Shane— I live at the end of this dark deserted dead-end street for a reason. I don't like neighbors coming around my place. There's only one other house down here. It sits across the street from me, and has been deserted for years. I like my privacy, so I'm pissed to learn that that vacant house just got un-vacant. I'm also not into kids, so when one comes snooping around my house, I'm even more pissed. Rugrats are not my thing.
When I return the kid to the other side of the street, I come face-to-face with one pissed off Mama-bear and the hottest chick I've ever laid eyes on— and that's saying a lot.
Suddenly, I'm all about being neighborly, the only problem is she wants nothing to do with me. Can I blame her? Guess I'll have to change her mind. She's mine. She just doesn't know it yet.
When my Evil Dead MC brothers roll up in a hoard, their drag pipes shake the window glass, so I know Miss Hottie hears them coming long before they arrive. The thumping base from the rock music we blast while drinking beer, working on our bikes, and shootin' the sh*t doesn't sit too well with her either. When my brothers get a look at her, I know I'm gonna have a hard time keeping them from makin' a beeline straight for her door.
She fights me at every turn, and I know it's not going to be easy. I have a feeling she's going to complicate everything.
Brianna— When I see the bikes pull in across the street, I suddenly realize why this rental house was so cheap and the leasing agent so eager to unload it. But when you're running for your life, a dead-end street with few neighbors sounds perfect.
One look at the badass biker next door though, is all it takes for me to know I want nothing to do with trouble like him. He's the worst kind of dangerous—a man built like a Chippendale dancer who radiates confidence and fearlessness. I'm sure there's not a situation he couldn't handle or a room he wouldn't own just by walking through the door.
Like a viper, he's the kind of man you don't mess with unless you're willing to get bitten—the kind of man men fear and women want to tame—the kind of man my mother warned me about.
With his looks, and the primal sexual vibe he exudes, I'm sure his bed is a revolving door of sexy young hotties eager to please him—women who haven't had a child and lived through more sadness than one can bear.
He can intimidate me, but I'll never let him see that when he looks at me with those killer eyes, he scares the crap out of me. I've got secrets, and he wants to know every one of them. I have a feeling he's going to complicate everything.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads. ========================= It was an ok read.
R A N T . . .
I was frustrated with the punishment of the bitch who stole the club's money, she deserved a shot in the head and that was it. She paid with strip club work and sex, I didn't think it was cool. The bitch will stay alive to betray the club again.
This is Shane's and Brianna's story. Shane lives on a dead end street that has only one other house on it that can't seem to get rented out due to his. He's loud, his bike is loud and he is a womanizer through and through. Different women every night. Until a little girl shows up.
Brianna is recently widowed and makes a plan for the best kind of revenge. She wants the man who killed her husband to pay. If you ask me her husband killed himself the other man just gave him what he wanted. Brianna does go after him and winds up with more than she planned to take. Will this man come after her?
Shane figures out what has been missing from his life that he didn't even know he was missing. Question is, is she trustworthy after someone steals from his club.
Loved this book and all that are with it. Only thing that's missing to me is a biker's name. Oh and the newer books are getting shorter and shorter... I like longer books myself... Off to the next book
Yeah no. Let's go all the way back to Outlaw - fabulous, five stars. What happened? why do you need to right sentences throughout the whole book that are only 5-10 words, the whole book is made up off that and there isn't any flow, full stop, 5 words, full stop. You are better than that.
I have to say I’m disappointed in the direction this series is going. Before, each book was written in third POV and very detailed when it came to club business. Recently, the last few books have been in first POV and it threw me off, however I kept reading. I haven’t been enjoying the series as much as I did before.
This book in particular was very choppy and fast paced. In the beginning we’re being told extremely vivid details that are very unnecessary to the story, such as her “putting the scrub brush away”. Do we really need to know every single item she unpacked?
I especially didn’t like the chapter in Jake’s POV. Very unnecessary and gross. Bordering on predatory and sexual assault. I don’t know if I’ll finish the last few books.
Nicole James and her Evil Dead MC were one of the first MC romances I read. At that time, I think there were only a few out. I patiently waited for each release and almost cried when they were over. So to get more from this chapter was like coming home. All my old friends with families and still kicking it. Now I can’t wait to read Green!
I didn’t understand her reasoning and her actions.
She was dumber than a rock.
It’s rare - actually it’s more like never, that I praise a hero over a heroine but this woman made it so so hard. For all his fuckboy ways - he was actually using his head for more than aesthetics.
It started off great. Badass heroine, started her revenge plot. She’d been following a drug dealer for a while, plotted her attack and executed it. Yes, it went a little off plan but she ended up with a load of cash and did a runner with her daughter. Enter MC men. Shane lives next door to a rental she has moved into. It’s great in that she notices him but knows to keep to herself. She is so careful with how she spends her money, how she doesn’t leave a trail for the drug dealer. So all of this is written well and the lead up to a bachelor with wild ways falling head over heals for her with one conversation...I’m sure that can happen, being that I am reading romance and authors are impatient with their own stories...this dawg goes and buys a truck that can take a baby seat

Other than some mild instances of violence and drug use this was a feel good story. Sometimes downright mushy. The flow of the story was a little off, so I think it could have been developed a little better. The characters are likable and interesting though. I found myself smiling often at the interactions between Shane and Brianna.
