ღ Fair warning if you have ever read any of Aleatha Romig books, than you know to expect a cliffhanger …. I know this, but I am still going bitch about it, just teensy tiny Bit.
Wow after that cliffhanger in Red Sin, thankfully we started right where we left off in the next installment

As the story starts to unravel in this installment, we start to see more and more glimpses of Van's past which is still so intriguing and the mystery that holds all his secrets after reading this book…… As for Julia, she is left with more questions than answers about her family's company, (Wade Pharmaceuticals) …… honestly, I know how she feels with all the questions I have swirling around in my head.
To say that I am addicted to this series after all that has transpired through out this book might be putting it mildly, but lord have mercy this Evil Evil woman called Aleatha Romig , left us with another cliffhanger…. One thing is for sure I can’t wait to read the next installment to see what happens to both Julia and Van ……. I’ll see you on the other side

Julia and Van’s story continues with the couple being in Ashland, content in their “snow globe”, enjoying the passion and expediency of their relationship. Van still keeps his past closely to his chest, asking Julia to trust him. And she does, blindly allowing him to lead, but finding her strength as a woman, and as the up and coming CEO of Wade.
I love this quote…
“All the stories I'd read and movies I'd seen created an
ideal of what a man should be. That model seemed
unattainable in any man I knew.until now.”
We see glimpses of Van twenty years ago, of the events and chaos in his life that makes him the man he is today, wanting better and more.
Green Envy was a fabulously written story of finding love, true love, and finding the strength to be who you are.
But that ending…that was a huge wrench into where I thought this story was going and now I need more!

Book 2 in the Sin series did not disappoint. Julia and Van come to Chicago to confront the players of Wade Pharmaceuticals and to find out the background of how it’s unraveling started. The questions keep coming and little snipers of Van’s past are trickled into the story to reveal the mystery and allure of Van.
While I believe that Julia and Van have fallen in love, the ending promises to bring much turmoil to Julia’s life in the next book. Secrets should be revealed that will make Julia question Van. The twist that the author added in the ending makes for an interesting and much more complex plot. Can’t wait for book 3!

February 7, 2023DNF at the 49% mark. I just don’t care anymore…not married to the outcome. It’s dragged on too long and the part about him being “married” that was the cliffy at the end of book one that ended up not being in any way true just put a bad taste in my mouth and felt like a cheap trick. Meh.

If you think that AR can’t outdo herself with irresistible couples, think again … This couple’s private “snow globe” love nest and their passionate, one-on-one intimacy in Red Sin lulled me into a false sense of complacency. But I think my head just exploded in Green Envy. Our lovers come out in the open as a couple for a business trip to the city where crap hits the fan in twisted perfection. It's a real world test of their love, commitment, and business savvy. Nothing comes easy and the turn of events in this book is proof.
Droolworthy Van shines as a tower of moral support for Julia in the spotlight. How loving of him to let her find her own footing in the family business during a very murky standoff, but Van wouldn’t be Van without a few clever tricks up his sleeve that interfere with those plans. To what end? Don’t think I’ve forgotten that our smackalicious hero originally embarked on this journey with dubious motives of revenge and unfinished business from the past. Love still binds them like glue – so utterly and delectably sexy that I refuse to believe that any force can break it, but it wouldn’t be an AR romance without some heartstopping obstacles.
These lovebirds still speak my love language of the heart, while making it palpitate with concern about motives and deceptions, but AR never lets me down. I didn’t see the plot twist coming, or the jawdropping cliffy in a sleight of hand that introduced an entirely new element of danger into the mix. You never know who the villains might be. It’s a given that masterful AR will shake things up in her trademark way with a chess game of twisty suspense, mystery, and curveballs that not only threatens business, but their relationship.
Love is on the line, motives are in question, and secrets remain hidden. Hunkster Van – that tower of sexy and indomitable masculinity – and underestimated Julia – who’s coming into her own as a business woman of grit – became my fave AR couple because of Van, but the ending left me stunned. Can they count on each other? Because a riveting storm is brewing and the endgame is a toss-up. Hang on for the finale book.

