Graphic language, swearing, and frank sexual descriptions. Oh. And chocolate truffles, velcro'd bondage straps, Manolos, and a bit of grime.

Now it’s New Year’s Eve, and suddenly, he’s in the driver’s seat. He’s got exactly one night to show her...
Amazon bestselling author Susan Saxx has escaped into books since she was in kindergarten, and sees no reason to stop that nefarious activity. Only now she loves crafting tales of sass, suspense and heart that keep readers guessing--and up all night! She is well-known for her sexy, small town heroes, be they the special ops soldiers of Delta North Team, or the Men of Refuge Bay.
When she’s not writing (both male/female and male/male romance), she loves to binge-watch Netflix, exercise (within reason), dream of cottage life and endless supplies of dark chocolate. Oh, and she also caters to the whims of her feline companions--pretty much all day long.
The Real Men series, featuring those testosterone-filled young bucks of Jack’s Bay, has long been a favorite of mine. These guys are full of the real deal: the type of hero’s hearts that women long for, and those hearts are embedded in the type of finely-honed, genuinely-muscled bodies for which we swoon. In the course of this series so far, Susan Saxx has treated us to some sweet romance, steamy romance, and also fairly dark and suspenseful romance. With this latest addition, she ventures into new territory as she adds a sidebar to the series, entitled Real Men HEAT, to indicate the more erotic nature of the storyline.
Well, it really delivers the HEAT! This story happens over the course of one evening, New Year’s Eve, as struggling business woman Alex Jordan seeks to finish her last delivery of the year. She’s determined to mark this last one in the success column and keep her client happy, but things just aren’t going her way. That’s not how Rand Peters, the tool operator shop guy she’s delivering to sees it, though. Alex has been his “recurring wet dream” for more than a year now, and although he knows she’s way out of his league, he sees this as his one and only chance to make his feelings known to her and take his shot. After all, what better time to take the risk than New Year’s Eve? They’ve got the shop to themselves, and they’re having to wait on the correct part to come in by special delivery. Neither of them is going anywhere for a while, it seems.
What follows is a unique, intricate, and wonderful story full of chemistry and passion. The author’s distinctive style is well-displayed in this storyline featuring self-worth and individuality. Ms. Saxx tends to write in a nice non-linear approach, preferring to unravel her story in bits and pieces around the character’s thoughts and memories. So while each of the Real Men novels can be read as a stand-alone, bear in mind that mention will be made of characters and events from previous books in the series. This won’t be a hindrance to reading the current story, but may have you seeking out the previous novels to look into the other amazing characters and love stories of Jack’s Bay!
I hardly need to indicate what the reader can expect from this book as far as rating it goes—the author has done a great job of preparing readers. But I will anyway. This is one that could be shared with your best friend; there’s a ton of steamy, passionate heat between Alex and Rand. They undeniably set off some fireworks of their own! The reader will also find plenty of mature language within the storyline as well. This is definitely an adult read. But it has a lot of heart, as all the stories involving men from Jack’s Bay do. Maybe it’s something in the water up there…
Real Temptation by Susan Saxx ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a place to be on New Years Eve, a warehouse. Alex Jordan and Rand Peters in a warehouse trying to get a part made for her new account. Sketchy part of town, deserted building with a sketchy guy. Considering it's a holiday for couples to get together, it's only fitting that these two succumb to their urges since they'd each been fantasizing this for a year! Is it a one time deal? Does she want more? What will happen in the new year? No one knows, but what a way to start! I voluntarily read an Advance Readers Copy of this book for an honest review.
Alex and Rand both have issues in their pasts that they're both working hard to overcome. They're so special, fully fleshed out characters who have foibles and strengths that compliment each other so well. They share history and tell stories about the people that are important to them. I loved the plot and writing of this story. Another great book in the Jack's Bay series by Susan Saxx!
Well now this is a REAL Temptation. Rand rand rand.... this is what i'll be calling all my UPS guys. Rand is not a UPS delivery guy though. He's a blue collar guy with a crush on a princess. Alex has something to prove but gives in to her desires when she finds herself alone with Rand on New Years Eve.
It is a steamy story with characters that make you want more.
Sexy and steamy yet still has a good story line and fabulous characters .. and some humour! I definitely recommend this book but please don't read it if you are easily offended. Susan Saxx is a wonderful author but this is more adult than her other books .. and rather fun!
This was another great book in the series, that kept me all day wrapped up in its pages. I love how simple it is and how all the pieces come together in the right way when you are with the right person, Kind of like in real life, huh?
Susan Saxx offers us yet again something different. This time we have a dominant guy (in more ways that your standard) finally having the opportunity to spend time with the girl of his fantasies. As the blurb also mentions, Alex wants obtain her previous position in society, with good money to spend, luxury and rich friends. A mistake cost her family the fortune and now she started her own small business, her little gold mine. All her efforts are to grow Intimate Deliveries, to restore her good life. A delivery puts her in the arms of Rand Paters. He was admiring her from afar and now that he has her close, he is not willing to pass on the opportunity. The passion between them is intense, but remains to be seen if they can see (or feel) beyond the differences.
There are many elements that made me love the story, but also some that did not feel natural. While I do appreciate the ambition that both characters have shown in their careers or studies, Alex seems more focused on the money. Rand is determined to turn his life around for his father but also for himself. She is more focused on regaining her social status. I would have wanted an epilogue to see how far they’ve come, but I assume we will get to read about it in the next books, at least a glimpse of it. The “Master” comment in one of the steamy scenes felt a little bit off. I don’t know, the story has a lot of potential, but it was condensed into fewer pages than it should have deserved.
All in all, I am offering 3.5 stars to Real Temptation, but I do advise you check the other books in the series. They are amazing!
