Kade

My luck with finding a steady, committed relationship is so bad it should be in a record book. Not only did my last serious boyfriend use me to cheat on his girlfriend, but this other guy I’m in love with that I’ve known practically my whole life can’t see me as anything more than a fuck buddy. Well, I’m done with trying to find a guy to be with long-term. Screw commitment, it only causes heartbreak.

Damon Vance is exactly what I need. Initially, we’re both looking for a one-night stand, but the scorching heat and chemistry between us are hard to forget. He needs someone who can keep a secret, namely the one about his marriage being a sham, and I need someone who can’t give me anything more than sex. Problem is, my heart is getting more and more invested the longer we spend together. On top of that, there’s a surprisingly sweet side to Damon that’s tearing up my resolve and making it hard to remember that I’m just his bed warmer.

Damon

When I met Kayden Lee for the first time in a club, all I saw was a gorgeous man with long hair, tattoos, and a sunshine smile. From that first glance, I knew I had to spend the night with him. Sparks fly between us and the chemistry is off the charts, but there’s a problem: my wedding’s the next day, and Kade is a guest. He’s also the younger brother of one of my employees, an important fact I didn’t know when I picked him up at the club.

Despite the complications, our one-night stand turns into a mutually beneficial arrangement that has me wanting as much of Kade as I can get. I never thought I’d actually want to be committed to someone, but Kade is changing my mind faster than I thought possible. Suddenly, this marriage of convenience isn’t so convenient, and the person I really want seems determined to keep me from loving him like he deserves.

**Bed Warmer is a full-length M/M romance novel featuring a found family that keeps growing, even more tattooed hotties, and a hookup that leads to a HEA. This is the second book in the Friends of Friends series and can be read as a standalone.

Weeeellll , this wasn’t half bad . It probably doesn’t deserve 4 stars but 3 stars seemed not enough since despite it being pretty average I enjoyed it. The writing is not exceptional, it had way too little angst/tension for my liking and it felt a bit insta, yet I really enjoyed it in that kind of guilty pleasure way we sometimes enjoy a book. The guys were endearing -Damon was an absolute dream (if a bit bland at times) and Kade was a cutie, (though him being a long haired tattoo artist badass twink should have made him a little bit more interesting than he really was). Their chemistry was off the charts however and the sex was 🥵. I loved them together, I loved how Damon pampered Kade and how perfect he was . They were really really good together.
I saw someone here saying that they loved the group of friends but I’d have to disagree- I hate groups of friend who stick their nose into each other’s business all the time and especially when they all fucked among each other. Like here, Evan slept with Michael and then with Michael’s brother Kade and now they’re all the bestest friends. Also Damon had a sort of best friends who was a fuck buddy in the past and now he’s friends with Damon’s bf too etc . I’d be uncomfortable in such a situation but that’s just me.
So yeah, I think a lot of ppl would like this book, it’s the typical “boy is unlucky in love until he meets Prince Charming who is rich and spoils him while fucking the hell out of him”

A solid 4 star. This was great! I really enjoyed the community of friends/ found family aspect. This book has quite a large cast and I appreciated that it was composed of men/women, straight/LGBTQ+, white/POC people. Their bond is strong and I really loved how they supported each other without being noisy or overstepping (no meddling here). The female characters were nice and non-stereotypical to me. I wish we saw a bit more of them but I really liked their presence anyway. Go Zinna! Victoria was also great (I wish we got her book but I'm not holding my breath)!
The plot and the romance were nice as well. The two characters are drawn to each other by lust at first and they get to know each other slowly so it was believable despite the short time frame. I wish we had seen more conversations between them but I loved that it takes a while for them to trust and confide in each other because no one blurts out secrets to stranger despite what some romance books say sometimes. The heat and physical connection really came through as well. I really loved that they don't save each other but support each other.
The niggles : having read book 1 I knew of a situation before starting this book. This event/situation does not happen before p91 so I was waiting and kind of getting frustrated. My advice: read this book first, it is also better than book 1 IMHO. Second, I wish Kade did more to help, show his affection to Damon. Damon really did a LOT for Kade and I wish it was more reciprocated. That's a small niggle because Kade was great and Damon did need a bit of help with something and Kade did not have a great part in solving that. Again really small thing.
I can't wait for book 3. It's about Evan and I hope we get a fourth book about either Ian or Dom (or them as a couple, I can see that)