I'll repeat what I've always believed and said time & again, Aleatha is a mastermind of weaving complex stories of intrigue and passion. Her books feature absolute alphas and this one isn't any different. Donovan Sherman was created to cause a storm in Julia McGrath's life. So when they met during a snowstorm, it was as if the heavens were giving a warning to Julia.
Her world is blanketed by Van now. He's secretive to a degree, keeping things close to his chest. Dealing with problems every minute in his own tempestous life and now in Julia's too, he soon is battling enemies on all side.
But this book belongs to Julia!! What a fantastic metamorphosis this beautiful girl goes through. Her wings, though delicate soon harden with steely strength. she learns to stand up for herself. Emerging out from under Daddy's shadow, she going to be a force to be reckoned with soon.
Van's presence gives her the solid backup to fall back on whenever she needs her morale and strength replenished.
Aleatha gives sneak peeks into Van's messed up past which has resulted in his equally twisted present. And I must say, my jaw dropped and eyes opened wide in stunning disbelief at times.
A perfect symbiosis of loyalty and love makes this book as perfect as the first one, Red Sin.
She has built the lusty passions and convulated relationships to a height so high, I don't wanna come down. It kept me engrossed and invested from first page to the last where trouble finds them in a Diabolical twist..

This was an amazing read, Aleatha Romig knows how to keep you turning the pages on the edge of your seat wondering whats going to happen next. What happens when you believe you met the perfect man for you...Your Red Sin. Well Julia stranded in the snow did just that. Especially after finding out your current fiance got your best friend pregnant two weeks before you are to get married.
Now is Wisconsin yeah Wisconsin...with the man of your dreams rich, powerful, mysterious, attentive & listen to every word you say, not to mention who is about to save your grandfathers legancy. You wonder when will the snow globe break. Ding!!! You must go back to Chicago and face all the people who never believe in you.
Donavan Sherman (Van) and Julia are committed to each other even if there are secrets that Van is keeping. Van ask Julia to give him time and trust him but the more time that goes on Julia is falling deeper and don't care about the wolf that Van tells Julia he is (was). Van gives Julia so much you see how much stronger Julia is with Van by her side. In the same light, the way Julia is blossoming is encouraging Van to open up a bit more, to be the better man and to do things not just because he can because he wants to. Van and Julia are happy together, however will his secrets destroy Julia, will it be too late when Van secrets come knocking on the door? Will Van lose the only woman he wants to keep? I forgot the mention Lennox Demitri from the Infidelity series was mentioned several times, I always love when old characters come to life in new books.

What a delicious continuation of the Sin Series. Aleathea continues to wow with her romantic suspense prowess. Green Envy has all the things I love about Aleatha Romig’s sensual and thrilling storytelling. A sexy, possessive, hyper alpha billionaire with a magnetic allure, broody and megalomaniac vibes, and loads of secrets. And, a sweet, somewhat naive and powerless heroine Julia who finds herself in the hero's web but who slowly starts to find her voice and power while under the steely control of our mercurial hero. And now we get to see more and more facets, as our serendipitously connected lovers explore their passion and bound outside their love nest.
Julie and Van’s story continues with loads of passionate chemistry, more emotional tension, and a bevy of secrets and hidden agendas. And of course, oodles of twists. We get to admire Julia as she comes into her own more in this story- more power, more resolve. And I love seeing the various facets of Van as we peel back his layers. There aren't enough words for me to express how much I am loving Julia and Van's story. Aleatha Romig is my go to author for anything suspenseful and darkish, in Green Envy we are getting a taste of both.
Julia and Van find themselves with more questions than answers about her family's company, Wade Pharmaceuticals, and just when they think they are getting all the info they need someone from Van's past shows up. I have to say there is a HUGE twist in this story and I picked up on it earlier in the book but I still wasn't prepare for things to play out the way they had. That's why I LOVE Aleatha's books!
This series needs to be read in the order it is released so that you will follow the story, but be prepared for the cliffhangers because they're a going to shock you. If you love Romantic Suspense reads you're going to want to add not only this book but the series to your TBR list.

