As a prominent divorce attorney and Manhattan’s most eligible bachelor, I’m as sought after in the courtroom as I am in the bedroom. Winning in both arenas is my specialty.
The only thing I ever lost was the nerve to tell the girl of my dreams how I felt about her. Seven years later, I might be getting the opportunity when she moves into my spare bedroom.
Though I used to laugh at the notion of love, her bright blue eyes, soft heart, and quick wit has me . . . feeling things. New emotions.
And I’m starting to realize that if there’s one woman who can change my confirmed bachelor ways, it’s Tealey Bell, aka my Achilles’ heel.
So when did it all go wrong?
For that answer, we must go back to beginning when I promised one friend a favor and fell head over feels for another.
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, S.L. Scott, writes character driven, heart-racing suspense, and swoony romances that will leave you glued to the page. With stories ranging from witty beach reads to heart wrenching and heart healing, her stories are highly regarded as emotional, relatable, and captivating.
Her books are more than escapes for the voracious readers of today. They are journeys of the heart that always come with a happily ever after reward at the end.
I absolutely loved both main characters! How could I not, with names like Radcliffe Wellington and Tealey Bell (read: Tinker Bell. ehm, no, not really, just in my head. it suited her so well!). Both names were so accurate... Manhattan elite and Brooklyn social worker. Friends since college and roommates currently.
I loved the writing, I was swooning really. I came to a screeching halt though when the fake relationship occurred. I put it on hold instantly, because honestly, it made me angry. And came back later, because Rad and Tealey were just so adorable and I was really rooting for them... I'm glad I did because it's a wonderful slow-burn romance. Minus the fake dating of course, I couldn't stand Marlow.
There’s nothing like some sexy banter, hijinks and will they/won’t they to boost your spirits and make a cold and rainy afternoon fade away. And this friends-to-lovers trope did the job quite nicely while dishing out plenty of witty banter in a perfect mix of sweet and heat that will melt your heart.
Rad Wellington and Tealey Bell met in college where they were part of a group of six friends. Nearing thirty now, he’s a high-profile divorce attorney from a wealthy family and she’s a romantic at heart and a penniless social worker. Secretly, they have each always carried deeper feelings for the other. And yes, the friends are still close and willing to offer advice and helping hands. I feel there may be another book coming soon that will feature a different couple from this group. Hope so!
I devoured this book. I fell for the sexy but frustrating hero and cheered for the funny and sassy heroine. I laughed out loud and oohed and aahed while waiting patiently for “the moment” when their relationship comes together so perfectly. Everything about this story wowed me. I recommend it as an automatic one-click!
I really liked both Tealey and Rad. They both like each other but for whatever reason, they don't act on their feelings. Tealey is constantly looking out for her friends and others. Rad works a lot and doesn't think he'll ever have a long-term relationship.
I was rooting for these two the whole book! I loved all the best friends EXCEPT for Marlow. I didn't think she was a good best friend at all. I found her to be completely selfish and rude actually. At one point she tells Tealey that she's a better match for Rad because she comes from money. I realize that maybe some of that was to set up another book that will feature her, but she really left a sour taste in my mouth.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Head Over Feels gave me plenty of feels indeed. This sweet, flirty, and fun friends to lovers slow burn story with two adorable leads was such a nice reprieve- plenty of humor, some swoons, and a bit of heat.
In general, I enjoy the friends to lovers trope, but I especially like it when the trope feels outside of the archetype, and SL Scott does that here. Instead of a sweet girl long-time pining for her oblivious best friend, we have the playboy, super successful hero Rad, NY’s most eligible bachelor, having long time feelings for his best friend Tealy who has put him firmly in the friendzone for many years. And now that they are unexpected roommates, this could be their change- if not for an unfortunate arrangement and an ever growing mound of half-truths and secrets because of it.
