The Lost Corisis #3

He Said Together

Rate this book
From New York Times, bestselling author Ruth Cardello comes another scorching Corisi romance about the lengths people go for those they love and how complicated family can be.

Kal has always done whatever was necessary to protect and care for his family—even if that meant dancing for money. He’s not happy with his life or himself, but what matters most are the people he loves.

The best part of Jade’s bachelorette party is Kal’s stripping on the stage. The worst is discovering that her fiancé is sleeping with one of the bridesmaids. Drunk and ditched by her bridal party, Jade finds comfort and encouragement from the unlikeliest of men.

When Kal suddenly finds himself financially free, he seeks out the woman he hasn't been able to forget. Their reunion is hot and heavy, but poorly timed. Jade is on the rebound and Kal’s life is upside down.

He said together, but is that even possible?

He Said Together is the most recent release of this series and I have been anticipating this book so badly, ever since I was introduced to our hero, Kal. He is such an interesting mix of reserve, intellect and determination. I wasn’t sure what to quite expect from his book as I was expecting lots of angst, but it actually didn’t prove to be quite as angsty as I was imagining it to be. Kal is a hero who is a fierce protector of family. Kal works as a male stripper to bring in the income to provide for his family and work to bring together his dream of working with the oceans. Then on his job, he rescues a young innocent woman who is in need of a friend and protector who shares his passion for protecting the oceans. But what we see here builds upon the friendship that Kal and Jade form into something deeper. But there are secrets and fears that Kal has, and they might destroy the bond between himself and Jade.

I found this story to be quite an interesting one that became so easy to be invested in. There is something different about Ruth Cardello’s contemporary romances that just speak to me in a different way than any other contemporaries I read. The writing is quick and easy, but the character growth is on par and you realize what a beautiful story this turns into here. Even though there are aspects of Jade’s character I just couldn’t understand at times. I wanted to love her so much more and it just didn’t quite happen as I felt like she could have had more faith in Kal and I didn’t understand her reservations about him. But I did love seeing his family become involved especially Dominic. Oh my goodness, I loved how he interefers here and there is a reason that his character is one of my favorites in this world. He is so full of love even if he goes about it in unique ways. But I enjoyed his involvement, as it really aided in bringing Jade and Kal together at the right time that just felt right for them. I was drawn into the romance that builds between Kal and Jade.

Overall I found He Said Together to be a compelling read that worked for me in so many ways. It offers delights, laughter, poignant emotion and family bonds to be endeared to.

4.5🌟s! This was such a satisfying third book in this series! Kal has been the strong silent type during the last two books, but he comes out full roar in this book. He has been willing to give up his whole life to take care of his family. Sigh. How can you not love him?!

He meets Jade at his club during one of the lowest points in her life and befriends her. They begin a friendship that is really more about living rent free in each other’s heads than actual interaction. But both of them need to get in a place where being in a relationship makes sense. Their shared interest in marine biology allows for communication without revealing too much of their hearts.

As Invio, Kal leads a very different life and it was fascinating. He has already eschewed the seedier parts of his career, so we didn’t have to suffer through a lot of bad decisions which was appreciated. I loved Jade taking control of her life despite the obvious hardships. And you could tell they were going to make their way back to each other eventually.

And when they did finally get together, they were an explotion of pent up desire! Wowza. Some very steamy times!! They don’t even make it out of the car the first time.

I really enjoyed Kal getting to know his new brother, Dominic. They were so grouchy and alike! I’m sure that’s why they didn’t hit it off from the start. But they both compromised a little and met in the middle.

Great story! This can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, but you really get a better sense of the family dynamics if you’ve read the first two in the series!

I received an advance copy of this book from the author and these are my honest opinions.