Green Envy -- the second book is as good if not better than the first. The deep character development continues and found myself, once again, hooked as the storyline keeps up with consistency. It was tremendously engaging and keeps your interest the whole way through!
As the story unravels we got a glimpse of Van's past which is still intriguing and mysterious after reading this book. I need more of Van! But what I like about this man, is how he treats Julia in the best possible way. How he supports and encourages her to come out of her shell. And with that, Julia became this confident, fierce, empowered woman, who can face the people who belittle her ability to head the Wade Pharmaceuticals.
This book is a page-turner. Well-stocked with genuinely interesting characters and a twist and turn that is almost impossible to guess. The ending will knock your socks off. Very entertaining. Just beware, once you start this book, you will not be able to put it down. I can not wait until the next installment! I've been Aleatha’d in a very good way!

The second in the Sin series and the plot not only thickens, but splices together some of the pieces we're looking for and yet creates a whole new set of questions and conundrums for us to try an unravel and wrap our minds around.
I love Julia's growth, how she's coming in to her own. Sure she has one heck of a support system in Van, but her grit and determination are starting to really shine through. I also like the small glimpses of vulnerability we're beginning to see in Van, but that just raises more questions and theories about the past...
All I know is April cannot come fast enough!

After the experiencing the captivating, mysterious, and sensual romance between Donavan Sherman and Julia McGrath in Red Sin, I was highly anticipating the continuation of their love story in Green Envy and it certainly did not disappoint. Aleatha Romig has crafted a tale full of intrigue, betrayal, secrets, suspense, and a love that goes beyond mere words, age, and experience. Each chapter builds from the last and we are given more pieces of the puzzle to unravel. Fans of Aleatha will know that she has had plenty of experience with this after the
Consequences
and
Infidelity
series. Although Julia and Van's all-consuming romance does take a back seat to reveal the secrets hidden behind the story in this installment, their passion and chemistry with each other continues to burn up the pages long after.
Moving between the past and present, Green Envy reveals parts of who Donovan used to be as well as his past connection to Lennox Demetri from Betrayal. I was completely surprised, conflicted, and even overjoyed by it because his attempt at moving on meant that he had finally found the one thing that kept him from succumbing to his loneliness—Julia. Donovan had always wanted more until it left him feeling hollow. For such a contradictory character who was both dominant and soft, much like a wolf in sheep's clothing, his fateful meeting with Julia changed everything and brought light to his dark world. Julia herself also experiences character growth as she becomes more confident in herself and power over her destiny with Donovan's love and faith as her anchor.
In the end, Green Envy was another excellent addition to the Sin series and I am dying to read Gold Lust because of that stunning yet also frustrating cliffhanger. I expected the shoe to drop and yet it still shocked me. From Donovan and Julia's passionate and whirlwind romance to the unraveling behind who Donovan Sherman really is will have you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. I'm so excited to read more of this series because the author has truly captured what I loved most about her writing—how every small detail and bit of information adds more layers and depth to her characters and stories until it reaches a crescendo. I highly recommend this series to those who love a story that is layered and complex with characters who are equally so because of how they see the world as they navigate love, danger, and hidden enemies.

Moving between the past and present, Green Envy reveals parts of who Donovan used to be as well as his past connection to Lennox Demetri from Betrayal. I was completely surprised, conflicted, and even overjoyed by it because his attempt at moving on meant that he had finally found the one thing that kept him from succumbing to his loneliness—Julia. Donovan had always wanted more until it left him feeling hollow. For such a contradictory character who was both dominant and soft, much like a wolf in sheep's clothing, his fateful meeting with Julia changed everything and brought light to his dark world. Julia herself also experiences character growth as she becomes more confident in herself and power over her destiny with Donovan's love and faith as her anchor.

In the end, Green Envy was another excellent addition to the Sin series and I am dying to read Gold Lust because of that stunning yet also frustrating cliffhanger. I expected the shoe to drop and yet it still shocked me. From Donovan and Julia's passionate and whirlwind romance to the unraveling behind who Donovan Sherman really is will have you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. I'm so excited to read more of this series because the author has truly captured what I loved most about her writing—how every small detail and bit of information adds more layers and depth to her characters and stories until it reaches a crescendo. I highly recommend this series to those who love a story that is layered and complex with characters who are equally so because of how they see the world as they navigate love, danger, and hidden enemies.