I really loved Tealy as our heroine - she’s the perfect combination of both witty and sweet. And Rad turns out to be more nuanced and kind than I anticipated based no how he seems on paper- definitely not your typical playboy. I loved them both, and they had a sweet and natural chemistry that really draws you in. What I didn’t love were some of their friends- especially Marlow, who is at the center of the fake dating drama because of her arrangement with Rad. In general, I don’t love other woman type drama, especially when it involves a close friend of the heroine, and paired with some bad decisions from Rad, I definitely felt frustrated in places. Things don’t go off the rails as much as they could, thankfully, and these two are so perfect for each other that I still enjoyed the story, they are certainly a couple you root for. But not sure I’ll be getting behind a Marlow book in the near future, I found a lot to be desired in terms of seeing her as a substantive character, but never say never….
All in all, a great introduction to this sweet and swoony author. I’ll be checking out future book.
I received a copy of this book form the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
My approach to dating has served me well. No hassles. No strings. No heartache. As a prominent divorce attorney and Manhattan's most eligible bachelor, I'm as sought after in the courtroom as I am in the bedroom. Winning in both arenas is my specialty. The only thing I ever lost was the nerve to tell the girl of my dreams how I felt about her. Seven years later, I might be getting the opportunity when she moves into my spare bedroom. Though I used to laugh at the notion of love, her bright blue eyes, soft heart, and quick wit has me....feeling things. New emotions. And I'm staring to realize that if there's one woman who can change my confirmed bachelor ways, it's Tealey Bell, aka my Achilles' heel. So when did it all go wrong?
If you are looking for a really witty friends to lovers book then Head Over Feels is the book for you. This is the story of Rad Wellington. They guy is a realist and is one of the most successful lawyers there is so he is on top of the world. He is as sought after in the courtroom as he is in the bedroom. What more could a guy want. After all he is Manhattan's most eligible bachelor. Tealy Bell is on of Rad's friends for as long either one of them can remember. She has a great personality, a huge heart, and the girl is witty and super funny. So naturally when Tealy finds herself getting kicked out of her apartment Rad saves the day and offers his guest room. After all he has only been in love with her for seven years and she's only kept in the the friend zone for just as long. Now though that they are living together will a relationship finally be in the cards, even if they want to keep it a secret. But things are never as easy as that for our two characters. Rad has mad a promise to Marlow, one of their mutual friends, to help her by pretending to be her boyfriend. This leads to a whole lot of chaos as the lies build and Tealy falls more and more in love with him. I loved these two characters so much. She has the biggest heart and so does he but he hides it well. This book will crack you up, give you all the feels and possibly swooning several times.
Head Over Feels by S.L. Scott is an entertaining, witty read. A friends-to-lovers romance that gives all the feels. Rad Wellington is a realist, facts are his business. The successful lawyer is on top of his world. Tealey Bell is his friend since forever, and she put him deep in the friendzone. What can he do? I connected immediatedly with the characters, I liked connect with the characters and the writing itself is quite great. Beautiful 4,5 stars.
As a divorce attorney Rae know what happens when loves go wrong. Yet he has hope, Tealey is the girl he wants to break things for . However he never got the opportunity to do so and regretted it. And now Tealey is living in the spare bedroom and he is seeing her in a whole new light.
Friends to lovers trope means there is history and this standalone story had plenty of it. We saw how these two built a friendship that is standing the test of time. The chemistry is explosive and worth the wait. This was a fun romance and must read for Scott fans
I enjoyed reading Head Over Feels. I found the story to be delightful, and one that features fabulous characters and some twists and turns which kept me entertained.
I absolutely loved getting to know both Rad and Tealey. Tealey has the most incredible personality and the biggest heart. She also has a quirky sense of humour which added to the storyline perfectly. I found Rad’s journey to be a pleasure to witness, although there were times when I willed him to make different decisions, but then that was Rad 🤷 They make a perfect couple and I enjoyed observing the times they spent together.
Tealey and Rad are part of a group of 6 close friends and I do believe we are getting Marlow and Jackson’s story later this year - which excites me! My feelings towards Marlow changed throughout this narrative and I am hoping to gain her perspective regarding certain scenes she was involved in. I’m looking forward to getting better acquainted with Jackson too.
