Isabel knows relationships cannot be built on a lie, so why has she accepted Sebastian’s invitation? She knows she needs to tell him her secret but, as their relationship blossoms, it becomes harder to explain what she’s been keeping from him for two months. Will she get the chance to explain to the man who she’s fallen deep for or will a blast from the past ruin her chance? Sebastian Petrov has witnessed how cruel life can be. Determined not to let his past discourage him, he works hard alongside his father and will do anything to protect his younger brothers. A handsome man and the owner of a high-class nightclub, he has women falling at his feet. He knows he could have the pick of any but falling in love with them is not for him. Eruption is his baby and in need of a new assistant bar manager. After interviewing a number of applicants, who were either not good enough or irritated the hell out of his father, and the last one not even bothering to turn up, he decides to call it a day. Sebastian Petrov thought the last applicant was a no show, but he got so much more than he bargained for when she shows up late. Can Sebastian ignore the pull between him and his new member of staff? Or will he throw caution to the wind and pursue the woman who drives him crazy?
THE DEEPER WE FALL is told from both POV with a HEA. It can be read as a standalone or read alongside Ain’t Nobody Series, When We Dance, When We Hurt, and When We Love.
I really enjoyed this story of Sebastian and Izzy, whose relationship flourished despite their disparate backgrounds. The author did a good job with character development and the story held my interest. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
If you like the Ain't Nobody Series then you will definitely love this. Set as a prequel standalone story this follows Sebastian, Vlad's eldest son, and Izzy and tells the story of when they first met. Right from when Izzy turns up an hour late for a job interview at Sebastian's night club, he would have normally written her off but as soon as he sets eyes on her he is smitten. But with the memory of his neglectful mum still at the forefront of his mind he finds it hard to trust and be close to anyone. However the sexual tension is palpable between the two and they find themselves quickly getting lost in the passion and love that they obviously have for each other. However Izzy has some secrets that could break their relationship apart and the road to true love is a bumpy one. Like with Tracey Gerrard's other books this is a steamy and thrilling read that would put the likes of Fifty Shades to shame. Told in 1st person POV from both Sebastian and Izzy's perspective. I can't wait to see what else Tracey has to other. I hope there are more standalone stories featuring the other brothers. I would be particularly interested in seeing a Nicholas centric book. That would be interesting.
A thoroughly enjoyable feel-good romance book, in many ways a rags-to-riches, Cinderella-type story. Writing from the POV of the two main characters we’re privy to their thoughts as their romance see-saws. Isabella, in need of a job and believing she has to keep secret her child for that to happen, takes on a job at a nightclub owned by Sebastian, someone who has his own emotional issues. Slowly we are introduced to both characters and some of the side ones, also, as the novel progresses and discover their own secrets. In the end, it is easy to feel sympathetic for both of them. It’s nice to read a book that leaves a warm feeling afterwards and the angst is all dealt with in a controlled way. This is part of the Ain’t Nobody series and I believe a stand-alone, and no doubt offers us a different POV from them.
If you enjoyed the, ‘Ain’t Nobody’ series then you are sure to delight in this steamy romance thriller, ‘The Deeper We Fall.’
This prequel, standalone story revolves around the handsome Sebastian Petrov and his stylish nightclub, Eruption. He is the eldest son of Vlad, the big broody Russian.
Isabel Shaw is desperate to get to an important interview taking place at Sebastian’s nightclub, but she arrives an hour late, soaking wet and bedraggled from the rain. However, she composes herself and answers their questions and manages to make a good impression on her would-be employers.
Sebastian is drawn to this confident, beautiful woman, Izzy. In fact, he can’t get her out of his mind! Izzy is pleased when she is offered the job, though there is a secret that she dares not tell them. What will happen when the truth comes out?
Well-written, apart from one or two typos. Although this did not detract from this moving story where passion and love emerge triumphant.
A satisfying, tender tale of two people finding each other. Recommended.
Having enjoyed the Ain’t Nobody Series, I was delighted to read this book, which is a sequel featuring Sebastian, Vlad Petrov’s eldest son. The book fits well with the original series but can also be read standalone novel. When Isabel is desperate to find a job to support her son, she keeps his existence a secret at an interview, knowing having a young child could jeopardise her chances of getting the job. Even at the interview she is drawn to the handsome Sebastian Petrov, a known playboy, and she has no intention of becoming involved with him. However, the attraction is felt on both sides and despite her good intentions, she soon falls head over heels in love with him. Given that the young man already has trust issues with women, she struggles with her decision to keep her child a secret. The book is written from the POV of both the main characters and this works well. A steamy, feel-good romance which I enjoyed and recommend.

I think I love this spin-off prequel to the Ain’t Nobody series by Tracey Gerrard better than the series, not to mention the other associated story, Let Me.
