Best one yet!
The revelation at the end of book 4 was a shocker, but diving straight into book 5 I couldn't and wouldn't put it down!
I was held in the grip of anticipation waiting to see what would happen next as Leo continued his quest for the relics with both real-world complications and the party divided the way it was. I HAD to know how things would turn out. And a return to an old dungeon and past foe was always going to be an epic confrontation!
I lost a few hours of sleep devouring this book as quickly as I could, and all I can say was... Totally worth it!

As much as it saddens me that book 6 will be the final book in the series, I still can't help but eagerly anticipate its release. This is going to be EPIC!

Pretty Damn Good
I know I've gently mocked this series in my previous reviews, but book 5 is pretty damn good.
Most of the things I've laughed about are absent and there is more of all the things I like.
Now when I say "most" of the things I've laughed at, that doesn't mean all. Leo is still adored beyond all justifiable reason... but this is a wish fulfillment book ya know so... There still has to be that.
Otherwise this is a fun RPG romp with monsters, and boss fights, and hot chicks with swords who all want to get it on with the hero, who isn't a bad guy at all.
Some of the character development is cheeseyer than a plate of nachos, but also satisfying like a plate of nachos. count it as a win and move on.

I swear, half the book was just sexual innuendo, or Leo telling Cornalik to stfu to keep him from rambling on.

Speaking of Leo, what a total dumbass. Guy was inside an orphanage for 5 minutes before he finally clued in "Oh My God, this is an orphanage!". Yeah, no shit. Thanks for assuming the worst about your best bud right til the bitter end.

I started this book a bit peeved that an unnecessary final obstacle was thrown in the mix to stretch out the story another book, but it was all very necessary and this one is one of my favorites of the bunch. 👍🏾👍🏾