I award Head Over Feels 4 stars. This slow-burn, friends-to-lovers book is one that I recommend to you to read. I was rooting for Rad and Tealey from the go! I connected with the characters and enjoyed the storyline – this is a lovely, easy story to read.
I have read this series from book 1 and have enjoyed each one. This book is really different and I can appreciate the author tried something different and while its not my favorite in this series it was enjoyable and well written.
This is a story about single New Yorkers and the prime characters in this story is Marlow, Rad and Teally. They are part of a bigger friend group and Teally and Marlowe are close and Rad and Marlowe are close too but Rad and Teally are more casual friends because both are fighting a crush on each other.
Until Teally is forced to room at Rad's place. Then they move from a friends to lovers relationship. However Rad is an ambitious lawyer and Marlowe has big social connections and so while they both are not romantic for each other, they fake a relationship for professional and monetary reasons.
I did like Teally's character. She was awesome. I loved that she fights for herself.
This is a well written story and I did truly adore Teally. She was such an awesome character and part of my issues in this story was because I loved her so much and I did not like how Rad and Marlowe treated her at times. While this is a terrific series, this story was good but not my favorite.
I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Head Over Feels is the charming romance of friends Tealy and Rad. Tealy is being kicked out of her apartment, so Rad swoops in and offers his guest room to the woman he's crushed on for 7 years. Despite being an eternal bachelor and divorce lawyer he can't quite resist the selfless social worker. They begin a secret relationship as their friendship grows. Amidst the new turn in their relationship Rad had promised to help mutual friend Marlow by pretending to be her boyfriend. Their web of lies continues to compound as Tealy grows even further in love with Rad resulting in chaos. Tealy has such a big heart I really loved her personality. Rad while unfamiliar with love wasn't portrayed as overly promiscuous which was also refreshing. He dated but didn't run from his feelings and encounter other woman drama besides the situation he and Marlow found themselves in. There was mild angst without feeling overwhelmed by it which I enjoyed. Overall I definitely enjoyed this book and couple.
Head Over Feels is absolutely fantastic. You get all those feels when it comes to this one. I love love love Tealey and Rad so much. Tealey is so sweet and Rad is more then what he seems. Both have this caring side and always there to help a friend in need. Rad will make you swoon and Tealey will make you giggle with her punny ways. I adored this one. I love how Rad steps in and helps his friends. This group of 6 are all different in so many ways but all just click in ways that are needed. Even Marlow will grow on you just a little here and there. There is amazing chemistry that just make your heart get all gooey when it comes to Tealey and Rad. I'm so excited for this one and cannot wait for all you to meet Rad and Tealey. You need to one click this one and fall hard for these friends.
5 ALL THE FEELS STARS!! Here we go again with the author giving us all the feels. Tealey and Rad will touch your heart all the way through. S.L. Scott always gives us readers a great story and this one is no different.
This is a friends to lovers romance based in NYC. Head Over Feels was a good book. It was enjoyable and it would have received 4 stars but it was annoying that the characters just weren’t honest with each other and kept so much a secret! Other than that I really like Rad and Tealey! I thought Rad would be the rich, hot, snobby guy but that wasn’t him at all! And I liked that we had Tealey, the “normal” person of the group who doesn’t come from money or make tons of her own. She is just a sweet person who wants to help others. Who wouldn’t fall in love with her!? This was entertaining and there were certainly some quirky parts of it. Another good addition the SL Scott’s NYC based books!

An emotional, sweet and funny best friends to lovers romance. Rad and Tealey have been friends for a long time but somehow not really knowing the other.
It was kinda interesting how their relationship evolved, discovering how similar they were in spite of their lifestyles. Helping people in their own way. A flirty banter and beautiful chemistry with a strong hint of sexual tension.
Rad has a successful career looking to finally reach the top, a hard worker, cocky and confident who didn’t realize that the real thing was in front of him from the beginning. A man who cared about his loved ones and friends, having their back when needed.