* 2 stars *

The blurb had me excited about the plot, but the execution left me feeling slightly disappointed.

Kade is a tattoo artist that can't seem to keep his feelings separate from sex, even though he tries to and wishes he could.

Damon is a wealthy businessman who is in the closet and has decided to marry his best friend in an effort to help her with her father.

That marriage seemed more of a half-thought/spur of the moment action than a last effort solution because they were out of options. I'm not even sure what they thought they'd achieve with it, or how, since after the honeymoon each just got on with their own separate life in their own separate home.

I liked the relationship between Kade and Damon, but I was looking forward to a slow build-up of feelings over the course of a few months, at least. However, everything moved on much, much faster.

There was also the obligatory break up thing near the end of the book, which definitely didn't need to be there based on how the characters acted up to that moment.

What bothered me the most in the book is that there were a lot of scenes that were told from two different perspectives. We would be told about a scene from Kade's POV, for example, and when the next chapter started we would be told about it again from Damon's POV. Or, sometimes, the new chapter would start with the events that happened several hours or even days before where we left off in the previous chapter. And in the cases that the characters weren't together in the scene that closed one chapter, I would often read many pages until I realized that the timeline had shifted back. It wasn't a flashback kind of thing, that was just how the story was told, as if the author couldn't decide whose pov was more important for some scenes so they decided to just include both. It didn't happen on every chapter, but it happened a lot. It's an interesting approach and one that I haven't encountered before, but I'm finding that I'm not a fan of it.

This story didn't work out for me as well as I had hoped it would, but I still liked the characters and the general idea for the plot. I don't think I'll continue with this series, mainly because I didn't like reading about a scene two times and I'm not willing to do it again.

I loved this book!

•Great main characters
•Dual POVs
•Fuck buddies
•Good pacing
•Relationship development
•CHEMISTRY IS HOT
•Good supporting cast

It also sets up the books to come nicely.
Bed Warmer is book two of a series; IMO, book one should be read first for maximum enjoyment.

New author I'm keeping on my radar.

Highly recommend it!

When I grabbed this book, I hadn't realized that months ago, I'd read the first of this series. Not until I saw the names of the couple in the first book and remembered just how much I had loved Jennifer Luxe's first novel in this series. I was suddenly filled with an incredibly high set of expectations.

I am pleased to announce that this book not only met but exceeded said expectations.

Bed Warmer is the story of Kade and Damon. Kade is the brother of Michael from book one and a man who has had very bad luck in the dating game. His ex-boyfriend of over a year cheated on him - or more accurately cheated on his even longer term girlfriend with him and now won't leave him alone - months later. Damon is about to enter a marriage of convenience with his lesbian best friend so she can take over her father's fashion design company - eventually. Neither of them are looking for more than one night, but the intense chemistry between them and the mind blowing night they share together - incidentally the night before Damon's wedding at which Kade is (unknowingly) a guest - makes it very hard for it to be just one night.

The characters in this book were amazing. The relationship between them was hot and the chemistry was palpable, coming off of the pages in waves. They were one of those undeniable couples that as you read more into them, you can imagine entire futures for them both as a couple and as individuals. And the side characters in this book? Absolutely chef's kiss. I loved Hamza and Zinna and how they related to Kade. I loved Michael and Evan and how they were very involved in both Kade and Damon's life.