Kal and Jade meet in a club one night when they both could use a friend. Jade had just found out her fiancé is a cheater and Kal just found out he had family he didn’t want anything to do with. A friendship grew out of this meeting and this went on to be a wonderful love story. There is so much to this story than just a happy ever after romance. There is in true Ruth Cardello fashion lots of side hurting laughter, a very sexy hero and a very strong and understanding heroine. We get to catch up with favorites from previous books and of course get a glimpse of Dominic and Abby, two of my favorites. My heart hurt for Kal because he was so broken for so many reasons but he was a good man who postponed his dream for his family. He encouraged Jade to follow her heart and make her dream happen. They were so good together as she in turn encouraged him to do what made him happy. There was a lot of growth in Kal’s character as he figured out just how important family is no matter how they come into your life. Kal and Jade found a way to make the life they wanted and that included lots of people along the way.

It's been a long time since I have read a book in one sitting. This book I did. Kal and Jade's story grabbed me from the first page and I couldn't put it down. I love Ruth Cardello's books but Kal and Jade were excellent. So perfect for each other. Jade hit a low point and Kal came to her rescue. They talked and found they had so much in common but were in totally different places in their heads and careers. Kal was a dancer and got an international contract which he accepted thinking it would help him to pay his mom's hospital bills faster. Jade moved to Florida to use her marine biology degree. They each spent so much time occupying each other's thoughts. When they finally get together sparks fly. This was an awesome read. I need more missing Corisi's. A wonderful series I highly recommend it.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Kal. Dark, moody, and unwilling to take help from anyone, feeling it was his duty to take care of his mother and sister - without help from anyone. I could understand his feelings especially as I read his story. Jade was a breath of fresh air for him, yet they both were leary of going too far. Yet it took someone just like him and a new family to point him in the right direction, although as stubborn as Kal was he definitely needed someone as head-strong as Kal.
I loved getting caught up with the Corisi’s, Andrade’s and the rest of the family and the ending showed me just how romantic even strong, dark, handsome men can be.

'Wish you were here....'

I think Kal is my favourite! He is so very like Dom but without the arrogance. His family is everything to him, but what he puts himself through to provide for them almost feels like he is punishing himself for who his father was and the actions his father took.
It is a very, very bumpy ride (and despite good intentions Dom doesn't always help!) But joining Kal on his journey of self discovery is amazing, and when he finally frees himself from his demons and embraces his family and his love, it is a real Ahhh! moment. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

I loved this book! I loved Kal and Jade, both as a couple and as individuals. I’ve read everything that Ms Cardello has written, starting out as Dominic and Abby’s story and the beginning of the Corisi’s stories. Kal reminds me of Dominic even though their childhoods and beginnings in life were so different from each other. They both had a lot to overcome in how they dealt with life and their circumstances. This was one of the best books that she has written, in my opinion. You don’t have to read all of the previous books, but it helps to know the history and the characters to fully enjoy Kal and Jade’s story.

The more I get to know this family the more I love them. I've been reading this author since her first book came out and Dominic is still as hot as ever but now he has gone from hero to big brother and protector of the family.

Kal and Jade are FIRE... They click right from the word go and the story is heartwarming, fun, sexy and sometimes a little crazy, but the story will suck you in and hold you there. He Said Together is one of those stories you don't want to see end.

What I loved most about this book was the growth of not in Dominic but Kal in retrospect to accepting his sacrifices as not bad but a means to helping and providing. He is not who he is as a income but who he is when the spotlight is off and the water surrounds him.

This book is laughter, stubbornness, sexy, and true family saga at its finest. Ruth Cardello delivered what the story of the Corisi should have developed into. When a generational curse of a name is transformed into helping not hindering, laughter not fear, and true love and understanding not regret.

I loved this book and devoured it in a day. Loved how after a night of meeting Kal, Jane takes a chance on what she wants to do. Loved how hard they fell for each other, and how they were so great together. Loved the sense of family and this book makes me want to re read the whole Corisi family series. It’s so good! I really loved their happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

Superb!! This story is so, so, soooo good!! I LOVED Kal and Jade’s story!! It’s romantic, sexy, funny and believable. Kal is a brooding, sexy hunk of a man and Jade being a strong and confident woman is perfect for him. Some of my favorite parts were the interaction between Kal, Dominic and Sabastian. The family gatherings were a lot of fun too.