Let's start off by saying this is a brand-new author for us, and we really enjoyed our first read by them. We really enjoyed the characters, they were addicting with that air of mystery that surrounds them all.
Since this was my first book and I came onto the scene a bit late, I didn't I didn't already have a background on this couple but, I pretty much guessed what Van's was he maybe be different with Julia softer and soft-spoken but, that man's aura is surrounded in darkness and with darkness comes danger, and we don't even have to imagine what would happen if someone hurt his precious Julia.
Talk about a couple having awesome chemistry, this couples was explosive. So many hot and sensual scenes with some added kink thrown into the mix.

Loved the mystery the suspense and the betrayals, and we love seeing how deeply in love Van was with Julia and she him. We want more, that is all we can say. From the moment we started turning the pages we were engrossed, so much, so before we knew it the story was over, and we were already craving more. That was one heck of a cliffhanger! I am betting right now that Van wished he had come clean about a few of those secrets he was holding onto because one of his biggest fears just came true...

I have been patiently waiting for this book to come out. I absolutely love Julia and Van's story. They have both found love with each other and honestly, it's just so good between these two. Julia is starting to find herself again and has a voice. Van is protective of her. They are now in Chicago so they can conduct some business. But in true form, nothing is as simple as it should be.
I was reading this book on the edge of my seat. There were some twists and turns that I didn't see coming. A couple that I started to think I might see and then wasn't surprised when I did. But what I didn't see coming was the ending!!!! I'm still in shock. I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to wait for Gold Lust!
I also love the references to Lennox Demitri from the Infidelity series. No worries, if you haven't read it you aren't missing anything in this series. But every time I read his name, it makes me want to pick that series back up again because that was another amazing series.

I could not wait to learn what next awaited Van and Julia. Well, aside from another surprising yet unsatisfying ending (cliff-hanger alert), the story did not disappoint. Green Envy delivered a passionate tale of intrigue, betrayal, secrets, suspense and romance. The saga continues in Gold Lust.
In my review of Read Sin, I mentioned the air of mystery surrounding Van. Green Envy provided a glimpse into his past. As the story progresses the reader learns what made him tick. In Red Sin described himself as a wolf who conquered and devoured his prey. However, with Julia, he was a lamb. His love for her knew no bounds. He treated her with so much love and respect. His support and encouragement pushed her to step outside of her comfort zone and prove to everyone who doubted her she was more than capable.
Despite his adoration, he continues to keep secrets from Julia, which came backfired in the end. Darn, that ending. If only he had been more open with her, then the situation at the end may have turned out differently.
Julia demonstrated tremendous growth throughout the series. Her newfound confidence shined throughout the story, although there were persons who still saw her as a pampered princess. Persons who desire to see her fail.
Van and Julia made the perfect team, both in the boardroom and in the bedroom. Their chemistry was off the charts. Despite the romance not being the focus, they still managed to burn up the pages.
This installment moved at a slower pace than its predecessor, but it was still a page turner. The movement between the past and the present contributed to this. The events in the timeline from the past intrigued me and left me wanting to learn more. Several questions arose for which I desperately need answers for. Now I am sitting and waiting patiently for the next book. Thank goodness the wait will not be long.

Julia and Van’s story picks up right where things were left at the end of Red Sin. I loved diving back into their world. It is full of passion, secrets, and plenty more twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last sentence.
I LOVED Julia in this book. I love that she is taking control and speaking up. Her growth from book one to the end of this book is amazing and I can’t wait to see how she continues to grow! Van….the man is full of secrets and I love that they are all slowly starting unravel and providing more insight into who the man is today.
Julia and Van’s chemistry is off the charts and I feel like their bond has gotten even deeper as they go down the rabbit hole together. I can’t get enough of them and I can’t wait to see how their relationship continues in book three of their story!
If you’re looking for a romantic suspense story this is one to check out, but start with Red Sin!

What can I say about this 2nd book in the Sin Trilogy except I am biting my nails waiting for the next book! Aleatha keeps us guessing and just when you think you have something figured out, twist, turn, and look again! You've been Aleathaed!
Julia McGrath and Donovan Sherman have an arrangement that keeps blurring the lines more and more. As we find out more about Van's past, the plot thickens. More questions are raised and the players in the game grow more suspicious. Julia, however, is the rising star in this book. She has emerged out of her shell of "Daddy's little girl" and come into her own as the Queen on the board. Their family members are the ones that give me pause and raise the hair on the back of my neck.
This book leaves us with a cliffy that is assuaged by the fact the next book will be out soon!