And Victoria, Damon's wife? I want to applaud the author for not making her into some kind of villain. She was, instead, their biggest cheerleader. The friendship between Damon and Victoria felt so incredibly real and true and I found myself rooting for Victoria and her happiness as well. Seriously, if this author ever decided to switch it up and write an FF romance just for Victoria, I would be there in a heartbeat.

This book is a dual POV, low angst romantic romp of two men who aren't looking for anything more than a night but find so much more than that. I highly recommend everyone pick it up and take the fun escape it provides.

I loved book 1 of this series and had high hopes for book 2 and it did not disappoint. The ending of book 1 is where we read that Kade slept with the groom Damon the night before his wedding and this could have gone so bad and painted Damon in the worst light from the beginning but the author made you understand everything immediately, so you were able to immediately love Damon's character.

Poor Kade has had the worst luck in love and with his ex Ian still coming around he is finding it hard to move on and we will leave out all the Evan feelings. When Kade meets Damon he plans to have only a friends with benefits situation however Damon makes that impossible by being such a great partner. I loved the side characters relationships and I also loved seeing Damon finally start putting his father in his place near the end and it wasn't as climatic as Damon thought it would be.

Great read and I would highly recommend this whole series!

Oh this was such a great surprise. I didn't know the author before but this book is the exact reason why I love to read ARCs from new authors.

Kade and Demons story was heartwarming and wonderful. The trope may be old but in this case it was done in an entirely new way.

I loved how the relationship developed, how they talked with each other .... and the sex was HOT. The drama was well done and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

I also now have to go and buy the first book in this series because Michael was a great secondary character.

So, 4,5 stars for this wonderful love story. If you are looking for something to warm your heart and brighten your day, this book is a good tip.

I loved getting the chance to review this ARC and as always I am happy to give my honest opinion

Started out so good…

This is a new to me author & I loved the books opening. The couple chemistry in the first meeting & following one night stand was hot. The writing engaging & I liked each main character individually then the bubble burst. The following chapters spelled out exactly how the book would pan out - dumbing it down..
I stuck with it when the couple reengaged but they quickly fell into being boring and by 50% the sex was referred to off page. Not good.

ARC received from GRR for an honest review.

Kade seems to be a magnet for losers when he's looking for a prince charming. After his last attempt at a steady relationship explodes he decides to give up on the forever guy and go find a Mr. Right Now. His first night out at the club he sees a sexy guy checking him out and he freaks out and goes off away from the guy. The sexy guy goes looking for him and they end up together that night. The next day when he's attending a wedding with his friend he gets a surprise that is one for the books. His hook-up is the groom.

Damon is a closeted gay man that is getting married tomorrow, so to let off some steam he goes to the club to pick up someone. He immediately spots Kade is immediately attracted. He approaches Kade and soon they're at a hotel spending the night together. After his wedding he notices Kade is there and he asks to meet him and explain. Kade is curious so he agrees to meet Damon. After the explanation Damon propositions Kade for a friends with benefits relationship. Kade isn't getting his white knight, so he agrees. How will these two navigate a FWB relationship without letting emotions come into play?

This is a well written book with no notable errors in spelling, punctuation and grammar. I really liked the concept of the story and feel like the author pulled it off. The chemistry between the two characters is hot and also loving. These two men, who are complete opposites, from two different worlds, make their relationship work. They each give the other what they have been missing. The background of the two MCs are well fleshed out, as well as the supporting characters. I still don't like Evan but he has progressed from when he first appears in book one. It isn't necessary to read book one, as this book explains the supporting characters well, but as book one is also good I recommend starting there.