I was excited for Kal’s story, because he has been a mystery in this family. I loved his drive to help his mom and sister, no matter how he had to do it. Jade got burned pretty bad at her bachelorette party, but she was better off. I thought Kal was really sweet to her, and they had so much in common. They had a strong bond from that one night, and I couldn’t wait for them to find each other again. He had a lot of stuff going on with Dominic and his new family. He was so wary of them all, it was sad. I was relieved that he tried to open himself up and get to know them. They definitely made mistakes along the way, but the connection they had was enough to get them through it all.

Good things come from bad situations

This is the third Book in the Lost Corisi’s series and whilst you could read it as a standalone title, I would suggest you read the previous books as well as The Corisi Billionaires series so that you fully understand the family dynamics which are more than a little complicated.

This book follows Kal… twin brother of Riley (He said Never, Book 2) and half brother of the formidable Dominic Corisi… multi billionaire businessman with a somewhat scary reputation.

What we know of Kal in book 1 and 2 is that he’s pretty stubborn, but when it comes to his family he will sacrifice whatever he has to keep safe and happy. His disabled mother and sister have lived a difficult life. Money has always been short and Kal has tried to provide as much as he can for them since leaving school. Instead of following his dream of becoming a marine biologist he became an exotic dancer, much to his own disgust. But it paid their bills and made sure his mum got the medical treatment she required.

In book 1, we learned that Kal is the son of the ruthless and dangerous, Antonio Corisi. He was to blame for his mothers injuries and for the misfortunes that have carved their lives. He is sickened and angry, which leads him to make the decision that, unlike his sister, he wants nothing to do with his newfound half-brothers and half sister. He also wants nothing from them. So when the opportunity to take his stage show on tour, he leaves.

At one of his shows he inadvertently meets jilted bride-to-be, Jade Tremblay. She’s been cheated on, dumped by her friends and left with an expensive bar bill she can’t pay. Kal would usually have walked away from the distressed damsel but something about her makes him want to help.

Being the gentleman he is, he takes care of everything and ensures she gets back to her hotel room. There is an instant attraction between the two of them, but with Jade being drunk and still reeling from discovering her fiancé’s infidelity, he doesn’t take advantage. He does however tell her she deserves more and that she must see this as an opportunity to follow her dreams.

They part ways, but something between them tells them that this is not the end. They both have things to deal with and now is not the right time.

After months apart Jade’s curiosity leads her to make contact. She’s thought about him everyday and has followed his career around the globe. As promised, she finally plucks up the courage to email him photos of the dream she has followed.

This leads to a beautifully intimate reunion and a steaming hot weekend. They are perfect for each other but they also both have a tendency to speak before thinking which can lead to some awkward miscommunication. However, things in Karl’s world have hit a low. And his head is not in the right place. He’s worried that he isn’t worthy of the woman Jade has become so instead of talking to her and keeping her involved in his troubles… he does what he’s always done… he runs. It’s not until he is offered brotherly advice from another newfound sibling, Sebastian Romano that he realises that trying to solve the worlds problems on his own is too much to carry. Now he has a larger network of family, and financial resources at hand, he doesn’t have to run this time.

But will Jade have stuck around, or has Kal running away damaged what they have built together? Will Kal be able to swallow his pride and accept the help and support of his new found family to get the love of his life back?

Really great story. Loved Kal. He’s so complex and dark… very much like Dominic but there’s a sweet side to him that is just wanting to be unleashed. And as for Jade. She’s absolutely adorable and I love her because she feels so normal. Her gram and gramps are hilarious and you genuinely want to see her happy. Let’s hope everything turns out that way for Kal and Jade.

Can’t wait for the next instalment.