Tealey seemed to be so different from Rad but still these two complete the other so greatly. The ray of sunshine who made our hero's heart race. It was fun to see how they might be wrong about how they perceived the other. I appreciated her bubbly, positive attitude and wittiness.
I enjoyed this story about this group of friends finding love along the way, finding themselves as well. I would have enjoyed their journey so much more if some drama weren’t dragged out.
Rad and Tealey made an amazing couple and it was really great to watch their relationship blossom. I smiled a lot, heartwarming and funny, nonetheless emotional at times. I also appreciated their honesty and friendship in every way. I connected immediately with the characters and it was well written.
I absolutely loved this book. Tealey and Rad's story was captivating and so enticing. Even though they were friends first , when their feelings started to change, it wasn't ackward. It was exciting and addicting. Actually, letting those feelings grow made them even more comfortable around each other, indicating that becoming more was the right path to follow.
There was always this attraction and admiration simmering between them, but as they started to spend more time together and stopped trying to control their growing feelings, it was clear how in tune and connected they were. Their chemistry was incredible and their witty banter was adorable. There was so much respect and care between them that I spent the majority of the book with a goofy smile on my face.
I loved their dynamics and how easily they gravitated towards each other. Even though Rad made some really sticky mistakes along the book, he had his own journey to travel until he could learn how to balance his life and value what's really important.
I'm really curious about the next books in the series, specially because I know this author brings the good stuff, but I couldn't, for the life of me, make myself like Marlow. I despised her completely. She was an entitled, spoiled brat, and that wasn't the B-word I truly had in mind.
This is a really enjoyable friends romance that made me happy on a gloomy day. The charcters were engaging even if they made me rage as much as I smiled.
Rad is seen as the player so discovering that he had a massive crush on his friend Tealey set the scene for some fun times. Throughout the story I enjoyed seeing Rad navigate his feelings and how to articulate how he felt to others. Tealey is a woman who is a friend to everyone but not in a sugary sweet way, she is an optimistic person who sees the good in people but at the same time doesn't want to burden her friend with her problems.
I like the slow burn aspect of the romance between these two it made sense because they are part of a close friendship group. Rad made decisions that frustrated me so much so that I was screaming at him to stand up for the relationship he was trying to build. I loved them as a couple they were cute and passionate and really complimented each other.
This was an easy book to read that gave me all the feelings I look for in a romance.
Whenever Ms.Scott announces a new book my book loving heart and i get so happy! So when i found out about this one it became an instant anticipated read of mine. I started reading it as soon as i could and once i did i was glued to my kindle! I really enjoyed this story!
Rad and Tealey's journey pulled me in from the start! I really liked their friendship, the way they're brought together, and the chemistry between them. I wasn't quite sure how everything was going to play out which got me into their story even more. I loved how i felt so many things with these two!
With Head Over Feels, Ms.Scott has created such a great read that'll hook you quickly! It was just what i needed this month. I can't wait to read what she comes up with next! (:
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
4.5 Stars for Head over Feels If you are looking for a fun, entertaining, flirty romance that will leave you with a big smile on your face look no further than Rad and Tealey’s friends to lovers romance. Telly and Rad have been friends for many years, problem is they are both hiding their true feelings and it’s only when Tealey’s life goes south that Rad comes to her rescue. What starts off as roommates soon turns into so much mire but will either of them be prepared to risk their friendship by crossing the line….. A favour for one friend when you really have feelings for the other was never going to end well. This is a really entertaining, enjoyable read that I highly recommend, it’s a book with all the feels and it will appeal to a wide range of audiences. This is a well written story with wonderful characters, it has the perfect mix of love, heat and humour.
This is a nice read with some really lovely characters. It is a very slow burn and if I’m honest the first half was almost too slow for me…. The inner ramblings were rather long and a bit too much, which is very unusual from Ms Scott. This author has a light touch with couple humour and writes beautiful relationships but I felt with this story it was somewhat overshadowed by too much padding… the last quarter of the story I felt the characters of Rad and Tealey really came to life and the wonderful sarcastic humour came to the fore. I’m looking forward to meeting Jackson and Marlow properly in the next story.