I thought at first that Kade and Damon could not have met at a more inopportune time. Their hookup came the night before Damon's marriage of convenience to Victoria. But as I read, the author did a good job of telling the story of how meeting when they did, when both were not getting what they wanted out of life for different reasons, was good timing. Kade recognized that he tended to fall too fast and hold on to long. But Kade had missed that he was unequally yoked with both of his recent exes and being with Damon helped him face that and he was a bit more clear eyed as he fell for Damon. Damon was working hard to please his father but not communicating with him. He didn't even tell his father he is gay. But his relationship with Kade, and make no mistake matter how much they wanted to call it casual they were never really casual from the beginning, gave him perspective and helped him fight for what he really wanted. This couple may not have had a conventional trip to their HEA, but they got there and there was humor, steam acceptance, caring and a great story told along the way. I really liked so many of the supporting characters that people their world and Kade's big heart, even for an ex who cheated made him getting someone who cared and focused and took care of him even more special.

Bed Warmer is the second book in the Friends of Friends series. This Jennifer Luxe tale is easily read as a standalone.

Kade and Damon make for a nice read, with the attraction being there from the start. They start with a hook up and slowly end up as more.

I love these two together. They each support the other nicely and things between them just feel so right.

This one involves a married man who's in a fake relationship. I can't get enough of how supportive Damon's wife is. I love the relationship they have and that she's there to support him throughout.

Yes, some may hate the marriage aspect of this story, but I just love the way this whole story develops. The marriage adds so much to Damon's character and the obstacles they face along the way.

The writing if great, with some wonderful characters, including some nice secondary characters.I love the found family aspect, which is always a nice thing to read. And in this case, it's a well rounded group of people who add a lot to the story.

Bed Warmer is one of those books that feel into my lap exactly when I needed it most. I love everything about this Jennifer Luxe story and found myself devouring it as quickly as I could.

This book was so unique and fun loving!!! Kade the tattoo artist who has given up on commitment from being hurt and Damon the rich guy who truly does have a heart of gold! Marrying his best friend as a favor really is a big gesture of caring for someone else! And Victoria is a wonderful best friend. The entire way all of these family, friends and work colleagues interconnect is the perfect storm of a story! I absolutely laughed out loud at the dynamics between Kade and his brother Michael and with Evan his best friend who he was once sort of involved with. They are so snarky and sarcastically funny but you can just feel how fond they are all of each other. Damon and Kade are smoking, sensual hot together! This book is told in both of their POV's and all of the characters are well fleshed out and everything is so vividly descriptive! I received an ARC of this book I and Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys an unusual and hilarious first connection that becomes something so steamy, sweet and strong! I really loved this book! I cannot want for the next one! So many wonderful characters to choose from!

Bed Warmer is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I was definitely impressed. The second in the Friends of Friends series, this book worked perfectly well as a standalone. I really enjoyed the fun, flirty vibe throughout the story and genuinely liked both the main characters as well as many of the secondary characters, ensuring I’m certain to be back for more from this author and series.

Kade and Damon arean interesting pairing, not quite opposites attract but not who I would expect to end up together. Their easy chemistry was palpable from the get-go, but I appreciated that their physical attraction extended beyond the bedroom and turned into an all-encompassing love. This is definitely one of those romances where the level of heat doesn't overrun the emotional connection between the couple.

I quite enjoyed how Bed Warmer takes a different spin on the fake relationship trope. While the start of Kade and Damon’s relationship isn’t traditional in any sense of the word, it is well developed and kept my full attention. Add in solid writing, good dialogue, and a great cast of characters, and this is an easy recommendation for any reader looking for a fun read that has a good story with great heat and a nice romance.

4.5 Stars 🌟 loving this series!!!

I loved this book....even better than the first ❤️ Kade has been on my wish list for a story since the first book and OMG... I'm in love!!! Poor Kade has been so unlucky in love, with a string of unrequited relationships in his wake...he's looking for that lifetime love that never seemed to happen. Damon has found himself in a situation where he can only do hookups and one night stands for the time being as a favor to a friend until he meets Kade. The attraction is immediate and the magnetic pull to Kade is strong, they decide to start a no strings hook up that slowly build into the sweetest love ❤️ This book is so sweet and equally sexy, the bedroom scenes are scorching hot 🔥 this author has built an interesting cast of characters that get you hooked, I loved seeing Taric and Michael again and anxiously await the next book in this series.....I have no doubt Evan's book is going to be just as good as the first two in this series. Jennifer Luxe is slowly becoming one of my go to authors, everything I've read so far is fantastic.

