This book was full of incorrect information. The example that stood out to me the most was about protein and how much we need each day. As a nutrition and wellness professional, I can speak to this with confidence. The example used in the book was that protein in g should be based on a person's weight in pounds. That is NOT correct. Protein needs are based on a person's weight in kg. Therefore a 150 lb person should consume 55-68 grams of protein per day NOT 150 grams. Also, much of the info in this book seemed to be a personal opinion. Even though references were posted in the back, there is much science-based evidence against some of the things in this book.
I've read all this before and agree with all of it. I've done the Paleolithic diet and it works. But as I've gotten older, my self control and motivation is not what is used to be and it's showing. Gaining weight and having a hard time being as consistent with my workouts. Hopefully after reading this book it'll kick start me back onto a healthier diet.
Wish there was more recipes but a great free fast read! Loaded with great information about non fatty Alcoholic liver disease also about cirrhosis of the liver I did touch on gallbladder problems and what happens if it gets removed and how to repair that and a diet for that as well positive words discuss very fast read definitely worth reading
there are bits of useful information. ive been on a low carb diet for a couple of years and if you need that much food as outlined in this diet you are doing it wrong. give your digestive system a rest! also use oils not stored in plastic. yuck!
I thought this was going to be just another diet book. I Was completely wrong ! Now I have found a guide that is an easy read, and most importantly smart. If you know there is something out there that puts it together, treat your yourself.
Extremely informative, I have been scouring the internet and everything is so conflicting in regards to what it good and bad for your live this book gives you a list!
I thought the book was very good. It was direct. One reason I deducted a star is because he tells us to pretty much swear off white potatoes and most fruit but then incorporates them into some of his recipes.
Generally good advice but some of the recipes include ingredients from the restricted list. Why say not to eat a food item and then include it in the meal plan?