Aleatha is the Queen of Cliffhangers!!
I don't care if Donovan Sherman has a boat load of Lies/mystery and or secrets. He is so flipping imperfectly perfect. He and Julia are the Bomb together and when they collide they go BOOM!
This had me on the edge of my seat all afternoon. Van and Julia are back in Chicago trying to figure out her family's business..which is quite the mystery. The deeper they dive the more questions arise!
There are enemies just lying in wait to strike though.
They mystery and intrigue and the intense passionate connection between Van and Julia leave me absolutely begging for more!
I cannot wait to read book #3 Gold Dust!!

Just as steamy as I remember!! I love Julia and Van!
I was so excited for this book and Aleatha Romig did not disappoint! She gives you the suspense, intrigue, heat, and a huge plot twist right at the end!
As Julia starts digging into the workings of her family's company, she quickly discovers that's shrouded in mystery.
Van, with his many secrets and his own air of mystery, does his best to help Julia, while also working towards his own agenda of bringing down the Butlers. But with his past coming back to haunt him, will Julia be the one to pay the price?
That ending!! Talk about a cliffhanger!! I am obsessed with this series! I can't wait for Gold Lust, the next book in the series!

We're figuring out more about Van's backstory, including more about Madison and his twin brother Philip. This one lost a lot of ground with me as more about his past relationship with Madison is revealed. He tells Julia that he had been "obsessed" with Madison (just what every girl wants to hear), and it also talked about a past encounter he had. He went into her bridal suite before she married his brother, screwed her, and said he wanted his "cum running down her legs" when she married his brother. Really?! I mean...REALLY?! Now I have this picture in my head, and Julia deserves waaay better. As the reader, no matter how much I'm told Van has changed and loves Julia, it feels like she's never going to be the first for him. She will always live in some other woman's shadow.

And the saga continues…I purposely took my time read because I had a feeling the past would come a haunt me. Amd sure enough, it happened. Don’t het me wrong I love when stories are intertwined or characters from other books are mentioned. As for what’s gonna happen…you’ll have to keep reading. I just love how Aleatha brings us in amd keeps us guessing. As for the relationship between Van and Julia, as I was reading one word that kept coming up and Aleatha I’m TRUSTING you.

WOW!!
What can I say that other's have not, this series by Aleatha is outmatching others she has written. Aleatha is the queen of these suspense, dark, intense books but this series has knocked it out of the park.
I was so delighted to read Red Sin and when that finished I was anxious to get my greedy hands on Green Envy and now I have finished that I am anxious again for Gold Lust, mainly because I have embedded myself with these characters and am desperate to find out what is going to happen next, who will be hurt, who will be saved, will love bloom or deminish, all the questions up in the air that I need answered.
Green Envy is everything I thought it would be, it picks up straight away from where Red Sin ends and goes from strength to strength, you see a much stronger Julia taking her place with the help and assistance of Van, he is her guiding light but he does not over shadow her so she has to rely on him, he gives her the helping hand and let's her go with what she wants to accomplish and stands back to support her, that in alone gives Julia strenght and in the same light, the way she is blossoming is encouraging Van to open up a bit more, to be the better man and to do things not just because he can and because he wants to but also to make a life for him and Julia and to make Julia happy and secure with him.
I have no doubts there will be more twist and turns and Van is by no means a straight forward man, there is more to him to explore and I for one can't wait, he is unique, he has a past, he has a future to look forward to and how he accomplashes it will be interesting to read.
Van and Julia are the making of a formidable team and it is great to read. The strength these characters have wether together or apart is making for an amazing series. You can literally taste the power in each page you read and I for one cannot wait to read more.
I only wish we didn't have to wait until April for the third book, Gold Lust but I have no doubts that with Aleatha's writing it will be worth waiting for. There will no doubt be some questions answered in the third book and there maybe some things we may never know but that adds to the intrigue of this couple I feel.