This is a story that gave me mixed feelings. Right from the start I could see the relationship between Damon and Kayden going so many different ways. A tattoo artist and a corporate exec are not who would seem to fit together. Yet here they do. There is just such an attraction between them right from the beginning. At first I wondered if Damon would go through with his fake marriage after meeting Kayden but he did. How they going about resolving this attraction could go so many ways. How about when Kayden’s bff and Kayden’s brother’s boss is Damon. This was a fun sort of sad story. Kayden does not have much luck with relationships. I felt bad from him from the beginning. He really wants to have something long term but things don’t seem to work for him. He isn’t good at hook ups but feels maybe that is his answer. I really enjoyed this book and this appears to be only the second story published by this author so I have to go back and read the other and look forward to the next.

I received a review copy from Gay Romance Reviews

I really loved this book. It is a solid 4 stars. Kade is a tattoo artist who has had one too many heartbreaks and is afraid to commit to someone as a result. Damon is a COO of a successful company and has agreed to marry his lesbian best friend to be her beard and help her get into her fathers business. But Damon is gay and meets Kade just before his wedding. The two start up a casual relationship that eventually leads to feelings.

I really enjoyed how both men were falling for each other but didn't want to admit it and didn't think the feeling was mutual. I really liked how this story was a bit messy. The characters felt like real people, and the ensemble cast of friends were supportive without meddling, as well as being understanding and caring for each other. I really liked this story overall. It was sweet with some low angst and it was great all around.

Full credit to this novel for taking some familiar, and fun tropes– marriage of convenience, hookups-to-feelings, etc. and taking them for an interesting spin. Readers get to spend plenty of time with Kade, Damon, and their considerable chemistry, and it’s for the most part a compelling experience. There’s also an intriguing cast of supporting characters, and the plot flows along well, with no slow parts or unnecessary repetitions. My one caveat here is that I found something a little discordant about the protagonists in this novel as people– something a bit stilted at times, maybe, or smug? I can’t quite think of the words I want here, but basically: moments where they’re not quite unlikable, but I definitely raised an eyebrow, especially with Damon. Overall, however, I enjoyed the book, and if the blurb appeals, give it a try!

I am loving the Friends of Friends series so much! The first book was outstanding and I couldn't handle the slight cliff hanger we got at the end of the first book, teasing what was happening with Kade and Damon! :)  Bed Warmer was absolutely worth the wait! I loved seeing Kade and Damon find their way to each other while still keeping their relationship a secret and I loved even more how Damon was totally enamored with Kade from the beginning. While it was heartbreaking to see Damon struggle with expectations from his father, seeing his growth professionally and personally was so rewarding. After everything Kade has been through, it was great to see him finally find his person. I am so excited for the next book in this series and I love that we got to see a glimpse of what's to come for all our favorite characters. Wonderful writing with great characters and captivating storylines. I received an ARC for an honest and fair review.

Terrific storyline with wonderful characters will make your heart happy.  I really enjoyed the MC's and I thought Damon's wife was wonderfully done.  A marriage of convenience with Victoria being so realistically done with a close friendship, was great.  The writing was good and the story was just waiting to be told.  This is a new to me author and I enjoyed their work so much.

Kade and Damon flowed on the pages of this story with their personalities and their chemistry.  They create a great couple that you will be rooting for.  Their journey felt real and made for a fun and low angst read which I appreciated.

This is book two of the Friends of Friends series and can be read as a stand alone.