Overall this was decent. I just needed more. Brianna just kills a dude and they all move on like nothing happened? The club doesn’t even acknowledge it. I also felt like for being an MC romance there wasn’t much club involvement.
The first part of the book was a good story but the last of it kind of made me turn my nose up at the way the MC men acted. I just didn’t really like any of the brothers in this book.
Romance genre: MC Series: Evil Dead Length: 218 pages
Plot: Brianna is on the run from a drug lord she angered after her husband's fatal drug overdose. She has taken her young daughter and changed her identity, setting up house in another city. But she's not completely safe, and so taking up with Shane, who lives next door and is in an MC, might not be the smartest idea. However, they can't seem to resist each other. But what happens when his MC believes that she has betrayed them?
Commentary: Well this one made me pretty mad. I felt for a while that Shane was choosing his MC over her, and while I realize one of the themes of most MC books is about the loyalty of the club members, that the club comes before all else, in reality, for most of them, that central relationship really is most important. But here, he was willing to . Yes, he had the right to be mad because she had withheld so much information. Maybe. She was in danger and was genuinely fearful for her life. So I was not at all impressed with him, not during that episode or after. And I don't feel like she stuck up for herself enough after it was all over. She basically let herself take some of the blame for their actions. Too quick to forgive. If my partner treated me like that - in front of my kid - I'd be gone.
Previous book in the series:Wicked Next book in the series:Green
I read the prologue and was so excited to see Brianna’s character develop in this story. Instead I was left with our hero hitting a woman who is essentially going to be trafficked by the MC (I absolutely don’t care what she did to earn his anger), our trafficked victim being SA by a stranger w/help from a supposed “good guy” in a cut, and Cole who was the ahole at the beginning of the series charging a single widow 10% of her gains for “helping her out” by giving her the given protection of an Old Lady. WTH? This book was the worst sorry Nicole James but please do better. I’m all for escapist genre reading but at least try to write better men for women to escape with.

I found it ironic that Brianna didn't want anything to do with Shane at first because he was a biker, who was also an obvious player. It was pretty hypocritical considering why she moved there. Shane did a good job of taking Brianna's criticism to heart and started to change his life. He didn't get mad or pout about it, he just did what he thought he needed to do to get Brianna and Danielle to be a part of his life. Brianna should have come clean. A high price was paid in the end for her silence. Their book was entertaining and had the usual drama in it. Shane went above and beyond to show what a great partner he was going to make. The epilogue was nice, but I wanted to see a bit further into their future.
When Brianna Wallace’s husband dies of a drug overdose she cleverly works her plan for revenge and quickly leaves town with her small daughter. They settle into an almost derelict house near biker Shane Murphy, a situation that doesn’t make either of them happy. Though they’re both looking, Shane never wanted a built-in family and Brianna’s on the run.
Slowly Brianna and Shane get closer, but a club girls had picked Shane out for herself and warns Brianna away, vowing Brianna will regret if she doesn’t. Brianna doesn’t turn tail and run then Shane has her barred from the club. Answering a knock at door is frightening but has the drug dealer found her or did the clubbie take her revenge? Rating: 4.25stars
From the first time we meet Shane, I was intrigued. When he had to haul Mary home for Red Dog, I was amused. Now we finally get his book. Shane lives in a quiet neighborhood with only him---until Brianna moves in. She moves in with her 4 year old, Danielle. Brianna is hiding a big secret and Shane is aggravated that she's moved into his "territory", but like the usual Alpha grumpy biker---he gets over it! What a fantastic story with Shane, Brianna, Danielle, and our old favorites from the San Jose chapter. You won't be disappointed with this book. No cheating, HEA, and the same lovable group of bikers and Old Ladies from the previous books!! Go read!
Shane is book 11 in the Evil Dead MC series written by the fabulous and talented author Nicole James. Another must read and a great addition to an already amazing series. This is the story of Shane & Brianna plus little Danielle. I absolutely loved this book and this couple!! I couldn’t put the book down, their story is sexy and sweet. The chemistry between Shane & Brianna is hot and undeniable. The story line got everything from drama, danger, secrets to romance and a cute little 4 year old girl. Can't wait for Green story!
When I grow up I want to be just like Brianna. She has the hugest ladies balls around to do what she did to one of the biggest drug kings around. Shane wasn't looking for any type of ol lady when Brianna moved in across the street. He was loving having a different woman in his bed every night. But all that changed when Danielle came across the street searching for her mommy. She stole his heart right from the start.