Kal and Jade rebound love can work

So glad Kal got his happy ever after. I liked a lot about this story. I liked KAL from the first time he was introduced mostly because he sacrificed a lot to help his mother and family. That in itself says so much about the kind of person he is. The way he treated Jade after his show was exactly how I would expect him to be. To see how much Dom had changed in this story says a lot about how far he has come. I love Leonardo! He is just to cute! Jades grandparents were hilarious! Their bantor is spot on and just the funniest. I have to say the part with grandpa pretending not to hear is every man alive does! Then him sitting around without pants on. I was dying laughing. Could you imagine them passing the phone around if he had no pants on? Because I thought about how funny that would be. I love the light and funny moments in the story. The part about them having the chef have his dream come true was priceless. KAL and Jade brought their way of life forward in all that they did not just the environment. That is what made this story extra special. Excellent job Ruth bringing the environment awareness to the world in your story! Definitely worth reading. I love Kal and Jade !

heartwarming

Ruth Cardello is one amazing Author. For year's I've been following her. The Corisi series is one to read hands down.
When one bachelorette party goes wrong and the bride-to-be Jade Tremblay is stuck at a strip club in Vegas with the bill and a cheating boyfriend to boot. She never thought that the main entertainment INVIO would save the day at the end of the night. In her drunk state or not she saw through him, Kal Ragsdale and she loved what she saw. A good man.
Kal hated his job but it was what he needed to do to pay for his mother's surgery. He had a lot of hatred for his biological father he never met. When he found out that he had a brother and sister from the same father he didn't want anything to do with them. So in his hatred for them he lost himself and his twin sister who had accepted her new family. He wanted to protect them both his mother and sister but through all that he was hurting himself. Relived from his contract he had to face the truth his family and could he find it in his heart to fall in love with the woman he had saved that night. It was all about trust and boundaries
I so Love this series.. Thank you Ruth you are an inspiration.

I was really looking forward to Karl’s story and it was wonderful! Kal has been dancing for several years to help pay for his mothers medical bills. Even though he finds out she is related to the Uber rich and powerful Corisi’s, hems not about to let someone he considered an outsider help him. He meets Jade after one of his shows, a bride to be whose friends have ditched her, after she finds out a horrible fact about her fiancé.

Not willing to let Jade who’s devastated stranded, Kal helps her pay the bill and sees her back safely to her hotel. They find out they have a lot in common, but the timing is wrong. Her heartfelt thank you gift keeps her in his mind for a year and a half, when he finally decides he has to see her.

Ms. Cardello has a talented way of getting me so captivated by her characters, their lives, and their stories, it’s impossible to put her books down. They flow smoothly and quickly with kindness, love, angst, and heat in all the right measurements. I loved Kal and the depth of his anger and vulnerability and later his love and passion. He is a complex man, and every level is brought out with strength and compassion. I love this series and all the lost and found Corisi’s.

I really enjoyed this sweet read, it floated along, no real highs or lows, just pleasant reading.
The one thing that jarred it though was the quick sex when they met again and then the unprotected sex when Jade was righteously upset with Kal. I didn’t like that scene due to the fact they didn’t even talk before diving on each other, then Jade kicks him out. Mean.
IF Jade had gotten pregnant, it would have been a sad way to remember such an important event.
Yes, apologies abound from both but maturity was lacking from them in their reasoning.
A pity as they had bonded well and proven that they could work out a good life plan.
I’m glad Dominic is still his usual self, softer but no less domineering or hapless in wanting to care for those he considers family.
Loved all the interactions with everyone else.
And what they did for Paul was so sweet.
I cannot even lie and say I understand this modern world of how social media pays you to post your own stuff but I liked that the environmental tragedies they highlighted are factual and a real problem for our lovely planet.

another great read

Another great ride from Ruth. Kal and Jade meet when he is stripping at one of his shows and she finds out that her fiance is cheating on her with one of the bridesmaids and is left foot the bill of her bachelorette party, Kal finds her drunk and crying and takes her back to her hotel room but they keep in touch and when she sends him a marine biology book he goes and finds the author/marine biologists that the the book is written about and starts a journal For Jade and writes everything that happens and take pictures. When Dominic gets him out of his stripping contract he’s finds he’s lost and turns to Jade for help and comfort. It both beautiful and terrifying reading about both relationships be the love he finds with Jade helps him find a better relationship with Dominic and as usual Dominic throws money at problems and family but Kal doesn’t appreciate either. Jade helps him see an want to be a better person and I think Dominic finally finds out his family only wants his love not his money. Leonardo is a smart boy and his brilliant I hope he and Judy gets their books too.

