reflection of my enjoyment of the book and in no way reflects cost to value analysis. I hate trying to define my enjoyment and describe facets of it that would appeal to someone else. It is simply not my style. But for the sake of those fishing for clues:
Character development: exceptional
Game elements: minimal
Harem elements: none
Tone: weird, fun take on rpg elements in modern times. I’m not quite Carl’s age but I can definitely relate.

A LitRPG w/o the RPG just isn’t the same
The RPG part of the stories has dropped off considerably after the first book. This one was more about being a businessman than anything else. We don’t even get to see Barbara’s blue boxes as she haunts around gathering DNA.
The chapter were he talks to his son,Ryan, (pp399-401) he calls him Jim, over and over.
The characters are interesting and the story has a lot going on but I missed the early days of gaining skills and using them for fun and profit.

Left Wanting
This series has been an entertaining read, enjoyable mostly because good always triumphs. Unfortunately this book ends leaving doubts as to any future outcome for our protagonists. It’s unclear whether this is the last book or not, but the storyline is not resolved at the end of this book.

Again I really enjoyed this book. The ending was very unfulfilling. If the author does not have a 4th book planned to tie up/end the plot in a upbeat manner I will be very disappointed.

Another excellent book
I've left a review for every one of these books written by this author. that I have read every one of his books are fantastic, I love them all. This one was especially good. I received an email from the author that he had published a new book. The first thing idid was go to Amazon purchase it. and then I spent the past 6 hours reading this book non-stop to the end. the ending is unexpected I will say that I can't wait to see what else he comes up with especially, in this series. and others that he chooses to write I have thought of maybe taking out a small ad, in order to prop up this author. he doesn't want to do ads because he he wants to see if it can travel by word alone and I don't know if he'd like that LOL.
but that's how much I like this author his books are fantastic, every single one is good this one is especially good. and it seems like every single one of them ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, that is resolved in the next book and then sets up another Cliffhanger,. you got to love the style of writing very happy overall I suggested to anyone who likes with rpg playing game game. Gamified and just regular books the Sci-Fi writer is fantastic.

Slow and steady
Not a lot of major conflict with in this book. At least not in the physical since. Plenty of corporate shenanigans as Carl continues to grow his empire rapidly.Of course there are small other factors at play as usual with this authors works there's a lot of interpersonal communication and relationships that need to be explored and handled.There a lot of characters though most of them are colorful somewhat and unique. I enjoyed the series but I wish Carl would work with his blue boxes more. He seems quite naive. I get it that many elderly don't like to learn new stuff and new things like the new phone etc, but I think with him living longer potentially he needs to adjust his mindset slightly. I enjoy the raid it was good and fairly long. I look forward to the next book hopefully it wraps up a bit in some action or intrigue. And hopefully Carl starts to interact with The Nanites more.

There's just something about these books that I enjoy. The writing style is stilted with almost no descriptive prose. The characters, while distinct, are somehow unrealistic... perhaps because we learn their personality immediately, (there's no peeling the onion). Everything happens so rapidly, with little investigation or challenge. And the sense of the value of things, jobs, and effort varies wildly from moment to moment. E.g. We marvel at an electric car window and remote unlocking fob, and then think nothing of a six-figure quarterly bonus.
Despite all of the flaws, the story is absorbing. I feel like a voyeur to the life and times of the luckiest man alive. I'd be surprised if there aren't people that hate this style of fiction, but it draws me in - for inexplicable reasons.

Good Book
I have waiting patiently for Book 3 to come out. There are few typos and one paragraph about his sons gets a little confusing but that doesn't take away for the story. I like to engross myself in the world I'm reading about and I could easily do that with this Book. He made all the right decisions as far as I'm concerned and the characters are all very likeable. I'm not sure about his reaction when women hit on him, I think that's something going on with the author there but Carl and Barbara's love story us timeless. Barbara needs to learn how to use a cellphone lol.