Why? I wish I knew, because the ongoing story of Holly, Vlad and their large extended family plus friends is pretty good stuff, second-time around romance with some dark times but ultimately a happy ending. The Deeper We Fall is cut from the same cloth, yet dealing with the developing relationship of Vlad’s eldest son Sebastian and Izzy, an applicant for a job at Vlad’s club. Both have issues—an uncaring and now deceased mother in Seb’s case, and a truly horrendous start in life on Izzy’s side. Given how lousy her life has been, the girl is in need of a break, and then some, which is why she holds on with tenacity to her chance for a much-needed job when she’s later than late for the interview, through no fault of her own.
Izzy gains Vlad’s respect, which is saying something when you consider how seriously scary this mess-with-me-at-your-peril Russian bear can be, and often is. From Seb she gains more than respect, and things are moving along at a happy pace between them—and then a chance encounter brings about misunderstandings which threaten to ruin their budding romance. It’s time to tell the truth and see what, if anything, can be salvaged.
I think it was the essential sweetness of Izzy, and the ability of her circumstances to bring out the latent fairy-godfather streak in Vlad, which brought me completely on board and rooting for her. A feel-good story with a will they, won’t they twist which doesn’t guarantee a happy ending. A recommended read.
Although The Deeper We Fall is part of the Ain’t Nobody series it’s a standalone sequel revolving around Vlad Petrov’s eldest son – Sebastian. Sebastian Petrov is a hard-working, womanising, handsome hunk. Like his father in many ways, he’s a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy. Also like his father he believes in family, loyalty and honesty. His good looks, physique and friendly personality mean he has women falling at his feet, eager to be on his arm and in his bed. He doesn’t let them down in that department, but he doesn’t want to marry any of them.
Izzy stumbles into his life bedraggled and drenched from the rain on her way to a job interview at club and he’s immediately smitten by her. But he has trust issues where women are concerned and Izzy has things in her life she has to deal with. Desire wins the day and the couple can’t get enough of one another. But will their respective past experiences force them apart? Read this steamy delight from Tracey Gerrard to find out. You won’t be disappointed.
I loved Sebastian and Izzy's story. Although this story stands alone, I'm hoping that Ms.Gerrard will write more romances involving the rest of the Petrov family....after all Sebastian does have brothers. Looking forward to more from this author!
This love story deserves the rating I have given. It grabbed my attention from the first chapter because the grammar is flawless and doesn't require you to visit the dictionary now and then. The story of Izzy and Sebastian is very interesting. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Sebastion and Izzy's story was lovely from start to finish. Tracey Gerrard is a talented author with a great writing style. The flawless punctuation and grammar made me happy too. Hope to read more from her soon.
The Deeper We Fall by Author Tracey Gerrard is a delightful addition to the Ain’t Nobody series, focusing on the captivating journey of Sebastian and Isabel. As a fan of the series and the Petrov family, I was thrilled to dive into this book, which serves as a prequel to the first instalment, When We Dance.
Isabel and Sebastian are engaging characters who immediately draw readers in with their unique personalities. Isabel is a strong and feisty woman, while Sebastian exudes confidence, charm, and a strong sense of family. Their paths cross when Isabel applies for a job at Sebastian’s nightclub, sparking undeniable chemistry from the very beginning.
However, complications arise as Isabel harbours a secret. During the interview and application process, she was not entirely truthful, driven by her desire to both provide and protect her child. Despite successfully securing the job, Isabel finds it increasingly difficult to reveal the truth to Sebastian and his family. Meanwhile, Sebastian’s protective nature and lingering pain from his past create additional obstacles for their budding relationship.
The plot unfolds at a good pace, keeping readers engaged and invested in the characters’ journey. Tracey effortlessly weaves together the elements of romance, family dynamics, and personal growth, making for a compelling read. The dialogue is credit-worthy, adding depth and authenticity to the interactions between the characters.
One of the strengths of this steamy romance is that it can be enjoyed as a standalone novel. While it is part of a series, new readers can easily delve into this book without prior knowledge of the Ain’t Nobody series. The story stands on its own, offering a satisfying and complete reading experience.
It is worth noting that there are some editing issues throughout the book. While they do not significantly detract from the overall enjoyment, I would recommend that the author considers a further proofreading pass to enhance the reading experience.
The Deeper We Fall is overall a captivating standalone romance novel that will leave readers thoroughly entertained. While there are some minor editing issues, they do not overshadow the endearing qualities of this heartfelt story. Fans of the Ain’t Nobody series will undoubtedly relish this prequel, and new readers will find themselves immersed in a passionate tale of love, family, and second chances.
Sebastian and Izzy's story is beautifully written and keeps you engrossed from beginning to end. Just like other books from this author you are taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I highly recommend this book.
Another lovely book from Tracey Gerrard. Enjoyed it, a second chance at an honest relationship. Read it in only a few days. Great family dynamics and something good in the world rather than more misery. A feel-good delightful read, with added steam. Loved it.