Shane drew me in from the prologue. Brianna is a strong and determined single mom that you don't mess with. This puts her on the run. To provide her daughter some stability, Briana finds a secluded home on a dead-end street. Shane is a biker who enjoys his quiet, secluded bachelor life. He has no plans to settle down and avoids women with children…...until he meets the new neighbor. Once Shane meets Brianna and little Danielle, he is all in. He is sweet, sexy, and protective and will fight for them.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. It was a quick read, with low angst, and romantic. If you enjoy reading books with a ……. ✔Sexy Biker ✔Single Mom ✔Neighbors ✔Enemies to Lovers ✔Insta-love ✔OW Drama this interconnected, standalone book is one to pick up.
Keep in mind….this is an MC romance so when the club is betrayed, that person is punished regardless of it being a woman. Some may not like the resulting punishment.
Bad. This book is unresearched. Nicole James does not know her audience. Or subject matter. I would believe it if the author admitted to never having read an MC series. I would believe it if she watched SOA and simply went from there. Not a single character has any depth whatsoever. The plot is dumb. The chemistry is weird. The author has no idea how to write male dialogue. Shane is boring. His MC brothers are slightly piggish and unappealing. The heroine is also boring. And not too clever either. Its absurdly formulated and beyond simplistic. It might appeal to anyone aged between 16 and 20. The author may actually be a 16 year old. I started with this book. Perhaps the first books are better. I'll never know. Did I mention the sentences in the book are insanely short? As demonstrated by this review.
Read Sons of Templer instead - especially the first three in the series. Sorry Nicole.
i have grown to really love this series. so imagine my upset when i come across the first love scene for brianna and shane only to discover it is literally a copy and paste job from joker’s book only a couple of books ago. it’s exactly the first love scene he shares with holly. actions. words. feelings. thoughts. everything. later on, there’s a scene in the shower. the end of it is a copy and paste job from undertaker’s book with aj. then, there’s another love scene after brianna and shane reuinte, and guess what. it’s yet another copy and paste job from joker’s book when he and holly reconnect. soooooo disappointed because i’ve been waiting for this book since i read about shane and jake starting with the edmc as hang-arounds.
Loved Brianne and Shane's story. Their chemistry is of the charts even if they both try to fight it.
Brianne is on the run after trying to right a wrong done to her and her child. Now on the run she finds herself in a questionable part of town, and unbeknownst to her that the annoying man up the driveway would be tge one to make her want to stay.
Shane the eternal bachelor easy women fast bikes and no neighbours is just how he planned to live his life. That is until a fiesty woman and her sassy child moves in down the way. Now he can't help but want more.
When things get rocky and a threat comes to town, it tests hiw much the couple really know one another, but isnit enough to stay? Is it enough to change his ways?

This series never gets old! This is the story of Shane, a real hottie, and Briana, a single mom who is running from a drug dealer whose money she stole. At first she really disliked Shane, who is her noisy neighbor. But he is so sweet in trying to win her over that she begrudgingly falls for him. Of course they have some bumps in the road but they do get to their HEA eventually. I loved how independent Briana was and I loved that Shane respected her independence. He was just the right balance of protective but not overbearing, taking charged but not overly controlling. Great read!
This was a good book. I liked these two together. Was wondering what happened to the king pin. Did he get away? Did I miss something? I didn't care for close to the end where everyone is watching strippers and wolf says why did I get to have fun. Really. I haven't read this author in a while but apparently they are still at it with strippers. I now think of Jake as a piece of shit. Talk about diseases. Gross 😝. Was wondering also if she knows he hangs out with strippers. Like in earlier books the women find out and the women are pissed. The women needs to get together and hang out with male strippers, only fair.
Brianna story broke my heart. To lose her husband in such and ugly . but she got her revenge and went on the run with her daughter.
Shane’s life is his MC family and hittin a different woman every night until Brianna moved next door He like not having neighbors. . A miss understanding makes Brianna run because Shane found the money she stole from drug dealer. Shane and the MC thinking she stole there money. Not to give it all away Shane and Brianna fight for their lives. HAPPY READING 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
H-Shane h-Brianna Brianna is a widow w/a 4yr old who was left my her late husband who died of an overdose. She took matters into her own hands by stealing from the dealer that was selling drugs to her husband. She actually wanted to kill him but could fine him so she stole his money instead. Now she is running away & she became neighbors with Shane. I like their relationship. I think at times it became repetitive with their “love” for each other. The way (Alonzo- the dealer) died was very anticlimactic. It wasn’t bad. It was alright!
Solid, easy read. It was good to see some of the background for Brianna. Danielle was cute and I liked her connection with Shane. Even though it could have been elaborated a bit more. Book was too short and could have used more storyline buildout.
A few themes with this author that I’m not a fan of (seen in this book too): 1. Insta-love. They barely know each other, but already love each other? 2. Bad dirty talk. “You take me so good” 3. Too quick of conclusions. 4. No condoms with random, stripper hookups.
With that said, I keep wanting to read the next book in the series. :)