I think this is my favorite one yet. I loved seeing all the different businesses grow, although not without hiccups, and seeing the incorporation of the new businesses. I have to admit, the ending threw me a bit, and I'm wondering how that is going to play out - both for Carl and Barbara, as well as the possible repercussions from the waitress.
Hopefully book 4 will be out soon so Carl's sons can come out to visit (and I can only imagine the scene at Thanksgiving if his ex-wife does come after that phone call), and I definitely want to see how Carl and Barbara deal with the blue box issue. Until then, i just have to be patient...

Infected with nanites, but how long?
The main character continues on his business-buying binge, thanks to the help of the alien technology that has infected him. I was disappointed that the game mechanics from the first book were heavily de-emphasized here - likely because the main character had gotten most of the nanite benefit already. Still, I would have like to see more somehow.
Note: the final couple of chapters had some glaring editing mistakes that should have been caught. And the cover has nothing to do with the book (no aliens visiting earth, yet) and there seemed to be some odd continuity errors.the overall story still hangs together.

Wonderful slice of life
This installment doesn't disappoint, the plot continues from the previous books in the same fashion. The book does end on a fairly large cliffhanger, and I hope the next story arc doesn't veer to far from the laid back story that I like. Last thing to add, there were some editing issues (missing words \ wrong words) the worst is the second time Carl is on the phone with his son Ryan and calls him Jim three times, took me a while to make sure I was reading it right. Still can't wait for more to see how Carl is going to resolve this new issue.

I do like it
But this will not be to everyone’s taste.
Adequate writing, with few grammatical issues. Consistent characters that are well crafted.
A lot of slice-of-life stuff, with no real story arc. MC continues to succeed at nearly everything, and is exceedingly competent to boot.
There are times when minutiae should have been edited out. Yes, if one of them is driving a car they need to maneuver in traffic, but unless it suppository the narrative it shouldn’t be brought to the reader’s attention.
I will likely continue reading.

Great!
This story does a really great job of drawing the reader in. It's like a palette cleanser for litrpgs. One can only read so many so many stories about super op main characters that are the chosen one before they all blend together. This story though is honestly just really wholesome the MC just wants to help people and does it the best way he knows how. I thoroughly enjoy these books and will definitely keep buying them!

I also would like a #4.
I imagine the aliens finding a horrific problem with awakening their people; so they are ‘forced’ to either visit the triple-helix contributor (Carl), or somehow directly interact with him and Barbara.
The result of the meeting is re-starting the DNA program with Carl negotiating a more favorable result for himself and Barbara if they succeed in the goal of ‘solving’ the problem.
In other words….I WANT BOOK 4, 5, 6 ETC !!!!

Well, I read the series for the second time and I think I actually enjoyed it more! You deal with the good things that could come from the script of the books and that is a very positive way in today's negative world and it is refreshing. Now just have to wait till you get #4 out and see how the characters deal with those challenges.........Respectfully, and Old Vet from TEXAS

Fabulous enjoyable book
Excellent fiction, edited and proofed. Really enjoyed the storyline of nanites creating an overpowered main character.

WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FOXTROT!!
This book is great, it's only failing is there isn't more book! All of that aside the ending was both satisfying and an absolute curveball that I love but also hate. F you and take my money Sir!!!

I selected the highest rating because the three books were excellent. The biggest drawback is the need for a better proofreader. Wish that the series had a fourth book.

And we have our first real issue.
The entire nanite angle is ignored and the few times it comes up it is irrelevant. The day to day is still good, but every effort to crowbar in an overall story does not work. Also, the entire relationship subplot is pretty broken.

Funtastic Story
This story of a old man getting nanos,healing, and enhanced senses in exchange for collecting DNA samples was Outstanding.
Not a fan of Indian givers, but I’m sure it will be glorious bloody deaths for all.

Unusually good read
Really enjoyable read about 2nd chances. In both life & love with a sci-fi twist. Highly recommend it to anyone a uniquely enjoyable read.
