Nova Brides #2

Chosen By The Alien Admiral

Rate this book
I worked my tail off to be the first female marine engineer in outer space. But my dreams became a nightmare when my spaceship crashed near an island on planet Xaxos.
Siru, a muscled, blue-skinnned aquatic alien, rescued me. Turns out, he's the admiral I was supposed to report to. He wanted a soldier. He didn't expect me to be a civilian. Or a woman.
I didn't expect him to be such a stubborn alpha male. I'm turned all the way on, and that scares me.
We have to work together to find the missing crew and defeat our shared enemy. Do I have what it takes or will the mission and my growing feelings for Siru be too much for me to handle?

Intriguing storyline but feels rushed.

I read the first book in this series as well. The plot idea is intriguing. Human women who find love off world with aliens. I love a good paranormal. My issues with this are simple. This book needs a good proof reader. There are noticable errors in spelling, missing words and so on. This reads like a first draft. There are odd turns of phrase that one might throw in to get their point across in a draft but that should be expanded upon and cleaned up.
The alien love interest is a naval captain. The structure and chain of command, the clothing, alien physiology, turns of phrase, and behaviors don't feel alien. They feel very human real world. It doesn't real as being very paranormal. In the end the love interest is an aquatic being who is also *vampiric* and can pass along his vampirism (not the words used, but that is exactly what it is) if he samples her blood, which makes his nature seem more viral than a natural part of physiology. For me, this didn't quite work. The last thing I'll mention is the fact that the two didn't even share a kiss (let alone anything else) until more than 70% through the book and when they finally do something, it's very anticlimactic. All the anticipation felt like a time suck and annoyance. This could've been great. The bones are there.

Need more

I wish this story was longer I love Maya and Siru together you can feel the heat passing between them! As with the first book this story takes place on Xaxos but out at sea and this is where we see these fall for each other and where danger brews.
Its not super spicy so if your in the mood for light spice this is the book for you!

Book 2

So this is an alien sea vampire? So much of what would make sense doesn't 😂 I have to remind myself it's fiction so it doesn't have to. But Maya girl for someone with a lot of books smart your curiosity really have you making a lot of interesting decisions.

I like this book

I like this book but expect a follow up of the first couple .No no no no I got a new story that spoke of a new adventure that take the reader to the ocean with new kind of beings that like vampire mermaids. Hey it works for this story. I was expecting a high speed chase but a cave Rescue . I give five stars because it was new an fresh but I was disappointed because I was hoping this book would add to create a bigger picture of this new world an each story a moment in their lives. The ending was ok because now I want to know if they had a boy or a girl and did she stay home with the baby an did she meet the other human on the base station. I hope I get answers in the 3 rd book. 👠👠👠👠

Yay for 2nd install...

Liked this next tale a lot better than the intro. Interesting take on the ethnic group Siru belongs too. The different factions and the ongoing conflicts make for good action and the intro to the customs, diet etc add up to a myriad of experiences. Not too keen on the intimacy as I found that raunchy and unappealing. But all the other dynamics more than make up for that.
Looking forward to next in line and after a lil break going right into book three.👏

Great read

Actjon immediately sets off this tale of adventure, mystery and romance!! Our hero Siru, confident and honourable, and the heroine Dr. Sutton, so brave, purposeful and committed to locating the people who had been kidnapped with her. Great read!! We need more women of colour heroines in Sci fi stories.

That was good

Maya is a fun, curious, and strong female lead. Siru is kind of her opposite with a mote serious manner but their so compatible that the story flowed well. Lots of action on an alien planet and some great steamy happening in between rescuing survivors. All in a day's work for these two.

I wish this was longer!

I liked this one way more than the first story. Siru was super likable as was Maya. There seemed to be a lot to of layers to the both of them and I felt like it would have been a treat to have them fledged out a lot more. I’d eat up 200 more pages of these two

DNF

Really silly story, some factual mistakes, weird word choices and bad grammar, and shallow characters. It is too bad because the first book in the series made me hope for better in Book 2, but it just wasted my time. The female main character (FMC) was prideful, stubborn, and just plain stupid at times. I gave in to frustration, stopping at chapter 4, 33%.

Good read

I liked this book but not as much as the first one. I gave it four star because I didn’t like Maya’s character. She was too nosy which was irritating. So I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I did the first one. I hope the other female main character in the next book is not as irritating or I won’t be finishing the series.

I loved how Mya was down for whatever she wasn’t scared to ask questions and to help others . Siru was trying to be closed off but that didn’t work for long . Once he was hit with “My Mate” it was over with . These two were a good pair and worked well together. Off to the next book

Good

Good First one was better. This one was a little slow. Jus seems the need for each was lacking. I couldn’t really tell whether Maya was his mate. I will read something else by this author.

Different

This was a most definitely interesting story and a little different from the norm. The hero was a different type of Alpha male not afraid to show you his vulnerable side. For example.

Interesting characters…

I found that the characters were unexpected different. I was wondering how they were going to come together and work out. Siri and Maya strong in their own ways. Sweet love story.

sweet story

I enjoyed getting to know both of the main characters. Maya remained confident and proved herself. Siru serious but passionate.

Maya and her Admiral

I really tried to enjoy this book, but the author spent more time describing everything around the ship and the crew rather than the main characters.