Kal and Jade are the perfect combination but their timing sucks. Can they overcome their struggles and support each other?

Kal is dancing to help his family and hating every moment of it, which makes him extremely angry. His fans find his brooding intriguing.

Jade finds out in the nick of time that the man she was about to marry is cheating. With some sound advice from Kal after a chance meeting, she breaks free and begins the life she always wanted.

Can their chance meeting and shared love of saving the ocean bring them together?

Although this is Kal story, I feel that with each new sibling Dominic Corisi finds, he discovers a new sense of himself.

He learns that he can give of himself without spending money but that doesn’t stop him from trying to make things better for his siblings any way.

Together, Kal and Jade are stronger and with the blessing of their families, they create magic.

I wish this story was longer but hope to capture glimpses of them in the next book Ruth Cardello writes!

My first love from Ruth was Dominic Corisi and he has always been my favorite. But let me say Kal is giving him a run for his money. Although they were both angry, brooding men they found the right women to bring out their soft side. Jade and Kal met and they had an instant attraction but Kal was a perfect gentleman where most men wouldn't have been. After finding out he was related to Dom, Kal wanted nothing to do with him. Slowly and cautiously he worked on getting to know his new family with Jades help. Too proud to accept Dominic's money he was used to hard work and he was determined to make it with Jade by his side. I'm so happy his mom finally can find happiness and healing. Out of all the evil things their father did, his 5 children rose above and didn't follow in his footsteps. As Sebastian said "break the pattern before it breaks you"

A welcome addition to the series

In her lowest moment, Kal rescued Jade. Even though he desperately wanted to pursue his dreams and couldn't at this point in his life.
He encouraged her to follow her dreams and not define herself based on what her cheating fiancé did or what others expected of her. I love the way their relationship grew. It took persistence, honest communication, love, and a friendly nudge from Dominic (who has mellowed a bit but still can be a bit controlling) before they were able to find happiness.
Kal's mother is a sweetheart. The fact that he called her for advice on the situation he was in shows how trusting and beautiful their relationship is.
Jade's grandparents are precious gems. You want them to be preserved forever so that they will always be in your life.
This third book is a fantastic addition to Kal's sister's story in book two. Now mother, daughter and son are all happily in love.
I thoroughly enjoyed the books in this series so far.

Ruth Cardello did a FANTASTIC job bringing us Kal and Jade's story in He Said Together! I was actually quite pleasantly surprised by Kal's character overall. He was just so set in his ways and had really been through so much already he wasn't ready or willing to let anyone else in. Until one night he met Jade after learning some extremely life changing news.

These two were such a good fit for one another. Kal needed someone that was strong enough and could show him how deserving of love he was. And Kal was so good to Jade when she went through a really tough time in life.

Loved these two together, and especially loved how Ruth puts her perfect spin on love stories. They are original and unique - with a focus on family, love, and loyalty. Really liked this one!

They can accomplish anything together.

This is a series that readers benefit from reading previous books to get To know deciding characters. That being said, the romance is self contained so could still be enjoyed solo.

One of my favourite things about this story is how hard they continue to work to accomplish their dreams and goals even after being given an easy way. Kal says no to every hand out and leg up after finding our who his family is. He faces his past with openness and honesty that allows others to embrace his vision.

Jade doesn't let her mistakes rule her life. Her vulnerability may be what first caught Kal's attention but her strength and ambition is what kept him hooked.

They make an amazing team and I'd love to see more of them.

Jade and Kal are not the typical couple found in this series. They are usually power couples with money. Kal is an exotic dancer, earning money for his mother’s surgeries. Jade is a runaway bride, after she finds out about her fiancé’s cheating. She is a marine biologist, who starts a new life in FL. Kal finds out he is a half brother to Dominic Corisi! Talk about a life changer! I have read all the books in all the several connected series and enjoyed them all, especially all the character overlap in the stories. Read them all, if you have not already done so!
