After the events of the summer, Katherine and Anna are looking forward to spending a quiet, cosy Christmas together before hosting a New Year’s Eve party at Nunswick Abbey.
When a romantic weekend away for Anna’s birthday doesn’t go to plan, it proves to be the beginning of their Christmas woes, and as workplace pleasantries grow too friendly, a cloud of jealousy and suspicion forms.
As Anna plans the most important party of her career, can she convince Katherine their co-worker has more than pub lunches on the brain? Can Katherine keep her composure as the tension rises at Abbey House?
As they count down to the New Year, will Anna and Katherine’s relationship survive the calamitous Christmas season?

I loved the first book in this series and fell in love with Emily Banting‘s writing. So I was totally excited for the next story about Anna & Katherine.
From the first book we already knew about Anna‘s insecurities and they are back full force when she suspects Katherine’s co-worker (Anna‘s boss) having the hots for her girlfriend. That Katherine doesn’t notice anything and even thinks Anna is imagining this, doesn’t help at all of course. They have to overcome several obstacles and sometimes it looks they just can’t a quiet moment for themselves.
What happened to me on their journey was that I was totally engrossed and couldn’t put it down because I wanted to know what comes next. And I just loved the storyline and how the author handled the whole misunderstandings and conflict. For me the title Trust in Truth couldn’t be more perfect. It‘s about needing to trust in a relationship and also that there will be a better outcome of everything. It’s also about betraying trust, trusting the people you know and sooner or later the truth will come out.
I don’t wanna reveal anything more about the story. But what I can say is that I fell in love again with Emily‘s writing and I just love Anna & Katherine. Both made so much progress on their own but also together. It was just wonderful to witness. We also get to see a bit more of Katherine’s best friend Rebecca. She doesn’t play a huge role in this story coming to the pages she is mentioned, but her influence is huge coming to the outcome of the book.
So but now I really stop before I reveal more than I wanted. ☺️ Can’t wait for book 3, even if it seems that we have to wait quite a bit. But it will be totally worth it.
And if you haven’t read the first book Lost in Love, I highly recommend to read this one before this book.
I received an advance reader copy from the author and voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
I like these characters and enjoyed this holiday story. Anna is smarter than Katherine is giving her credit for when it comes to Margaret and her flirting. Kay luckily only has eyes for Anna. There are a few emotional moments and of course a happy ending. I can’t wait for book 3.

This is book 2 in the Nunswick Abbey Series. I would definitely read book 1 for the background to the characters. Katherine & Anna are now living together, but true love does not always run true. A well written book, with an interesting plot - a nice easy read for a Sunday afternoon.
A novella that makes a great companion to the first in the series and a great read to get you into the season!
I found the start a wee bit difficult to remember the back story of the previous novel and feel a wee bit more refresher would have been good, and for anyone that hadn’t read the first. Once I got past the confusion I was swept into the story. I really enjoyed this revisit to the Abby and certainly recommend it has a holding story till the next one is out. As with the first book, a difficult caring situation is handled realistically and despite that I finished the book with a smile on my face.
These characters take the whole lesbians move quickly very seriously and elevate it to the next level. This novella is slightly better than the first book in the series. I’m not really connecting with the characters but I’m not hating them either 🤷🏻♀️
I enjoyed the first book in this series so went on to the second as I was invested in the characters. And I enjoyed book 2 too. Very realistic example of the best laid plans not always falling happily into place. I worried about Anna’s father’s health and pursed my lips over the villain… And who doesn’t love to hate a good villain? I’ll be reading on to book 3. (Had trouble doing this review and lost the first one. So apologies if it appears twice.😀)
Bought this after reading the first book in the Nunswick Series. Sweet Novella and a perfect follow on from Lost in Love. It's a little on the short side, I would have loved more, but it was a perfect for a read in one evening!
I love the the characters, age-gap, Christmas setting (who cares if it's February!) and everything about the story is sweet. I'm looking forward to the release of book 3!
Another short story to try and reach my reading goal! I read the first book in the series earlier this year, and this one covers similar themes. It’s quite cute but the main antagonist feels super unrealistic, and a lot of the plot occurs right at the end of the book so the pacing is a bit off. Overall it’s still a sweet romance though
I was hoping for a little more spice and for the storyline to really pull me in, but it fell a touch flat for me. It was still a good read, just didn't have the oompf.
I absolutely adore this book. It was short enough for me to finish it in one sitting if I had not needed to leave this afternoon for a meeting and dinner. It was long enough to tell the story without being boring, not that either of the two book that I have read by Emily Banting have ever approached boring.
Emily Banting has showed herself to be quite the gifted writer with well developed characters, and story lines that keep you on the edge of your seat. I cannot wait for April 20, 2022 when volume three comes out. I just hope Anna and Kat’s story continues for a long time to come.
It’s a very nice sequel to the first one. It’s still light and easy despite some heavy topics discussed in the book. Its entertaining and sweet. It’s really a one sitting read and I loved that about this series. Off to the last one for me!
I love this journey. It isn’t full of silly angst, but genuine feelings that people would feel. The MCs are intelligent and deal with life the way people should deal with it. I mean, there is still angst, but it’s all believable and understandable. On to book 3. Thank you Emily Banting.
This is a holiday novella follow up to Lost in Love, and catches up with Anna and Katherine shortly after the last book ends. If you enjoyed Lost in Love, you should like this one - the plot revisits some of the same issues from the first book, but with the basis that Anna and Katherine are now living together and have an established relationship.
I gave this 3 stars, really it would be 3.5 if I was able. I like novellas, but sometimes I feel like authors are trying to cram a full book into a smaller package and that is the case here. The story touches on Katherine's loneliness, Anna's heart condition, her fathers health, jealousy, theft, a proposal and being too busy for your relationship, all in like 100 pages. It just never gets deep enough to warrant that extra star. But like I mentioned above, if you enjoyed the first novel I would give this one a go as well. If you haven't, I would recommend starting there first.