I have been so thirsty for a good romance book lately and FINALLY this drops in my lap. I was allll in from page one. First of all, the characters of Kade and Damon are romance perfection. Kade the jaded big hearted tattooed guy, Damon the rich married closeted sweetheart. Literally everything I love in a romance pairing. There is also amazing side characters (Damon’s wife…oh my god I want a book with just her PLEASE). The hurdles the two face don’t feel forced in anyway. Like, of COURSE Damon is scared of his successful boss father. Of COURSE Kade is not willing to let his alcoholic ex suffer. Nothing these characters do seem out of character as the story progresses and that’s been a hard find lately. The smut was tastefully done, the romance was beautiful, and the friendships were perfect. A great great romance novel can’t wait to read more from this author

Never settle. Kade makes bad choices in his partners. He seems to be just a physical convenience, for many. He is ready for love and commitment. Kade and Damon are in a relationship of convenience, that is becoming less and less convenient. Damon entered into a fake marriage, just as he met Kade. They are opposites, but fit. They grow more and more heart entwined as times goes on. Will Kade accept being the other man? What about Damon's wife? They both need to make choices about their quality of life. What will they do? Good story. There are a lot of unexpected complications. Unexpectedly, both men are absolutely likeable. The storyline is good and draws the reader in. Well done! Although this is book 2 in the Friends of Friends series, this book can be read as standalone. You might be like me and enjoy it so much that you will buy book one, if you haven't already read Michael and Taric's story. I will also be looking out for more books from this author.
Kade is a colourblind tattoo artist and met Damon the night before Damon married Victoria. (There is a story behind this.) Their journey was a wonderful trip through attraction, fear, devotion to love involving quite a few misconceptions, arguments and chances.

To be honest, I'm not so sure that I liked Kade and the whole thing, everyone has been with everyone and we might still have feelings.
However, I loved Damon so much that I read the whole thing in one sitting!
He is handsome, nice, a loyal friend, sweet to people he likes and in the closet. How can you not love him?! He makes Kade feel safe and wanted. He just wants to make him happy!
Good job Damon, you did it!!!
P.s. their steamy encounters are just scorching!

Seriously good! The premise and the way the plot played out was really well done. There is a fantastic group of secondary characters, friends and found family! Loved Damon and Kade’s story!! Kade had the worst luck in the love department! Sometimes I felt that Damon was more vested than Kade but it all worked out at the end. Overall, the story was really good, kept me glued to the pages! The story was well written, highly recommend! I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.

This has been my week for lucking out with great women in m/m romance books. In the past, too many stories had women who were evil, bitter, etc. and out to thwart the main characters. Glad to see that tide turning. Here, Victoria, Damon's wife is 100% supportive of Damon and Kade and I love her. You'll see why when you read this. Watching Damon and Kade try to stick to one night but just keep running into each other is amusing, but their relationship is not in the least light. Great characters and great plot. Now, let's get Victoria's full story in this series too.

This series is great! I am so enjoying the group of friends and found family that are woven into this series! It’s so amazing to see such a diverse cast of characters! The romance between these 2 men was electric! They were instantly drawn to each other and had off the charts chemistry! KaDe and Damon were perfect for each other! This has been such an amazing series so far and I’m so looking forward to the next one! 💜

I love finding authors that make me want to devour their backlist. I can safely say that this book has lead me on that path.

This book was wonderfully paced and showed a deep connection between Kade and Damon. The author did a great job at showing the communication between the characters and even though communication wasn't always perfect, Kade and Damon grew with each other and learned how to communicate and grow their relationship.

I am very pleased I was able to read this book and I look forward to more in the series!

This story is a good example of the marriage of the fake relationship trope. Damon thinks he is helping his best friend by marrying her so she can get a foothold in her father's company. He sneaks out to relieve some tension the night before and meets the man of his dreams in Kade. I did appreciate that the author made sure that Kade was made aware of Damon's situation up front and there was no sneaking around. And the supporting characters make me impatient for more stories in this universe.