Am I ever the smitten kitten!! Friends to lovers trope is my kryptonite so Head Over Feels is straight up my alley. This adorable, feel good romance is full of all the best things! SL Scott’s writing is on point, her characters are fantastic (I wanna be besties) and the chemistry is explosive. I was sucked in from the beginning and could stop reading until the very last page. Rad and Tealy are a match made in heaven, from friendship to exploring their simmering feelings, I’m obsessed with them! This easy to read, fun loving story was exactly what I needed to get out of my reading funk!
There is always something extra swoon-worthy with an S.L. Scott story and I am always eager to see what spin she puts on her next book, so I was really excited to read Head Over Feels, this best friend to lovers romance, is charming, witty and kept my attention as I had a front-row to seat to see our charming yet work hungry lawyer Rad finally try to win the heart of his best Friend free-spirited Tealey and try any way he can to move himself out of the friend's zone Tealey had locked him in many years before, into the lover and boyfriend zone.
These two were so absolutely clueless about the others feelings for them. Then Rad went & made the dumbest decision, after he was finally making progress on the one thing he wanted Tealey. Their journey was filled with bad decisions, hot hot sexy times, & a really great friendship.
I think that’s the part I liked most about this book. The relationship these two had before they became more. Then their relationship only got more fun to read when they admitted their feelings for each other. A great read & I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
This author is always a one click for me but for some reason I didn’t enjoy this book as much as some of her others. Not to say that I didn’t like the story overall but I just didn’t feel the pull to the characters that I’ve felt in some of the other books. Still definitely worth checking out.
***I received an ebook copy from the author at no cost***
This book gave me all the feels.
Head Over Feels is part of Scott's New York Love Stories series, but can be read as a standalone. As always, Scott brings a well-written story filled with relatable and fun characters, plenty of drama, and moments that made me giggle and swoon.
Rad and Tealey are good friends ... but that's where it ends. Even though they both seem to be plenty attracted to one another. They run in the same social circle, after having met in a hilariously cute way years earlier. When Tealey finds herself in need of a place to stay, Rad immediately offers up his place, and the two soon find themselves roommates.
I love how Scott crafts the friendships and relationships in her books. Things were so easy with Rad and Tealey. Their banter came effortlessly and they clearly had a connection and history with one another. I loved how easy it was for them to settle into this new phase in their friendship once Tealey moved in. It was easy to root for these two to morph into something beyond friends because the connection and chemistry was there and jumped off the page.
The friends-to-lovers trope is one that I enjoy. This book has that, along with a nice slow burn that left me craving more. I devoured this book in a few days because I needed to know what was going to happen and where things would go next. Scott's writing is detailed and vivid, immersing the reader in the story. The secondary characters in this book play just as important a role as the two primary ones, and I enjoyed how Scott wove their storylines into the main plot.
Oh, Rad. Rad Rad Rad. I adore this man. He's earned a spot on my list of Top Book Boyfriends of 2021. He's smart, sexy, confident without being overly arrogant, and such a sweetheart when it comes to all things Tealey.
Tealey was so relatable. She has a heart of gold and she's passionate about helping other people. She's sweet, funny, and sassy, and prides herself on being independent.
I could go on and on about this book. If you like friends-to-lovers, slow burns, or just a good romance, this is the book for you.
Head Over Feels gets the Wordaholic Must Read seal of approval.
First time reading this author and it’s a shame how she sabotage herself. I could see the idea, the characters are multidimensional, the back store is there and the narrative is great. But it is like watching someone driving a car but doesn’t know where to go.
The sex scenes are terrible, it’s not clear where they are or what they are doing. The dialogue are even worst because it doesn’t make sense and the climax of the book is so bad I had to laugh. Seriously. It’s like she saw on tv some frases and wrote them in the book.
