Ryohgo Narita (成田 良悟, Narita Ryōgo) is a Japanese light novelist. He won the Gold Prize in the 9th Dengeki Novel Prize for Baccano!, which was made into a TV anime in 2007.[1] His series Durarara!! was also made into a TV anime, which began airing January 2010
There are two traits found in most of Narita's works: * Narita writes extremely fast, one volume a month if he wishes - with tons of spelling errors and missing words as a tradeoff. The editors like to leave them sometimes just for fun, though. * His work titles often have an exclamation mark at the end (i.e. Baccano!, Vamp!, Durarara!!, etc.).
4 stars. We've only been introduced to a bunch of characters in the story so far, but I'm excited to see a bunch of characters that I've heard about (Alcides and Ishtar)! Let's just hope I can keep track of who all of the characters are because I already forgot most of the masters' names-
This was so fantastic! Most of the novel are prologue chapters that show how each Master gets their servant and so in a way it feels like a series of loosely connected short stories at first. But then it slowly comes together more and more and has a truly epic battle in it as its opening move that would have been worthy as a Grail War finale. To think it starts with that...I cannot imagine what can be ahead from here.
There's so many twists on how Fate's many magic systems work. I don't want to spoil it but the character that becomes Berserker, oh my god, that is THE coolest concept I've read in a long time. Probably the most original take on this character of all time. I can't wait to see what happens with them especially.
It's a real shame this hasn't been translated officially. I hope that changes soon what with the full anime version announced.

A strong start for a longrun series, there is a few character that apparently appear in other Fate series like Fate Stay Night, Fate Grand Order Babylonia, Fate Stay Night Sequel. If you want to know lores of some character then you must follow other series first before you start to read this series.
All the character pretty hook me to know their motives and how they perceive this war. And things that i like about fate is, all the character even the villain got their screen time and what happen at the background. So when the 'war' / some character met at one point, we can pulled into the books more. I dunno is it just me or no, but that is what i felt. And other things that i like from fate is always their refrence, almost all character that appear in this series is based on myth/legend/epos/ human made narrative etc.. so if you like me that read and wrote all the refrence that you can find, that this book is for you.
There is also a few pages of illustration that help you to imagine the scene

I reviewed this for Lady Business, but what you actually need to know is that ensemble casts doing high-octane nonsense is exactly Narita Ryohgo's skill set and I'm honestly amazed there are Fate series that he ISN'T writing.
I am so excited for what’s to follow, I’ve seen the promotional episode 0 and the first episode of the anime but the rest of the series isn’t coming for a few months so I decided to read the light novel.
Since the anime is airing now (finally), I thought it was a good time to read the novels. This was a good introduction for this particular setting. All of the characters are so fun, and I can't wait to read the next book in this series soon!
I cannot believe even for the prologue only this novel is already cool!!! I will not hesitate to fall into this Fate Series fandom when I finished reading all the volumes of this novel.
Ryohgo Narita is an expert in crafting intricately fascinating worlds even within the prosaicly simpler confines of light novel genre. He does an excellent job in taking the complex world of Nasuverse and making it own while constantly paying subtle homages to the original stories in a way that rewards veterans of the franchise.
This first entry reminds me a lot of Hyperion by Dan Simmons in that it is mostly a book that (re)introduces you to the world and characters that will populate this battle royale story, but you don't mind the relative lack of story progressing action because the set-up is so interesting. It's, in my opinion, not a product I'd recommend to newcomers of the Type-Moon universe, but I understand why new fans would be drawn to reading it or watching the anime because of how eye catching it is. Anyone who love Narita or Type-Moon can enjoy this first novel, but it will be most appreciated by someone who has already experienced the rest of the Nasuverse series.
Tapi ini holy grail war-nya bohongan. Hmm, oke coba baca sinopsis dulu.
Yang buat pengarangnya Durarara sama Baccano. Buru-buru cekout di gramedia via sopi.
Yah, kira-kira begitu kenapa saya impulsif beli ini novel, tapi saya anggurin hampir setahun. Parah banget emang :( Tapi pas dibaca kok keterusan :D
Masih sama kaya setting asli Fate.
Fate Strange Fake Volume 1 is incredible, It has the personalities of Gilgamesh the King of Heroe's, and Enkidu, the God's chain's personalities down to a science, I would not want to get between these two fighting, and the introduction to Fake Rider was pretty cool I cannot wait to read more