The holidays are always a split feeling among people. Half love it and the other half don’t. There are varying degrees but the point is the same. Newly coupled Anna and Katherine are all moved in together. Katherine loves Christmas and Anna doesn’t. Added to her restlessness over the holidays, she has been given a test to prove to the trustees that she can be the events manager while not trusting Margaret who has been very handsy with Katherine and the New Years event is her test. Katherine is dealing with the changes at Abbey, a perfect Christmas and her nerves for the proposal she was planning. Things were supposed to be happier. Once again Emily Banting has pulled you in to the lives of Anna and Katherine. And I loved it! This writer has impressed me!
I like it, otherwise, I wouldn't have finished, but I am still bothered by the fact a relationship between two older women (38 and 49 years old) is so immature from time to time. They don't communicate enough, they assume things, and they don't seem to learn from their mistakes. Yeah, it is quite normal if you are a teen learning this from the first time - first love perhaps - but Katherine has already been married, and still she does some things that I cannot believe. Anna, on the other hand, is difficult to deal with, always blaming the other woman. I believe in their love and I wish them well, but sometimes I'm like: please, just grow. You could do better. At the end of this piece, though, they seemed to have reached this understanding. I don't know what comes next!
A Christmas story full of all the reality of l8fe!
life! And Katherine have to navigate some hard moments and struggle doing it together. This couple has a deep love but communication is a very important thing they just forget when life gets tough. This was a warm story that helps them shore up that flaw in their relationship. Romance, family drama, a sabatoging boss, are all art of this brilliant story fill of fireworks. It will be a Christmas reread for me.
I bought this book deserve the four star rating. It is the second book and I three book series. Catherine and Anna are now living together and their love is increasing. But there was a fly in the landmark whose name is Margaret. I like the plan of the stories were Catherine, Anna, and Margaret find them selves in a cookie situation. I like the characters in the story is good. I would recommend this book while who like sweet love stories.
This was a lovely little read just in time for the holidays! This story is as sweet as a Christmas cookie and I gobbled it up in almost as much time as it takes to bake a batch or two. I enjoyed getting to read about the proposal, and watch Anna really start to shine.
I loved the first book and this one was another lovely addition. I'm a sucker for a happy ending and these two silly MC's deserve all those swoony, lovey moments after all life jus keeps batting at them. It may be a Christmas novella but it packs a punch to the guts and the heart so enjoy getting lost in the romance.
I read this immediately after finishing the first book in the series “Lost in Love”. It is a well written novella which extends on the first book. I would read the first book first to understand context and the characters. This is a quick and easy read that I was able to read on the train from Paris to London. Very adorable Christmas novella that made me warm inside.
I can't get over how sweet and lovely these characters are! I love the way the story unfolds. So, Christmas isn't quite what any of the characters expected, and the baddie of the story seems to win.
In the end, everything is good again and the new year looks bright and amazing.
